Rescue and Recovery NOT DELETE the BACKUPS!

To resolve this issue, you do what says Andy, but before you do this, restart your computer.

You try to delete all backups of a sudden? This has been discussed previously, the preferred solution was to remove the last fact backup on its own first, then the others.

I added some changes in my verion 3,0,0 App and send it to stable appworld and it pass the process but now
I want to go back to the previous version (2,4,8), but not remove any product from the store.

I can't remove the store version, but only to remove any product.

You cannot delete a version, but you can ask RIM to do it for you
    https://www.BlackBerry.com/profile/?EventID=8109

If your application is a smartphone application there is a workaround 'disable' release, simply edit the supported devices and leave only one device (e.g. 8800), in this way, no users will be able to download this version.

  • Rescue and recovery cannot delete backups

    Hello

I have problem delete old backups with Rescue and Recovery - always when I try to delete them, it seems to work, but it is not, it never ends... I tried to remove one of all backups, only the last or only the oldest or all of them together, but without effect. I have 6 backups about 45 GB together. And by the way that r & R does not well at all - also when I click on optimize backup storage space, it does not work...

Eventually, it is normal that when deleting old backups, computer seems cold and it takes a long time, but I don't know if it never ends.

    I have the latest version of Windows XP Pro SP3, R & R 4.21.0016 R61.

    Is there a solution?

    Thank you very much!

    V.K.

Uninstall rescue and recovery of add/remove programs. It will remove the backups in this way.

Solved; I did not disable my A / V for the base backup.  For incremental backups, I leave a / v on. My incremental backups run 15 minutes.

My HARD drive was like 2 pic wood saw outside.  (even my dog was barking at the disk). I woke this am to backup base of 6.5 hours. I run A / v monthly complete sweep, so I was comfortable to shoot A / v off the power when the base backup.  He is represented, this am, with a / v power off. Great watering duration. Newest RNR is therefore not a problem.

  • How to use the rescue and recovery and product recovery discs?

    Hello world

I just recently became a new owner of a T61 and really enjoy. I did have a chance yet to test the hotline of lenovo, as I've not yet screwed anything up if badly needing their help. I tried a factory clean reinstall from the service partition and it worked fine. I would like to know, how one uses it the rescue and the recovery boot disk and the recovery disks of the product I created myself? From my previous experience with Dell and HP, I didn't insert the one and restart the computer, and the rest followed. But the ThinkPads, if I ever wanted to bring a State own factory using these disks, can I use with rescue and recovery first, followed by the recovery of product? I'm curious, what is the difference between the two?

    1. Place the rescue and recovery disc in the drive, and then restart.  This disc contains the same program that you used when you restored your system from the service partition.  Once the program is loaded, you will see the same screen with the same options as before.
    2. Choose to restore your system as you did with the service partition.  You will not see an option to do a custom restore.  When the program is run from the disk, it automatically performs a full restore.
    3. The program will rebuild the service partition and copy the program files on him.  When you are prompted, insert the product recovery disks.  The compressed system and application files contained on these discs will be copied to the new service partition.  Once the copy process is completed, your system will be restored from the service partition.
    4. After restoration, you will be able to make a new set of recovery discs if you wish.  You will also be able to do a restore custom through the service partition.

  • Rescue and recovery under 64 bit creates a 32-bit Windows 7, why?

Hello. I have an x 201 with W7 Pro (64-bit) OEM Lenovo. I replaced the hard so I use Rescue and Recovery to have a clean install of W7 and the X 201 good pilots.

What I did to run enhanced backup and restore and then via Advanced Rescue and Recovery, I launched the option "create rescue media. I followed the instructions and created a rescue media USB that as far as I understand leaves my X 201 as it was when it left the factory.

I booted from the USB without problems, restore the system and to my surprise it installed Windows 7 but 32-bit 64-bit not. And no drivers (no video, no network, no USB/PCI). I'm lost here. Why is installed 32-bit when all items generated under Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) and what about drivers? Why it has not installed drivers?

Looking at Enchaced backup and restore in my original installation icon, he says "Lenovo Enchanced backup and restore (32-bit)", so I don't know if that creates only the 32 bit instead of 64-bit OS.

