Restriction of the Internet

Product: iPhone 6 s

OS: iOS 9.2.1

Question: I use the function of restrictions to prevent my children for the use of the internet on their iPhone 6s. They may also have applications 3rd party on their phone through which they can access the internet. I just recently discovered that they were able to access the internet through the following means:

Settings > privacy > advertising > advertising & privacy... > in the privacy statement, there is a direct link (www.apple.com/privacy) who send them on the Apple site through which they can access the rest of the internet.

Is it possible to limit this? Or Apple allow an update to allow the link to open in Safari?

Thank you

Have you tested this?

It spawn a browser, but I can't access anything other than the Apple site. I don't see an address bar to enter a URL. I could navigate along apple.com, but nowhere else.

How have you heard about this?

    Hello

I understand that it is possible to do so, can someone advise how?

I still want to be able to receive emails and use applications that connect to the internet, simply cannot use the browser

Self-restraint would work: don't click on the browser or open links in emails.

Hide the icon of your browser.

Do not install applications that use the Internet.

Disable email HTML formatting if you download not data belonging to the images in emails.

In other words, other than your OWN self-control, you can not use just 'part of the device' and not the other.

If you don't want to use the data for applications other than e-mail, do not install them.

    Hello

    1. You did changes to the computer before the show?
    2. What version of web browser work?

You can temporarily disable the antivirus software, and then try to install programs, and also try to open .exe files to check if that helps.

Check the link for more information.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Instructions for managing macs w ARD on the internet (no static IP address)

Please excuse me if it's asked all the time, but I searched and can not find detailed instructions for this.

I need to manage more than one Mac, on connections to the internet, the devices will not be on the static IP, they will constantly be moving around.

All the videos I have found online seem to show how to connect and manage Macs on LANs w ARD.

    Details:

    ARD v3.8

    All Mac on El Capitan

    Very appreciated for any help!

This question is not particularly related to Apple Remote Desktop; for ARD.  This is a configuration of generic firewall and networking question, so good enough instructions for your specific firewall will work here, as long as the firewall can redirect ports - port TCP 5900, in this case - or if your particular firewall has a VPN - Firewall Server average range and high-end frequently - or if you can implement a VPN server behind your firewall and configure the firewall to forward the VPN protocols (different ports) and ports necessary for the particular VPN.

In general...  I would suggest three ways...   1: set up your firewall to port before port TCP 5900 to the client target.   Maybe TCP 5988.   Or set up a VPN server in your firewall and connect to that and use ARD via a VPN.    If you want to access more than one system on the target network, you will need to either use a range of ports to forward to specific systems behind your firewall and happens to be a problem with many customers - I don't know immediately off-hand if the ARD client allows even to select different target ports - or to set up and move to a VPN.    2: creation and configuration of the VPN server in the firewall allows access to all systems on your network target - a VPN connection makes your local system as it is directly connected to the target network.  3: If you have the VPN server running on a target system and accessible through the firewall port forwarding, this target system must always be available, and all VPN traffic is routed through this system.   It is more complex and can also be a bit difficult to set up.

If you directly expose ARD ports to the Internet via port forwarding, you'll want to either restrict the available source IP ports (to reduce the magnitude of the attackers), and you'll want to be very careful about passwords on target systems.   Ports of the ARD are detected very fluent, and several people and botnets will attempt to access the system password-baited; trying to guess the users and passwords on the target system.   Once attackers have a login and a password, they will then try to spread throughout the rest of the network.  (It's part of why I prefer to use virtual private networks).

Sierra of MacOS support PPTP VPN, so I wouldn't go with any configuration of VPN that you considered it.   I'd probably use L2TP/IPsec, because the customer is generally available in most of the other operating systems, Mac OS and iOS.

There is information available on the network ports used by Apple devices.   If you enable VPN port forwarding, there are discussions on the ports and protocols required to according to VPN you use posted around the ' net and not all firewalls is particularly good to port-forwarding, the protocols and ports VPN. "  Low-end older firewalls and firewalls tend to have problems here.

To locate on the networks of the target systems, you get to use dynamic DNS from client devices or other means to identify the public IP address that is associated with the target customer.   If customers are roaming on disparate networks and not simply roaming IP addresses on their private networks (these addresses can be fixed through DHCP configurations, too) and if you don't have access to intermediate firewalls, then you will probably have to rethink the entire approach, unfortunately.    Connection to mobile systems distance arbitrary is not especially it is possible, he must do something on the client that "tags" or "ad" its network metadata to your own server from tracking client or server monitoring of some other entity (for example messages to the DNS servers used by the dynamic DNS providers), or the management connection must be initiated from the client.    ARD does not support these mechanisms.   Discussions here can get pretty complex, too--in terms of network configuration, both in terms of security for the clients and servers.

