  I have a laptop Toshiba L300. I want to reset the laptop to factory default settings.

  The reason is that whenever I use the browser firefox internet and explore when I do a search using the search engine, and when all the search results are listed and I click on a particular site, it takes me to a page at random.   Yes, I think reset factory settings would be best choice for this issue. You can use the recovery disk or recovery disk Toshiba feature.

  Hello colleagues-Firefox users.

  I followed the Commission indicated in the Support article on the slow, crash, etc. by restoring Firefox to its default settings. But the problems go away. The remains of the slow browser and still gives me error messages on a non-compliant script or plugin and crashes. To make matters worse I don't see the menu on the top tool bar items, I was so used to using, such as file, editing, display, etc.. I very often used the display menu to zoom on texts that are too small for me to read. Now I can not do. I tried to drag icons in the menu on the upper right of the page on the top tool bar above the address bar, but it is not the same thing as what I used to use before, and there is no File, Edit, View, tools in the menu icons. So now I see my g-mail Inbox in tiny little characters. I tried to use the Magnifier suggested in the troubleshooting of support page, but it's too heavy so I gave up.

  If the zoom is your problem so just try to use the keyboard.
  Hold down the control (Ctrl) key + "+" to zoom in any window.
  Otherwise if the crash occurs suddenly so just try to uninstall and reinstall Firefox with the update. You brought a lot of changes manually, it might create problem. So reinstall once and check whether it is at your service.

  Click the Start button and click Control Panel.

  Click on programs and features or uninstall a program.

  On the top left click on Turn off, or the windows features

  Uncheck the box of media with the boot when you are prompted,

  Restart and again, check the box of the media and the boot again.

  Open wmp. You should be prompted to choose wmp as your default program, file types RPF, he can open.

  Hi Chris,

  Whether you use the Partition recovery or your recovery discs, both will delete all custom partitions that you may have created.  A better option to allow you to recover the operating system and any custom partition you created would be to use a disk imaging software.

  Additionally, make sure that you have created your recovery disks, as Re-partitioning the HARD disk can sometimes affect the function of the recovery Partition.

  OK, so I have an Acer computer that came pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. And it's now Service Pack 1. I have Mcafee anti-virus and when I try to click on real-time or firewall, they turn themselves back off. Now, this may have something to do with services such as the Base filtering engine because when I go it services and try to turn it on, it says "access denied." OK, well, then I tried to go to Windows Firewall and clicked on "Use recommended settings" and I get an error "firewall Windows cannot change some of your settings. 0x8007042c error code. "OK, well, maybe it has something to do with the virus, I don't know.

  I tried to contact Mcafee and they wanted me to pay for the technical support 1 year to get rid of viruses that are originally probably Mcafee (and possibly the Base filtering engine) do not work. Of course, I don't agree.

  Now, I think to try Mcafee 1 year technical support again, but of course I have to get permission from my father since it's his computer. But I don't know if it'll still be worth it. I don't know if Mcafee will be able to eliminate all the viruses, Trojans, malwares, ect. the computer and everything works again. This includes the real-time scanning, the firewall and filtering Base, homegroup, Windows, ect engine. There was one thing that I haven't mentioned. I had problems with my homegroup. Now, I was just able to get the computers to the homegroup. When you open Windows Explorer, click on homegroup, computers will be displayed. It displays the name of the computer. However, if I had to go to the other computer and check the homegroup, I wouldn't see my father on that computer. I'm not sure why this is. It could be because my dad's computer is the network 5 and the other computer is the network 15. I've tried "Set up a network connection or ' > 'Set Up a Network', but it just says:"it could take up to 90 seconds for devices not configured on your network to appear. But they never appear. So I just close.

  Now, I tried looking for solutions online, but I can't find one that fits. My only options are now either reinstall Windows 7 (and probably through a factory reset). Or, try to find out if there are any viruses, malware, trojans, etc. who are the source of the problems.

