  Thank you, Hanspuppa.  I think you have a more recent version of Acronis, I ghost.  However, I was able to solve my problem using the Windows repair disk.  I ghost a disk image (ghost - ib) of my drive hard old man and then did a ' local disk image - of ' put the image on my new drive.  I received the repetitive message "Windows 7 does not normally" but then inserted the windows repair disk and booted from it.  He finds that the boot image on the new drive was bad and repaired.  He did not cela easily - reboot/turn off many times before the finished repair disk, I had and the pc booted from the new hard drive properly.  Now, I can do this with windows 7 and the emulation of hard drive has been to AHCI.  Knit a friend and I tried to do this on an another HP6200 with an image of Windows XP.
