  • Can I print in black and white with an empty cartridge on a printer HP Officejet Pro 8100?

Only the cyan cartridge is empty, all the other 3 cartridges are fine. I ordered the cartridge cyan online but I need to print important documents today. The power button blinks when I try to print.

I do not understand, black and white must not use a color cartridge to print.

Is there something so I can print before receiving the cyan cartridge?

The printer Officejet Pro 8100 has the same print mechanism like its counterpart of all-in-One Officejet Pro 8600.  This printer has a print head mechanism that contains 4 individual cartridges: CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black).

It will replace the cartridge if the unit provides a message from one of the colors being empty, until the unit will resume printing.  This is a retention mechanism to avoid the product from damage.  I hope this helps.

  • More than a printer HP OfficeJet Pro 8100

    Hello

I need to buy two printers wireless to use with an iPad.

But the thing is: if I install TWO identical HP OfficeJet Pro 8100 under the same wifi network, how can I know that I want to print? In other words, my concern is that when I want to print a document using the iPad it will show two printers, but both with the name "HP OfficeJet Pro 8100". Having in mind that each printer is located away from each other in my house, I need to print under the right printer.

Is it possible to change the name that appears on AirPrint so I can distinguish the two printers? Something like "Printer-Studio" and "printer-bedroom"? Or something that works somehow...

    Thank you.

    Pedrosacelso,

It is possible to change the name of the printer, many customers buy more than one printer to a desktop environment and need to change the printer name to identify the printer.

  • Printer HP Officejet Pro 8100 & custom paper sizes

Found all useful instructions on creating new formats of paper custom in Windows 7. But am complete novice & need to buy a printer for a charity. Installs on this model because of good reviews, but more work will be 1 document of custom paper size. Need to know if the instructions are foolproof! (Before spending their money.)

    Hello invqn,

After some detailed research, as well as installing the Pro 8100 (and other products) on a Windows 7 system, we determined the 8100 Pro does not support custom sizes: this is by design and intent.

Note that one of our engineers proposes to use a different set of drivers (from an older device) as a possible workaround, but it is not proven and could be used to limit your overall functionality of the device.

However, we have confirmed that a newer device which is currently, the HP Officejet Pro 8610 (8620 or 8630) e-all-in-one, supports the formats customized; Here is the multifunctional printers.

By following the instructions in the link you sent, you can create new forms with custom formats and it will be displayed in the properties of the printer to get a job / select. It supports custom formats of 3,00 x 8.50 x 14.00 5.00 in. in.

Our intention is only to provide information about what we know; you could take a moment and perhaps see if a representative Marketing HP might be able to give you more information, but that's what we have.

    We hope this helps...

  • HP Officejet Pro 8100 printer: HP Officejet Pro 8100 x - N811a/N811d

While in the properties, the test print out in color, when I try to print a document, it used to print in color.  I must appied in levels of gray, to black/color and still does not print in color.  What I am doing wrong?

Hi @Vin220 and welcome to the Forums of HP!

I see that you have problems printing output. I would like to help!

I would recommend starting with a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I recommend also to download and run the HP print and Scan doctor.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Printer HP Officejet Pro 8100 - envelope to print with a picture

    Hello-

I try to print an envelope with a picture on it #10.  I can print a regular envelope using Mailings > envelopes.

I use mailings > envelopes > add to the Document to print the envelope with the picture on it, but I get a paper size mismatch error.  Is it going to be possible, or do I have to order labels?

    See screenshot below:

    Hi @jbald,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I recommend that you try to print an envelope with another application (program), to see if MS Word 10 is at the origin of the problem. For example, Apache, OpenOffice.

I mentioned that, if the solutions above does not solve the problem. You will need to contact the developer of the application for assistance.

The issue is not with the printer because it prints correctly ordinary envelopes.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

  • Printer HP Officejet Pro 8100

I am completely of yellow ink, so every time I also try smething rint, I get:

I have a lot of black ink, but when well even I put it to print in black only...

.. .he still does not print.

I would use black ink B4 having to buy more cartridges.  Is it possible to "trick" the printer in printing, though even I have more than 1 color.

In fact, I'm also out of cyan and magenta, but the yellow alert is one that keeps popping up.

Well, I guess that I joined this forum for anything. Good bye.

I have a printer HP Officejet Pro 8100. I removed the tray paper this morning to load the paper, and now I can't seem to slip in all the way. Hello

You could try to raise the front of the printer to see if something done obstacle from your desktop.  It should slide right in.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8100: Officejet Pro 8100 won't print color after update software on Mac

I have a MacBook Air with OS X (Yosemite 10.10.3)-.

When I connect the printer via USB, I was able to print by using the generic drivers on the machine. However, as expected, update software detected an update for HP drivers - I installed.

And now the printer does not print in color. I checked every setting I can think, but it is still printing in black and white.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Welcome to the @mandikayencforum!

I have read your current position and the previous thread on how you were not and are not able to print in color from your Mac running 10.10. I saw that already test pages were color printing and would like to know if the test always pages print in color. If they do, a matter for the Mac somewhere, and I have some suggestions for you to do below. If the test pages no longer print in color, please let me know! If the printer is not printing in color when you print test pages, there is probably a problem of cartridge or printer hardware problem.

