Restore to the factory via HP Support Assistant settings?

I restore my laptop HP G62-b33EE to the original because of some problems with OS settings.

It was delivered with Windows 7 Home Basic Edition but I upgraded to Ultimate and now I want to restore it since its performance is much reduced. What should I know before moving outside the create a backup? He'll ask the basic Windows 7 Home Edition key? And my key labeled on sticker will work? Please help me because I have only a limited time!

If the "HP Recovery" partition is always good, all you have to do is to start recovery from Windows using the Manager HP recovery or start of the screen by pressing 'F11' immediately after you turn on the computer and once per second thereafter, until the 'HP factory recovery"appears.

  • Cannot restore to the factory settings

I have the Acer Aspire 7741z laptop. The computer has frequent problems, and I want to restore it defaults. I've already saved important files and had planned to do a full restore to the factory settings, but the eRecovery program does not work for me. It starts the process, says that it needs to restart, check I want to replace the data on the hard drive and restarts. The problem is, it just restarts. No recovery process, no reset factory default. Alt + F10 during boot process does nothing.

I checked the partitions still exist, and I made no changes to the system since the purchase (about formats, etc.). Of course, I'm no longer under warranty period, it seems getting direct support from Acer is not going to happen.

If anyone can help? I really want to restore this laptop to its default settings.

  • HP 15 Notebook G9D64UA #ABA TS: HP Windows 8.1 randomly restarting after updating the BIOS of HP Support Assistant

Hi, I have a laptop HP Windows 8.1 and I noticed after I did the update to the BIOS of HP Support Assistant, it restarts randomly without any error message.  Is it possible to restore the BIOS if it is a BIOS problem?  The computer works fine but it restarts randomly each time than in quite awhile.

When you restart the laptop you see error messages?

You can restore the BIOS to the previous version by using the firmware management option in PC UEFI diagnostics.

Plug the AC adapter and press the power button.

Immediately, press the ESC key to call the start menu.

Now, press the F2 key to enter the diagnosis.

    Choose firmware management.

In the management of the firmware, you should see the option to restore the BIOS. Select it and let it do its job.

  • After a restore to the factory settings, where personal files are?

I recently had a problem on my laptop (gateway) that prevents Windows to boot the system.  I went through the automatic tests on splash screens.  Files were good, the disk check was good, went to a restore point, but still was not able to start.  I got a message that there was no specified "configuration change".  So I chose the option to restore factory settings.  I didn't need a disk to do - it took place without no boot disk required.  There was a message related to the restoration who said that my files could be stored on the hard drive partitioned part.  I couldn't get to my personal files anyway, so I decided to take the chance to do the restore and hope that Windows would save my stuff.  Well, Windows is running, but I can't find my files.  The page of my computer shows 2 hard drives, 'Local' and 'Recovery', but I don't know how to access recovery or if my files are still there.

Is there a chance that my stuff is still in this machine, or I'm just the GROUND?

Thanks in advance for any kind souls who can solve the riddle!

    Hello

"Recovery" partition will be the software that was used to perform the recovery to factory settings.

We should never touch except to make recovery disks, failure of hard disk for you to reinstall Vista on a new hard drive.

Windows does not save your data when you perform a restore to the factory settings.

Your recovery software factory settings is provided by the gateway.

It is an Option in their software.

It is the gateway to this topic information.

1st generation Apple TV is dead. Orange light but no screen and no resetting of distance. I tried direct connection to Mac and iTunes open and he's not here. Is it possible to restore to the factory without screen or remote workin

I guess you tried maintained low men together for about 6 seconds - silver 1 ATV that will restart to the diagnostic partition but who would rely on the hard disk is functional and if it was ok that wouldn't work with the logic board failure.

I guess you have not fed and attempted to restart.

In case your AppleTV think it is paired with another remote try Menu and left arrow for 6 seconds - the light now intervenes when you press the buttons on the remote?

Also, it could be in the video mode bad - try Menu and upward arrow together for 6 CES switch video modes, but implies that he actually started OK.

  • Satellite L350D-213 - restoration of the factory without disks

    Hello

I came to this page because the Web, so many people say you don't need a disk and many others say that you do! {Massive headaches} CONFUSED!

After last week, ending up with the UKASH virus on my computer, a friend helped and explains to go into MSCONFIG in safe mode and disable all, then I could finally get into my normal settings and do a scan to wipe it. I ran ad-aware, but later removed that he had fallen behind EVERYTHING, including IE. Then, I saved all my stuff and deleted from my computer to make room. I then did some general research and followed the instructions. "speed up my performance" followed by a few scans/clean ups and Defrags.

I don't remember what I did to remove panic and difficulty Ukash and performance thereafter, except that I know that some applications do not work, because of a name of a file I know I deleted as 'my speed' and some I do not know why they do not work.

After spending TWO WEEKS on this issue, it is better, the UKASH went, my performance is faster BUT the strange problem of a file, and I'm done with him! I want to do a factory restore to put all rights that I can and have done wrong.

My question is; Can I do a record of WITHOUT restore factory, I don't remember if I've ever had a recovery disk, but if I did, I don't have any him more as they have become lost or misplaced.

    What are my options?

My biggest fear is I'm at half way through the restoration of the factory and it prompts for a disk and I don't have. I also drive HARD recovery on my laptop on drives C and D.

(System Restore does not work for me either, I have no restore points or can I create one, so another reason why I need to do a restore of the fctory)

    Kind regards.

In your situation you should not spend a lot of time speculating on what the people are saying. In the user s manuals document described clearly how it works with the recovery image installation, creating recovery image and what your options are.

