Restoration of old photos 'crocodile' skin

Hello

I read a very interesting article (http://www.digitalcameraworld.com/2013/01/18/restore-old-photos-how-to-rescue-vintage-prin ts-and-family-images/2 /) on the restoration of old photos. Many of these techniques are quite useful and helped me to solve the fundamental problems of the photos of the 1960s.

I have a very specific problem, although with a few photos, we look like the 'crocodile' skin and the other is more like a hive of bees, I ask you your opinion as to which method to use to eliminate. Here are a few close-ups of the two cases:

Skin 'crocodile ':

Untitled-3.jpg

"Hive":

Untitled-2.jpg

I don't even know why or how these photos done like that. But looks like a tricky thing. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!!

The effect of your original image is called crack and you will most often see in old paintings. To reduce or eliminate, you can:

1. open the file and add a duplicated layer (Cmd + J)

2. filter > blur > Gaussian blur with a RADIUS sufficient to lose all the reprehensible cracks. I found, with your image, it took a muscular radius of 20 pixels. (When you remove freckles, it takes much less.)

3, in the history panel, click the check box next to Gaussian blur to move the tool form of history in this area.

4. still in the history panel click on the stage directly above the market of Gaussian blur.  Note that the blur has disappeared from your image.

5. choose the tool shape history in the list of tools and because the crack is darker than the skin and you want to eliminate, in the Options bar, change the mode to lighten.

6. with the paint history sharp brush through small areas of the surface taking care to avoid the places that appear sharp - or as strong as this picture seems to be.

The lines dark crack will be replaced. In this case the step 6 took a few minutes.

  • Lost a phone, Got new, but not of old photos/files

A few days ago, I lost my phone here in Paris.

I didn't have much choice but to get a new phone and SIM here in France.

The old phone has not been saved on the cloud, since I have backup directly to my computer. I have not saved since I left 3 weeks ago.

So with my new phone, I took some photos yesterday.  I have set up as good as new. Is not restored because my computer is still in the United States. When I got home, the new phone connected to Wi - fi, started filling with pictures 3 weeks ago. I turned backup to the cloud for sure all that is saved. I was pretty happy so far.

This morning, I found none of the photos from my old phone on the stream of the new phone. I thought that she was saved on my cloud. I checked my iCloud desktop, and none of the old photos are here. I am currently at the Apple Store in the Louvre. Nobody here can give me a solution.

Any help will be much appreciated.

You use Apple the same ID as the old phone?

Have you seen the old phone synchronization iCloud photo library?

  • How can I save my iPhone if it's not new and I don't want to restore from old session?

So, I've been really bad at backing up my iPhone. I have the iPhone 6 and had essentially when it came out. I backed up the phone right about then (11/10/14). Since then, I've only really imported my photos in iPhoto, but has not actually backed up the phone to iTunes.

So now when I back up my phone, the 2 options are: set up as new iPhone or restore to the last backup (over a year ago).

I fear that one of these options will erase the info on my phone that I really want to backup (for most people).

Still more worried that one of these options will remove all the pictures, I have in iPhoto? Which is possible? Are those that are related? I mean, if I've already imported my photos in iPhoto and leaves then say I restore from old backup, he would not touch the files in iPhoto, correct? It would erase the photos on my phone? (I ask because I know pictures are part of the backup in iTunes).

Basically, I need advice. What are the advantages/disadvantages of each option? And is there a way to simply make a new fresh backup with this phone without "set up as new" (which is wiping clean) or "very old backup restore" (which is put old info on and deletion again)?

Both options seem to be bad for me right now, and I'm afraid to try one or the other for fear that I just screw up. Help, please!

When you are presented these two options (set up as a new or restore from last backup), can you do the following:

Choose any of these options.  Leave these options stay there and ignore them.  Use instead the iTunes menu to select:

    File > devices > upward

I don't know if the above is possible.  But if this is the case, try again.

    Hello Dulceallison,

Please ask questions on iCloud and photos after the iOS 10 update here in Apple Support communities. We don't like hearing about questions after each update or upgrade. I am pleased to offer you some things to check to help you with your photos are blurred and alerts that you have received with iCloud.

