Replace it with a bigger hard drive on HP 620

I need a bigger hard drive on my laptop computer product for laptop HP 620, no #UUW WT249EA, serial no CNU1060PR9. It is originally equipped with a 320 GB SATA II HD. I want to install a 500 GB and, if possible, a 1 TB hard drive. I'm looking to

HITACHI TRAVELSTAR Z7K500 2.5 "500 GB 7200 RPM SATA/600 Buffersize 32 MB and

HITACHI TRAVELSTAR 7K 1000 2.5 "1 TB 7200 tr / MIN SATA/600 Buffersize 32 MB.

Both drives are SATA III and the original drive is SATA II.

I tried to work if my laptop can handle a larger drive, but the information I can find is contradictory. I'm very grateful for any help!

If it will take a 500, there will be a 1 to and Yes, do not try to buy the hard drive for HP. buying a retail source for reasons of price. If you buy a 1 TB drive and it doesn't work I'll buy it from you at a cost, I'm sure it will be fine.

    Hello Vishal,

Welcome to the Microsoft community. I appreciate your efforts to resolve the issue. I will certainly help you with the problem you are experiencing.

If you purchased a computer with installed OEM Windows 8 on it, there could be a sticker on the Tower, or in the back (in the case of a laptop) with the product key to this topic. If there is no sticker, he can be preinstalled on your system BIOS.

  • Satellite U840W - replacement SSD with current hybrid HARD drive

I have this model U840W with a hybrid HARD drive (500 GB + 32 GB SSD cache), I would like to replace it with an mSATA SSD. My warranty is left about 2 months... I understand that if I open the bottom cover, the guarantee may be cancelled.

What I don't understand is the "live in the mid under foot rubber", what is the best way to remove it? This seems to be the real challenge. A directive (preferably with photos)?

    Thanks in adv!

    Hello

I wouldn't recommend allows you to replace the hybrid HARD drive on your own even if hand warranty isn't valid anymore.
    Why?
Because the after replacing a drive HARD or SSD, RAID and TSRI (quick start of Intel technology) mode will not be available.

To rebuild the factory RAID mode and allow the TSRI, special tools are needed and this can be done by the authorized Toshiba maintainer.

So even if you would be able to remove the bottom cover and hybrids of HARD drive, the new inserted SSD would not be able to achieve the best performance.

  • Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830 68U118-t with a new hard drive. How can I get the bluetooth to work?

I have an Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830 t-68U118.  The original hard drive died, so I replaced it with a new hard drive.  I loaded Windows 7 x 64 and loaded the chipset drivers and the network drivers.  The laptop is always my bluetooth equipment (even if I loaded the drivers Atheros).  Does anyone else have this problem?  How can I get the bluetooth to work?

It would probably depend on the status of the warranty of the system.

You must contact the service for options.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300-1EA: can I use faster and bigger HARD drive?

So this may seem like a stupid question, but if I intend to spend of the installed 160 GB 5400 RPM HDD of the Satellite Pro A300 1EA to a 7200 RPM drive HARD (do not know the ability yet) and I was wondering how to make recovery disks (downgrade from Vista professional and XP Professional) coming with the work of the laptop with the HARD disk that does not part of factory as drives for my understanding restore the system...

The size of the drive HARD replacement has something to do with the thing?
If the replacement HARD drive is also 160 GB system see the difference? And even if it was smaller or larger the system see the difference?

I have not even bought the laptop but will soon and it is a little urgent.

    Hello

I think that he should t be a problem with an upgrade to a faster and bigger HARD drive.
But before you switch the HARD disk, you must create the Toshiba Recovery DVD using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.
After the recovery disk has been created, you can move the hard drives.

    Best regards

  • Should I replace logic board or cable hard drive? MacBook Pro 13 mid 2012

Hello guys I suffer for the last two weeks of my Macbook Pro would be grateful if you help me.