    1. follow the same steps of @Waterboy71 on your other thread here to reset the permissions system disk and repair of printing: Re: Officejet Pro 8100 refuses to print color (OS X 10.9)

    2. If you still do not have the ability to select the color printing on your Mac, try the procedure described in this post from wisgirl64: Re: won't print in color from my Mac or iPhoto for HP photosmart D110

If you find that the color print test pages, and the Mac does not give you the options to choose color printing, I suggest getting in touch with Apple support experts to see if they can help fix the problem of the OS X.

  • Officejet Pro 8100 ink problems

I recently had a cartridge Cyan 951 fail.  The warranty date is 2014 12 (IE this month), where I can get this replaced?  Any ideas anyone? Thank you

I must also add that the other colors and ink have recently declined almost complete at 1 bar?  This means a printer rather than the ink problem?  All cartridges have much ink, confused?

    Hi there @machp00 !

Thank you for contacting the HP Forums!

I should be able to provide some information that will help solve your problem!

If your cartridge HP Cyan 951 has failed and you need to replace it, then I would recommend to call our technical support to HP about a replacement. Our tech range covers the warranty and replacements on printers and cartridges.

Please contact our technical support at the 800-474-6836. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number. http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/contact-HP/WW-phone-assist.html

You also mentioned that your other color cartridges have run very quickly and your conserned printer can be the cause of this. I recommend you to check the levels of ink on the front of the printer if you have been checking them on the computer.  The front panel of the printer gives you a more accurate display of the ink levels.  You can also run a "printer status report" which will display a page with ink levels, giving you the exact ink level.

Follow the link to check for printer HP Officejet Pro 8100 Series ink levels.  This document covers all they have the means to check the ink levels so you get an accurate reading.

You can also print in draft mode and configure the printer to use the black cartridge only.  This will save ink when printing documents.  In some cases, when you print pictures they tend to use more ink documents then regular and can deplete faster colors.  I can provide documentation on how to change print settings, but I will need you to provide me with the version of the operating system, your computer is running (e.g. Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or Mac 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, etc.).  This way I can give you the proper document for your specific operating system.

Thanks again for the display on the HP Forums! If please, after back and let me know how it goes.

I've updated my router from WEP to WPA2 wireless and may not know how to upgrade the SSID on the OfficeJet Pro 8100.  I've updated my consoles of mobile games, televisions, thermostat etc to the new SSID and password.

I don't have the installation CD.  I have the USB cable.  I run the HP 5.19.2 utility.

"The task of network settings is not currently available.  Please make sure that the device is connected to a network. »

  • OfficeJet Pro 8100: Problem with airprint

Our printer is officejet pro 8100. My iOS is 9.3.2 but not sure about the version of the printer. The first time we buy there worked with Apple airprint. Lately, we can't use airprint more which is very uncomfortable. EPrint still works well, however, we do not normally use it. We tried all possible solutions. The device can see the printer but when we choose the printer it disappears from the list. What should we do?

    Hello @Penny3425,

Thanks for dropping by the HP's Support Forums! I see that you can not use AirPrint with your HP Officejet 8100. You are still able to use the ePrint feature.

I would like that you start here: Wireless Printing with Apple's AirPrint

This aid?  You are now able to use the AirPrint feature. I'll watch for your reply.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8100: Officejet Pro 8100 printing problem!

I've been using an Officejet Pro 8100 for about four 4 years or so and, recently, he stopped printing the color MAGENTA ink cartridge.  I ran to the printhead cleaning app more app of the alignment of printhead several times; but, in vain.  I also spent cartridges; also, in vain.   By local service organizations, I was told that I might as well buy a new printer as the cost for the service could be almost the same as the cost of a new printer.  If there is no solution for my problem, I've been watching the Pro OfficeJet 8210 as an alternative.  It would be a good choice?

    Hi @elbojon1

If you are looking to buy a new printer Officejet Pro I recommend to check this link: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/ads/ink-decisionator/overview.html

It is a decisionator tool to help choose which printer best suited to your needs.

Depending on how you print, you might be interested in instant ink program. It is a subscription model where you pay the same monthly price and receive replacement cartridges according to your needs. It is cheaper than buying a new cartridge every time. Here is a link for more details: https://instantink.hpconnected.com/us/en/r

Eligible countries and the printer models are described below.

  • HP officejet pro 8100 not review or color printing.

My 8100 Officejet Pro won't recognize color when you try to print from my pictures in Windows 8.1. I've done all the checks... ok of ink, grayscale printing is turned off, blackonly is disabled, deleted the program and resarted from scratch with disc supplied. The computer brand new from Chillblast and is very fast and up-to-date. All inks are new and full.

It will print documents, pdf, etc, but I can't 'see' colors in my pictures, all the previews and print out black and white.

The only thing is that I don't know what, if any, changes may be required in the part "Color management" Settings Advanced... any advice... Thank you.

I just checked the download site pilot official HP and wireddrivers.com site and noticed that the number of driver for my printer Officejet Pro 8100 has changed!

    It was OJ8100_1321.exe... It is now OJ8100_1321 - 1.exe.

I downloaded this driver and all is well in my world printer!

I don't know if that was my question on this forum or my contacts a Microsoft technician, (which was useless and kept asking me to do things that I refused to do what I explained that I had already tried), but in any case, someone realized there is a software problem in the pilot and fixed.

I will now post this as resolved to help someone else who search... Regards Kevin.