The first thing we want to make sure is that all your data is safe. You can perform a backup to iCloud or iTunes. Use this article to help with this: backing up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Once your data is safe, we need to verify your configuration and ensure iCloud library is enabled and check if you are using the storage optimization feature. Please open this help link: iCloud photo library. There is a section on titled mid-race "save space on the device. He talks about the storage settings optimize. When this option is enabled, you will get in their original, high-resolution images of resolution lower, while iCloud library keeps all your photos and videos. You can check and see what images are stored in iCloud by clicking on this link: icloud.com, sign in using the same Apple ID that is connected on your iPhone. Click on the Photos. If you use iCloud photo library, you will be able to see all your photos. Upstairs in the Center, it allows you to see Moments or Albums, and if you scroll all the way down it will tell you how many photos and videos that you have. Also, some scroll down and try to check a few who appear fuzzy on your iPhone. Icloud.com are also blurred it?

If you use iCloud photo library, and even if you see lower resolution versions of the photos on your iPhone, they should not be blurred. Make sure that you have made a backup and then please go to settings > iCloud on your iPhone. Turn off the photo library iCloud, wait a minute or two and then turn it back on. It should be re - synchronize your iPhone with iCloud. Check if the images are still unclear. If they are, please fully sign off iCloud on your iPhone. There are options to save contacts on the iPhone, and other documents and other will be deleted form the unit. Don't worry, this information is recorded with iCloud and also saved in the backup. Once all signed, restart your iPhone. This article will help you if you need the steps to restart the appliance: restart your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. Once the device powers turn it back on, go ahead and return to the settings > iCloud. Sign in with the same Apple ID that was signed previously. It may take a few minutes to return all documents, data, photos, contacts, and calendars, but once this is done, go ahead and check your photos. They match the icloud.com images? Are they accuse still blurry on your iPhone only? See if you can isolate a specific set of images, or if all the photos on the iPhone are blurred.

I hope that steps with deactivation and activation of photos in iCloud or logout and back in iCloud has resolved the issue, but if not, please provide the information for the steps that we have achieved together so far and I'll be more than happy to continue checking of other options to get this working as expected with you. Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.

Your old profile is located under "roaming."
For Thunderbird there is nothing that you need to restore from "local."

  • How can I restore my old homepage on Firefox? I have now, it was very simple home page, but I want it back.

I tried with tools > options > general and Firefox Start typing and choosing some options I chose before when I had the same problem. But rather than win my old home page with a central part that resembled this image http://www.googleplusblog.it/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/mozilla-firefox-start-page-1.jpg , I get a google home page. last 2 days I was able to restore my old homepage, but now nothing. I also tried with reset firefox, still nothing, just had to get my addonns installed it again. I liked my old homepage visually and really want to come back. In the past I have had similar problems but had it fixed and now I don't know what to do.

Hello Vidabg, you cannot restore this old homepage. It was not maintained after firefox 4, but it was still hosted by google for the time that the search between google and mozilla contract was in place, which now is no longer the case. the new default homepage that uses firefox now is Subject: House.

  • How to restore my old password?

My computer crashed last week and I restored the old hard disk on a drive hard new without any problems so far. Well, when I went to restore the passwords file it doesn't let me. I hung out with firefox closed the key3db and the logins.json on my new hard drive and replace the existing files. When I opened firefox it is just empty. I had a main password set in place on my old browser, which im assuming is the cause not to work? I know that most of my passwords, but there are some out there that I really need restored, and I would like to solve this problem.

You also have a possible signons.sqlite file to the other computer and you can try?

You see that a master password is used in the password manager?

You can force Firefox to re-import the file signons.sqlite passwords (you need the corresponding signons3.txt file).

    • reset the signon.importedFromSqlite pref on the topic: config page by default via the context menu
    • Delete the logins.json file in the closed Firefox with Firefox profile folder

When you restart Firefox, then you should have the pref signon.importedFromSqlite with the value set to true and you should have the passwords into password manager, unless he could have errors.

  • Old photos have not been deleted, even if it's been more than 2 months and keep crashing the photo library in icloud.

