Restart the MIDlets downloaded from the Desktop Manager!

Hi all, this is my first post

I have a storm bb 9500 and using netbeans ide for development.

For a development of simple learning, I have just written some classes.

One was inherited from the class UI RIM and that it just works fine, does no restart after downloading from mediacard.

The second example, I just wrote, the class was inherited class midlet and a just works fine on the Simulator and on my phone but it gives RESTART or selections LATER on the real device (and not in the Simulator). I suspect from the build.xml file. Someone has an idea?

Hello

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how reset the active device in the Desktop Manager?

    Hello

I lost my old phone blackberry (Curve 8320) and replaced by a new (Bold 9700). I want to put the new phone as the active device for my manager to Desktoip. Whenever I connect the new phone, it is listed as "Device connected" but my old phone still appears as "active Instrument '. When I connect the new phone, it also gives me an option to change to the new company profile. But when I click on 'Yes' it still shows the old phone as 'active Instrument '. How can I reset this setting so that my new phone becomes the active device. I use Desktop Manager version 5.0.1 and I do not wish to move to 6 because I use the Desktop Redirector functionality in version 5.0.1 which is absent from the v6. Thank you.

    John,

So I figured out how to reset (w/o call my IT dept ). In order to reset the current device:

    1. If you use MS Exchange directly: create a new profile through control-> e-mail settings panel.

    2. If downloading emails from exchange server to local folder, and then add a new pst file and make it the default.

After making the above, restart the Desktop Manager and follow the instructions.

    Thank you.

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Desktop Manager "disconnected" and I cannot get rid of the error message

I just bought a Blackberry Curve 8530, running v5 software, my computer is Windows 7. I installed the 501_b073_multilanguage software that I downloaded from the site Web of Blackberry. When I run the Desktop Manager I get this message: "Before you start, check that your current BlackBerry device is connected to your computer." Troubleshooting functions I've seen on this forum: many tips (ones I've tried is below). One in particular, that I can't do is "Office Manager shows"off". ".
-Make sure that the user has entered in the Desktop Manager and select options > connection settings > detect. »

... because I can't get rid of the error message dialoge box, and I can't click on the menu options in the BB Desktop Manager.

    I tried the following:

    • uninstalled and reinstalled twice - 2nd uninstall was a "hard" uninstall where I deleted the registry files by hand
    • installs the cable to the USB port at the back (after having tried both ports at the front) of the computer
    • rebooted the computer several times
    • hard starts the phone by removing the battery
    • plugged in, removed and replugged in the phone.

    Also:

    • The phone is properly install when I plug it in, but the software still does not seem to see it.
    • In Device Manager, the BlackBerry appears under portable devices. Double clicking on it gives me the message "this device is working properly." of reassurring.
    • The Com1 port is working properly, according to Device Manager.
    • A double-click on the icon of the Device Manager to get the properties indicates that the Com1 port is "disconnected" - when I try to set it up, it appears just back to the disconnected state.

If someone has an idea or something that I have not tried, I'd be happy of course!

    Thank you!

Good, people, after a phone call from 3 1/2 hour with a (very patient) phone support person to Blackberry, here's what I learned.

You can check your drivers USB in this way:

    1. Plug your phone into your USB key. Assuming that your Blackberry is "seen" by your computer...
    2. Go into the Device Manager on your computer (Panel)
    3. Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers at the bottom of the list item
    4. Right-click on the BlackBerry smartphone, and then select Properties
    5. Click on the driver tab
    6. Click the driver Details button
    7. You should see a driver. I saw two. The one like the BlackBerry is the RimUsb one.

So here's what NOT to do: we threw any driver who has been the "extra". This actually made using my mouse and keyboard cannot, because they are USB and my poor husband has sent in the basement to find a million-year-old keyboard (and mouse) with the old fashioned type of connectors (PS2). Bleh. Don't, don't.

Here's what I did that worked (not saything this will work for you - it changes the registry to a backup system with this backup and restore if you are nervous about this kind of thing):

    1. On the start menu, choose run and type regedit into the registry editor.
    2. Follow this path to the file: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SYSTEM, CurrentControlSet, Control, computer, class
    3. Click: {36FCE60-C465-11CF-8056-4445535400000}
    4. If there is an article called law "UpperFilters", delete it. (See photos)

    Hope this helps someone.