I'll now factory recovery disc option allows to see if that solved the problem.

At this point, I thought that icon factory recovery disc was the same as the use of "create rescue media", because the two pretend to leave the hard drive in the same way, it was when the laptop has left the factory.

If someone could clarify the difference between the two: 'factory recovery disk'vs'create rescue media', and also why the last of them creates a 32-bit OS rather than the 64-bit what it was supposed to create

I will report how it goes with the task of recovery factory disc that I use now.

    Hello

Quite interresting situaiton and to be honest not usual.

However, what should happen, once you have created a rescue media, it's that you should have on the end, a single bootable media, using which you can save, etc.

However, this support of rescue should not contain any OS, it should be only a boneless bootable media. The operating system and the rest should be on a separate stand.

In the case where you had the original x 64 Bit OS, then using the recovery CD (as you confirmed as) should have restored the system to the State, as you received it.

I don't understand, why it needs to change the version of the OS to another, when you initially x64Bit.
Maybe some background info would be useful.

  • Lenovo 3000 N200 - cannot access Rescue and Recovery - MBR poss problem?

I have a Lenovo 3000 N200 sick who was running XP home. I could not start XP and can only access the Rescue and Recovery utility in the Lenovo recovery Partition that would be to rebuild the hard drive to factory settings IE. Windows XP with no data. I managed to copy the data using a Paragon backup cd and then made the fatal mistake of attempting a repair MBR, which was a very tempting option on the Paragon rescue cd. Now, not only it does not boot to XP, but I can run is even more Rescue and Recovery to reinstall XP which is the problem!

If I boot with windows install disc and take the option recovery console it stops, statement that "recovery console could not find the hard drives connected to your computer. Setup cannot continue. "

I was wondering if someone another backup MBR restore could help me with this?

So, if someone has a Lenovo 3000 N200 work and is willing to try to save the MBR to send it to me, then please get in touch. It is probably useful to make a backup for yourself where the same problems happen to you!  In my view, there are a bunch of programs that backup the MBR for example MBRtool, MBRWizard and so on.

Any ideas, offer accepted with gratitude.

Yes I know I could buy the Lenovo recovery disk, but it is a matter of principle for me avoid paying £50 or so if I can avoid it! We'll see if we can help here...

    Thank you

    Simonides

    I am pleased Andyp!

The solution was to set the primary partition to inactive and value the recovery partition Active, then restart and use the Lenovo Care button (now finally works) to access the function of recovery so I could return the laptop to factory State.

No doubt there are plenty of ways to do it, but the approach I took to solve this problem is released under

    1. use another PC to download Paragon backup and restore (I actually used the trial edition now but the free edition may have a similar feature)

2nd burn a CD bootable backup and recovery 10.0.

    3. start the CD Lenovo, and after a long wait, a menu should appear with 11 options, the first of them being Paragon backup and restore.

    4. Select Paragon backup and restore.

5 select properties in the pick a task window and you will see two partitions, a big enough (in my case Go 143, called Preload) and the other is quite small (6 GB called SERVICEV001).

Note: this is an opportunity brilliant to use the Back Up Partition option to make a backup on external drive USB of the two partitions as the reconstruction of the hard drive with Lenovo Care button you will lose all data.

6 right-click the partition preloads and select Edit and set idle

    7. made the SERVICEV001 partition right click and select Edit and set the Active

8 remove the backup and recovery of CD and put it somewhere safe

    9. restart the PC and Lenovo Care button (might be called something different) should now work, allowing you to restore the hard drive to factory settings which will erase all data of a personal nature. You did a backup?

10 Windows should then start as usual, reinstall Paragon backup and restore, and restore your data.

Finally, look at this as a lesson to

    (a) you get a writable DVD and use the Lenovo menu under windows to create a floppy disk from Lenovo rescue and recovery started.

    (b) use Paragon or equivalent to create copies of images of each partition and ordinary differential copies of the primary partition.

I hope this will help other owners who have a hidden rescue for example partition. IBM and HP and would like to receive feedback.

