Resource monitor problem

When I generate a report of second health 60 monitor resources (Tools), it is said that my anti-virus software cannot be recognized, even if the Security Center (Action Center) reports that it runs and it is up-to-date. How can I fix? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled my Norton AV 2010. Help, please.

Must be a bug, I have Microsoft Security Essentials installed, and I got the same error.  It is said you can change the settings in Security Center not monitor AV, it has no effect on the health report if you disable AV followed at the center of the Action, a bug for sure.

    Hello Steven,

Thank you for your support. The problem has been resolved by reinstalling the software. It seems that the new version of the software is out - strange here was that my request for resource monitor appeared also to update in the update software tab.

  • Insufficient memory errors foul hard in resource monitor

I have a HP laptop HP G50 with 3 GB 133US memory. Bought with VISTA and Norton 360. After that automatic update to Service Pack 2 start time was about 10 minutes. Try to run something as simple as WORD has been slow and capricious. Looking for problems of slow start I opened the Task Manager to see which application may be the cause of the problem. Seem to be the svchost (from memory here), I chose the performance monitor, and then control of the selected resource. I was surprised to see several thousand hard faults of memory that programs memory access.
I went to support HP online and got the usual stuff in response to "slow start", I removed everything from the start to the top of the list except the files from Microsoft. Ran disk defrag (Ihave about 178 GB free). The system started in a few minutes. Improved, but when I look at the resource monitor memory hard fouls are still there. I started to NORTON 360 and once again the fly of the hard disk and resource monitor showed errors of memory. I'm guessing that NORTON 360 scans all files for virsus.
I am currently running without NORTON 360. I watched MICROSOFt Defender and he made scans at a time desired (no good on a system that is not 24 X 7) but I don't see that I could choose Start Up or Power Time.

Are these true hard memory of flaws? Is this just an invalid display by Microsoft? I found the FL diagnosis on the disk. He was back in August when I bought the system. This newspaper also showed the flaws of memory. Have therefore always been there.

No reason to believe that memory is really bad, because everything does not work.

Someone at - it experience with Resource Monitor hard memory defects?

Test the memory. I think Vista is a memory Tester, but I like Memtest86 + www.memtest.org . Of course, you must obtain the program from a working machine. You will download the .iso image file to create a bootable cd. You will need a third-party burning software such as free ImgBurn , Nero or Roxio. Burn as an image, not in the form of data. Then start with the media that you did (you may need to change the boot priority in your BIOS so that the optical drive is the first boot device). The test runs immediately. The test run for an hour or two--at least that errors are seen immediately. If you get any errors, replace the RAM. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Windows resource monitor shows only a CPU core when he should have four.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, SP1
    Intel Core i3 2330 m-hyperthreading

Resource monitor normally indicates two nuclei and Hyperthreaded (a total of four graphs) when seen on the tab CPU recently single core (one graph) is displayed. This change is caused by one of the updates of Windows or an indicator of a hardware problem? Is there a recommended KB or a patch that solves it?

original title: change of resource monitor (?)

You asked: "what version of Windows 7 do you have?" ... Home Premium x 64, SP1 as indicated at the beginning of my first post.

As my screen name, incurably curious, says I couldn't let it go. Assistance in the meantime, I searched tirelessly and found a cure. I had to make a change through msconfig. I don't have any idea how the settings have been changed because no one else is using this machine.  [????] (Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes returns own scans; so I doubt that the cause is associated malware.) The following explains what I've done and the results.

    1. I went into msconfig > startup > advanced options and find the number of processors, set one. The arrow to expand a menu drop-down has also shown that a single processor. Which did not make sense because my processor Intel Core i3 2330 M's two core with hyperthreading.
    2. I unchecked the box and restart the computer.
    3. I returned the number of processors as described in #1 above. Expand the menu gave me the choice of 1, 2, 3 or 4 processors. I chose two and checked the box.
    4. I rebooted the computer again.
    5. I checked the monitor of resources (via the Task Manager) and found multiple graphics, I'm used to the display. The graphics are labeled: Service use of the CPU, CPU 0, 1 parked CPU 2 CPU and CPU3 parked.
    6. Parked CPU1 and CPU3 parked show no activity, which is expected. These show only activity when hyperthreading is active, which is rare with the programs I run. Only programs written specifically to hyperthreading use the feature.
    7. CPU utilization service CPU2 and CPU0 show activity as expected.
    8. Manager tasks shows four graphs still now.

