Reset the default printer after each print job.
I wish that my printer to reassign the default printer after each print job. I have a Hp LaserJet 1020 on my desk as my default. Sometimes however, I print on our printer color etc. Then when I go to print again immediately after the color printing - it is (and not my default). I looked in the printer properties, devices, etc. - but do not see where I could update this? Can you let me know. Thank you.
You don't say how you make that decision to change printers. I have two printers, all-in-one (default) HP4135 and HP6122 duplexer.
Example: Leave in MS Office Word 2007 default print would always be. But I can choose a printer to use. With this selection, as long as I stay within this project, the HP6122 could be used. It would default to the HP4135 if I closed the project.
If you go: start, Control Panel, printers, you will see all printers. The default value has a green check mark. Right-click on the printer icon and a menu descends with an extra function "Set as default printer".
Hi all. Have had my new BB's "BOLD" for a week now (been a curve). Every time I Sync BB to the PC, my image of the homescreen on calendar/message alert tones, ringtones and the BB are all reset to their default settings. Im running windows XP with Outlook 2003 Professional and have BB desktop version 126.96.36.199. And synchronization using the USB cable. I have a memory card of 2 GB on BB with Mode mass storage activated when connected and Media Card Support turned on. I'm doing something wrong? Or is there a flaw with BB or software?
<:AtomicElement>Please help, because I don't want to keep spending 20 to 30 minutes of introduction of BB after each synchronization.
<:AtomicElement>Thanks in advance for any help or you advise.
I can confirm, same issue here... resets after each default sync... what a pain.
Yes, it's a pain, but fortunately, I joined another forum and the answer was within two hours, in contrast to this one where after 3 weeks I still didn't have an answer.
The solution is to remove all downloaded ringtones and pictures, from the memory of the device and store it on the map. It's this simple shame, nobody on this forum only!
I'm not the most tech savvy person in the world, but I know my way around MS Office well enough; When my boss got a new computer last month, I helped to set up, install the MS Office, etc. Now, she complains constantly that he does not restore the default printer after each draw and "my old computer used to do that for me - I never know where it'll print now."
How can I configure sound MS Word to print from the default printer each time unless otherwise selected?
I have the default printer specified in Windows, but each time she chooses an active printer, MS Word uses the current printer instead of the default printer. I just need to know how to solve this problem?
If you open a doc Office that it allows to print to the printer origonal used when saving this doc.
If you use the Btn Office Orb, you can select the printer
My situation is like this:
I spend my sequence using the sequential model. Usually, the sequence is executed, 'in the loop', which means that when once the sequential model is launched, we can test unit after unit until we want to put an end for some reason any. The sequence is load dynamically by the sequential model and download after executing the step to discharge option.
In the sequence, we use limits. Default TS limits similar to below.
All our limitations change during execution depending on what unit we test and on what stage is the unit.
I thought that if the sequence is loaded dynamically, it is unloaded when executing the next time that the next unit will be tested the default values of the container limits will be charged (in response to being dynamically loaded and unloaded at the step which called the main sequence is executed). Unfortunately, it seems that when we realize continous test the test limits have not returned to the default value, as expected, but they are a superposition of the limits assigned by previous executions. Of course
Issues related to the:
1 are my expectations about the behavior of TS are correct?
2. how to impose default deadline to be 'reset', the default value for each run of the sequence, not only the first execution of sequential model?
MimiKLM wrote: I am worry the speed of loading, you talked about associated to your solution, but potential problems with memory. Let say, I called the main sequence of 1000 times without breaking execution. So instead of having one copy of the sequence called with wiped/reset all variables and properties I have 1000 copies in the memory. I would call it a waste to have 1000 copies only because I need to have the properties and variables deleted.
The copy exists only during the execution of the sequence. Once the execution of the sequence is complete, the copy will be destroyed/released. At least as long your code modules do not hold their own reference to it somewhere (which generally do not do).
If you call from the main sequence 1000 times in a loop, you must still do not have a runtime copy into memory at once. The difference is a new copy is created (and destroyed once that the sequence is made running) each time, rather than create a copy only once and reuse. There is a performance hit in this call of your sequence which is somewhat proportional to the size of your sequence, but unless your sequence is really huge, or test you execution is extremely fast, you probably won't see the difference.

