Replacement of processor (Intel® Core™ i7-4510U [2.0]) of the HP Envy 15 (K002NE)

Hey HP Masters and Gururs!

I bought the HP Envy 15 (K002NE) a few days ago. To be honest, I was so dumb for investegating no more info about the procssor. I picked up "Dual Core" and this is the 2.0 I thought it is 2.6.

Here are my questions to the community and master offcouse:

A link to my laptop:

-> http://www8.hp.com/emea_middle_east/en/products/laptops/product-detail.html?oid=7178661#! tab = function...

->, Is it possible that I can replace/upgrade my processor?

-> Can someone link me to the PDF document where I can see more useful procssors that I can use for my laptop?

-> I want to go from 2.0 to 3.2 or 3.4 is it possible?

Please point me in the right direction.

Kind regards

Bilal

Unfortunately no, processor is attached to the motherboard of the system.

    Thank you

    Hello

I'm sorry, but you cannot use the Core i5 - 2540M. You must use the processor Core i5 - 480 M. Some laptops series G6 such as ones of G6-1200 use chips from the second generation, so the manual you have is a general for all laptops to G6. The first generation Intel processors use a different socket than the second. A possible compatibility for Intel processors is when you have an Ivy Bridge chipset third generation) and you can use a Sandy Bridge CPU (2nd generation)...

Nope.  Intel chips use different chipsets and different the SB of AMD processor sockets.  If your computer is equipped with an AMD processor you must upgrade with an AMD processor.

  • How concerned I'd be on a new processor Intel Core i7 Extreme 990 X CPU to erroneous reading of sensor?

My concern is when the CPU is idling temperature to heart #5 990 x is less than ambient temperature, i.e. 20 degrees celsius while the temperature is 25 degrees.  Also, the adjacent core #4 is at 36 degrees, which is higher than all the other four cores.

Has anyone here with an x 990 experiences something similar, or heard about something like that?  This could be a serious flaw and I contact Intel?

FYI, this replaces an i7 950 CPU because it is running the mid to high 90 degrees celsius when transcoding in Encore CS 5.1.

I7 990 x transcodes: a 7 minute test clip in less than 9 minutes and not one of the cores more than 72 degrees celsius (the i7 950 has taken almost double the time).

In the hope that you hear.

    See you soon,.

    Michael

    Michael,

Your "low temperature" (lower than ambient) is strange. Are you by chance using a CPU cooler with Peltier technology (i.e. Cooler Master V10) who actually performs as cooling refrigerator?

Regarding your temperature difference of 6-core core individual under OC heavy and heavy loads, I looked back to my notes from OC'ing and maximum variance temperature reached (and comparing the coolest basic playback to the hottest basic reading) varied between 8 degrees c. and as much as 13 degrees C. I can't really explain it, but it didn't really bother me either: everything seems to work very well.

    Kind regards

  • No matter what video played in my firefox always flashes. My operating system is Mac OS x 10.6.8 running on the processor intel core duo. 32-bit computer

Whenever I watch videos on firefox, it continues to blink away. The issue is not reproducible on Safari. My MacBook works on intel core duo 32-bit with 1 GB of RAM

    Hello

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    1. Open the Firefox Options (Preferences on Mac or Linux) as follows:

      • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

then select Options Preferences on Mac or Linux, or Windows.

      • In 28.0 Firefox and earlier versions, click on the Firefox orange upper-left button, then select the 'Options' button or, if there is no button up Firefox, go to tools > Options.
    2. In the window of Firefox Options (or preferences), click on the Advanced tab, and then select general.
    3. You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    4. Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site and check for Windows XP "64 Bit" drivers for your specific model number.

If there are drivers Windows XP then download to a folder on your hard drive, burn it to a CD and then install all of them (if XP started ok), starting with the card mother/chipset, SATA, LAN, Audio, drivers, and so on.

Impoverish suggests that you create a backup of Windows 7 Image before starting the installation of XP.

An i3 class computer should be very able to run Windows 10 without any significant problems.

Reported on Acer community site that this model has been upgraded successfully, but it is not on the list of the devices supported Acer. This means only that Acer themselves have not tested, given the age to be provided.

Install a clean however known to give better results than an upgrade. If you have questions look to backup your data and completely wipe the system to reinstall Windows 10.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Usually, this is caused by outdated or incompatible graphics drivers on your host.  I expect that the latest drivers for your integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 would be probably already delivered through Windows Update, however.  Could be interesting to see if there is an optional update in your Windows Update list to get a new graphics driver.

Otherwise, you can try the problem by disabling 3D graphic acceleration: from the VM menu, select settings..., and then in the list of material , choose display.  Clear (uncheck) the box 3D graphic acceleration .

    I hope this helps!

  • HP Compaq 8510p: is it possible to update from the Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 CPU on the HP Compaq 8510p to a T9600

    Hi all

I want to upgrade my HP Compaq 8510p.

I have an Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 installed. It's pretty fast, but I would need to increase the RAM memory. Unfurtunately, it only supports 3 GB. I searched the web and found the T9600. Similarly, the T9700 and the Q9100 have a the same base (P) and have been suggested here: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Core_2_Duo_Mobile/T8300 _ (Socket_P) .html

On the other hand, I've read, the Quad may not be supported by the motherboard, which im my case seems to be called 30CS KBC Version 71.36

My BIOS version is the Ver.F.15 of 68MVD

I would be grateful for any help regarding this issue.

    Thank you.

    Alex

Here is the Service Manual that answers all the questions:

    Your manual

See p. 24. Top of page processor listed is a T9500. Quad is not supported. Other processors dual-core as a T9900 might work, but you're better off to take the manual is correct.

The laptop can support that 3 GB RAM because you are not running a 32 bit OS. It is capable of up to 8 GB, but it uses DDR2 and 8 GB of DDR2 memory is very expensive; well over US $100.

If it's 'the Answer' please click on 'Accept as Solution' to help others find it.

  • to upgrade the bios on an hp dv4t-1400 with processor intel what file do you use in the sp48847

I downloaded the HP website sp48847 and extract the files, but I don't know who. FD to use file.

I have a 1400 dv4t with P7350 intel processor and bios are corrupt. It does not Flash by using the process of disconnecting the power remove the battery hold down power key B pluging and windows by pressing the power button / stop then release the keys B, button / stop and windows. It doesn't detect usb drive with any file flash bios on this subject, and I rename the file in 30F7. BIN.  At this point, I have to remove bios chip and flash with spi Flash bios I have. My only problem is that I don't know who. FD to use file.  I would be grateful if any body can help to know what file to use or a better idea altogether.

I was told that the file 30F7F66D. FD is for 30F7F66U and AMD processor. FD is for processor intel, but I can't be sure since I have to remove and replace. I also use another computer to download these files and load on the wheel.   Dv4t-1400 does not start.

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

Thanks again HaggisCat for more information on this problem. After a lot of research

I found a thread that has answered my question, the 30F7F66D file. FD is for discrete graphics and the 30F7F66U.fd file for

integrated graphics (UMA).  Just thought I would give you insight in the case where you never came across this problem.

    Thanks again for your response.

Understand that the factory, which is what you get when you use the HP recovery media, erase the drive, deleting all data, settings, and applications.  He returned to the PC of the State is was in when you first unboxed it.

If that's what you want, then you need to order recovery HP media.  It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP.