    Summary:

A few months ago my mac has been slow and when I restart or stop it would take a minute or two, what has not happened in 2012-2014. In 2015, I decided to upgrade my SSHD HDD - Seagate 1 TB (that I'd need more space and a better performance). After that the upgrade of SSHD everything went well, my mac has been rapid, the battery has now 8 hours of battery life (440 + cycles). Overall it was a great experience! However during the night my frozen Mac even the mouse cursor, so I closed my Mac and it set in motion this time he showed me an icon of the slash. I disassembled my Mac and handed the stock HARD drive. This time, he showed the white screen without the disks. I tried several boards of various sites and one from the tip which has been WORKED safe mode! When I restarted, he returned to square one... I used the same trick but it didn't work. Now I see that a white screen on both discs, sometimes the issue icon flashes. Just for you find the hard disk turns but does not recognize... Although she acknowledged on my other Mac.

I just remembered something just before this incident happened, I was cleaning up my Macbook with a small wet towel size (including the liquid soup inside) and then I cleaned the screen, the trackpad and keyboard (some liquid went inside the thing black screen and some of them inside the edges of the trackpad) but I them rinsed quickly. After 2 days, the slash screen appeared, and that's how it started.

I removed the battery to see if there is any corrosion or something unusual about this, I also checked the trackpad, and it wasn't any dry liquid or dust, etc.

    Get to the point:

Currently, I use my Mac through an external SSHD and everything works fine, but I want to stop using this method and thus solve the problem.

    Issues related to the:

What exactly is the problem? Is my logic damaged Board and keep my HARD drive to recognize?

Do you think that my card is fine, but I just need to replace the cable from the hard drive (821-1480) to a new?

What happens if the hard disk thing stuck on the logic board or is damaged?

Please help me and I'm sure that others are also facing a similar question. Another note, why some users claiming that their disk cable hard is to failure after replacing several times?

We do not know "What exactly is the problem?". Get out your computer to an authorized for assessment service center. I suspect that you have caused water damage when the water and soup entered into your computer. Be prepared for a fix expensive since the water, not the soup ir and electronic works well together.

  • Replace the battery and the hard drive or buy a new one?

My 2010 MacBook Pro has stopped working, close and wouldn't start even in safe mode. I brought in a tech support company and I was told that I needed a new hard drive and a new battery, which, as well as data retrieval and transfer would be about $480. I bought my MacBook Pro in 2010 is a little more than 5 years so I guess what is expected. The activity of tech support people told me that, theoretically, the HDD could last even 4-5 years and everything else on that they conducted tests the past. I'm on a budget, and $ 500 is a little money for me to spend, especially if I have to buy a new laptop in a year or two.

If I can get my MacBook with the new hard drive and the battery still 3 to 4 years, I think it will be worth it. So, I ask you your opinion on whether or not it is better for me to replace the hard drive and the battery or buy a new laptop (probably a MacBook Air).

Thanks in advance for your advice!

If you fix the old laptop, you will be able to sell it on Craigslist to help put off the purchase of a new Mac.

Otherwise, it is dead in the water.

This device was shipped with 20 GB HARD drive.

I guess that the BIOS does not recognize the HARD drive because of the size.

  • Satellite A100 - 065 (PSAANA) - can I spend it with a SATA2 HARD drive?

    Hello Forum!

I want to upgrade to a hard disk of 120 GB (Hitachi) to a 500 GB (Western Digital). I don't know if this A100 supports SATA2.

I think it's to do with the hard disk controllers that are on the motherboard. This is information I don't think (using the pc Wizard). I am very happy to use a SATA drive, if it is the one which is compatible, but if it supports SATA 2, then obviously I would install a because they are 3GB of bandwidth instead of 1.5 GB as SATA.

Any help would be greatly appreciated that my hard drive is full.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

You can use a SATA2 HDD without problems. These discs hard are compatible downgrade to the old SATA1 standard, so you can use 500 GB HARD drive, as you suggested.
But don t forget it will not work with SATA1 speeds, but this should not be a problem normally.

So have fun with the new HARD drive! ;)
