Replacement tool color using Images?

I tried to understand how this artist created for this purpose, but I'm still totally lost.

It seems almost as if the tool replacement of color over the flowers, he was able to get a photo out there without losing the texture of flowers.

Someone has an idea how to do this?

I'm sure it's a little more, more the very selected topic, various masking. Simple things can take several coats to achieve. It's one of the things on the misconception on Photoshop: people think it's just a few keys and... Presto, you have a stunning picture. Most of these images take a lot of trial and error, many layers, many ways of folding and masking to make them work.

As far as I know, Variations has been removed from the service standard/extended cs6 photoshop and photoshop cc on the side of mac

You can use the levels instead of variations.

  • FW CS4 color using image replacement is not working

I work through the examples on lynda.com (Macbook Pro, OS FW 10.0.0.495 10.5.6) and tool replacement of color, when the source is from the Image of the bitmap doesn't seem to work at all. If I move from Swatch and then click on the image to select the color it works but picture mode does not work. I use the image of surf4.jpg in the exercise of Jim Babbage.

Wow... nothing like that get help directly from the source. Thank you very much. It is not a big deal in itself as I can make it work using Swatch and then simply use the Eyedropper to select the replacement color. Not sure if it's a Windows vs. Mac thing either. I have tried a reboot and then loaded the same image in and it worked the second time. Don't know exactly what happens next. He seems to have been a "random" event, but always kind of strange so I guess that I spend much time on it, but it's annoying when it happens.

Up to Chapter 7 on your lynda.com training. Very helpfuly indeed. Lynda.com rocks and I found all the instructors that I have used so far to be very informative and useful. I often come back to the classes that I took for quick refreshers on a tip or a procedure that I remember I did, but could not remember the details.

    Thank you very much

  • Color replacement tool - selected swatch is different from what is painted

I spent hours trying to solve it, so the new position.  I'm changing the shirt colors for specific RGB numbers for a site that sells T-shirts.  I tried image > adjustments > replacecolors and am now trying the color replacement tool.  All works fine EXCEPT the color of the shirt does not match the color, I selected in the color picker.   I feel like there is something not checked, but I check opacity, blend, etc..  What else could I try?

    Color replacement tool.JPG

You have set the tool to change the color (hue and saturation), while preserving the brightness (brightness/clarity) of the region you repainted.  And you painted something quite dark.

You are only ingredients in 2 of the 3 coordinated colors. If you painted all 3, you would have a flat color (like a Paint Bucket fill), not a replacement of realistic colors.

You can use the settings to lighten or darken the shape that you change after the replacement of the color.

No, he didn't need to go to the LAB and make things more complicated.

  • Why the Replace Color tool does not replace my color?

    I have the following situation:

    White in the image.

    Choose the color replacement tool

    Choose a red color

    Apply the white color tool

    Nothing happens

    Change color to light mode

Receive a brownish band where the tool is applied

Change the color mode and apply the tool to brownish band

Receive a red strip, where was formerly the brownish one.

See the three States of the image in the attachment.

Why was not applied in the first and replaced color replacement tool white with red?

    stripes.jpg

White is not one any colour change, because there is nothing to change.  Try to place a filled layer of red, above a layer filled with white and setting the blending mode of the layer of the red color to the color.  It just goes to white.  Now fill in the color of white background with grey wire (any value will do.  The darker the gray, the more saturated the Red will become.  Less of the tracks until you get 50% gray.  From there in complete darkness, it becomes darker. When you reach the full black, once more, there is nothing for the color work on, and it appears black.

It is a useful exercise of understanding how to mix work modes.

  • How can I make the color replacement tool works correctly?

I want to turn black to green in a chart B & w.  Here's the chart that I start by:

    celtic cross.png

Here are the directions I followed (EP 13):

    Replacement of color

    • Select the tool, color replacement (the tool replace color is part of the Brush Tool Options bar).
    • Menu, choose a brush in the options bar. Mode, as a general rule, you'll want to keep the blending mode set to color.
    • For limits, choose one of the following:

Batch Replaces the color sampled, wherever it occurs under the pointer of.

Contiguous Replaces colors that are contiguous with the color under the pointer.

  • To tolerance, specify a small percentage to replace colors very similar to the pixel you click, or increase the percentage to replace a wider range of colors.
  • To give a smooth edge areas that you correct, select anti-aliased.
  • Choose the required sampling method. The available options are:

Continues Continuous color samples, when you drag the color replacement tool.

Once Samples of color only once, when you begin to drag the color replacement tool.

  • Background swatch Replaces the box containing the background color, whenever you drag the color on it replace tool.

  • Choose a foreground color to use to replace the unwanted color.
  • Click the color you want to replace in the image.
  • Drag the image to replace the target color.
  • And here is the result I get:

    celtic cross - green.png

I chose very carefully the darker more deep black as the color to be replaced and all blacks should have turned to green, but only gray pixels on the edges did it.  Oh, and here's a screenshot selected as I am, even though I have tried many different combinations:

Help? I am a novice, so I need descriptive and explicit suggestions.  Thank you!!

There are means other than the color tool replacement for what you want to do, which is to add color to a drawing in black or any other color.

-First of all, use the magic wand tool to select the color (here black). You should see the "mobile dash" around the shape. Do not forget to uncheck "continuous."

-Create a new layer while keeping the active selection (new layer in the layer Panel icon)

-Menu Edition/fill selection"." Choose your destination color.

The new layer now holds your shape with the color you have chosen.

