  I recently started getting some unwanted emails where the 'From' is always different, but the "Reply to" after the @ is almost always the same. When you use Message filters there is almost everything you can think of to filter except 'Reply to' email and using only "to" does not not on the emails I want in the garbage before I see them again. Is there a way to filter incoming emails 'Reply to '?

  You must display the source of the message (ctrl-u) to see the headers and learn their precise wording.

  When you set up a filter, you should see a personalization option, where you can configure to filter on any field in a message header. Take care to study the source of certain messages first understand exactly what format it uses. "Answer to" appears as Reply-to:, so that you can add a custom field for answer to (without a colon).

  I would like to install an auto response message as I will be away from my office for the period of time, how can I do this.

  It is best to do through you connect to your Web mail account using a browser.
  There is usually an option to use a "desktop" type of message.

  Thunderbird can make a reply of"office", but I wouldn't advise because this means that you must leave your computer connected and run Thunderbird. This is not the safest method because anyone can get access to everything if they access your computer.

  In Thunderbird.
  You would need to create an email Template and store it in the Templates folder. Leave the field blank. Subject: Out of office.
  You must create a Message Filter which filters after adverse classification and verifies that each incoming e-mail address is in your address book.
  This prevents you you answer junk and selects only the people in the address book.
  If the condition is set, then perform the action to "Reply with template" and select the template that you created.

  Normally when I click 'Reply' to a message, the compose window automatically fills the "to:" field with the email address of the sender. As of today, however, it is empty. Something has changed in Thunderbird, or have I changed it inadvertently setting? Thank you.

  I was able to "solve" the problem:

  (1) Ran TBird with two relevant modules disabled. Still had the problem. Conclusion: TBird or an irrelevant add-on is the cause.

  (2) TBird Ran in Safe Mode with all disabled add-ons. Problem disappeared. Conclusion: The problem is with an irrelevant add-on.

  (3) Ran TBird with (again) the two relevant modules disabled. No problem. : Conclusion I somehow botch 1 Test?

  (4) modules reactivated one at a time, waiting for the problem to reappear when the offending module has been activated. Both active and problem never appeared. Conclusion: BTHOOM!

• When I reply to a message, the folders pane disappears

  When I reply to a message, the screen loses all its superior toolbars and panes of the file. It just started this doing. All I see is the message that I write, not even the name of the folder I'm in.

  These buttons are located in the header area of message for the ages. Maybe you're using a very out dated version? The change occurs when the e-mail toolbar has been moved into tabs (not above).

  As they relate to e-mail, they are positioned with the e-mails.
  So no matter if you read the emails open in the messages pane, or a tab or window, these buttons follow the open email and post in the header area.

  You can customize the toolbar of messaging to include these buttons, but because real estate is now restricted due to the toolbars in/under the tab, you might find that it clutter. But it can be done according to your own preferences.

  View > toolbars > customize

  Con menu > Options > toolbars

  Drag the icons on the e-mail toolbar.
  Click done.