Error messages that have been found are
An unknown error during system restore 0 x 80070002 (used a different restore point and it worked)
BIOHD 4 error code (this appeared on two occasions however, the computer starts with F4 in the start menu)
There were no additions to the computer for several months, however there was a power outage that shut down computer just before it started.
When the computer starts up goes to the first blue screen when you can press Esc for boot menu, F9 for diagnosis, etc.. The boot then fails and requires a boot disk.
To fix this problem, I used the repair disc and or F8 to access different repair options. I used the Startup Repair, System Restore, as well as the bootrec /fixboot and bootrec /fixmbr commands. They have worked to get the computer to start, however, when it came to a reboot I was at square one. When you use the Startup Repair disk and HD, there would be a report that there are no startup issues or questions start had been repaired but sometimes it would start and sometimes it wouldn't.
If the safe is a restart then most of the time it will restart correctly. However if the computer is stopped for more than a minute it will not start.
I now start the computer by using the ESC key at startup to the top and enter the boot menu. I then use the F4 key to reset the default start menu and the PC starts and works well. The start menu lists first, second HD DVD and the Real tek DXEB03 D00 as third. (Don't know what this is.)
Any helps resolve this, so I don't have to reset the default start at each start menu would be appreciated.
It is unlikely that a HP Recovery or repair of Windows will last if the hard drive has failed. If you buy a new hard drive, you can order a series of HP's HP recovery disks or a third party provider of third party. If please see "Software media and command pilot" page or contact HP Customer Support. to order a set of HP recovery disks. You can also buy the ComputerSurgeons.com recovery discs if you prefer.

I have a hp psc 2110 all-in-one printer connected to my workstation I use just for scanning. I have a network as my default laser printer. I installed the updated drivers for the 2110 a few months ago and have had a problem since. Whenever I restart my computer, the 2110 stands as the default printer. I have to go and manually select another default printer when I notice that I never had a print job that I sent to the network printer. The hp resets the next morning, when I turn on the computer again.
I see that someone posted a similar problem to the 1/12 with another HP printer, but there is no answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It's very strange. Try to uninstall and reinstall the printer. Something must have been damaged in the installation of the last. Let me know what happens.
When I go to print nothing happened. I get an error message that says: access denied. I have only one printer. He suggested that it cannot be set as the default printer. How can I do this?
I suggest you to visit these links and check if it helps:

I have access to several printers that I use in different places. I have to manually change the choice of printer with each e-mail letter I want to print when I change my location when you use thunderbird. I already changed the default printer in my printers folder. All other programs, including Firefox accept the choice of the default printer. How can I get Thunderbird to accept my default without delete all THE OTHER PRINTERS?
The menu bar, select Tools-Options-Advanced-General
Select the configuration editor
Promise to be careful
Enter the following in the search field: print_printer
When this line appears, right-click and select reset.
See if she resumes the new default printer after you restart Thunderbird.
No menu bar? Press the ALT key.
Recently, I added a second printer to my home network and selected as the default printer. But when I try to print, the correct printer is selected in the dialog box print only part of the time and apparently depends on which application to print from. I believe that Safari, Mail, Contacts and calendar properly use the default printer, then the Pages and Numbers and instead do not the old printer unless I have change the selection in the dialog box impression every time I print.
How can I get Pages and Numbers to correctly use the right default printer?
The problem that is happening on my machine (OS X El Capitan 10.11.2, 5.6.1 Pages and numbers 3.6.1) and my wife (running Maverick 10.7.5, Pages ' 08 3.0.3 and Numbers ' 08 1.0.3) and has persisted through a reboot. The old printer is a HP OfficeJet Pro 8600, accessible via WiFi. The new printer is a Brother MFC-7340 connected by USB to a Time Capsule that is accessible via WiFi.
In the print... dialog you select
View the Presets...
in the menu presets. In the sheet drops down, uncheck the box marked
Reset the Menu Presets for "Default settings" after printing
Click OK. Then select

or a custom preset that you created in the menu.
Original title: System do not select the default printer.
I just added HP Officejet Pro 8620, but does not do by default. My HP Pro 400 is still my printer by default, but every time I print, the 8620 appears as the default even if not selected by default and I need to change it to use the default printer, so that both printers are working properly, my system does not recognize the default printer as the default printer. I played with the default setting, modify the printers and then back to the default, I want to, but who was not good.
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.
The problem may be due to reasons like print, of any conflict of third party software, virus or malware etc. settings. I suggest you run the printer Troubleshooter and verify.
Step 1: A convenience store is an automated tool that can find and automatically fix problems with your PC.
Step 2: If the problem persists, I suggest you perform the clean boot in order to avoid any conflict of third party software.
Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.
Note: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.
Step 3: Run Microsoft Safety Scanner to find and remove viruses or malware.
The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.
Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.
Note: Data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