Finally, I must acknowledge assistance patient e-mail provided by Taisia Smirnova Paragon support by offering me this solution.

    best, Simonides

  • Use 'restore factory of Rescue and Recovery' to upgrade 32-bit to 64-bit windows 7

I have 6 GB of ram on my Lenovo SL410. It runs win 7 32-bit.
Windows shows that it is capable of 64-bit.
Can I use "restore factory Rescue and Recovery" to perform the installation of win 7 64 bit?

    Thank you

Your recovery DVDs are listed here:

    http://support.Lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ThinkPad-SL-series-laptops/ThinkPad-SL...

I guess if your recovery partition factory is win 7, 32 bit, it will restore win 7, 32 bit.

You can order the win7 64 bit DVD for about $50 US recovery.

  • Rescue and recovery of backup fails: current drive does not match the previous backup

I have just rebuild my T60p with a new hard drive for the recovery of Lenovo CD via the rescue and recovery CD. Once the system restore is complete and the laptop running, I took a full backup using Rescue and Recovery. This backup is the C:\ drive which was the only drive I had and was on a USB hard drive.

In recent days I have the C:\ split in two, giving me a new D: drive, patched all system software, added my own data, and obtained the machine configuration as I want. I've also trashed the R & R hidden partition so I could make a bigger drive D:\ and created my own bootable CD R & R for future use - not that it makes a difference.

Now, I want to take a second backup with the Rescue and Recovery tool. Naturally I want to back up the disks C:\ and D:\, but the backup fails saying: -.

"The last backup of this system include the following drive letters: C: .

Your system is now back up these drive letters: C: d:

Please define drive letters, as they were before and Christine backup. You may need to exclude partitions created since the last backup. »

Is there anyway that I can make a backup of disks C:\ so my D:\?

The only option I see is to delete my previuos backup and I don't want to do because it can be useful in the future if I still want to restore my system to original state manufactured.

    Suggestions anyone?

    Thanks, Iain

Given that you have saved on an external USB disk your backup will be saved in a

the folder named RRbackups.  If you rename this file I - think - R & R going to think

you do not have any backups, so the next backup will be a 'base '. If you

never have to restore the original of your 'base' backup, rename the folders should allow.

  • With the help of Rescue and Recovery to make backups of 3 different machines

Hello, I have three laptop Thinkpad T400, X 61 and R61i. I want to back up by using an external hard drive. The HD is divided into three partitions, the smallest of X 61, the middle of R61i and most importantly - for T400. I backed up all my laptops in the appropriate partitions (base backups), but now, so I want to make partial backups, they go to the bigger partition (for the T400). Is it possible (and how) do R & R to always use the same partition for each laptop while safeguarding it?

A few notes, to respond to your previous post:

    (1) Sysprep is used by administrators to deploy and image system to other machines. Basically, the system starts standalone RNR and save the image (drive C and the same HARD drive partitions) on the service partition.  Comment enumeration pleasure has to with additional partitions on the C drive HDD.  For sysprep to work, additional partitions must be of type Extended. The windows PE, is a windows "skimpy" PRE environment. For win7, the EP is based on Vista with a small set of win7 features added.  Thie PE is used for developers (as Lenovo) to install their systems.

    * None of this applies to a user at home like you and me *.

    (2) the logic used in the RNR for the GUI vs bent the advanced GUI are DIFFERENT.

Example: the user has part C, D and E on C disk HARD drive.  Uses advanced parms to set backup (local) to go to E drive.

If the backup through the advanced graphical interface, drive E is honored.

If the backup is performed through simple GUI, the partition with the largest free space is used.

Note: using the Second HARD drive don't offer NO choice to designate a partition target of \RRbackups.

    (3) view of backups.  It's clearly too.

When a backup is performed, and RNR is locked on him, it will REFRESH the registry entries for the content of backup.dats in the \rrbackups folder. Subsequent backups of view will probably be read from the registry. That is to say no record of reloading. Simpified mistletoe might once again, just to use the registry, the locks of GUI in the new backup folder.

    (4) your letter removal/restoration

a: I have no idea how autonomous RNR will react to the 3 folders on the second \rrbackup, IE the part 1, 2, 3.

    b. If rnr backups locked in the wrong \rrbackup folder, you will have a total mess. A symptom of this: you take a basic (full) backup, and the next backup, which should be an incremental, is actually another full backup.  This error could occur if you deleted the wrong letters.