Earlier this year, I used the library to icloud to back up my photos. Everything worked well. After awhile, I deleted the photos and off synchronization from photo library. Today, I decided that I wanted to use again, so I turned it on. It seems to work fine but when I connect to my PC I have the chance to see the old photos have not been removed. They seem to be corrupt (there is an exclamation mark instead of a thumbnail) and I can not open them, instead the library hangs. It has been more than 2 months, I suppose that even if I forgot to delete some photos, they should be gone now. Is there a way to fix this?

    a few things

1 - iCloud Photo is not a backup - it's a synchronization service - see FAQ-apples iCloud Photo library FAQ - Apple Support

    More precisely

    Do I need a backup?

ICloud library stores all of your photos and original videos in iCloud, but we still recommend that track you return of copies of your library. You can upload your photos and videos to iCloud on your computer and store them in a separate library, transfer them to another computer with transfer of images or Photosor store them on a separate disk.

2 - ICPL can be accessed through Safari - connect to iCloud.com can click on the picture and see what's there - look in the recently deleted album and see what's there

    3. we need to know the details - you have other devices using the same iCloud account?

  • Pictures not download old photos to icloud

    Hello

I have a mac mini server mid-2010 running OS X El Capitan version 10.11.4.

I have the version 1.5 of the photos.

I have a considerable amount of old photos that have never been transferred to iCloud. I can think back to August 2013 on the iCloud.com site and my other devices (iPhone, iPad, mac book).

When I go to Preferences (in photos) I have iCloud photo library, my photo stream and checked iCloud photo sharing. I optimize Mac selected storage but I tried to download originals for the mac too. It is said to date earlier, which means she feels he has uploaded and downloaded everything to iCloud but this is incorrect.

Another response of support that I have seen that the person has proposed to cancel the process of cloudd and I did. No change. I've also seen to disconnect from iCloud in system preferences, iCloud, disconnect you. When I do this it says that your iCloud library is updating. He warned that all images not downloaded will be deleted. My only options are to turn off or continue the update. Ive tried to continue the update not for about 4 days and no change.

Can anyone help with what I can do to get the photos uploaded to iCloud for backup and access on all my devices?

It is said to date earlier, which means she feels he has uploaded and downloaded everything to iCloud but this is incorrect.

Create a smart album in your photo library ' file > new Smart Album.

Define the constraint for the smart album for "picture is unable to download to iCloud photo library." This album is empty?  If this is not the case, look at the photo format.  Some file formats more prevent the upload to iCloud photo library, for example "PICT", TIFF formats with more than 8 bits, or similar.

Also the files that were imported as referenced cannot download on iCloud photo library and will show as "Local." only

Search for "Photo is referenced" as well.

  • I can't delete old photos on my iPad version 8.1.3. What should I do?

I have an iPad version 8.1.3 April 2012. I am told now that the capacity is full. I then tried to remove a lot of old photos of 2012, 2013 and 2014, but there is no rubbish, so I do not know how to proceed. What should I do?

How the pictures came on the iPad? If they have been synchronized from a computer, you cannot delete directly on the iPad, you must reconnect the iPad to iTunes to your computer and use the Photos tab in iTunes to change your selection of photo sync and Resync. To remove all synced photos try selecting and sync just an empty folder

Restoration of old keychain after resetting the default keychain.

I have "reset my default keychain" in Keychain Access after learning that he was the new version of "first aid" on the update OS X El Capitan.

He said that a new keychain will be saved by default and moved my old side (but not deleted)

I want to restore my old bunch who was moved aside but can't seem to find all the information on how to do it.

    Thank you very much

    Elliot

The old keychain must be in ~/Library/keychains.  Rename the old keychain back to login.keychain.  If you do not know the password for the keychain of old connection then you will not be able to unlock it.  The old login Keychain password is different from the user account password, you'll want to change the corresponding password.

  • Photos saving disk space to share images with your iPhoto or Aperture libraries.  Should which library I use to remove old photos?  If I delete old photos in iPhotos appear in pictures and vice versa?

Should which library I use to remove old photos?  iPhoto or Photos?

If you migrated a library iPhoto to Photos and you want to release the storage, you should remove the pictures of these two libraries.

Related photos storage only comes out, after that the last linked file has been deleted.  If you do not use more of the iPhoto library, move it to a backup drive. Then simply delete the photos of your new photo library.