  • I need to replace a color on my image with a specific part of the image color.  How do I?

I spent over 2 hours trying to figure out how to replace a color on a part of my image with a specific color indicated on another part of the image.  So far, I was able to go to "Replace color" on my version of Adobe Photoshop, but it seems that I can only change the hue and brightness of the color that it is currently.  I need to use a specific color, so this didn't help me.  Does anyone know how to complete the task that I refer to?

In addition, please keep in mind that I use Adobe Photoshop 6.0, not a fancy cs version or whatever it is.  So it's fairly old school...

Any help/comments are greatly appreciated!  Thank you.

    Hello

In fact, you can choose a specific color using the replace color function!

Go to Image > adjustments >, replace color

Select the color you want to replace. Then, click on the 'Result' box in the section of replacement (see below)

A color picker dialog box opens, where you can use the eyedropper tool to select a specific color in your image, or you can enter the specific RGB/CMYK values.

Please post again if you have any other questions - I use CS6, but as far as I know, this process works the same for PS 6.0.

    Good luck!

  • color replacement tool

10 items, when I use the color replacement tool to replace the Red nail polish on a photo, I set the foreground color rose, but the replacement of color sets a dark gray color?

You cannot use this tool this way in the last two versions of PSE. It will replace a color with another color, but that's all. You can't make red to pink, although you should be able to make red to green equivalent. You would be better to use something like a hue/saturation adjustment layer. The color replacement tool is simply too difficult to control. It seems broken.

  • How to create a screen in RGB color using vision tools?

I would like to be able to move the sliders and produce a change in brightness of the pixel on the display screen.  A slider (U8) for R, a green and a blue.  Combining these in a 32-bit RGB data set, I understand.  I can even 'create image' that uses 32-bit RGB format.  BUT it doesn't seem to be a display of the IMAQ function to show on a screen.

    Thoughts anyone?

Use the picture fill (icon a picture of classic paint runs) to set all pixels of an image of the same color.  Before that, use create image and frame for the installer size.

If you don't want to use an image display, you can still use a white vi or a great witness Boolean (classic palette works best) and set their color using nodes property.

  • The standard for Adobe Stock license allow me to use images inside a coloring book for resale?

My object header pretty much everything says. I would use images inside a coloring book and also like to use images inside books for children - both for resale. The standard license will allow this? I understand that you are not supposed to sell a single image as a poster, t-shirt or a Cup, but I'm looking to embed multiple images in a project that would have additional items.

    Hi @stephenw21137983,.

No, the standard license does not allow this use. He takes an extended license for each image that you want to use in the coloring book, as the images are the main value of books coloring.

  • replace the color documents tool or shortcut?

    Hello

From time to time when I'm exhausted by looking at the screen (I'm an electrical engineering PhD student), I like to switch to high contrast color schemes. But now the to do, I have to through editing, preferences, availability and then click on replace document colors. Is there not an easier way to do this, as a keyboard shortcut key, or if I can't add a tool that does it for the toolsets?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Berker,

In my view, there is no this keyboard shortcut to perform this task immediately.

However, you can directly open preferences by pressing Ctrl + K (or command-k if you are on mac) and then access the accessibility settings quickly.

    Kind regards

The knife tool develops a black line on the objects that I colored using the live paint bucket. How to get the tool knife to stop this and instead of being invisible?

I understand that it is a live paint object you use.

    Try this:

  • replace black color

8669c8ccea987661a1dd9252eb84240e_1.jpgI need to replace black in the present with other options of color for my friend who is the designer and wants to see how other color combinations work and I tried replacing bothe color and hue saturation methods but they allows firstly the bizarre neony results and works at all. Any ideas? Thank you! :))

    Hi Carmel,

Its black never easy evolution how be it in Photoshop. A girl with black hair generally turn a blonde is closing impossible to do convincingly. As soon as you lift the luminance of the lack of detail information appears immediately. However, it may be false. Do not expect to be able easily to bright yellow or orange intense and keep it looking real.

If this level of quality is high enough to you how you do it. I'm afraid that this is not a topic to beginners but if all goes well

    You can experiment

First take the original image and reproduce them. We are working on the layer duplicate or higher.

    (1) with the tool lasso around all black areas draw. Here is a very rough selection

    (2) in a store the selection in quick mask mode.

    (3) go to the color range. What we were doing before was only to give color range, a good starting point, do not make a good choice.

In the drop-down list select shadows and if you set the blur, but its not required. This will give a reasonable

selection of black areas. Create a layer mask so only the black areas are visible. You will always have the original image in the stack of layers provides the background.

    (4) now how the color is changed. Create a gradient above the hidden layer map. Set the layer mode to color. You may need to pick up the cards degraded, but essentially, you have a simple gradient and color at one end of the gradient is mapped on the darks of a picture

and the color at the other end is mapped to the light of an image. Gross over simplification, but it is the principal. So, if you start with a simple

black-white gradient and change the black to tell red he maps the color red to dark areas of the image. The white end of the gradient can be left in the

White as the image is largely black. You need to cut the card of the hidden layer gradient - that is important. You will find black in the object will be replaced by the red, but the bottom layer is not affected.

    (5) now, create a hue saturation adjustment layer and clip that to the gradient map. You will find you can now move the hue and change saturation

    and even the luminance.

    (6) Finally, use a curves layer to fine-tune the contrast.

I've only used a red on white gradient here, but you could experiment with several layers of the gradient map and this will probably give you a better range of colors

    Hope that helps

    Terri
