Replacement memory

My laptop is HP Pavilion dv7 1273 cl Entertainment Notebook PC. Product number NB247UAR

It has two 2 GB memory modules and I would replace one of them for a 4 GB module (motherboard supports up to two 4 GB modules).

The HP site shows the following information for the memory of my laptop:

2 GB, 800 MHz, PC2-6400, SDRAM Small Outline Dual In-Line Memory Module (SODIMM)
RoHS: change

I need to know if the next memory is consistent:

Corsair VS4GSDS800D2 4 GB DDR2 PC6400 Laptop Memory Upgrade - 800 MHz, 1x4096MB, Non - ECC, 6-6-6-18

Thank you very much

Fernando

Hi, Fernando:

I used this same memory Patriot in my HP 6910P and 6930p computers laptops professional. Works great!

It's still cheaper now that when I bought it.

Look under the tab specifications. You will see that there is no buffer.

Hello. I know on cisco UCS C460 we can expand the amount of memory using memory riser cards. Memory riser cards are hot-swappable. This means that when I run Win2008R2 Datacenter Server c460 I can hot add and replace the memory riser card memory?

Can I hot replace memory on the motherboard slots?

What UCS server models are supported CPU hot add/replace?

    Dmitry,

Yes the risers of memory are hot-swappable, so assuming that the bare metal OS can support memory added to hot it will work.

There is no DIMM slots on the motherboard directly on the C460.  Memory riser is only motherboard for memory interfaces.

There is no such a thing to my knowledge as an addition to hot CPU on all Cisco platforms.

See the Installation Guide HW for more information:

  • How can I check replacement memory is correct for the following laptop:

I'm considering a purchase in the next 2 months of this device: HP ProBook 4530 s (XU016UT #ABA).  Is there a list indicating the memory that is compatible with this unit of the brand and model?  I'm looking at this particular unit: Corsair Memory - 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3 SODIMM Memory (CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9 The 4530 comes with Win 7 Pro 32 bit OS, so it will use more than 4 GB of memory.)  Thanks for any help you can offer.  Jim.

    Hi, Jim:

This memory should work, but only 4 GB will be usable with a 32-bit operating system. You need a 64-bit operating system to take advantage of more than 4 GB of memory.

When you receive your laptop, call HP at this number below and see if they will send you a W7 Pro 64 bit game of fast laptop restore disks and if you decide to install 8 GB of memory, you can install the 64-bit operating system.  You will need the model number and serial number handy.

    1-800-334-5144

You can use almost no portable PC3-1333 ECC memory.

    This memory will work:

Probably the logic board is having some problems caused by the bad memory or another problem. I would certainly get extract in an Apple Store or service provider.

  • NB100 black screen after memory upgrade

My NB100 works well with the Samsung 1 GB of memory which was included when I bought it, but when I replaced the screen with a new Kingston 2 GB 667 MHz (2 G/VR667D2S5) doesn't show anything when I turn on the laptop back, even if the LED indicators seem normal and fans inside its normal.

I tried a replacement memory (same type of Kingston) - still no luck. I put the old Samsung back and the laptop starts fine.

    Any ideas?

    Hey Buddy,

What NB100 you have exactly? What is the number of exact part of it?

AFAIK NB100 supports only 2 GB of RAM. This means that you can install the module of 1 GB in each slot, but not a 2 GB RAM module will not work.

So, if you want only 2 GB of RAM, you will need to purchase an additional 1 GB module because the NB has two memory slots.

    Hi Fotzou,

I don't have a lot of the information you are looking for, what I found in the Maintenance and Service Guide is a reference to the reference numbers that is known to work in your notebook memory HP. You can find this information on page 47. I have also included the document 'upgrade memory (RAM)'. This will guide you through the steps of verification of the amount of memory can be installed, the maximum memory supported and how to install it.

An option that you always check the HP Shopping web page, to see if there is memory available for your laptop modules there.

    Thank you.

Corsair memory is not compatible with the system?

I have a dual boot and installed ubuntu on this subject. Ubuntu loads perfectly fine, but after a while the system restarts automatically (IE open application).

I tried memorytest86 to test the memory, but the application continue to crash and reboot and does not provide any results.

    Help, please.

The RAM is not compatible. The system allows a maximum total memory of 8 GB and uses DDR3-1333 which downclocks at 1066 speed. You cannot use a single module of 8 GB. 4 gigs is the large single module supports the system. I suspect the memory that you have will work fine if you had modules of 2 x 4 GB instead of a single module of 8 GB. That's why memtest is not finished. The controller memory motherboard is not able to take up 8 GB of RAM by a single channel.

    Anyway my qustions is:

    (1) how can I improve my ram?

    (2) what is the maximum capacity of ram I could achieve is (8 GB) or (16 GB)?

    (3) the most important qustion is how much my laptop has locations of memory is 1 or 2?

as I read the Intel version has 2 slots while the AMD version has 1 location is true?

    I have version intel

and can you give my the specific manual for my product computer notebook

They do not write a specific manual for each single model. The manuals cover a variety of styles. Don't know what you are looking for or what information is still missing for you. You have an i5 processor, so you have 2 memory slots. Maximum memory is 16 gigs... 2 x 8 gig memory DDR3L-1600.

    From the Manual:

housing for module customer accessible/upgradable memory 1 or 2 (depending on model) 2 slots: DDR3L - 1600 MHz Dual Channel Support (Core processors)

Supports up to 16 GB of RAM in the following configurations: 16384 MB total system memory ● (8192 × 2)

Replacement memory is on p. 76. You need to remove the motherboard. It is not easy and requires a very detailed membership of the procedure described in the manual. It will compromise security.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One or maybe two sticks of memory failed. If it's not very common to have two fail - it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace both if you can afford it. You could also spend 4 GB of the 2 GB, you have now.

Crucial is always a reliable source of memory and they have single sticks or a set. Click on 'Show memory more compatible upgrades' under the memory listed to see the simple sticks and sets:

    http://www.crucial.com/USA/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/Presario-cq57-229wm

You can remove a memory stick at a time and run the test to determine if one or both is a failure. Your interview Guide & shows how remove and replace memory:

    FP6 DDR2

    DDR2 PC6400 DUAL LLK

    SPEEED 800 MHz

    CASE 4-4-4-12

After the replacement, the computer will work only for a few minutes before restarting. Or bluescreening. I tried to take two of the DIMM, moving them to different locations, try 2 DIMM at a time in different locations, etc.. No joy.

And, it seems not much faster than elsewhere.

Replacement memory with DIMMs original restored the computer to normal operation.

So I wonder if Fry gave me a non-compliant memory. I hope so.

If your LCD is blue and you get the error of memory/battery on each startup, then you need to replace memory RAID (99% chance that it is rarely a defective battery or the riser).  The operating system will not usually start in this scenario.

If your LCD is amber and a message about the scrolling ROMB battery voltage, you should replace the RAID battery (sometimes it's because of riser).  The operating system will usually start and work very well in this scenario.

First of all, stop playing with readers and replace the memory RAID (and battery and lift to be 100% sure).  Once it is replaced, due to all mixture player you have done, you might have a few steps very careful to recover your data and make your table online.  When you're ready to do this (again, it is useless before repairing the message memory/battery), call Dell technical support - it's always free on servers, regardless of the status of the guarantee.
