Require the update to the Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family display driver for the device to display for Windows8

Original title: need Driver for Windows 8 to support V.1.2 OpenGL or higher for Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset

I bought a 2 year Dell, laptop computer and upgraded to Windows 8. In order to play can games we need a version of OpenGL 1.1 or higher, but Intel has no plans to create drivers for chipset Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family video because it is an older chipset. Intel recommends you to check the Windows support site to see if there is an update of the video driver that will allow Windows 8 run OpenGL version 1.1 or higher with this chipset, but I can't find one on the windows... Help!

I downloaded the latest driver package from the Intel website for the chipset, but it installs that OpenGL v1.0...

  • Support of OpenGL for Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family

I have one of my games and Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family (Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic) needs me to set specific options for OpenGL. On "http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=148276", he asks me to 'Select Blit as turning political'. This solution, however, is there not in only compatible versions of the drivers (and the Panel that accompanies it) for Win7. It was possible on XP, but not on Win7. When I try to install the drivers in compatibility mode, it fails (I felt Jules, but I had to try at least).

I searched for a long time on many different forums for the games, lucasarts, intel, microsoft, and I have not found a solution that worked. If anyone knows anything that I might have overlooked, could you help me?

As I understand it, Microsoft or Intel did not provide any drivers for this chipset that allows you to change this particular option of OpenGL.

    Hi Jonathan,.

When you try to change the OpenGL option, you must contact the support of Inter.

I suggest you to contact Intel Support to get help.

Laptop are not like the desktop PC. You can just open the case and replace the vdeo card. If your laptop doesn't have a switchable graphics so no update that should meet your needs of games is possible except the following

One solution is to buy an expensive external graphics adapter .

The alternative is to play the game on a PC with an installed gamig card.

I have a Compaq 6510 b with Mobile Intel (r) 965 Express Chipset. I would like to know if it is possible to change the graphics card in Notepad. I would like to upgrade, but don't know if it can be upgraded or buy a new.

The upgrade of the video solution in your laptop is a no-go.

The video of your laptop is an integrated solution. This means that the video chip is soldered to the system board.

    Hello

I play poker online and the website on which I play says my graphics drivers are obsolete and should not be less than 6 months old but I have the latest version of intel 965 express chipset 2009 family. He is the only person I can find.

Anyone know please where I can find that I need.

    Thank you very much

    Hello:

There is nothing that can be done.

Not only has the air directly on the Intel site where you expect to find the latest drivers, as you did, but I looked on the HP site for professional laptops that have the same controller, and they are all dated 2009.

My recommendation is to play the games, and if they don't work, then you need to get a laptop or desktop with a solution most recent chart.

I find it frustrating when my computer dell laptop has been updated to Windows 8 I could play is more Minecraft. This is because the Mobile Intel (r) 4 Series Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1) has not been updated to Windows 8 and does not support Opengl. I've seen a LOT of others have had this same problem and would be very happy if she has been updated.

Ask Intel if and when they intend to update their drivers.  Drivers from the hardware manufacturer, not come from Microsoft.

    Hello

    1. How do you try to install the drivers? Update Windows or from the manufacturer's website?
2 did you change your computer, after which the issue started?
    3. you install the correct driver for your device?

I would suggest you reinstall the device on the manufacturer's Web site and check if the problem persists.

Intel (r) g33/g31 express chipset family the same as Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT / ATI X 1600

    Hello Tubzoo,

Thank you for posting.  The answer is no.  The Intel g33/g31 express chipset is a motherboard chipset that works with the processor (CPU).  The Nvidia 6600 gt, ATI X 1600 are two graphics processors (graphics cards).  For more information, you can search for the motherboard chipsets.

Try running the Fixit mentioned on the link under "additional information."

If this does not work, try this:

Go to Device Manager, under the display adapter, double-click on your Mobile Intel (r) Express Chipset Family 995 to see its properties. Click on the 'Resources' tab, under "Conflicting device list" note the device in conflict. Look for the device in Device Manager, if its listed under "other devices" right click and uninstall the device. Alternatively, you can "update driver software... ' or 'Disable' the device.

  • On a HP pavilion DM3 with inside graphics family of chipsets, Mobile intel 4 series I see a message code 12

I have a HP Pavilion DM3 1020 ED. This machine has a "Mobile intel 4 series chipset family ' graphics card, which does not work.

I constantly get a message code 12, "insufficient resources". I also see 2 of these devices in the devicemanager, a normally hidden.

One hidden does not show a failure, I normally see the error. The laptop works with the standard VGA driver in windows.

    I tried on:

    -Update the driver software

-Deletion of the driver software and reinstall it.

-Turn off the appliances (a first for a moment, then both of them)

-Turn off appliances, remove drivers, then reinstall them using.

All of these methods did not work.

    Does anyone know another solution?

Win7 Pro & Home Premium are identical except Pro has 3 more features, which none have no impact on the drivers installed, or that the underlying system.

If it's OK under the Premium family edition (using the same programs) and not under Win7 Pro it seems to indicate that either another program or hardware has been installed then (assuming that if it was a clean install all drivers of HP were installed/updated)