  • Connection of the Smartphones from blackBerry Desktop Manager problem

That is the problem. My Desktop Manager does not connect to my Storm.  The PIN is in the connection options and it will connect via Bluetooth, but every time I plug in the USB the Desktop Manager says port still disconnected.  Also, when plugged into the USB port, the storm every 10 seconds or so goes to a white screen that says connection on the desktop, only it doesn't connect.  Anyone have any ideas?  RIM technical support was not able to help with this problem.  My laptop recognizes it as a Blackberry smart phone under USB connections.   Help someone.  Oh, the operating system is Vista.  I don't know if that makes a difference, but I did add the Bluetooth adapter after installing the Blackberry software.

Understand the problem.  I don't know why, but my firewall was blocking the storm to function properly.  So if someone having this problem also, check your firewall and make sure that the applications can access.

    1. you noted in your profile here you have 'none' as a mobile operator or carrier, is this correct?

    2. did you delete the Vendor.xml from PC?

Go to c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." (You might have another Vendor.xml file hiding on your computer.) Open Windows Explorer, and in organizing key (on Windows 7, there are similar tools for Vista and XP) click on 'folder and search options. On the display tab, make sure that your computer is configured to display the hidden files and folders. Once you have done this, look for your drive C:\ "Vendor.xml".)

    * Starting with later versions of the OS6, there are now three copies of the SELLER. XML
    C:\Program Files\Fichiers Research In Motion\AppLoader (for 32-bit Windows XP/Vista/7)
    ==========OR============
    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader (for 64-bit Windows Vista/7)
    C:\Documents and Settings\ * name * \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
    C:\Documents and Settings\ * name * \Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
You can also just search of the SELLER. XML. ensure that you choose the ADVANCED SEARCH and include hidden files. It should display the file in three places. Delete all copies that it finds.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, upgrade one 8700 4.1... a problem with the Desktop Manager?

I bought this phone as a gift (it has been used only for 3 days so it shouldn't me hardware failures) and am always adapt to it.

The OS is v4.1.0.351, and I expect to give it a bit more use by updating the operating system. Unfortunately, whenever I try to update using a downloaded package and the Desktop Manager (or the line "update" that crosses the D.M., he tells me that my OS is most recent possible. I tried to update a number of times but without success. D.M. is not necessary for updates and does not give me an opportunity to use a downloaded package.

My carrier is T-Mobile, but I am paid in advance (with a BlackBerry, I'm the 8th grader more cool on the block... too bad I'm 22) and the phone is unlocked to all carriers.

    Thank you very much!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

You use this page to get the updated package?

And also according to their complete instructions? If the lot you DL/install on your PC is identical to what is already installed on the BB, which would explain the results you get.

I suspect that you do not use the package totally correctly is enhanced by the present:

    Psyluna wrote:

D.M. is not necessary for updates and does not give me an opportunity to use a downloaded package.

DTM does not such an offer... what you do is to install the package on your PC at the top of the DTM. Then, when you launch DTM, he will offer the update for your OS, but it does not technically she receives DL packaging or not I think. Can be semantic... but just to be clear.

    Finally:

Your specific model of BB is still supported by TM? If not, then they won't be offers a package to update (and all you DL would be on their part is not valid in any case - the package must match exactly to your BB model number... no deviation at all). What you have to do is to pick up the package you want from another carrier and then use these instructions to install:

  • Would I be able to communicate via USB without having to install the Desktop Manager?

Here's my situation. My company has a software product for the office that communicates with a telephone connected via USB. Currently, it is a prerequisite to install the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to be able to use the ability to synchronize our software.

What I am wanting to know is, somehow I was able to realize USB communication without having to install the Desktop Manager? Another question I have is, if it is possible to do this without having to install the Desktop Manager, would there be legal issues that should be considered in what concerns the packaging of the bbdevmgr as well as my package of office software?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones social RSS/BB Core apps - not available in the Desktop Manager?

Hello everyone. I'll have a bit of a problem with my Bold 9700 since update to Os 6. (Details attached).

    OS: 6.0 bundle 1676 (v 6.0.0.418) (platform 6.6.0.105)

    Career: Grameen phone (GP), Bangladesh

    Office Manager: 6.0.1.18 (released: December 6, 2010)

When I connect my BB to the Manager of the Fund, under the 'Applications' tab it does not show any add/del/put option to update the base of BB applications i.e. - BBM, factory installled games or messengers installed (Gtalk, Msn etc.). The only thing displayed are some games/apps I downloaded when I was still with os 5 (attached image).

