Repeated resolved Firefox crash!

Site Web visited for the last 6 months, broke down several times a day, with apparently no correlation with the number of tabs, Firefox, Firefox version, etc. Some days, that Firefox would crash just a couple of times, but some days - like this morning - it crashed again and again. Start-> crash. New tab-> crash. Click on the subforum-> crash.

I didn't have an active malware infection (according to Malwarebytes, Spybot, etc.) and search for this on a regular basis. I had the problem of occasional malware in the past, but the programs above took care of them.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox without success.

I had already tried to reinstall Windows 7 64B professional from the CD, but because of all the updates that he refused to proceed. Then, I learned this morning that if you uninstall Service Pack 1, you can then do an "implementation" of the existing installation. So to make a long story a little shorter, that's what I tried. Remove SP1 was the key to get the original Windows 7 CD to run. I selected 'Upgrade' and let the CD do its thing. After that the installation process has been long enough that I got my back office it me has notified that the installation of .NET has been damaged and it has been repaired. This could be the real key here, so why I am mentioning, even if I have really no idea. In any case, all the .NET stuff was fixed automatically and after a few reboots more and 122, updates later, the process was done. I loaded Firefox and where I get blocked once every minute or so, I went now a good 8 hours without for as much as a hiccup. I'm writing this in case it is useful to someone else, as no where did see no mention of Windows files damaged as cause of crash.

Yes, well, you know Microsoft: every week a new updated... or ten years!

24 hours later and Firefox always collapsed so I'm calling this one fixed. I think that the moral of my story is that even though programs like Malwarebytes, Spybot, etc., claim to have removed a malware infection, some of the Windows core files could be damaged. If I had to do all over again I'll try first uninstall all .NET components and that if it does not work I then proceed to uninstall SP1 and do a upgrade in place.

Oh and another possibly useful treat - you can use any Windows 7 CD to do this, regardless of the particular version on your machine, you just type in * your * product key to validate the installation.

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    • Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
    • In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
    • You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    • Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

The report please come back shortly.

  • Firefox crashes repeatedly and randomly

Firefox has been repeatedly and randomly crashing for about a week. I have sometimes a few hours of uninterrupted navigation but often have restart Firefox 10 times in 10 minutes too. It's completely random, it still happens in safe mode, AND when the plug-ins/add-ons custom are disabled. I use the latest version, I uninstalled completely and re installed, but it worked only for a day or two. It occurs on many different pages and doesn't seem to have a boss. Malware bytes was performed several times and nothing is found. Windows has all the updates that are available. The only thing I can imagine could cause what I have not tried to fix is the dissonance between Firefox and old Windows XP as possible a problem. Any ideas?

There appears to be opportunities that the above entries relate to a malware disguised as something else (which would explain why they are not versioned) or they could be old remnants now not supported by Google Desktop.

It may be interesting to try to uninstall Google Desktop, or put in quarantine and sometimes delete these two files. It would be certainly interesting runs a malware on these specific files up-to-date.

  • Firefox crashes repeatedly since Version 29 was intalled

    Hi all
I had at least one accident per week since Version 29 became operational. I'm not too happy, especially since the recent accidents seem would have cost me a few periods of my recent history that I might need for reference tracking for my writing.

Here is the latest list of accidents:

As you can see from the dates of the frequency of crashing is way up since the beginning of May. I know it's only once a week or more, but it's still very embarrassing - especially when the information is disappearing. It's bothers me a lot. I know that I ignored some steps recommended in the page web https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-troubleshoot-prevent-and-get-help . But what I would really some clues as to why this is happening. Unfortunately, my experience with computer programming only goes so far and I find the text of incomprehensible accident reports - perhaps someone here could glance and see if they can find something important. I will say that I'm also growing use of memory over time and I had a few crashes and slowdowns during this month as well.

I start to wonder if Firefox has just released itself specced out of reach of my seriously old material - if this is the case Just tell me and I'll see if I can fall back to a previous version because I do not in any case the interface V. 29 - I got to use the Restorer of classic theme Add on to return to something I can live with that and it still doesn't seem right of me. I want to emphasize that I have Asperger's Syndrome and I do really badly in the face of the changes in my visual environment,

    Yours Sincerely,
    Kaelkitty.
    .

Edited to add: as far as I can tell, all of the plug-ins and extensions are up-to-date. I can't update my drivers more for this system because no new is produced for this material.

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
    While you are in safe mode;
    Press < Alt > or < F10 > to display the toolbar.
    Followed;

    Windows; Tools > Options
    Linux; Edit > Preferences
Mac; name of the application > Preferences

    Then Advanced > General.
Find and stop using hardware acceleration.

Dig safe web sites and see if there is still a problem. Then restart.

  • container plugin Firefox crashes when you try to connect to GMail

I changed my password on one of my Google mail accounts, and now I can not connect; Firefox Container Plugin breaks down. I put my new password, and then as soon as I put in the verification code, Firefox crashes. None of my other accounts for that. How can I resolve this - it's not a question of GMail.

Because Flash is the more commonly used plugin, could temporarily block you Flash on Google. Here's how I suggest you do:

On a search on google.compage, open the Panel of permissions of the Page Info dialog box using one of these:

    • Right-click the page and choose View Page Info > permissions
    • (menu bar) Menu Tools > Page Info > permissions
    • Click the icon of padlock or globe to the left of the address of the site > additional information > permissions

In the upper part, find Adobe Flash and change the parameter block. This should apply not only in research, but also to the login page and Gmail.

  • Firefox crashes when opening and randomly - Windows XP.

What I saw, is that FireFox crashes on most start-ups. It also blocks at random. He experienced, he did this in safe mode, too. He has done this before that plug-ins have been installed, and he does it since FireFox 12 or 13 of FireFox.

Curiously, my folder where incident reports SHOULD go is completely empty.

    Current version: 22.0

    What I'd do here?

    Hello

  • Firefox crashes when I try to access some sites protected by password

Since Firefox updated to 17.0.1, every day, I have this problem. Often when I go to a site like ebay or my Bank, after entering my password, Firefox crashes. When I close Firefox and try to start it again, it does not start. Internet Explorer then does not either. I need to restart. I never had this problem before 17.0.1. I have a desktop running Windows XP and all updated.

It seems that the problem is resolved by updating Trusteer report to the latest version: 1207.40. I don't know why the report software was not being updated automatically on my PC but when I've manually updated the problem disappeared.

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

If you restart Firefox, the issue is resolved or at least improved?

    Hi Matt & Omnisilver

I followed all the troubleshooting steps in the links you provided & thought that was included in my original post, but it seems that after the first half.

In any case, I restarted again, and up to now things seem stable, even with extensive extensions, so I think that my problems are solved.
