Restore the original BIOS settings?

All the:

I made a blunder and entered the thought of BIOS there was a safety for why lock Windows 7 wouldn't boot with my Nvidia GTX 590.  So I disabled the security for each PCI slot.  Uggghh... Now I get a POST beep and no boot up to BIOS at all.

Should I just remove the battery on the MB and put it back to get my original BIOS settings?

If you more pop to HP.COM support pages and search your PC, there are manuals for the motherboard for each system. And they show you how to reset your CMOS. Here is an example for a motherboard of Chicago:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02854392

Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see the "Clearing CMOS Settings"

Good luck

    Hi SKGIRL11,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Answers forum.  You can restore your system using restore points.

    Use the system restore feature:

    1. click on Start, type System Restore in the Search box, and then click System Restore under the programs section. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.

    2. on the System Restore page, click Next.

    3. Select a restore point during which you know the operating system works, and then click Next.

The restore point should be a date that precedes the first time you experienced the problem described in the Symptoms"" section. To select a date, use the option to choose a different restore point , and then click Next.

    4. If you are prompted for the disk to restore, select the hard disk on which the operating system is installed, and then click Next.

    5. in the confirm your restore point page, click Finish.

    6. when the restore process is complete, click restart

  • Qosmio X 870 - 13p - how to restore the original key elements?

Use the volume buttons + /-on the keyboard, I just had to push for example to increase the volume of your PC or put a song on a break. Now it does not work, I have to press the "Fn key" to use these keys.

If anyone has an idea how to restore the original key elements?

There are two options for the mode of function keys:
-special function mode (you don't need to press the FN key n)
    -standard mode of F1 - F12

Please check which option is set to your laptop.
You can find it when you open the office assist > system settings > keyboard.

Check and if necessary change the special function mode.

  • Restoration of openers program: how to restore the original program of opening such as internet explore and itunes instead of notepad ++

on my computer, I have somehow changed the settings for applications on windows 7 open with notepad ++ how to restore the original program of opening such as internet explore and itunes instead of notepad ++

I've seen this happen when opening a program via a shortcut (for example. LNK file), you are asked what type of program to open it with. After selection of Notepad ++ (or another program) via the Select a program from a list of installed programsand checking the always use the selected program to open this type of file, document or program referenced by the shortcut of origin opens in Notepad ++ as it should.

The problem is that now all shortcuts (for example. LNK files) on the desktop or in the browser will want to open Notepad ++ and use the icon of Notepad ++ to display the shortcut no matter what shortcut was originally intentioned to open. This is known as a file association and the default icon.

The good news is that a small free utility was written to cancel the. LNK file association was created. There is also a registry hack to achieve, but I recommend the utility unASSOC for its ease of use.

A utility to Unassociate Types of files in Windows 7 and Vista

Just download and then use the utility to unassociate the. LNK files. Manual is available on the web page above (the same place to get the utility). Quite simply, you run the program and wait for the list of the types of files to complete. Select. LNK in the list and then click delete the file type.

Your asscoiations of moose file will be restored.

  • Need the original BIOS for Satellite A210 - 1AO PSAELE

    Hi all!

long in vain looking for the original BIOS for my satellite A210-1AO PSAELE-03Q00FRU (Vista32bit preinstalled).

Unfortunately I've updated and laptop lost the ability to disable.
VERY noisy DWD - ROM (TS-L632H) through the BIOS (but it worked without a doubt with the original BIOS)
It is also impossible to turn it off through the Device Manager (tried several times).

I looked for BIOS anywhere where I could (Yes, I tried to download & support from Toshiba for Europe, USA, Canada, China, Russia - no. satellite A210 PSAELE BIOS in lists, even for the A200 PSAELE).

Written in support of the Russia of Toshiba - no result. the point is that I don't know bios original version for my model, so I tried BIOS version 1.1, 1.4, 1.5, 1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.3 - no result.
The latest idea is to physically remove the DVD-ROM, but it is the solution.

So where can I find that BIOS? or you recoomend a truly customer friendly toshiba can support office?
    Thanks in advance!

On the European driver Toshiba page, you will always find new versions of BIOS.
Older versions of BIOS are not downloadable, and I think that you will need to contact the ASP in your County to get this older BIOS.

How to restore the default permission settings in Vista

I had problems sharing files and went to different media pages, mainly integrated ones. I changed the user permissions and tried to add the user on the Security tab, but I must have done something wrong. 128-bit encryption seems to be lost. Maybe it's that everything that triggers this file was transformed into a "read only" file (which has happened to another file, I've tried to share). Any help will be appreciated.

  • BIOS does not detect not hard drive for laptop after the setting of the default BIOS settings.

I had my 14.04 installed Ubuntu in my laptop in a reader named «Notebook hard drive» a pre-installed Windows 8. Today I put the default BIOS settings in my phone and when I rebooted it and tried to use Ubuntu by pressing 'F9' key and choosing from the menu of the BIOS I found my 'Notbook HDD"option missing. My disk of Ubuntu is still there, but I have no way to access it. Is there a way I can get it to work?

Try turning off secure in the BIOS and then start by restarting the laptop.