Hello MS community.I'm lost, I tried several things to solve this problem, but could not succeed. My system is:Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, stable and works well with a score of 5.9My printer has been installed and deleted 3 times already and I tried both set up as a network printer or a USB connected. At the moment I installed it as a USB, but this will not let me install the default printer.First the printer is accessible and print successfully from Word, ACDSee and some other applications but is not recognized by Adobe such as Photoshop & Acrobat products and does not Excel print. I know that this error has been discussed in several other threads, but yet I could not find a solution that worked.I tried to repair the registry as following the instructions here about something else:
(a) click Start.
(b) type regedit in start search and press enter.
(c) access the site mentioned below.
(d) in the right column, you will find key device, change the value of your printer name.
(e) it is for example in the format: "HP LaserJet 4250 PCL6, winspool, Ne03:
(f) right click on the value and click Rename, replace with the name of your printer.
When I try to change the key it doesn't let me, even if I ran regedit as an administrator. It is said:
Cannot change the device: error writing to the new content value. I wanted to put: series of Canon MG5450 printer, winspool, draw:
even if in the example, she said winspool, Ne03. I thought I could leave I had in default.
i also see another key which is:
Load REG_SZ C:\Users\-(my user name here)-\LOCALS~1\Temp\mshikra.bat
This also I do not know what because if I go to this folder this .bat file is not present.
I also tried this tool:
and when he said will analyze it: series of Canon MG5400 printer is not the default printer, and then I clicked on fix it and id not said, not successful.
Now I don't know what else to do.
The only true left to try perhaps would be to reset all the settings of the printer (the printer connects to the home network with the wifi password) may disable the wifi wireless option, if possible. Switch it off and remove all the entries of the printer and try again to install it, but then perhaps on the administrator account.

I have two main printers to use at home and whenever I print a web page, Firefox will automatically print using the default printer. If I select the default printer from the drop-down list, it works very well. I wouldn't select the printer by default every time I want to print.
Try of the reset described here for print.print_printer preference:
I installed my new HP1510 printer on computer with Windows 7, but I can not set as default in Control Panel printer, get error message 0 x 00000709. This means I can't print a PDF file as my previous printer, which I uninstalled it, is always shown as default in Adobe Reader. I can print emails ok. Please help as I bought the computer to print a PDF file!
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you cannot set the default printer and are experience PDF problems. Please, try the following steps to answer all your questions:
Click Start, type Regedit in the search bar. Right-click on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Now, find the following key:
You will need to give this key all permissions. To do this:
(a) right click on the key that you need to change and/or delete. Click on "permissions...". »
(b) click on 'Add' in the window that appears.
(c) there will be an empty box under "enter the names of the objects to select. Type "Administrator" (without the quotes), then click on "check names".
(d) an administrator name appears, click 'Ok' when it does.
(e) you should be able to select the profile (click) the administrator under "group or user names. Once you click on it, click on "Advanced".
(f) click the 'owner '.
(g) click on the Administrator profile, then put the checkmark in "replace the owner of subcontainers and objects".
(h) return to the "Permissions" tab, then make sure the Administrator profile is selected.
(i) in the "Permissions" tab, put a check in each box available. Boxes will probably accompany "Include the permissions that can be inherited from the parent to this object" and "replace all permissions of child object with permissions inheritable of this object.
(j) then click on 'change '. Put a mark chark in "Full control" under allow. Click Ok. Now click on apply (you may receive a message of Security window, simply click 'Yes'), and then click Ok.
(k) out of the registry, and then restart the computer.
The last step is to restart the print spooler. To do this, type services.msc in the search bar. Right-click on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Find print spooler and stop it, then start it.
Now try to set the default printer like PDF files and printing. Let me know what happens. Thank you!
Have a wonderful day!
I use a HP OfficeJet 8600 and impossible to find a way to set the default print by application options. When I use my Windows machine he remembers the print by application settings (for example, if I print from Word, it prints the ordinary quality, if I select print in Photoshop, print quality Photo paper). On the Mac (OS 10.8.5, Macbook Pro) I can't find any way to do it. If I put a print job in Word and the last used printer setting (from Photoshop) is Photo paper, then Word prints using this and uses a lot of ink and is incredibly slow. Any help?
Hello again @winm!
Thanks for the reply!
I understand that when Windows printing software in memory settings for Word and Photoshop. On the side of the things Mac, you will need to make the preset and choose it every time. You may just be better to choose a quick project for Word and photo paper for Photoshop as you say. The software in the Mac won't remember automatically.

Hi @darshan9 ,
I see that you have problems affecting the default printer for users and you cannot print over the network.
I'd love to help you.
Do you mean the configuration of individual computers with the printer on the network users, or a computer with multiple users?
You have administrative rights on the computer to make changes?
What is the name and the product number of your printer? How can I find my model number or product number?
Download and run the Print and Scan doctor. It will diagnose the problem and could solve it automatically. http://www.hp.com/go/tools > using HP diagnostic tools for printers under Windows HP.
I suggest you to check if you have another account user or an administrative account.
I also suggest to create a new user account and check if you are able to set the default printer.
Create a user account. Create a user account.
If you're still having problems, run the Fixit tool. Diagnose and automatically fix problems printing and printer.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (she print or scan, error messages)
If there is anything else I can help you, let me know.
