Restarted during the update of windows, computer will not start correctly
I recently formatted my computer and reinstall all updates. Recently, I accidentally shut down the computer during the beginning of an automatic update. I restarted the computer and it starts up to the circle of windows vista, made some noise, but then the screen flashes and turns off every 5 to 10 seconds. The hand sign and a symbol of loading can be seen through.

In addition, the sound stops for a moment and then continues. It seems broken.I did restore the several points system and system repair, and nothing helps. System restore failed and system repair said everything was fine.

accidentally turned off during the update of windows
Guys, im using sony vaio with vista premium OS and it is automatically updated, I had used to remove my battery for use at home, during the update of windows, I accidentally kick off the power cord and it disconnected from the main power switch and turned off, when I open it I saw a note on the bottom right 'tm this copy of windows vista is not authentic.
someone could help me on this guys, how can I do recover without reformatting my laptop.
Please help me guys...
Thanks in advance...
Needless to say, cutting the current during the update process can cause all sorts of problems - many not even related to the update itself. It is a common branching.
Do you know when this problem started? Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started. Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/. Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points. If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two. NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates. I don't know if this will solve the problem, but it might. It's worth a try (and it can be useful if there are other problems that you have not yet detected). Whether or not it works, you will need to re - install the update (and this time won't turn off - LOL).
If you still have the problem of validation after system restore, and then click Start / computer / system properties and check the bottom of the Activation section. Your system always shows that it is enabled? If this isn't the case, then reactivate. To activate manually, go to start, search, and type in slui 4 enter. Enter your country and press Next. You will be on a screen with a phone number and a bunch of codes below. Dial the number and browse automatic guests until you get to a human being. Have your handy product code because it will be asked. Explain the situation, but it's the same PC. They should give you a code to enter on this screen to activate Vista.
If this does not resolve the "not genuine" message, please post your problem in the Windows Genuine Advantage Forum: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinevista/threads , where the experts on this kind of problem will be more than happy to help you with your problem. They will probably ask you to run a program and download the results so they can examine in order to find the problem - just follow their instructions.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:

The failure of DST short is normally indicative of a hard drive that has failed and must be replaced.
The operating system and the software can be reinstalled using recovery discs that you made or purchased from HP.
In order to use the recovery disks, you need to replace the hard drive with one of the same storage capacity or more.

Vista - computer will not start without the disc
loaded vista on my computer - now computer will not start without the disc
Went into my bios as suggested to check the boot order - and, Yes, I got HDD1 as first boot then CD - but then I remembered something I had seen earlier on my computer - it was on the list the HD which had my system like HDD0 files - so, I checked and there it was - listed option HDD0 so I changed HDD1 of HDD0 and was able to boot my computer without the disk system. Hope this helps someone else with the same prob.

Way around being hung to one outlet during the update of Windows Vista Service Pack 2?
I have a problem, I have a laptop Toshiba where AC internal adapter is broken, it has been for some time - but my buddy has also a Toshiba laptop computer, where I can just return for batteries between the two and this system has worked fine just now, the problem - I could do my Windows updates business as usual until Service Pack 2 for Vista, it will not allow the installation of the update because my laptop is on battery. Is there a way to get around this? I have of course no way to connect to food unless it is repaired, and at this point I just prefer to get a new laptop that money put into this one - I'm hoping somewhere someone has suggestions! :( Help! Thank you!
Hello Victoria MariaElena.
Unfortunately, there is not another way. Your laptop must be powered by the sector during the update to avoid the laptop shut down due to lack of battery power.