The reason why I know not what to expect is that I have upgraded RAM and completed cooling there are a few months and one of my tools use resource monitor to control the computer. (I used other means to monitor the internal temperature). I managed to run enough programs to use more than 7 GB, the 8 GB available RAM and CPU usage Dungeon in the range of 75 to 100% for more than an hour during trials. Hyperthreading (CPU1 and CPU3) clearly indicated to be active too. Time CPU ran in the range 165F without additional cooling and order of 125-130 with additional cooling.

I will wait for return of the answers with explanations and/or questions until I got this mark as resolved.

  • sfc/scannow CBS. Corruption, resource monitor error LOG does not, the Preview picture broken, KB2538223 do not install, optional updates IE 10 and 11 unsuccessful.

I just fixed a major problem I had with a screensaver HBO hogging all my resources. I had to reboot and when it would take place within 2 hours. Now, after cleaning and tweaking, this installation is only a few weeks and I am having some problems.

1 CBS.log has some corrupted files after doing a sfc/scannow.

2 resource Monitor works properly and will not load properly not display anything without error message.

3 image preview does not work on my photos for the thumbnails and will crash after the use of native Photo Viewer after about 5 pictures in the same directory leafing.

    4. Windows Update will not be installed "Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538243).

    5. then Windows Explorer 10 and 11 will not be installed and the optional updates that tend to bother me even though I know that I don't need them. But also say that they have failed after that reboot although says that she is successful in the history of Windows Update.

  • Resource monitor shows Windows 7 and Windows Vista running different programs

I followed my programs and other at quite a bit lately since my system hangs and is running more slowly.  I'm trying to understand what might be causing this. I only had Windows 7 loaded on this desktop computer, as I bought it.  However, today I noticed that in the resource monitor to the title of the CPU that Windows 7 is the context of the operating system for some programs and Windows Vista is the context of operating system for other programs (including programs based Apple).  Is this a problem? Could it be added to some of my slowness and crashes?

This indicates the operating system, the program has been designed to target. If the application does not specify this in its manifesto, it is assigned to a context of Vista. This has been added in Windows 7 that allows new applications to benefit from new features, while older applications continue to work on the former.

  • Maximum frequency in resource monitor

In Task Manager, Performance tab, button resource monitor, which is the "percentage of the maximum frequency" and is related to the Turbo Boost?

I have a 3.4 GHz quad-core i7 with Windows 7 64 bit.  The percentage of the maximum frequency is usually 103%, but sometimes it's 102 or 101.  I downloaded an Intel program that displays the status of the Turbo Boost.  I had all four cores running, so the Turbo Boost was 3.5.  The Max Freq 103%, and being about 103 percent of the 3.4 3.5, I think that showed the Turbo Boost.  But I ended up some processes, the Turbo Boost has increased, but this percentage is not gone - in fact, he came down.  So, what's the percentage of frequency and is related to the Turbo Boost?

    Hello

You can not push beyond a certain point and some variance is scheduled. Check with
Intel, documentation and community support. It's really a hardware problem and
not directly related to Windows so that you ask the right questions however in the wrong
places. A person fully familiar with your processor and your hardware can give you
examples of what results you can expect.

For anyone having the same problem, I was able to solve my problem as follows:

    1. I noticed 3011 event ID source Microsoft-Windows-LoadPerf
    2. Following the solution a link http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd363642%28WS.10%29.aspx I did a reconstruction of the performance counters as follows:

To rebuild the list of counters in the registry:
      1. click on start, expand all programs, then accessories.
2 right click on prompt and then click Run as administrator.
      3. at the command prompt, type lodctr /r and press ENTER.

This solves the problem, disks now appear normally.

