restoration of Internet on iMac fails

What I need to do on my iMac, it's doing a restore of the internet back to the original operating system for the iMac. I restarted with the command-option-R keys and got into the mode of restoration of the internet. It got to the point of giving me the choice of wifi networks and I have authenticated successfully to a wifi network. Then, after a few minutes, I was presented with graphic of circle with a line through it. Looks internet restoration had failed. Am I missing something? I have to prepare my Mac somehow in order for the restoration of the Internet at work?

Of your recovery Partition, run disk utility > first aid and tell us what he reports.

In addition, some additional features on your Mac would be useful. What year is your Mac and what system are you running?

  • Restore full Internet on nine hard drive?

    Hello Internet,

The hard drive on my iMac 21.5 mid 2010 "(EMS 2389) failed (SMART error)." He became very disabled, very quickly. Time machine would not work. I consider myself lucky to have saved my most important files manually.

I successfully removed the old HD and replaced it with a new Seagate 1 TB hybrid. I'm pretty impressed with myself, given my total lack of experience; but now I'm running into trouble.

When that I start my computer, it goes directly into the recovery of the internet (spin the globe, "it can take a long time"). The spinning globe countdown for fifteen minutes and then goes to a gray screen with the Apple logo. I lost my patience the first time and restarted the process, after about five hours.  I have restarted the process, the world of spinning for 15 min and are now waiting on the screen of the Apple logo for 15 hours. I don't know if it is doing anything at all here?

Note that I never get information; No Apple ID, no internet wi - fi, nothing. I held cmnd-R two attempts on initialize to top, thinking I could get recovery disk. I think I was wrong about that, because the drive is new and not formatted.

I don't really know what to do at this point. I couldn't find a good answer to my situation online. Can anyone help? Thank you!

Well, recovery of the Internet does not seem to work. I was able to start my original install dvd supplied with the computer. I probably should have done this first.  I created a partition and install OS X. But I have a few questions.

Restart the computer after successful installation. I then get a strong funky welcome intro and she goes into the installer. I enter the wi - fi, Apple ID, ect.  I get to the final screen "create your account" and it freezes.  This happened several times, if I deleted the partionition and started the installation again.

I'm currently waiting on creating your account again screen. Not sure if it is frozen or if it takes just time? My cursor is not a spinning wheel of color as before.

I thought installing a new hard drive would be the hardest part. This is getting frustrating. Someone at - it advice?

  • System Restore Windows 7 64-bit fails every time

When I try a system restore, the process will appear to the front without a hitch but after that restart message appears failed to restore and suggests anti-virus software, might have been the problem but even after you disable the antivirus (I use AVG), the results are the same. A specific software that can interfere with the restore process exist?

I have not had any disaster that could use a restoration for a bailout but I suspect it will happen eventually.

    Hi Harry,.

I understand that you are unable to run the restore of the system on the windows computer 7.

Help me with little information on this issue.

    1. What is the full error message?

    2. are you the same error even after disabling security software?

Follow the steps and check if that helps.

    Method 1:

Temporarily disable the Antivirus and firewall

    Enable or disable Windows Firewall

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2

Put the computer in a clean boot state to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After completing the troubleshooting steps, see "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a boot minimum troubleshooting".

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

Method 4: Scan your computer for computer viruses,

Run a scan full using SMS (Microsoft Safety Scanner) to make sure that the computer is virus-free.

A quick way to search for viruses is to use an online, such as the Microsoft Safety Scanner scanner. The scanner is a free online service that helps you identify and remove viruses, clean your hard drive and generally to improve the performance of your computer.

To run the Microsoft Safety Scanner:

    (a) go to the page Web of the Microsoft Safety Scanner to download the scanner.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

    (b) click Download now, and then follow the instructions on the screen.

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: All by performing the analysis on the hard drive, if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when scanning try to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

Hope this information helps. If you have any other questions feel free to respond and we would be happy to help you.

  • Can not take point of causing 0x8004230F restoration of the WU to fail

Original title: can't install Windows updates, or take a Restore Point - error 0x8004230F

I have a Windows Vista Service Pack 1 32-bit system.  I was not able to install updates for a while - there are a total of 60 updates, it's trying to install every time I power off.  I tried a manual update, and it fails because it cannot take a system restore point before it begins.  So it can never install anything.  When I try to take a restore point, he said that the operation has failed with a code of 0x8004230F, shadow copy volume.  I saw similar errors on this forum and have tried the solutions listed but no hand have gotten so far.  Any help and advice about what to do next would be much appreciated!

    Thank you for your response.

