Repair XP Home - multiple problems

Hi, I had a client PC running Windows XP Home NL w/c is upgraded to SP3. System booted Windows w / a lot of mistakes. And a major problem was that the taskbar does not appear.
Other problems:
-Internet Explorer will not launch.
-Windows Defender service does not start.
-Task Manager will not start.
-copy / paste do not work.

What I've done so far have been:
1 1 demarrer start in safe mode, run chkdsk /f/r.
-same results.
2 safe mode again and do a system restore.
-system started successfully, taskbar shows even now. but the Task Manager does not work.
3 run msconfig from the Task Manager and disable all services except microsoft.
-taskbar is visible, but no menu start, the system tray and you can't resized it. Right-click on the taskbar, taskbar of blocking are disabled. IE still does not. Copy and paste the file/s still does not.
4. run combofix and SAS portable.
-combofix cannot continue. terminate unexpectedly. SAS can be extracted. Problems with local temp.
5. performance of repair taskbar more.
-cannot continue, error. I forgot the exact error msg, but it says cannot find services.
6. run repair install using the original CD, but it's not enclude MS
-There is no option to repair the installation.

Can someone help me on this? I'm off option left except to format and install. But my client doesn't.

Thanks for your help Soumya but I think the OS itself is not recoverable and had a lot of problems. I was able to convince the owner

for a new installation of his pc.

I use Windows Vista.  I've had problems since getting an update a few days ago.  Windows Defender is constantly telling me that I have multiple problems - if nothing has changed outside the Windows Update.  When I try to open my Convert (bought) the DVD program, it displays the message from the Red Cross stating that "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file.  May not be the appropriate permissions for access you to them.  I should have all permissions on a computer at home.

I use a desktop HP p7-1154 with Windows 7 computer.

I'll have multiple problems but not stabilize those. Sometimes when I go on Internet Explorer, I get more than one copy of opening. Then, I sometimes get the message "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and will close. This will be repeated at the opening or while I'm online. Duplicates are also on the opening of different programs.

Some photo programs that I use, breast different tools do not work. Program companies say that they have never heard of this problem, even after that I performed their suggestions.

I ran Virus and Checkup, Spybot Search & Destroy to Norton, CC Cleaner, Malware Bytes and most of them said 'No problems a' I also do not have a system back Restore Point far enough away from using it.

    I'd appreciate any suggestions really.

Most of the things have been resolved. We always get several cards when you play, but I can live with that. The Internet issue is corrected, which makes me very grateful...

  • Vista Home Prem - problems since installation on 26 August updated - USB problems and everything deleted before the update restore points

I have a Dell XPS 430 quad-processor. Receipt of the August 26 as update automatic updates. Since the computer was restarted after autoupdates, I have problems. Biggest problem is when I switch to another port my 4 ports KVM Trendnet TK - 407K and back on my Dell computer - the computer is blocked and the video is all garbled. My only recourse is to start the computer cold. After the first time it happened, I knew immediately updates, so I went in my restore points to restore back before the update. When I did restore bluescreened, but I was unable to capture data as computer restarted itself and get into the routine of starting fix. Difficulty of startup said it could not solve my problem.

When I returned to restore to try to restore once again, I found that all my restore points have been removed. I found a utility called the shadow on the web Explorer and installed. He seems to find all my data restore point on the recovery D: drive, but Windows is not seeing them.  I should also mention, usb-wise, given that these updates have been applied, my Canon digital camera is not recognized when I hang it in one of the USB ports.

Don't know what to do at this point. If I stay on the port on my computer using the KVM switch, my PC at home works well. Unfortunately, it is not realistic that I need to do my job in two laptops that are also connected to the switch.

I'm tempted to just delete all the updates that have been installed on 8/26 to see if that helps - esp KB973879 I read on this patch causing a lot of problems with other computers.  Another thing that I have not tried is to use the restore from a command prompt application.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

I'm in the process of updating Vista with Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 service Pack 1 and 2007 Microsoft Office Service Pack 2 fofo. It fails to download it every time.