  So now I'd like to understand how to reinstall and activate Windows 7 once again, because maybe it will get rid of these viruses that are likely to spoil. Now, I have a product key from COA, it's on the computer case, but because of what is called system locked preinstallation, this product key most likely will not work when I try to enter the product key. I looked in system properties and my product ID, the 2nd block, is OEM, indicating that it is an OEM. Knowing that I will say is probably just not to enter a product key and continue. Then, after that, what is the best way to activate Windows? Windows is automatically enabled because it is an OEM or do I have to activate by phone and explain my situation?

  A factory restore is on the latter resort absolute when the problem of problems and involves a lot of work...  Perform a backup that you can count on to restore properly, hoping the factory actually works, to get back on the Internet (perhaps), reinstall all Windows Service Packs and updates, resettlement and activate all your third-party applications and then restore your backup to restore and hope it works.

  Then you should think about what you are going to do if the factory restore does not at all and you end up with a system that does not start and you have no Windows installation media - what are you going to do?

  If you delete temporary internet files, the analysis will take less time (that's to you).

  The free version does not install startup items (if you uncheck this box) so it will not interfere with other programs and if for any reason you decide you don't like it you can uninstall.

  It is generally not recommended to run several programs of AV that includes real-time protection at the same time on the same system, as they may conflict with others and cause performance issues - once again, it is up to you to decide.

  It is far too little information to understand the problem, but it sounds like something familiar, so I'll take stabbed in what, in my view, that you mean:

  Go to http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/22/reset-and-fix-broken-windows-vista-file-ext-and-type-associations-include-exe-com-sys-zip-lnk-folder-drive/ and scroll down to EXE and click or double-click it to run the program to restore EXE file associations.  Once done, do the same for LNK entry.  That should restore your programs.  If you use Windows 7, go to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html.   Discretion, security, wipe the security. You can check the box to keep the App or by email acccont or data thereon. Not some App its all or nothing. The person who you give the phone to, will have to put in place there own blackberry, I.D. on the phone App World as well, so they can start downloading the PPA and other things

• Windows Live Mail is STUCK with its default settings.

  I was on a Web page and that you wanted to contact the owner of the Web site. He had posted email address, but when I click on it I got a message saying
  "Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed."  So since I just put this computer back to factory default settings and have no other programs installed, I went on the Start button > Control Panel > default programs > set your default programs > and then finally clicked on Windows Live Mail. Initially he said he has only 1 / 4 of its default values. I meant to click on 'Choose defaults for this program' to see what a default value was chosen for her. But I clicked on "Set this program as default". I didn't want that. No big deal right?... EVIL!

I mean everyhing music library, trying to burn DVDs using Windows Live Movie Maker and get so many other windows programs to work.  I wrote here so often on various issues.
  This problem can be solved? If yes what magic trick is involved in addition to unchecking the boxes that need not be checked beings that they cannot be unchecked now?
  Fortunately, I'd say a video I took using a camcorder all the simple steps that have been taken and try to clear some check boxes.

  To specify Windows Live Mail as the default mail client, select it in the section Custom define the default settings for the access and the computer program in default programs. Then Windows will know which program to launch when he needs an e-mail client.

  When you set your default programs you tell Windows what program to use to open a particular file type or use a particular protocol. When you have selected Windows Live Mail, selected Windows such as the program to use for the four items that you selected. You can only change this marking by selecting a different program in each case, by using the cmdlet to associate any type of file or Protocol with a program under default of programs. Otherwise, Windows do not know what to do with these types of files and protocols.

  You can select Windows Mail to open the .vcf files, but unless you have a different e-mail client installed, you will not be able to associate mailto: or sendmail with other programs. the .eml files are simply text files, so you can associate them with, say, Notepad. This isn't a particularly good idea, unless you have a specific reason to do so.

  Since your initial problem was not being able to send a message using a mailto: link on a web page, I absolutely do not see why you want to change the default settings that are currently associated with Windows Live Mail. Please explain.