What I had in fact already been http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833 (KB92833, the SFC command); It was 'clean '.  I tried MalWarebytes - which was clean.  I looked at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 - but by clicking the Fixit has not helped, as he wanted to install a software - my original problem was that I couldn't install anything.  I went through the manual of instructions on this page to the best that I could.  Positions regsrvr32 wouldn't work, some with entry point not found, and some with failed to load.  Several of the listed modules are not on the system at all (and not on another Vista Home Premium machine I watched).

I worked on how to delete all updates that were piled (by renaming the SoftwareRepository file in Windows).  Then do a manual update to return them again - they would not even install. It was because the system had to first make a system restore point and could not.

However, I finally got the system works after trying various KB points and other suggestions - Finally, that I noticed that one of the suggestions, including VSS and stop SWPRV services and do a bunch of commands Regsrvr32 - I noticed that SWPRV service did not stop, because it was not running.  So, I put the service starts automatically, and after restarting the system, everything worked.  I guess it wasn't just get SWPRV service to run, but also all the Regsrvr32 elements I'd done it before as well.

I can't believe that it would be as simple as having just SWPRV service that works!

  • Backup Windows and Protection/restoration of the point system failed to create (Vista32 Ultimate).

I noticed this problem a few days ago.  I don't know what could have caused the system to change behavior. The last good backup comes from 26/12/2010.  Protection system reports find no restore point on the disk (System), used for the creation of these previoiusly.

After reviewing some of the other threads on this site describing similar problems, I tried some of their recommendations without success (e.g. restoration rotating on and outside, software disabling AV and security, clean the system with Malwarebytes [he found something called "Closetmaid" and deleted] and Prevx, run CheckDSK, run the System File Checker [which is not able to fix the Desktop.ini but nothing else I've seen]) , and, of course, punctuated by reboots.

The behavior of the System Protection tool is it hangs at the opening for about 2 hours. or while displaying the message "searching for restore points.  Once completed, it lists the system drive and the external backup drive and no restore point (they were taken on the system drive).  The system drive is checked.  Select "Create" translates into another hit hour 2 or more, followed by nothing, either the error 81000101 - timeout.  Unchecking the system drive and clicking 'Apply' committed another shot of 2-3 hours, which finally ends.  However, the complete tool never leave once you click on 'OK '.

Backups performed for 20 initial minutes indicating approximately 20% of step and then simply stroll.  Each progresses of appearance (after some previous attempt of sanitation) running at exactly the same progression bar position before the hanging.  After a few hours, the backup process error 8004230F.  All the normal things have been verified.  The backup volume has enough free space (and was CheckDSK'ed, as well as the volume of the system being backed up properly), volume shadow copy service is started and running and its dependent services, RPC and DCOM are launched and running.

I noticed another suggests to fix vssui.dll in another thread (http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistainstall/thread/9a7621ba-4cef-4264-a90c-87209e7e7d60) that I have not been able to apply and which is the re-registration of a series of dll, among them. I have no copy of vssui.dll on my system to record. It is listed under a Vista32 thread so I guess I should have it.

Other problems reported in the execution of the dll Re-recordings suggest the thread above were:

    (1) "ole32.dll module was loaded but the call to DLLREgisterServer failed with error code 80070005.

    (2) ' module loaded but the call to DllInstall eventcls.dll failed with error code 8000FFFF.

    (3) "es.dll loaded module, but the entry point DllRegisterServer was not found."

    (4) 'module vssui.dll failed to load."  Please make sure that...

    The other steps were successful.

I had this problem also (Win 7 Pro) on the new installation.  As others have said that it is through the VSS (Volume Shadow Service) feature be corrupted.

In my case, it was because of software that included drivers for my motherboard.  There is a backup/restore utility which took control of the "false" Windows Restore and VSS feature & backup of MS of the system.

Go to the system event log and sort through VSS.  Then search for errors on the VSS or the backup.  Is particularly important to look at the "Information" events that led to the error.  They are more revealing than the error itself real.  The error is misleading for me.  In any case, look in the Inbox details information for the process that was involved.  My bet is that you need a 3rd part/application that needs to be removed.

I have fought with this problem for weeks and stumbled on the errant software.  I did not intentionally install it.  So look for software that could have been bundled with other applications or drivers.

    Good luck

    John

  • OfficeJet pro 8620: iMac failing to connect

Follow-up set upward on my mac pro computer laptop and everything of fine. It communicates as expected. I follow the same established procedure on my iMac, but it cannot connect.  The iMac is on the network, connects to another good printer, but not HP.  I rebooted the printer and iMac, but still no connection.  What should I do?

