Replacing the screen on the Satellite C660-2EH

Hi, I'm looking for a replacement screen for my Satellite C660-2EH and I can't find a specific model. I could buy the generic screen come to label C660? In some I found, for example:

http://www.laptop-power.co.UK/laptop-screens/Toshiba-compatible/satellite/series-C660/model-C660.html

http://www.laptopscreenonline.com/Toshiba-Satellite-C660-replacement-screen-laptop-LCD-15982-p.asp

Would appreciate any help that someone could give me on this matter, thank you!
Zoe.

In my view the two links are OK, and you can't do anything wrong. AFAIK all C660 models use the same LCD display with following specifications:

Display Type - color display TFT LCD
Size (diagonal) - 15.6 "(HD)
Resolution - 1366 x 768
-16:9 aspect ratio
Type of LED lighting - light side.

Only the difference can be a salesman or the brightness to level 8.

When you order this use being it's HD LED screen.

By the way: you want to exchange it only? I mean it's not so easy and if you don t have any experience with this kind of things that you should ask for help.

Be careful about this.

Go to http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_manuals.jsp and download the manuals for your laptop satellite. On the page, 152, you will find accurate instructions what should you do if your laptop is stolen.

I imagine that your insurance needs some information like serial number, but we cannot help you with this. Info that we can give you is the model number and it is PSC0LE-01100JEN. Check first what kind of information your insurance want to have.

  • Slow down the Satellite C660 - physical memory 93%

    Hello

Asked me to replace a screen on my Satellite C660 sons, of whom one.
After testing the laptop, I noticed that it was incredible slow. I asked him why he was so slow, and he says he was always slow because he bought 10 months ago to Argos (it s her first laptop and it is not very computer savvy)

In any case, I ran a scam and spyware anti-virus and nothing was found.
So I decided to do a factory reset (f8) but the problem is still there.
My other son who lives with me as the same laptop (only difference is a pro) and the difference between then as night and day.

I noticed that physical memory is always about 93% without anything running in the Task Manager and its fan is constantly every minute or so.

What is the exact model number Satellite C660-xxx
RAM memory how this laptop stand?

For most system runs slowly because of the high amount of processes that are running in the background.
It s advisable to check the MSCONFIG Startup tab and disable some really important processes.
I also recommend cleaning with CCLeaner system and possibly the RAM should be improved if it s too low.

  • Upgrade of RAM up to 8 GB on the Satellite C660-180

    Hey guys,.

Thanks a lot for taking a peek at my post.
I have the Satellite C660-108. I think the upgrade to 3 GB up to 8 GB ram.
I'll be very grateful if someone could answer my questions before making a purchase.

It is a model of Ram. I think of buying.

Kingston HyperX Plug and Play DDR3 1600 MHz CL9 8GB SODIMM Memory Module

I wonder if it would correspond to my laptop?

Also, I found this on C660-108

Type: IntelĀ® Graphics Media Accelerator HD
amount of memory: 1 273 MB shared memory with 3 GB of installed system memory and up to 1 696 MB with 4 GB of system memory, (with system of 64-bit pre-installed operating)
    memory type: shared.

If I update up to 8 GB ram it would mean my graphics system memory will be up 3 392 MB as well?

    Thank you very much.

    Kit

According to the technical page of Toshiba laptop, 8 GB of RAM (2 x 4 GB) are certainly possible.
Kingston is a good manufacturer of RAM and provide good quality modules.

The RAM modules should support the following sepcs:
    DDR3 1066 MHz (PC3-8500)

Processor PENTIUM P6100 (2.00 GHZ) supports a 1,066 MHZ FSB and therefore the PC3-8500 must operate at full speed 1066 MHz

    > f I upgrade ram to 8 GB it would mean my graphics system memory will be up 3 392 MB as well?
More RAM means more can be shared with the GPU, but this is controlled by the graphics driver automatically.

  • Modeling 3D (Sketch Up) programs keep crashing on the Satellite C660 - 28 d

    Hi guys,.

Obtained the Satellite C660 - 28 d to Christmas as my old laptop was dying on its feet. So far I've had no problems with it, except for when you use a selection of programs, namely Sketch Up and the rhinoceros are two 3D modeling programs. Strangely enough, AutoCAD Revit works great, I have imagined would have been more demanding on the system.

When Rhino opening he allows me to choose my model before crashing and displaying a message saying "Rhino 4.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close" and with Sketch Up I get again select a model but then a message saying "Google SketchUp has produced a bug splat and needs to close" followed by a similar error report form that never works when I try and send the error. This is happening on SketchUp 8, after having uninstalled and reinstalled SketchUp 8 and then uninstall and install SketchUp 7, all with the same result.

It has been suggested to me that there is an error with the graphics card and I have to download a driver, but the only driver on the Toshiba site that would make sense to me is the display driver, I have installed and makes no difference.

Please help me, I need the use of these types of programs for the University.

    Hello

It is possible to have these problems because of display driver.
You should maybe contact the software manufacturer and ask for help. Toshiba doesn't third party software support. Software maker has better experience with own product. I presume that what they have tested on different platforms and need to know what can be the problem.

  • How can I disable tap-to-click on the Satellite C660/C660D?

There is no option to disable it on this laptop, I looked for the answer online but nothing, there seems to be no way to do it on this laptop model. I tried to download the new driver for touchpad of the site but had absolutely no effect and gave me more options to turn it off, it has changed nothing. Now completely stuck and its driving me crazy!

