resize unique columns of table front panel
I have a bunch of columns on my front and some of them contain lon channels, while others have only a maximum of 2-3 strings in them.
I'm looking for a way to resize each column without resizing all the others at the same time. If I have them all the same length and the length of the string max I get the table is much too large to fit on the screen space and navigation in labview VI leaves much to be desired.
His cosmetic event but would help me see clearer information and as the information are all locked in long strings his does not work well with what im doing then.
Watch multicolumn ListBox or tables. They allow the customization of the column widths and are specially designed for user interfaces. Protect your data in a table to the schema for the treatment, but the indicators on the front panel.

I can't resize the front panel to a smaller window. I put in (0,0) minimum window size, unchecked maintain proportions and to scale all objects. I had originally put the size of the minimum window to 1012 x 616. When I close the window property and re - open the settings still collated (0,0) while they are saved, but I am unable to reduce the size of window smaller than 1012 x 616.
Also, there is open space on both sides in both dimensions, so I'm not running in the front panel objects. What property/properties miss me that locks the minimum panel size? One last thing is that I'm able to resize windows from any SubVIs I the same project and edit the minimum window size them and they respond as expected.
Thank you

Delay in resizing of front panel
Hello
I develop GUI which needs to look nice and the user will have the option to resize. Since the ladder under the window property fails, I wanted to use the resize Panel event.
But there is delay - controll is resized some time after I resize the front panel and that seems bad. When I look at the list of window or error of project it will resize instantly.
Why I can't get this result in Labview?
I could always sign size leash read say every 10ms and calculate the size of ontrolls on this basis, but is there best option by using this resize event Panel?
It should be more or less obvious that this parameter means when used. If you set a control to fit the pane and then resize this component, it does not wait for the mouse to start resizing it it will resize for each pixel the mouse movement.

PNG resize problem on front Panel (not stripped)
I'm having a problem trying to develop custom controls and expand my GUI beyond the default options Labview. I'm using a Visio flowchart to illustrate an industrial process. I encountered a problem trying to add items such as indicators of tanks to the façade. To do this, I'm importing Visio images, in photoshop and then saving them as png to maintain transparency. The problem I have is that when I drop this file .png on the front panel and resize, Labview seems to be falling pixels and cut the edges of my image. This seems to happen on which corner I resize the base.
Example:
Sample PNG bumped against a new front and then resized using the building in the container box.
I have the same problems with the .gif files. I have reviewed the various .png and .gif export options, and I don't see anything that I'm missing. I don't have a problem with JPEG files, so it must be something related to transparency. Is this a known problem or there at - it a labview option, I'm missing? I am currenlty using Labview 2010 SP1.
Given that I'm still in phase of my development of gui layout, I don't know the exact dimensions of all my items and I was hoping I'd be able to resize it as I'm going to and not to be completely locked in at custom controls. Any idea would be appreciated. I searched the forums, but all the questions that I could find were mostly programmatically resizing problems.
One option, you can try exporting the EMF or WMF image. LV should be able to import that, and because it is a vector format, in my opinion, it should also resize correctly.
Another alternative is to draw in BT itself, either decorations or control of image to draw programmatically (although you should be aware that this option can have performance issues).

It seems that it should be simple enough. I want that the user can adjust the characteristics of police of an array of numbers with some controls on the front panel. I know how to do this using the drop down menus - but I want my users to do with the controls on the front panel. I looked at the options property node and it does not resemble anything in here would help...
Thanks for your time.
j.
Right-click on a digital control in the table and choose Create-> property Node-> NumericText-> police-> size. Change to write and this allows to adjust the size on the fly.

Satellite L500D - what is that annoying red light on front panel?
Hello
I have my L500D the normal five system LEDs on the front panel of the base computer, where they are supposed to be. But then, to the left of these fires, there is that annoying red light, which is very distracting.
But what is even more annoying than not one, + not a + manual owners I've read mentions none, + not even a hint. The manual mentions the other lights in their patterns, + but not this one. :-(
Now, I'm assuming it's something really simple, and I publicly show how blind or stupid (or both) I really am. :-) But for love all holy, and before that I lose all of my hair, can someone tell me what is all simply as the red light? :|
And, while you're at it, maybe you can tell me how to turn it off! It would be a very unique experience for the moment. (B-)
Don't get me wrong, I love my new L500D, my best investment by far and it goes like the wings and I write about a wacky ad jingle and broadcast around the world... If not for the boring red light. ;-)
Help, please! (i)
Hello
I think you are talking about a wireless light located on the front left side of the computer. You can see here:

Yes, it's a little boring, but you can turn it off by pressing Fn + F8 but in this case the wireless connection turns off. As for me, I use any wi - LAN, my knees is connected to the Internet by cable, and I never use outdoors.

OR DC Soft Front Panel, minorbug, small bug with the PXI-4110
Hello
The NI DC Soft Front Panel V14.0, with the PXI-4110, scrolling to negative tension, works as expected to-10V, but then returns to 0. If we change from - 1V procedure, it goes...-8-9,-10, -1, -2... instead of-8-9,-10, -11, -12...
Everything about her, a simple thing that I miss is a switch for all three voltages.
(Also, IMO, it would be logical for negative tensions with the arrow pointing down, not more).

Hello Janaf,
I completely agree with two of your statements, I tabled a report of corrective measures that you can monitor in the next versions of DCPower to see if this is fixed with the FPS. CAR number: 512257
I've added notes that only manual insertion of numbers - less than 10 works and that it was not logical to use arrow increment or upward arrow to reduce the output voltage.