    (5) you have a mess.

If I save it again this PC, R & R is a point instead of a differential backup<>

It would take a lot of work on you end to look in the backup files.  Not worth it.

Again, the simpifed GUI backup use different logic. He likes the larger partition.

From what you say, you used simplified and got the base of the machine backup 3 all go good part 1, 2, 3.

Somewhere in this mess, he locked in a \rrbackups without a base backup folder and took another backup.

    who knows.

    Release notes:

    Review 4
    ----------------
Location of backup changes when you select a smaller partition through the advanced interface of the Rescue and Recovery program.

In the advanced interface of the Rescue and Recovery program, you select a partition more small capacity on your local hard drive as the backup location. Then, you switch to the simplified interface to create the backup. However, the backup is created on the partition with the highest capacity.

To resolve this problem, back up your system in the advanced interface of the Rescue and Recovery program after you have selected the backup location.

    ===

The solution is the cleanest way to follow. I would always use the GUI advanced for now on.

  • Missing from the 40 GB hard drive! (R61) - Rescue and Recovery said there is no backups?

I have a laptop R61 140 GB running on Windows Vista. It is around the age of 18 months.

Explorer Windows says that 82 140 GB GB is used.

When I add each folder I get only 45 GB of used space. All I really on this computer is music 26gig & some vacation photos.

I had this problem since I first got the computer.

I looked through discussions here that suggested that the backups can be the cause, and a program called Rescue and Recovery was the problem.

However, when I opened this program it says that there are no backups available. However, this program is no doubt trying to run on my computer every Wednesday I get a popup saying my computer was turned off and I want to run it (I say no).

Tools SW file is 2 GB.

On the windows Explorer when I right-click I see there is something called 'points system recovery', there are many. However, I can't understand it here, where the data is stored, or how I would delete it.

Please help me because it's very frustrating because I have about 40 GB of music I would like to pass through but right now that uses a lot of my remaining space.

  • Rescue and recovery will not restore backup files it finds when starting

I recently had a system problem on my Lenovo computer and had to recreate the image. When I try to restore my backup using rescue and recovery (R & R), they prove inaccessible. How to access these backups?

Details of the options selected in R & R are attached, as an image on the screen of the settings dialog box.

Running R & R, backups (on an external HDD USB) are visible and can be selected as expected. When the computer restarts in the space of restoration work, after a warning do not turn off the power, you get the error message "the restore has failed because the backup was not found at the specified location. Accept that the computer restarts in Windows. In this case regardless of the options selected at the start of R & R.  Where appropriate I select the USB external storage device in the Setup program and select a backup of those listed.

I also tried updating all Lenovo utilities, including R & R. The option 'get new updates"errors when downloading the package information Lenovo Service Center (1 on 1) at the helm of the 30% with the error" Exception should not met!

A lot of ongoing issues.  Many Lenovo post deal with each issue. Intel, system update, create a recovery to the USB media.

For now, I'll address your problems of rescue and recovery. It seems that your system worked well, until a database had records in doubles in it, and you want to use RI to restore a backup on your USB.

Then you have attempted a return to the factory, which show a lot of questions.

If I understand your request, you want to restore your system to some time in the past, using a backup RNR. Either last week or 2 months ago. Something that works.

    ===

RNR will save all partitions on the disk C DD.  It never saves another HARD disk.  2 readers warning has been around for a while. If C and D are on the C drive, HARD drive, it will run through RNR.

Single file restore only runs on the windows RNR.  But there is no need to restart standalone RNR (pf11 during startup).

It is ok. At least the RNR version on windows can find and restore your USB /rrbackups, of 5 min or 30 hours. This works.

    ==

Factory restore installs a RNR version right here. This version probably does not match the version on your USB. If you started the RNR factory with the USB version version, you might expect not found messages.

    ===

On your system windows today, please state the version installed.  Start using pf11 and indicate the version installed.

You cannot create recovery media and rescue on the same device. Your luck if anything boots on the USB (other positions).

Essentially, the RNR standaone version must match the /rrbackups on USB.

    =

How do restore you to the factory settings? pf11 through the work of rnr or external cd/dvd?