I also want to add the stream of 'Social' and I understand that this is only possible through Desktop Manager. But, as shown above there is no option to do so.

Is it because I'm on an operating system that is not yet certified by my career? Or something else altogether? What is the solution?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Concerning

    Ashraf

That's the problem with the Office Manager. It will not show the basic BB apps now. To do this, you need to open Loader.exe, a part of the Desktop Manager separately. If you use a windows pc, here's how:
    For x 86 systems:
    C:/Program Files/Common Files/research in Motion/Apploader/Loader.exe
    For x 64 systems:
    C:/Program Files (x 86) /Common Files/research in Motion/Apploader/Loader.exe

Run it and choose your device, type password if requested and then voila, you have everything you want.

BB6 updates to 9700, social feeds app and syn music wireless apps are not installed, sometimes also all the BB extra apps such as games like brickbreaker and doc to go are not installed, then use loader.exe to make. Loader.exe can also update your device and let's you choose which you want to install or remove during the process of updating, requesting the dekstop manager now doesnot apps. So better to use loader.exe to update as well. Regarding the upgrade to an operating system not yet supported by your network, unless yu have a problem with your network, that is to say the calls or the internet, keep the last Os because it offers you more.

All the info and other guides for all associated with blackberry and more are at crackberry, google it and you will get it.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not get the Desktop Manager to recognize the connection to the device

I tried for days now to get the Desktop Manager to recognize a connection on my phone so that I can sync my Outlook contacts and calendar.  So far, I deleted and reinstalled the Manager several times.  I downloaded and installed the driver package.  I tried to do a battery pull before connecting the phone.

Whenever I connect the phone Microsoft "new hardware found" Wizard opens and it recognizes the Blackberry device but it cannot complete the installation of the phone because apparently missing a driver.

I love the phone, but it is useless for me until and unless I can sync it with Outlook.  Any suggestions?

OK, I found and fixed the problem!  It had to do with the new Windows assistant material not being able to find the driver for the Blackberry device.  When I did the uninstall process part included saving the pilot atl.dll.  I assumed it was the driver that I needed to make things work.  I searched on the C: drive for the file, and when the new device Wizard came I pointed to the spot.  The Assistant began to load the driver.  He asked another file that is part of the Service Pack 2 of Windows and I searched and found this one as well and directed the Assistant for her.  It finishes loading and the device is connected.

The problem at the end of the day was that the wizard could not find the driver that he needed, even if it is there all the time.

Thank you for the help, it lead me to the solution I needed.

  • Smartphones blackBerry 'Fatal Error' when you try to update via the Desktop Manager

    Hi all

I hope that there, a genius will be able to help me.

I received and email from RIM this morning, which suggests an upgrade to the current version of the software, that I tried.

It is passed through the implementation of procedure, checking the current version (4.0.0.174) and checked for the latest version. I followed the procedure on the screen instructions showed. The Director of office went through the routine, saved running, then turn off the radio, then as he arrived at the 3/11 TI threw up the "fatal error has occurred during the upgrade. Please try again ".

So I tried again, but the same thing happens.

Curiously, if I go through the device and try a wireless upgrade, it says there is no upgrade to run? !

    Weird indeed.

Even weirder: I just through the upgrade wireless setting, and the device says I have version 4.7.0.141. This does not match the version I posted above! Huh?

Apart from this little problem, I love my Storm! It is the second device, I got it, the first storm put itself and was generally a pain, it seems to behave itself.

    Any help gratefully received

    Matthew

Yes, check with your carrier to see if they have released a newer version of the operating system. I think it's a bug somewhere in the Office Manager. I've updated to the latest version offered by my company, but whenever I use the Desktop Manager it tells me of updates are available. It happens to a lot of people on the boards. I simply cancel in the command prompt

  • Problems of peripheral connection to the Desktop Manager and Apploader.exe blackBerry Smartphones

Just got a new BB8900 last Friday. On Monday, I met a Reload software: 552 error code and after checking online forums for options on how to fix I finally had to reinstall the operating system and reinstall the new applications, which are not checked by the resettlement process. Because I was afraid to become again this error when I rebooted the machine, I immediately made backups every hour I was reconfigure the device and adding my apps.