I am trying to load Windows Live on the computer for the first time. It gives me the error code 0 x 80070643.

I also try to load Sype on this computer and I get the disc is full or not abe to write to it.

I have administrator access on this computer. I tried to give as follows in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913754 but it has no effect on this problem.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

If you had bad sectors which were repairable, you should still consider a new drive before irreparable failure occurs. As soon as they begin forming it does not stop and eventually, sooner rather than later, the disc will miss replacements for defective sectors.

  • Start repair cannot find a problem, but are still unable to start Windows Vista successfully.

So here's the skinny.  I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  I came home today and I tried to start it up, it got to the point where the bar is be thrown backwards and then what seems to have been that a BSOD flew for a fraction of a second the power cut and the system restarted.  Restart Start Up Repair did not work (you cannot determine the problem).  Could not start safe mode, and when I went to all our restore points had mysteriously disappeared the system recovery.  I checked the material widely to find errors, and it doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.  Since at this stage would not worth the hassle to track down a Vista Home Premium disc to make a repair (which I'm not sure would work based on reading other forums) a Windows 7 upgrade would solve the problem?  If that won't accomplish anything, I at least would be able to rifle through the old partition and get my stuff is back with a fresh install of Windows 7 on a new partition?  What can I do, or I am the GROUND.  There are a lot of things on this computer and I would be sad to lose.  Unfortunately, we are a company household risky here and nobody listened to me when I said that we really need get an external hard drive to make a backup, so we don't have not one.  Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Loveofsporks,

You are able to start Windows now? If this isn't the case, follow the steps below.

1 restart your computer and immediately press the F8 key until you reach the menu Advanced Boot Options.

    2. Select Disable automatic restart in the event of system failure

    3. restart the computer.

    4. After you receive the exact error message.

For an upgrade to Windows 7, you must be able to boot into Vista. A clean install would solve your problem if it's related software. Regarding your data, try to connect the hard drive to another computer as a slave drive to see if you can recover your data. You can check in the recovery software from 3rd party in option.

    * With the help of third party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Vista Home Premium problem: the system automatically restarts

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 with Vista Home Premium installed on it. I bought it about two years ago. Last month, the laptop always automatically restart. Although I restore the system to its factory, the problem still exist. I also use recovery disk, but it has not solved the problem. And then I intend to reinstall my vista Home premium. However, I don't have an installation disc. This is because as my laptop with Vista Home premium pre-installed on it. How could I get a vista installation disc Home premium? If I contact the manufacturer (Toshiba) or you can get it from Microsoft?
    Thank you

    Andi

original title: problem Vista Home Premium

If the laptop comes with Vista Home Premium installed, then do a restore to factory re-installed this program.

Go to start / computer / system properties and read what is installed on your system.  It's probably Vista Home Premium.  You don't need the disk to re - install anything else (and recovery options will not solve the problem if a full restore to factory settings did the trick).

You can get in trouble with your device drivers (but I doubt it). Go to the Device Manager by going to start / find and type Device Manager and enter and then double-click on the program icon that appears.  Check each device to a red x, yellow! or white?  These identify devices with problems probably (drivers, but also of conflict or something else).  Click on each for more details and troubleshooting tips.  If you need to get drivers (and you need you to do all you have time to do - they help way beyond simply solve this problem), let the computer dealer or the manufacturer of the device (NOT of Microsoft Updates).  In fact, you must disable automatic updates in Windows Update driver as follows:http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/how-to-disable-automatic-driver-installation-in-windows-vista/. Follow these steps to get the drivers: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/ht/driverdlmfgr.htm.  Once you have the drivers, you can install them via the Manager device as follows:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-device-manager-install-driver.html.

It seems to me like some kind of hardware problem which is the cause after what you did to remedy.  If the above does not work, then I suggest that you take it for a repair of computer diagnostic and repair shop.  Make sure that you back up your first data as they can wipe the hard drive clean for their efforts.  Before that, you can contact the manufacturer to see if they can offer advice or suggestions (and check how their use to maintain the machine would cost).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