In my opinion the best solution for virus affected system is new and clean install of the OS. It's certainly more radical solution but, I think of easier and faster way to have own OS again. The first step is the backup of the data, if possible and recovery image installation (factory settings).

Recovery image can be installed on two ways:
1 as described on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm HARD drive recovery facility
2 with recovery disk created recovery image installation

I presume you didn't create this disk so that you can do now is to order on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

In any case, try it please with option 1 and send feedback.

  • DV7-4073nr - fingerprint reader does not work after the upgrade to HP Support Assistant

    Hello

I have a problem right now. The HP support assistant suggested that I had to upgrade the software of fingerprints to be upgraded and I did it without delay. Restart, the drive does not work. Windows 7 says it's a bad data. no password HP does. What should I do?

Turn the computer off, and then once you turn on, keep the F8 key several times to load the "Windows Advanced startup options" screen. In this screen either select mode safety/Safe mode with networking and log in to your user account by entering the password manually.

Once that is done, do a restore of the system through the control panel and restore your computer to an earlier date, whenever it was working fine. Once the restore process is done, change the settings for HP Support Assistant auto do not install updates

Any help would be appreciated... Gateway is only interested to collect money.  They have no interest in serving the poor suckers who buy their products (computer is 2 years old so it is out of warranty).

    Thanks for the reply.

Fortunately, I solved the problem myself (after 19 hours of stress).
The problem is that the recent hard disk has something different that no longer ages and makes pre-service pack 1 (SP1 solves the problem) versions of Windows 7 incompatible. My set of recovery disks have been created the day I bought the computer, which had no windows updates installed at the time.

There is an "easy solution" on the Microsoft support site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2466753/en-us

Unfortunately, their method works only if you have a Windows 7 installation disc, which does most of the people who buy computers pre-built manufacturers. Essentially, the solution is to install SP1 from a disc when don't give you the possibility to load drivers during installation, an option that the gateway recovery disks.

So I thought that, theoretically, if I use my recovery discs to get a clean install on a hard drive that works, then use windows update to get updated (or at least to get SP1), and then make a set of NEW recovery disks (using windows backup: start > all programs > maintenance > Backup and Restore), I should be able to use these discs to install the new hard disk.

    It worked.

So for someone else who has this same problem with new hard disks, I hope that the above is easy to understand. If not, ask someone else more savvy and show them this thread. Do not forget that at the end to create new recovery disks, it will ask you if you also want to create a 'system' repair disc. DO THIS! This is the disk that you need to start from when you are ready to install.

Also: If your new hard drive is bigger than the one that you have created the new recovery disks, the partition on your new hard drive (once everything is installed) will be the same size as the one that you have created the records on. You will need to use a kind of editor of score for re - size. I recommend Gnome Partition Editor. http://www.gparted.org

Burn gparted Live CD and him, resize your partition, and you're done (google for more in-depth instructions).

Thank you, theloungelizardK, for the offer on the ISO, but I don't need. :)

  • Restoration of the factory without display PC portable HP G72-250US

I have a broken screen on my laptop that I can't afford to replace, and I need to do a hard factory restore.  I operate my computer through an external display, but without being able to see splash screens, I can't enter the appropriate commands to perform a factory restore.  I can do a restore of the system very well, but I have no point of restoration that are old enough to be viable.  How can I restore to factory with an external display?

If you can load the deskttop, then you should make the image recovery factory inside the Windows operating system. Until you replace the LCD screen, your options are very limited. You can try to hit the F4 key.

In research all programs and files box type recovery, and then press the Enter key. Who should call the Recovery Manager.

  • Restoration of the factory without recovery disks

    Hello

I bought a new laptop Sony Vaio VGN-AR870 in June 2008 and I enjoyed it a bit. It seems to me have succeeded to it bogged down and it works more slowly and more slowly and for a long time and I have remember how it is used to run when I bought it first of all I would like to restore it to factory settings and to give it another go, so to speak. I don't have recovery discs and I did everything when I got the laptop. How best should I go to this topic? My system restores are all set points in recent months, it is a step to go. Could I use a friends vista windows recovery disc and just manually install the drivers from the Vaio esupport site?

    Thanks for reading,

I had an old set of model V from Sony. Backstage staff showed me by pressing F10 continuously when you start will bring you to an option of restore factore. But keep in mind that he wiped out all of your memory.

I used to do once every two months and it has worked like a charm.

  • Windows Update does not not since the restoration of the factory - windows 7 64 bit

Samsung s3520 - 5 recovery solutions, since the factory restore cannot install windows updates.  Tried various motions in the forums and 'fix' does not work.  Now try another restore factory but would be happy to hear any suggestions as to why this is happening because I'm unable to effectively use the laptop if I'm unable to install the updates of windows.  Help!

You have to take care when downloading updates. You have 5 years updated and hundreds of updates of all shapes and sizes. You'd be more likely to succeed if you download batch. If you download too many at once, you can easily find an update leads to failure. You can then a lot of wrong to identify the problematic update.

You would also have a more reliable and faster internet connection if you are using an ethernet cable, rather than a wireless connection to the router. Also, your computer must be connected to a power supply. Do not perform large downloads when the computer is dependent on only the battery for power.

An ethernet cable is an expensive purchase.

    Hello

    Try the following

Firstly, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant using Microsoft 'Fixit' at the following link: this is particularly useful for correcting problems that may prevent resettlement on the machines running a 64 bit OS.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

When this has completed, restart the laptop.

Then download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant of the page on the link below - the download links are to the bottom of the page.

    http://h18021.www1.HP.com/helpandsupport/HP-support-Assistant.html

After installation, restart the computer again.
