Replacement of blackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Curve 8530 antennas

I have a problem no signal that Virgin Mobile is unable to explain, other than that suggests, it might be a problem with the phone itself. I found that the internal antenna replacement part is available and cheap, so I want to try to do it myself.  There are several videos of total disassembly on YouTube etc, but nothing I found the focus on the antenna. So, my question is what do I have to remove to get to the antenna?

TIA

Ed

The antenna is located in the box under the bezel lower, under the keyboard.

What all you need... remove the back, forward, the bottom bezel.

IF you're not replacing the antenna will fix it, are you?

Is it possible to reset factory a blackberry curve 8530 that doesn't have a battery?

Hello and welcome to the community!

Nope... for a BB power flow from the battery, which can receive comments from a charger. But the gear all power stems from a battery. So, without having one, you can't do what you want.

    Good luck!

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Curve 8530 has stopped responding during the wipe - I'm in trouble!

    Hey Gang,

I'm in a bit of a jam and I hope someone here can help. I searched the forum for an answer but couldn't locate one.

I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 and he knows some from time to time to gel.

    Model: BlackBerry Curve 8530

    Carrier: Koodo Mobile (Canada)

    Software version: Bundle 5.0 1108

I decided tonight to backup all my data and do a "Wipe of security" in the menu options.

I selected these two options, type "blackberry" and clicked on "wipe".

I currently have the popup on my screen that says:

    "Deleting information...".
WARNING: do not pull the battery until the erasure is complete. »

On top of this popup is the formidable clock Blackberry with him will hand turns around and around (like an hourglass would be on a PC when it is "thought").

It has been like this for nearly two hours now and seems to not react any longer.

    UPDATE:

OK... good news... of all kinds...

The phone has finally turned on and proceeded to go up through the deletion process and it now on the home screen.

Now, the only problem is that when I wiped it off, the programs that I had downloaded previously are still on the device so it didn't completely wipe it off as I intended.

I'll try another rag and hope for the best.

    See you soon!
    Jeff

  • Troubled Smartphone blackBerry sync Blackberry Curve 8530 for Outlook

I have a new Blackberry Curve 8530.  When I put in place, I was able to sync my calendar Outlook for the BB but not my contacts.  I was unable to sync my contacts because it says that my BB has been implemented for wireless synchronization.  I tried to follow the instructions for tea off wireless sync, but when I go into options in my contacts there is no wireless synchronization field to change.  What Miss me?

Also, I've updated my operating system, and now I am unable to sync my calendar.  When I try to select data from the organiser at synronize, it wont let me select Calendar because it is said that schedule is not installed (and it won't let me select address book, because he says that it is wireless synchronization).   I reinstalled my BB Desktop software, and I read on another post that gmail can be a problem, so I don't have my gmail account on my BB. Help!

When I open my BB Desktop manager on my computer, I get a message saying "unknown error reported," it's why I reinstalled my Destop software, but I still receive this message after reinstalling.

    Thank you.

It is once again the OP who has now solved its problem.  In case anyone has the same problem, it turns out that you cannot synchronize your bb to a VPN calendar.  So, I managed to change my default calendar for gmail by going to Options and then Advanced Options, and then click default Services - you can select your default calendar and address books here.

Like others on this forum, I lost my keyboard lock when I upgraded, and I am following to the other threads on this issue.

  • BlackBerry smartphones I can't get my Blackberry Curve 8530 is displayed on my computer while it is plugged attempt 2nd in. HELP. PLEASE?

    I have a Blackberry Curve 8530.

I try to use the USB cord they gave me to connect my blackberry curve 8530 to the computer so I can open my files as I used with my old curve. It will not appear in "my computer". I have checked, the card Support on, Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) on, Mass Storage Mode Support on the Compression and Auto enable Mass Storage Mode when connected Yes

    Hello

You have installed the software necessary for your PC? It is necessary for your PC to have the appropriate drivers to recognize the BB as a mass storage device. See this post:

The post is dated, so some of the settings may be in the wrong place. In addition, the version discussed is outdated... just use the latest version of DTM and you should be fine. You can get the versions here:

  • BlackBerry - BlackBerry Curve 8530 Smartphones question

I charge my new BlackBerry Curve 8530 about now, and I was checking if its charge or not because he had only the flashing light, flashing orange and nothing else. Because it is charging for an hour or two.

I accidentally turn on the BlackBerry so quickly turn it off to let it continue loading. But when I disable, the orange blink wasn't more flashing so I unplug the charger and plug it back quickly.

My question is: will this affect the length of the battery when I use the phone because I unplugged it this first charge? If so, how?

