Repeated restart of the modem necessary?

I have an iMac (1.5 years) most recent with 16 GB of memory and a newer (6 months old) Airport Extreme and a Motorola Surfboard 1 (1 y.o..).  I find that at least 2 - 3 times a week I have to disconnect the two and closing the iMac, then reconnect and restart all (by suggestion of the T - W cable).  This is because the modem slows to a crawl (I pay 20 MB/s, most of the time exceeds this, but the 2 - 3 times a week it slows down to about 3-5 MB/s.)  This is particularly problematic because I also use a phone system VoIP (Ringcentral) who gets completely jerky and stutters when the ISP speed crawls. Why, what can I do on this royal pain.  Any ideas?  Thank you, all the...

What exact model is your surfboard modem?

The series of Arris/Motorola SB61XX modem seems to be incompatible with the base stations of 802.11ac AirPort (potentially, 802.11n models as well.) This is not bad in themselves, they just don't "play well" together. Typical questions are interrupted connectivity and low rate of transfer via the WAN - LAN interface.

However, if yours is one of these models, you can replace one or the other. For modems, either the Zoom 5341J or Cisco DPC3008 would be good choices. However, you must use a modem that is recommended by your ISP. For Time-Warner, visit this link.

I had the Tdss rootkit on my laptop and removed using TDSS Killer of Kasperky. After the reboot, I have connected and saw a box that displays "Please Wait". After 5 to 10 seconds, my computer restarts. After the reboot, it shows options for Windows Vista loading, i.e. the safe mode, safe mode with network. I chose the mode safe mode with networking and everything works fine. The system properties box opens automatically. When I try to boot into normal mode, he repeated restart after the connection. I tried to run a restore of the system into safe mode with networking, but it tells me something about the system restore is in mode offline. I hit a brick wall and don't know what to do next. I don't want to if I have more options to factory default restore.

The TDSS rootkit is very destructive.  It is not uncommon to make a computer work is not properly after removing it.  I advise you to restore your computer to factory default.  Not only is this the best option, it's the safest option.  I wouldn't consider the computer to be trusted without going through the restore process.  Even if you can be sure that 100% of the infection has been removed, you have no way of knowing what changes the malware made to the settings on your computer, which may be exceptionally vulnerable to future malware attacks.

  • When I want to use the modem 711 error messages or 1068 appear

Everything was going well on my new L series with windows 7. Then after a few months, I tried to connect to the modem to check my email. He won t connect.
Fortunately, I still have my old computer, so I tried it worked. I googled Error 711 and as was suggested on other sites in windows. Nothing has worked.

S so here is what I got: Error 711, go to services and change it to manual startup.
He was already on manual start. Error 1068 same thing. What they said to do has already been done in management programs. So why doesn't it work?

Modem is installed, I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but that made no difference. It of been a week now and nothing I will fix it. I only have the drive for laptop recovery, so it works with all that Toshiba put on it at the factory.

I also tried the system restore, but when it restarts, I get the message of this system restore could not perform the full restore. Any additional programs are approved windows and works well. With the exception of iTunes that keeps telling me to change the compatibility mode that doesn't even go as far as windows7 and ivolume who won t recognize iTunes 9.0.2.

Another problem I have is this iTunes update no longer far as 11,90 MB download before stalling in the process.

    Hello

To be honest your ad is a bit confusing and not clear enough...

I m not one expert with Modems but if errors occur even after using the Toshiba Recovery Disc I think that it s a hardware malfunction, and you should contact a service provider for help.

If your recovery disk doesn't work, you can get a new from an authorized service or a new, you can order online but it s based on your laptop.
Moreover, why you didn't post the information on your laptop?

Sorry, but everything that s what I can say at the moment.

  • Sound problems and the modem EA60-155

3 weeks ago I received my laptop EA60-155 and have experienced ongoing problems with the sound and modem on the laptop. I bought the laptop from currys so am sure that they are an authorized dealer.

The problem is different, sometimes I turn on the laptop to find out, there is no sond and the modem does not work, sometimes the sound works and makes the modem for about 15 minutes before the problem arises again. I bought the machine to the dealer authorized to Bahrain twice now, twice they said them that the problem was resolved when he doesn't. I called the center of appeal twice, but I still have the problem. Any advice would be greatly appretiated.

    Hello

If you have this problem permanently, you can try to reinstall the modem and sound card. If the unit is pre-installed with recovery DVDs, it should work fine. As a first step, you can try and remove the sound card and the modem from Device Manager, then restart the device. The two hardware components must be recognized and installed again.

If there is no success I recommend you backup your data and reinstall the OS using recovery DVDs. On this way the unit will be clean installed and there should not be any problem. Every problem that happens after that can be some hardware malfunction and you must contact the Service partner again.

    Good luck!

    Hi Mikey,

as a first step, it would be good to know which model you have.

Then we can compare it with other models and perhaps a driver XP modem to another model fits!

For the first time, here is therefore a standard modem installation oder.

    1. check if the modem is entered in the Device Manager
    2. check if the modem is configured and that it works?
The Control Panel must be open and go to the phone

    3. double-click on modem and go to the Diagnostics. The

  • Anyone having problems with the modem from Cox and Time Capsule

    Hello

Lately my internet falls down every day or every two days with Cox. I have reset the modem, the time capsule, the routers extreme apple, etc. shut down and restart my whole network. I called Cox every two days to refresh the modem.