OR-SCOPE Soft Front Panel errors
I can't capture a square wave 10 kHz using NOR-SCOPE FPS. The error that I get for the manual config and auto-setup is-200580 requested is not a valid Vertical offset.
Max test panel can capture the signal without errors.
My setup is PXI-5154 Slot3, chassis PXI-1031DC, Windows Vista, LabVIEW 2009, MAX 4.6.0f1. Entry test square wave 10 kHz, 4Vp - p connected to Ch0 BNC 5154.
Hi bmann,.
What is the descriptor of the resource able & Automation Explorer (MAX) for this device? Is it the same as other devices that were previously on your system?
The 5154 can't stand the vertical offset, but other devices (for example the 5152) support vertical offset. The NO-SCOPE Soft Front Panel (SFP) will use the resources descriptor to identify devices. If no configuration is not found for a device with a particular resource descriptor, then the FPS will run an automatic configuration on the device. However, if the FPS is a previous corresponding configuration with the same resource descriptor, it will attempt to use this same configuration. This is where I believe you can receive the error.
If you have a 5152, you can check the "vertical offset" parameter in the "Device setup" window - looks like this is the setting that attempts to commit to the 5154 the SFP and the NOR-SCOPE driver is throwing this error. For a 5152, this parameter should appear, but the 5154 this setting should not appear.
Could you try to re - appoint the device in your system for something unique?
Let me know if it helps. If not, it could be another question - let me know what version of the driver NOR-SCOPE you have installed if this is the case.

front panel size between decoration
Hi all
Does anyone know if there is a way to size, a façade based on a decoration.
for example, I have a front apnel GUI with a flat frame decoration.
I spent some time tweaking the front panel to show what is inside the flat frame decoration. I go back and change some stuf and repeat these optimizations.
It would be cool if I could just put highlight the object of decoration and tell the VI to resize based on the decoration.
I tried this VI-> Panel-> Decos []-> Index [2]-> MasterRect to set the FP. PanelBounds.
It is assigned the same size as decoration, but not really where the decoration, see VI attached.
Any ideas?
-Sean
You must set the origin of the part of the façade as well.
But as Ian said, it is probably best to design your front and your decoration so that its located at 0,0 and place in upper-left corner of the window.

Update of Acquisition of tension over on front panel
I have this simple motor driver program that communicates with a stepper motor controller. I now have to combine this vi with person who acquires a finite number of data points of tension. I found an example of tension over who works with my daq (usb-6009). I was thinking about another stacked in a loop sequence for works to save the voltages, motor training, save several tensions, etc. a desired amount of time.
I wish I could see the tension on the front panel, because I'm their record. Is there a simple way to do this when requiring a finite number of tensions? I use finish because I need only say 10 seconds of data in each engine position and fixing the number of samples whose rate is a simple way to adjust the ignition.
The examples I've seen update tension using a while loop. If I do this then the while loop keeps going until the user stops it.
Thank you very much. 2 vi, I work with is attached.
BTW, I'm a graduate of mechanical engineering student.
Hello
See this link on the waveform data type.
http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/B965F316364DE17B862572DF00363B10
Writing custom file Express VI will be likely to work as a note for a long time the sample and, therefore, the loop rate is not too high. It's because the writing on a file of measures, although practical, contains a bit of overhead. If you want to display multiple channels, you can merge the signals and display them on a single diagram, or use several. It will be you.
The best indicator to use will depend on what data you want to display. The waveform table is going to be the most complete, but as you have found the samples back in the form of an array of double type, you can indicators table, or remove points on the table and use digital indicators as well.

Programmatically disable the controls on the front panel
Hi all
I have a case in which I need to activate the control of front panel during scanning or taking data and when this case is false / when not not taking data. I try to make the Subvi usng vi reference, the node property, making the label controls and disbaling it. I want to disable the control listed in the table during the real deal and allow them to return to the case of fake. But right now, it of not working and hangs my main program. Please see the vi attached and help find where I am doing wrong.
Thank you
The best way would be to create an array of references to the controls you want to mess with beforehand. I say that because I'm guessing that you have several groups of controls you will be turn on/off at the same time. If you have a table of these controls already created, then just run the table in a loop FOR and use the Disable property. I made a few minor cleanups in your current VI. I got rid of the outermost case structure since the two cases are essentially the same thing. A selection function allows to choose to enable or disable.
NOTE: the forums are screwing again and not let me post a VI. Change the extension back to vi to open it in LabVIEW.

Disabling the controls on the front panel
Hello
Currently, I am working on trying to disable/gray out between 10-20 controls on the front panel when you press a start button and then allowing them the end of the test. Currently I use the property nodes, all of which are connected to a constant of the State in which I want that works perfectly. My question is that there is another way other than having a bunch of knots of padding property to the top of my structure of the event. Ive read where people had Subvi, which has used references to make this same feature, but is there a way of doing things in the block diagram of my current VI? Thank you!
Need references of your controls on the front panel, so this can be fast, because you can select more than one, and with a right click you create references.
I have attached a version LV2010.
Edit: another review:
Must be created only once these references. Usually, it's comfortable group all the references in a cluster, use this thread through your entire code. This way you can just ungroup references to the actual location, you have to play with, put them in a table and use the above FOR loop to change their properties...

Sizing of the 50 orders/lights on the front panel to look like
Hello
I have 50 rectangular bollean indicators on the front panel. For some reason, the sizes of a few indicators are slightly different from the others. If I resize with the mouse it oversizes it. Can't think of an intuitive method to achieve this.
All the ideas!
Kind regards