The mouse click also on its own randomly even if Im not to touch, always seems to hurt when im game.

I still want to use the touch pad to move the pointer autour, just don't want to use it to click.

As far as I know the Satellite C660 supports Synaptics touchpad.
The Synaptics touchpad driver should support the tap to click option.

In order to ensure that Synaptics driver has been installed.
Then go to control panel-> mouse-> last tab (button settings)
Now, you need to access the properties of Synaptics and here you should find the option called tapping

Original Toshiba WLAN driver is pre-installed on your computer?

To be honest, it is not easy to say why this show is starting to happen so suddenly.
Try to back up OS to an earlier time using System Restore tool just to see if the problem will still be there.

  • Re: Overheating and lag issues on the Satellite C660/C660D

    Hello community of Toshiba

I am a new user of Toshiba, I have a new Toshiba laptop as a model of its Satellite C660 / C660D, I use my new laptop for 6 months and I have some kind of a lot of time on my laptop. Sometimes I keep it open for more than 10 hours.

My problem is like 3-4 months at the bottom right of the screen there is a caution came out as "there's something wrong with your hard drive, you should give it to any service of Toshiba for warranty".
But it happened because I played on users, I mean users option for windows, not something material, changing just the current user name caused this and he now has weird name when I reversed the name change; He turned to something like TOSH ~ 1, etc.

After several times, I mean like 1 month ago, my computer got very slow. Video games with their high resolution, but now the phone LAGS even I put it in low resolution, I played... I did not change any material or touched. But it is frustrating to see that I can't do the things I used to do more.

Another thing is, I'm afraid of the heat from the laptop. Is it normal to have 49-50 degrees? Because when I play games, it is around this level. I live in a hot city.

Some people asked me to use HD Tune to check that if I have a bad sector on the hard drive, I did. Does not work either.
I deleted some of my files to get the free space on my HARD drive also, likely 150 concerts altogether. I even wiped the empty space in my HDD via CCleaner. I often do the basis of registry-fix with it as well. Movies and games flash hangs out as well. And sometimes when I watch videos, the sound cuts, so I have to pause, and then click play it again to fix it but it happens in various video players, not youtube. Very probably all watching anime.

And what do I do? I don't want to go for the service, I'm sure they'll make me wait several weeks of 100%. I use usually my laptop with its adapter. Oh and, over the life of my laptop, 2 - 3 times he got stopped himself while it wasn't on the map whenever I check, he was really but really hot.

So, what should I do? I don't want to open the computer to look inside, I do not understand, and he would risk my 2 year warranty.

I am looking forward for your answers, I'll be very happy. Thank you.

It is not easy to say what the problem is here. In General, you should think about upgrading the RAM to the maximum level. With more RAM laptop should have more power and different operations should be made much more quickly.

To make my laptop better and faster I ve upgraded RAM to the maximum level and also changed SSD HARD drive. So big difference there and phone now works like a rocket. Think about upgrading RAM.
    > Another thing is, I'm afraid of the heat from the laptop. Is it normal to have 49-50 degrees?
From my point of view, this temperature is normal and certainly not too high. When you use your laptop, place it on the office and ensure that the cooling fan and cooling rack are free and not blocked.

Don t open your laptop. Anyway, you can't do anything except to void your warranty. RAM upgrade can be done by the owner of the laptop and it will not void your warranty.

  • While the Satellite C660 just games close

    Hello

Recently bought a Toshiba Satellite C660:

    i3, 3gig of Ram, Windows 7 64 bit.

So, I use this for my small business and it works perfectly, I love it.

However, last night, I played Football Manager 2011 and during the simulation, part graphic game relatively high, the laptop just closed, completely off, twice. In both cases, the fan was working overtime.

Should I return it to the place where I bought it?

    > Should I return it to the place where I bought it?
    Why that?
You can use your laptop for usual work?

As much as I know C series is not very good for gaming and I can imagine this laptop was simply overloaded and the result is off without warning.

  • Additional fee for the Satellite C660-116 memory

    Hello

I would like to add to my Satellite C660-116, which has a memory 800 Mhz 1 GB installed DDR3 2 GB of additional memory. (Samsung M471B2873FHS-CH9, 204 pins SODIMM)

After consulting with several Internet sites it can a confusion now:

    Samsung 1 GB DDR3 10666 1333 MHz laptop memory
    Samsung 1 GB DDR3 10600 1333 MHz laptop memory

While the official website of Toshiba says 800 Mhz.

It was easire to find a DDR2 800 Mhz for a DDR3 at 800 Mhz, however, to get a DDR3 at 1333 MHz 2 GB is very simple and reasonable in cost.

Someone could say 2 GB memory which would be the best to buy (a 204-pin SoDIMM DDR2 800 Mhz) or a DDR3 1333 Mhz or something else?
    Thank you

Toshiba recommends the use of the module of RAM 2 GB compatible with PA3676U-1M2G part number.
This memory has been tested and works perfectly.

If you want to have high quality I recommend you use Kingston RAM compatible RAM for your Satellite is KTT1066D3 / 2G.

Check the two modules and compare the price. Always is it that both of them are high quality products, and you will have no problems using one of them.

By the way: your laptop can be upgraded up to 4 GB so I think you must be upgraded to the maximum level.