    Problem:

Sometimes when I turn on my PC the hdd led indicator will Flash continuously. This situation lasts for 5 to 30 minutes, if I'm not out, reboot, run chkdsk (which is something all the time, not bad sectors). On my windows resource monitor, it shows on hdd part I/O is like % 10-15, but highest activity at 99% 97 time or 100% while in a game process or a simple process as the Google search when this happens frozes PC but not the mouse.  Sometimes when I restart the computer with this error, im taking no. operating system error is currently installed on this computer. Then I turn it off to new cutting of all power, click sur-de button for 30 sec and then when I turn it on it fixed this problem. Since the beginning of this post my hdd led was all now its normal for example.

There is no problem with cpu or gpu heating but when I unplug my hard drive its hot as hell.

So far, these are my problems that I could remember if I remember anything else, I will answer this post to help grace.

and I want to say that maybe it's just because of this my Next comp will not be HP.

Sorry for the bad grammar btw

It sounds against intuitive to remove the HDD from the box and freeze them if the HARD drive is not the primary cause, though I understand you want to do something.  You don't want to cook your computer.

If you use Linux (or have done so in the past) on the same box and the same drive HARD, overheating do not happen, so there must be something in the way the system is used when you use Windows or in the way in which the computer accesses his files after installing Windows.

    • If you use the system for the game and it is not a gaming machine, in other words, it is not built for her, then you are beatinig up and it will heat.  End of the story.
    • If there is something odd in the installation and there is something odd in the installation of every time you install Windows AND Windows must work very hard all the time to access the same regular data, then it gets hot.  This could be really tough finding from the outside.  Each installation is different, once you start adding your data personal.
    • That fact that it's specific Windows is important, although I can't tell you how.  The resource monitor is able to tell you what happens, but you must learn how to intrepret the information - AND the system needs to stay running long enough each time so you can watch it decline.  It might take some time for you to learn what's going on.
    • You might consider taking the box to a repair center renamed tech - just to have a peek at your facility and the box and make sure everything is in order.  Don't forget to tell the tech that the box has no problems on Linux, just install Windows OS bare.
    • You can also consider (if no warranty), remove the box and the application of thermal paste - time honor and it should work... There is risk of destroying your laptop if you are wrong.  Lots of info on Google for this.

Final words:  These are not laptops, the computers laptop dv6 and dv7 running to hot when it is pushed and have to be executed on a surface of decent work with a lot of traffic in the air under them.  You need a cooler if you want to use the system hard, even a configuration not related to the game.  Do not use the laptop on a couch, a bed, a rug, on a Chair... If you do these things, you will find yourself with a hot notebook and a sad situation.  These models run more hot than some and you have to protect.  That being said: they aren't supposed to burn.

If I think of anything useful, I'll post.

  • When Firefox is running, IP addresses much appear in the resource monitor to the Win7 taskbar including 93.184.215.73 - that could be malicious. How can I block it?

I noticed a slowdown sometimes in Firefox - checked the Windows 7 Task Manager resource monitor and found a lot of IP addresses - if open only one window of Firefox. So I checked their - most looks legit, but this one certainly has a bad reputation of computer forums: 93.184.215.73. What I want to know is one) how he block in Firefox? It is easy in Internet Explorer. You block just under the protection of personal information and security tabs. (b) why Firefox even running this?

Moreover, all that promises a free video download or conversion is potentially suspect in my book. As another experiment, you can disable these extensions for a day and see how that affects your traffic. You can do this on the page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

  • Resource monitor blackBerry Smartphones Application

I have a BB 9810 Torch.  I just got a notice at the top of my screen with a link to the resource monitor Application.  The notice was not a text and was not an email.  I don't know what it was, but it does not open, and the only way I could get rid of it was to reboot.

Is it a BB publicity stunt, or what?

    Rolyb

"Stunt" was a bad choice of words on my part.  Rather, I wanted to say something more in the sense of an advertising offer, which I think it was.  You who pointed out as a possibility.

My first sign of notice has been the opinion of little yellow envelope with the red star icon in the Ribbon at the top of the home screen which means the arrival of one or more new statements (email, calendar, etc.).  Clicking on it shows all messages that have not been opened.  It was the view of Application resource monitor.  It was just a separate title which does not, or delete.

When I checked my email inbox, there's nothing in it, nor was there any indication of an SMS message, anywhere.

So I restarted and everythng lightened (and has not returned).

I think your suggestion of an offer of advertising is what it was, but a strange one that has not worked very well.