I heard that I may need to reconfigure my Time Capsule (acts as a router) to avoid this problem.

No one knows what to do here?

    Thank you

    Please, try the following:

Open the AirPort on your Mac utility (Finder > Applications > utilities > AirPort Utility)

Click on the image of the time Capsule

Click on edit in the window that appears

Click on the Internet tab at the top of the next window

Click the Internet Options button at the bottom of the window

Make sure that the IPv6 configuration is set to Local link only

Click on save, if you make changes, then click Update at the bottom right of the window

When Cox fully implements IPv6 (they are not), you may be able to return to the automatic configuration.

Well, I found the solution to the problem! :)

so, I write these verses down for anyone who might know the same problems:

as usual, strictly follow the 'Toshiba A200 Installation sequence' found on the TOshiba driver download page.
as he [I jumped no useful installation programs]

I advice restart you each time you install a component, in order to have under control the whole Exchange.

    1 Windows XP Service Pack2 (RTM) - of course ;) -.

    DirectX V9.0c 5 (SP2)

    12 Intel ICH8M Chipset utility V8.2.0.1014
    13 Intel VGA driver 6.14.10.4833 965GM

Note that driver VGA, the ATI we too, was also a difficulty - in fact, I don't know what it would have done - for the AUDIO sound card.
You may have read in the installation dialog box.

Moreover, I do not know if you must install the sun java, .NET framework and WMP version that displays the list, versions that are OLDER than the most recent, but just to be sure, download the form versions THAT NET.

at this point, you should see "unknown PCI device" in the unknown devices in the system control panel.

    14 Realtek ALC268 Audio Driver V5.10.0.5433

for realtek, I suggest you download the driver from the zip from the realtek download page; Once extracted from the latest version for desktop or a temp directory, I suggest to install before all the patch KB888111 you might find in the \WDM_Rxxx\MSHDQFE.

    then restart.

for now, you should not see the "unknown PCI device" no more where it was before, but under the "system devices", like her, where you could also end the "Intel PCI Express Root Port", "Pci Bus" and so on [ja? m saying this to you because ja? m Italian aid of XP, and I don't remember the exact English names...].

Now, install the audio drivers by using the setup.exe that you find in the \WDM_Rxxx directory.
It should reinstall the kbfix and install the new drivers.

    Reset.

After the reboot, nothing happens, but...

.. see the "unknown pci device" menu - here? m not sure the name but the one with the exclamation mark in the 'system devices' - select 'Properties' and then 'driver' and 'update driver'. Let XP find the NOT on the net. tell XP to look for "Video and Audio Controller, game" [you know, the English entry that usually stands for device audio and similar] and he must find a CORRESPONDING driver, which is the "MICROSOFT UAA BUS DRIVER for HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO".
If XP don't select this driver by itself, you should look for "\windows\system32\DRIVERS\hdaudbus.sys".

After that, XP automatically detects ALL audio devices and install the correct drivers.
In addition, it now the entrance to the modem, modem to install the separate driver, that we could find in down in the "list system", like her, on the Toshiba download page.

    So, hope this helps!

    See you soon,.

  • Cannot install the Modem Satellite Pro A200 XP driver

I'm a local network for Newbold College administrator. New mobile A200 and we need XP Pro on some of them. I tried to install the modem driver as one of the last drivers downloaded from the website of European support. I also tried the Canadian site as well.

The driver installation program does not appear to do anything. I tried to manually install the driver for a Windows modem Agse/Toshiba software modem, but I have com port problems and I can not quire of the modem.

    Can someone help me please!

    Hello

What to say; I checked the driver Toshiba Europe page and found all the drivers XP necessary and important for the Satellite Pro A200.

Please note that the European driver Toshiba page provides drivers XP 3 different satellite Pro A200 series! There are PSAE1, PSAE4 and PSAE7 series.
    Please choose the right!

In addition, you will find a txt file of installation instruction on the page of Tosh.

  • Satellite L300 has no sound and the modem also does not work

I have this Toshiba Satellite L300 (PSLB8A - 1F004) an Australian model who was working perfectly until I changed the hard drive after he developed bad sectors.
    I installed Win Vista Business.

I have all drivers (TOSAPINS file) provided with the original hard drive, but when I installed the drivers in the correct order. IE chipset, modules, audio, modem, and all the other pilots.

There is still a little red x on the taskbar saying: "no audio output device is installed" and I also noticed that the modem is not listed in Device Manager. I also tried to replace a work from a cell phone same model modem card, but it still shows no signs of picking up the modem as well as his driver.

I made the attempt to download the drivers from mytoshiba.com.au under the exact model and the OS and installed but nothing helps, the problem is still there.

No sign of modem picked up and the little red x on the taskbar always shows "no audio output device is installed" and on Device Manager, is not to show the audio or modem. There is also nothing in the typical yellow marks and also I tried to show hidden devices but there is still no sign.

Is there something else I missed that I can try again?

    WewakMaster

I agree, with Akuma. First remove the audio controller from Device Manager (can be found under audio and game controllers).

Then update the Vista of the State. All patches and Service Packs must be installed.
Then, restart the device and install the driver Audio from Realtek ALC268 from here:
    http://www.MyToshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/L300/pslb8a-01f004/download?OS=15

    Should work