Today I was going to do another backup for good measure, and once I have connected my Blackberry to the computer with Desktop Manager running, Desktop Manager crashed and gave me the following error message:

    Signature of the problem:
    Problem event name: APPCRASH
    Application name: DesktopMgr.exe
    Application version: 5.0.0.11
    Application timestamp: 4a4bd539

I then tried the APPLOADER. EXE program location in program files/common files/research in motion/apploader. I had used this program yesterday to try to remove applications 1 by 1 with the hope that a single request was causing the error 552. Now for some reason any program as a problem to note the following in the error log file:

Read 1010fffc location caused an access violation.

I've looked through several forums and have not found a solution. What I can tell you is the following:

    (1) the phone works well, but I'm afraid by restarting the phone and another 552 error (there were two deleted apps that will be entirely deleted on reboot). Hope everything is fine but I got two of these 552 errors within 24 and the second came without any warning. If I get this error there is no way to make my backup since I can't connect to DM without it crashing.

    (2) it doesn't seem to be a timing issue, but I deleted the Intellisync folder anyway and it does not solve the problem.

    (3) have rebooted my machine without change to the problem.

    (4) have reinstalled DM Version 5 (this time without Roxio Media software) without change to the problem.

    (5) because now I get an error when connecting to DM and trying to run apploader.exe, there seems to be a setting on my phone which may cause problems (I don't know what it can be, but the APPLOADER program finds a violation of place then maybe the Blackberry software is confused about where to find my Apps?)

    (6) the BlackBerry Device Manager works fine and takes note of my device and the serial number it is necessary.

After my last backup yesterday I probably only installed 3-4 other apps that I had lost and organized/moved files on the phone. So get this problem if shortly after that everything worked fine is staggering.

Another update: it seemed to me I found the problem.  While RIM support recommended I do a reset, I pushed the rest of the phone feature seems to work very well.  I opted to start removing the one phone applications and then try to connect to the Desktop Manager.

Once I removed the ZDNet Tech News For the IT professional and rebooted the phone, I was able to connect and make a backup. I'm sure this app works very well for almost everyone, but for some reason (maybe it is in conflict with another application on my phone), Desktop Manager does not do that and close. Initially, I reinstalled again and was able to make a new backup but an hour later Desktop Manager stops again (perhaps by doing an update on the news it creates a conflict with the Desktop Manager).

Indeed summary of learning since my problem seems to be quite uniqueCurve 8900)

    (1) if the Director of bureau stops and you have tried other solutions on the forums such as deleting the folder Intellisync and reinstalling Desktop Manager, try to remove applications 1 by 1 and restart the phone before trying to connect again to Desktop Manager.

    (2) If you have had this problem, frequently make backups and keep track of what you add to your phone in case there is a problem you know the latest apps to remove (in my case, I couldn't go to my last backup since DM would be closed with the conflict of the app).

    (3) only consider a wipe of the device if you have exhausted your apps withdrawal tests.  Apps that came on your phone which notes the seller in the section about the application that RIM should be good.  Also while on AppWorld apps are offered by BlackBerry, there is no certainty that they will work on your phone.

  • Uncaught exception handler application when you install the application via the Desktop Manager

    Hello

I sometimes have a problem when I install my application on the new phones (mainly with OS6 and OS7) using the Desktop Manager. When installing the application net_rim_bb_trust_application_manager raises an uncaught exception as if had been stalled and its eventqueue was too long. The application itself is installed and works perfectly after a battery pull.

The question is a bit like the problem described in this thread:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/Autostart-on-installation/m-p/471949#M94686

The problem is that the solution mentioned here does not solve my problem. My request to have multiple entry points and one of them is an autostart entry point but she must leave the application, unless a parameter in the application autostart enabled (which is not the default). I don't see how this should pose problems for the application manager.

It is also worth mentioning that this happends only when the application is installed the first time on a new device or a new version of the application that is signed with a different code signing key is installed on the device. The problem will not occur if the application is uninstalled and then installed again. This makes me think that it's something with the permissions to a...?

Someone at - it had the same problem and solved it?

Here are the 'new' version of this same article:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/write-safe-initialization-code/Ta-p/444795

Not sure this is the same problem however, because the user described the problem as being present during the installation, date at which the device is fully functional.

I agree that it is likely to be a permissions issue.  I saw on some devices that the app will throw a ControlledAcessException on first installation, associated with the PersistentStore.  My suspicion is that there is a kind of race condition between the code that runs the auto-start and the code that is supply completely, for the first time the auto start run on installation, the device is not ready for it.  I thought a few seconds delay automatic start of treatment of coding, but never tested it.
