Restore error 'file \minint\System32\kdcom.dll could not be loaded. The error code is 4 "

Hello...

I have a DELL D830 with XP and I get the message:

File \minint\System32\kdcom.dll could not be loaded. The error code is 4.

Everytime I try and restore my computer...

What can I do to fix this, that does not cost a lot of money?
The only cost of $180 (refurbished) computer... I really don't want to pay that much to fix this...

It sucks, virus SUCK!  Why do people do the virus? (it seems lame)

Help, please!

I had installed security trend, however apparently the virus that caused this exceeded the trend...

Hi NickRider,

Follow these methods.

Method 1: Performs a search using the Microsoft safety scanner.

http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Method 2: Disconnect all external devices and try to start the computer.

Method 3: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

(a) click Start, run.

(b) type msconfigand click OK.

(c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

(d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

  • Code error 0x7E - the file 'autorun.dll' could not be loaded or is damaged. Setup cannot continue. Windows 7 Upgrade installation problem

I tried to install Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade, 32-bit version. My current system is an Intel iMac (later), with Windows XP - SP3 loaded as a virtual machine with Parallels Desktop 4.0 build 3848 (according to their website, it is supposed to support Windows 7).

I allocated enough space RAM and HARD drive of the virtual machine to run Windows 7. No matter what I do, when I try to run setup.exe, I get the error message: "the file 'autorun.dll' could not be loaded or is corrupt. Setup cannot continue. Error code is [0x7E].

The file 'autorun.dll' is present on the disk.

I saw on the internet that other people have also had this problem, with or without Parallels Desktop, and get a replacement DVD of Windows 7 program made no difference to them. Nor is it an available answer, I've seen.

My Windows 7 disc is new, so I was hoping that Microsoft could solve the problem for me?

    Thank you.

OK, so, this response is a little late to come, but if you never solved...

I just encountered the same problem - editing similar (Mac, Parallels 5 in my case, the SP3 of XP, MS Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade) - you must make sure that the DVDROM drive hardware is mapped to "D:" on your XP installation. Thus on the Parallels Desktop menu go to devices, CD/DVD1 and make sure that all your actual DVD player is called is selected (should be the vertical entry in the menu) - not true CD/DVD. The reader should then start and auto run.

  • OCMSN.dll could not be loaded

I use windows XP.  After installing Firefox browser IE stopped working. Uninstalled IE such as advised by ISP Tech I tried to download and install IE several times again with no luck.  Another tech said to go to the control panel and Windows components and check Add IE.  Components Windows gives me the message-Setup library OSMSN.dll could not be loaded, or function entry Oc is not found. Contact your system administrator.  The specific error code is Ox7e.  Also anything to be opened in a Micro Word and Power Point reader does not open, told to go to the control panel and select where to open.

Is there a fix for this if I can use new IE?

    Thank you

    Thelma Hawk

I don't know what are all your other computer problems, but if you mean that you see a message like this:

    The Windows XP Setup program
Setup library Ocmsn.dll could not be loaded, or function OcEntry could not be found.
Contact your system administrator.  The specific error code is 0x7e.

    Clicking OK gets:

    The Windows XP Setup program
The application could not be initialized.

I would say that Microsoft committed Support Engineer 'expert' is just send you in addition to their hunting wild goose.

First of all, the file is not in the c:\windows\system32 folder.
Second of all, the file is not a registrable DLL.
I'm shocked that they indicated no sfc/scannow, but who will either replace the missing file.

I would just replace the file (that's why I know what looks like the error message), but maybe we'll learn something from these 'experts' then maybe you'll have some better luck with those of other ideas.

  • mscoreei.dll could not be loaded

When I try to launch the app HPadvisor.exe on my HP Vista sp2 m9517c, I get the following error message:

    C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.net\Framework64\v4.0.30319\mscoreei.dll could not be loaded.

I did a repair reinstall .netv4 (64-bit) from the MS. website I received a message that says that it was installed correctly.

Then, I rebooted my machine. However, I still get the same error message when I try to run HPadvisor.exe.

Anyone know how to fix this?

    Thank you

    Florian

As hpadvisor.exe is a security monitor of Hewlett-Packard belonging to HP Total Care Advisor, I would check with HP to see if this is a known issue.

They would be able to help you with troubleshooting on this issue.

My Windows Mail does not open.  It gives me a message saying, ' Windows Mail could not be started because MSOE. " DLL could not be loaded. "How can I fix in order to regain access to my e-mail address?

The only other thing I can suggest is to back up and then delete the following registry keys:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail

I start with the first and then see if it works.  If this isn't the case, then delete them both.

    Page file space 24.0 GB
    File E:\pagefile.sys

Drop the question above actually lead to what may be a solution... The fix for Windows Vista pre SP1 fixes an issue with the (cloned) dynamic disks used to store the paging file.  I have two drives on the clone (E:\) which the system information noticed the location of the swap file.  I put the pagefile drive to C:\ in the event where it was the same problem, such as reported in the hotfix, but it has not fixed the problem...  So I assumed that this fix has been exceeded and a coincidence. But the information system showed the swapfile E:\, my dynamic disks...

What has removed the error is "double adjustment" the return to C:\ drive.  Apparently once is not enough.  I put the pagefile on C:\ managed and rebooted system.  Then I noticed the mistake of volmgr came from miroir3 (second player in E:\) still info system showed the swapfile on C:\.   Weird indeed.  I went and be given the C:\ drive as the system swap drive to managed by activation/deactivation/Executive every car out of the current value, and then back to the desired direction.  After having done that and restart once more the error no longer appears in the event viewer at startup.

The only thing worse than a BSOD, no BSOD.