    Thank you

    Hello @PLC4265,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are able to print one of your Mac to your HP Officejet Pro 8620 systems wireless e-all-in-one printer. However, your other iMac running Mac OS X 10.10 is not able to connect to your HP Officejet wireless. I would like to help you today with this problem of connectivity.

Because we know that one of your systems works very well, I don't think that this problem is caused by a conflict of networking with the printer. On the contrary, it may a driver, security or networking with the iMac conflict. To isolate this problem and fix it, I'll make you check to see if your iMac and HP Officejet currently communicating on the network. Please follow the steps below.

    1. On the front panel of your Officejet tap installation (key)
    2. Select Network Configuration
    3. Select the wireless settings
    4. Select view wireless details
    5. Please take note of the SSID network name and IP address
    6. On your iMac, please check that your iMac is connected to the exact same name as your printer network SSID. Do not connect to networks of comments . Also avoid connecting them to 5 GHz connections. If you have a double router band it can broadcast the 5 GHz and 2 GHz. Printers are supported only through connections of 2 ghz . If you don't know how to check this, you may need to speak with your router manufacturer.
    7. Once you determine the SSID of your network is perfect, please open the internet browser on your iMac
    8. In the address bar of you please enter the IP address that brought you to the printer. Do not include the www.
    9. Search this site.
    10. A Web site for your printer should now open.
    • If a Web site for your printer does not open: This indicates that your printer and your computer do not communicate on the network.
    • If a Web site for your printer opens correctly: This indicates that your printer and your computer communicate on the network successfully. Don't you just iMac "sees" your printer when you run the installation program?

Please reply to this message with the result of the opening of the site (browser EWS) printers using the printers IP address. I look forward to hear from you!

I am trying to download a video file of a local community TV show with band access of my grandchlidrens to I can post it on their site. I have done in the past with youtube and vimeo videos but won't have a chance with that.

Basically, I need to download the video file to my iMac, so I can upload it to YouTube the children channel.

Here is the link to the show:

    http://VP.telvue.com/preview?ID=T05199 & Video = 284822

Can someone help me? Or is it simply not feasible?

My iMac is a 2011.5 and I always use the Mountain Lion.

    Thank you

    David

It seems not feasible. I have several tools for downloading videos, but they do not work on the page. In addition, the video does not seem to be cached to recover in this way.

I guess you could communicate with the station and see if they would make you a copy.

    Cute children btw.

  • Windows 7 Internet games to fail with the error Code 0x8004100x

I'm running a machine, Windows 7 Professional, where I manage hundreds of computers remotely.  (I hope, that will alleviate the need for anyone to ask me to check my internet connection.)

It is unpredictable whether or not I will be able to properly play a trump play stings on the Internet.  At one point, he's going to connect to the game server, find players and connect to the game, but do not start the game.  If I try again, it will start the game in a few seconds.  Here again, it may crash when connecting to the server or the game.  But over several days, I can't play a game about half of the time I tried.  The rest of the time, I get this error:

"A network error occurred during communication with the game server.

    "Error code: 0 x 80041009.

On other occasions, the error code is 0 x 80041006 or 0 80041004 x.  In this case if I do anything else with my connection or not.  I could be listening to Pandora or watch a live news feed, but I can't play Spades.  I might be able to play Backgammon Internet very well, but not of spades.  Less often, I can play Spades but not Backgammon.

And this error occurs on other computers I use, too.  For example, my son may very well play World of Warcraft.  But Trump stings on the Internet cannot connect to its server.

There is no problem with my computer.  I've never seen a game with more reliable performance network - no matter the reason.

Thanks for your reply, Aaron.  I did these tests, but nothing has changed.

HOWEVER, after I had re-enabled everything that I had turned off and restarted the machine, I then installed the Tower from the end of September of Microsoft Updates (I did the 10/4, after that I had tested the updates before distribution to my networks). These are updates that I have installed on this machine:

    • For .NET 3.5.1 security update (KB2416471)
    • Update of security for .NET 4 (KB2416472)
    • Update for Windows 7 (KB2158563)
    • Update for Microsoft Silverlight (KB2416427)
    • Microsoft - other hardware - peripheral USB Microwosft mouse
    • Update for IE8 (KB2362765) compatibility view list
    • Update for Windows 7 (KB2288621)

After the restart, I tried the games a few hours later, and I was able to play about 90% of the time - a record! -without receiving the network error.

It is worth noting that I restarted the computer three times while testing the elements start and then once after installing the updates, date at which I have found improvement in connectivity game.  I rebooted the computer twice since and the games play much. (Relatively: I call 'good' 90%.)