    Thank you

There is no right or wrong answer to this. It is up to you. I load mine up until it gets to 100%

  • BlackBerry Smartphones quite confused newbie with (iMac) & Blackberry Curve 8530 ordered

I thought I posted this before but can't ind station. Maybe I'm in the wrong bench?

Need to synchronize information on BB Curve 8530 with my iMac, Mobile me up and use to sync iPod Touch - questions are:

1 can I disable MM before you install Blackberry software for Mac (Snow Leopard)?  I need to be able to sync contacts/address book, iCal with the new phone and am afraid of conflicts so I don't "disable Mobile Me.

2 have you also looked at Mark/Space software to sync Curve 8530 - it might be a better program to sync with iMac - someone uses this or do you use the Balckberry software?

    3. do I have on the right forum for these questions I changed my subscription and I am in the right but not sure, so pls be kind enough to redirect me...

    thx for your patience.

    Hello, petunia

Before you install the BlackBerry Desktop Software I would recommend support to the top of your address book and iCal on your Mac. Do this please open your address book, and then select the file (in the top menu) > export > Address Book Archive, and then click Save and placed on the desktop. Let then open iCal and select file > export > iCal Archive and click Save to place them on the desktop as well.

You are now ready to install the BlackBerry Desktop Manager on your Mac. You don't need to disable mobile me to do this. After installation, restart your Mac and open the app to BlackBerry Desktop manager (it will be located in your main applications on the Mac folder). Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your smart phone BlackBerry for Mac.

After the device is recognized and connected, you will have to configure synchronization settings. To do it please click on the items you want to synchronize under information and then select two way to sync with the calendar to sync or Sync Contacts(In the middle of the page). Once this operation is complete, you can go ahead and click the sync button located on the top right to start the synchronization process. During synchronization it will alert you that it's your first synchronization and it is recommended to replace the data on the BlackBerry smartphone. Please select this option to overwrite the data so that all the information of iMac you will be synchronized on your BlackBerry Smartphone.

Once it is complete, you can eject your BlackBerry Smartphone by pressing the key of eject located in the lower right of the program.

Thank you and you defenatly in the right place!

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Curve 8530 stuck on reboot

I have a curve 8530. This morning he updated an application and went to restart, and now it is stuck at 2/3 of the way to reboot. Can I do to solve this problem?

Really, the battery for five minutes, replace and try from the restart.

Is to let rest for awhile when it hits the 2/3 mark... after 15-20 minutes, if not go away... then read below.

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.
    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8530 Smartphone - want to install Spanish keyboard

    Hello

I would like to know if there is a way to install the Spanish keyboard in my BB Curve 8530. My carrier is Boost Mobile. I saw another similar post (tent install Hebrew) but I don't know if it's the same process or if it will work.

Some say Boost Mobile said they support Spanish (perhaps instructions or technical support) but when I called to ask how to use Spanish characters (n, a, e, i, o, u, u) they said that my device won´t. Now, I know that their tech support (like many others) are people not even inside the United States, so I am not very confident, I had the best answer, not even not a good thing.

    Any help?

    I found it!

    Anyone interested to get:

    AEIOU Nn

Click on the Blackberry icon key select Options, then on SMS, then scroll to data coding and Ministry it ASCII Latin. This will do the trick, now you can go to SMS and take the n an e I o u key and scroll using the trackpad... ready! (Spanish: ready!)

  • Sprint blackBerry Curve 8530 - EVDO Rev Smartphones has?

I see conflicting information on the web...

Some sites say the 8530 has EVDO Rev 0, others say EVDO Rev A.

Is Blackberry anyone can confirm what version of EVDO is supported for this phone?

    Thank you!

    Thanks for the tip.

I talked to the (chat) somone in the Sprint and also met with the Blackberry technical support.

The answer I got back was it's Rev A, but the Blackberry person said "I think it's Rev" and call Sprint tech support and gave me a number of votes to call.

I called and talked to someone at Sprint technical support.  He looked at for 1/2 hour but can't find an answer.  I enjoyed telling him simply that he did not know.

So, I went to the local Verizon store.

The person in the store pulled up on the info on the computer.

    He said Rev 0.

I thought that maybe there was a typing error, because the curve and the Tower otherwise have very similar characteristics.  Same processor clocked at the same speed, the same amount of ROM and RAM.

So, I decided to test the Tour vs Curve 8530.

(Google "blackberry speed test" to find the app)

The curve had 46 kbps maximum.

    A sheer tour 284 kbit/s.

Thus, at least for Verizon, the 8530 isn't Rev.

This should not really at all unless you tie (which I do).
