Reopen Safari without open tabs from last session

At a message pop up when you use Safari from MyMacProtection.com telling me that my mac has been infected by a virus and click OK to start the repair process, I'm sure it's the spam so I don't want to not click on it, but I am unable to do anything else.  I force quit Safari, but when I reopen it, all the same tabs with this pop-up open as well.  How can I re-open Safari without reopen all the tabs from the previous session?

Run it with the SHIFT key or disconnect the computer from the Internet before launching.

This 'case' is active only if show my windows and tabs from last time is on it. If it is grey and inactive, you have an installed extension which is related session restore and pref is overridden in the Options. Take a look at downtown in this extension that pref or a similar preference.

  • Tabs from last Session rather than homepage list during startup

Using FF 4.0.1 and when well even I have (and have ALWAYShad) 'Show my Homepage only at startup' selected and NOT 'windows & tabs fr. '. The last time' selected, windows and tabs from my last session have suddenly (starting yesterday) appear whenever I start FF. (And I don't not updated to 4.0.1 yesterday; done only a few weeks previously).

If you are not using "show my windows and tabs from last time ', so make sure that Firefox is closing properly to prevent restoration of session log may be overwritten.

    See "hang out":

  • Homepage startup restore tabs not last session also.

My startup session Home Page is saved in the preferences options. But it is not back to my custom default. It adds tabs from last session. I thought they were supposed to disappear. They have done this for years, but not now. Have you changed? Should I be closing each unwanted tab before closing a session?

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that affects the pref browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once true value.

  • Despite instructions from the help to get Firefox to show my windows and tabs from last time, when I close Firefox and reopen it, my windows and tabs are not there. What can I do?

Whenever I close Firefox (when I'm leaving for a few days, or when the office closes from one day to the next day for some reason toher) and reopen it, the tabs that I got at the last session (usually calendar Google and Facebook) not open automatically. Google gmail tab is there - and I am sure that I always have to login.
The indications 'Aid' Firefox says (1) close by clicking the Firefox button at the top of the window, then clicking on "exit". To open, click Firefox at the top, click on 'Options', select 'Général' and select ' show my windows and tabs from last time. " The option 'Show my windows etc.' was already there, but I clicked OK, then closed according to the instructions and open - Firefox to not see any tabs and windows but Google gmail.

Previous Session Restore appears only on the homepage by default - Subject: House - not on the old Firefox Google start page - http://www.google.com/firefox or any other user defined homepage.

There is also a menu item in the history of previous Session Restore, which does the same thing as on the subject: homepage.

  • Even if the setting is correct, Firefox does not windows and tabs from last time at the reopening?

I have the habit of keeping three firefox windows open at the same time and I've always defined (under the general tab) ' display windows and tabs from last time '. It has stopped working. The setting is the same, but when I close and then reopen firefox, it opens the window only, not the three Windows I closed.

It has already set to reopen tabs, and I have not erased from history. He left the reopening correctly this morning after I let him "verify" a signature on the Toastmasters International website downloading a form of voucher. I am running 8.0.1. He froze and crashed after that I have is allowed only. I have just discovered that I can reopen the tabs by clicking on "restore closed window" and the session I wanted. However the window of before the crash has lost, which means I had to rebuild my list of tabs. Recently closed tabs is grayed out.

  • Why Firefox always opens with the last session tabs?

When I open firefox always opens with the last session tabs? How can I solve this problem?

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that affects the pref browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once true value.

The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.
You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: 'Open with'; do not double-click).
The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can remove the user.js file if you do not create this file yourself.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

Windows hides certain default file extensions.
Among them are .html, .ini and .js, .txt, so you can see only file name without the file extension.
You can see the type of actual file (file extension) in the properties of the file via the context menu in Windows Explorer.

Only the last window is restored if you close one by one with the X Windows close in the title bar.

You must use File > Exit Firefox to close all the open windows at the same time if you want to reopen several windows.

  • Options set for the windows and tabs from last time

    Hello

I put "Options/général" to display the tabs from last time. very suddenly earlier this week Firefox (I use Version 31) stop n apparent reason and since my tabs are is no longer registered despite article in the 'general' still reading of "save windows and tabs from last time '. How can I fix this? I tried one of the suggestions - remove the tick in the box next to 'do not load the tabs until you have chosen', but this made no difference. What I need to change something in the ' subject: config ' file?

As well as to happen, my favorites have changed as well. Initially, the Bookmarks imported from Internet Explorer, and those created in Firefox was in a continuous string. There is now a separate file containing bookmarks to Internet Explorer. Is it possible to combine the two sets of bookmarks in a game as they were before?

I know that the 31 Version has been updated, but the reason that I have not updated my current setup is that whenever I update Firefox something unexpected or undesirable occurs.

It is best to not double-click the .js files: flowing through a shell script from Windows with potentially unpredictable consequences. To display as text, you can right-click > edit the .js file. (However, these files contain data which are difficult to interpret.)

When the restoration of previous Session is grayed out, it can mean that Firefox (1) already restored your previous session or Firefox (2) did not find a historic session file. In this case, it seems that the #1 is more likely.

The session history works in real time? I mean, if you right click on a link and open it in a new window, then close this window, the menu history lists it as a window, you can restore?

So if you exit Firefox and restart it upward, is the closed window still listed in the history as a window menu, you can restore?

  • Why my "display windows and tabs from last time ' does not work?

    Hi all

I used to have my settings set to "display windows and tabs from last time." For some reason, it does not. Whenever I close my tabs, Firefox warns you me I close many tabs, and when I reopen it Firefox, I only get my home page.

In the menu options, I put 'windows and tabs from last time' options, and in private life, I have "Firefox will remember history", so I do not think it is related to my settings.

I saw a thread on 'browser.sessionstore.enabled' must be true about: config, but I don't have even a name preference that says "browser.sessionstore.enabled. Maybe that's the problem? If so, I have NO IDEA how to fix this. I only am not at all computer savvy.

If someone could find a solution to this very annoying problem, I would be very grateful. If it takes a lot of work of programming/techno, please be VERY descriptive (pretend I'm a 5 year old child in giving directions).

    Thank you!

Browser.sessionstore.Enabled is no longer used, worry not if you can't find it.

In case you use "clear history of Firefox closing:

    • do not erase browsing history – which will prevent the restoration of the work session.

Note that compensation "Preferences of Site" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, installation of software, passwords, and other specific data from Web site.

Deletion of cookies will delete all specified (selected) cookies, including cookies with an exception allowing you want to keep.

You can check the prefs of . browser.sessionstore * including browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash on the topic: config page and reset the browser.sessionstore prefs that are correct (in bold) user via the context menu in the default value to make sure that the Session Restore is enabled and functional.

  • Firefox 10.0.2: Show my windows and tabs from last time no longer works

After reclassification of the 10.0.1 to 10.0.2, the feature to display the windows and tabs from the previous session has stopped working and it just opens the home page.

10.0.1, closing of Firefox with several tabs open is enough to close it. On the restart, all the front legs are shown.

In 10.0.2, closing of Firefox with several tabs open the message that I am about to close several tabs appears. He launched on the restart, only the home page.

Use ' Firefox/file > output "(Mac: ' Firefox > quit smoking";) Linux: "file > exit ') to close Firefox if you're doing that by clicking on the X close in the title bar.

Using the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" is a more reliable way to restore the session data.

    • Tools > Options > general > startup: "When Firefox starts": "show my windows and tabs from last time '.

Make sure that you do not use 'Clear history of Firefox closing' to clear the browsing history.

    • Tools > Options > Privacy: history: [X] clear history of Firefox closing > settings