There are a few related discussions this general topic in the forums. See here, here, here, here or here.

  • How can I allow one of my children to use local applications, while temporarily blocking his access to the Internet and while allowing children to continue to access the Internet?

I have three children who have separate user accounts on our two computers. Both computers running Windows 7 Home Premium edition. We use Windows Live Family Safety on each computer to our parental controls for defining when and what each child can access. We used the period of parental control feature to block every child signed to computers, except when we allow. (It would be nice if we could block a computer and allow them to use the other.)

However, I can't find a way to allow a child to not use the computer for local activities (for example, Microsoft Word), while blocking its access to the Internet. I also want to allow his brothers to continue to use the Internet during this time.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

Windows parental control have no option to directly block access to the internet in a Windows user account, because the system needs to provide activity reports. To work around the problem, you can block all internet browsers available for this user account so that the child have no way to access the internet. Restriction of the app to access the control that installed programs on the computer children.  Here are the detailed steps to block some apps:

    1. on any computer, log on to the parent account for http://fss.live.com

    2. click Edit settings under the name of the child you want to change the settings and then click the App restrictions.

    3. check the circle next to turn on the restrictions of the app.

    4. check all programs related to access to the internet or type the application in the area of Search apps .

    5. check the box next to the application or the program once it appears in the list.

    6. click on Save.

This settings apply only to that specific user account. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

  • Restricting access to Internet WRT160N problem

    I use router WRT160n.

I used the access restriction to restrict internet access for 12-05:30 every day.

during 12-05:30 every day, when I use my laptop to access the internet by wifi, the site is blocked, and internet access is limited. This works correctly.

However, when I connect the lan from my laptop to the router and try to access the internet, I can browse the site normally. I can browse google, yahoo and all Web sites. in this case, the access restriction cannot funciton properly.

    My question is:

Why restricting access can work when I use the lan cable to connect to the router?

How do I fix this so that the router can block all access to the internet, even when I use the lan cable to connect to the router?

    Thanks for your help!

If you are using an ethernet cable, your computer uses a different MAC address and a different IP address on your local network. Basically, for the router, it looks like a completely different computer. You need to add the IP address or a MAC address restriction policy.

  • How to allow customers using my laptop to access the internet?

as an administrator of this computer how to let guests have access to the internet by using the dial-up usb modem or wireless?

I suggest that you leave the guest account disabled and create a standard user account for your guests with no password or a simple that you tell the guest needed.  Guest accounts more easily usable by hackers to access the system.  As a standard user account, it must have access to the internet unless you configired the system to restrict access to administrators or users - and I suspect you did not have that.  If the internet is not connected, you may need to do that yourself, because you can not disclose the user name and password to someone else (and if it is set to auto mode, it will use the guest account information which will be wrong). Once connected, simply use Internet Explorer without any problem.  It should work with USB modem or wireless - any network you choose to use.

    I hope thi helps.

  • Problem connecting to some websites on the internet

My son is in the training camp at Great Lakes, HE.  I keep trying to go online marine sites to get info and will not open.  For example www.bootcamp.navy.mil I could access these sites on different PC, so the problem must be just this PC.  If you could help me ill get this please.  Thank you, Patti

When you try to open this error message you get (the EXACT wording, including all codes)?

Try to add the sites you want to visit to the list of Trusted Sites.  In Internet Explorer, go to Tools / Internet Options / Security / Trusted Sites / then add the websites you want to add.  Make sure that the only use https check box is NOT checked.  It can substitute for what is blocking your access.  What security 3rd party software are you using as appropriate (program or firewall or AV security suite)?  It is possible that this software does not block the connections.  Because I don't know what it is, I don't know how to tell you how to solve this problem, but in general it is the same with IE - find the routine that controls access and grant these permissions to sites (or generally lower security level).  In IE, I use a custom security level, but the default is medium-high (new in Tools / Internet Options / Security / Internet Explorer).  You can reduce this mouse to the next level to see if it gives you go (or you can try to customize what is a better option, but a little more advanced).

If this does not work, please transfer your question in Forum Internet Explorer: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/InternetExplorer/threads where people who specialize in issues of IE as you connect to the web sites will be more than happy to help you with your problem.  If please include responses to questions here and the following steps you have already taken to try to resolve the problem so that you will get the best service.  BTW, I could access the site that you posted on my laptop without a problem - then you're right on it probably not be a problem with the web site and have something to do with the configuration of this computer's security.  I have no idea why it would limit restrictions to the marine Web sites (unless your system is not sufficiently secure and sites won't let you because of that - but I'm not sure know how to fix this because it is the opposite of what I have already suggested to solve the problem).  You should ask the experts at the Forum of Internet Explorer.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 Dell computer laptop connects to the router, but the internet connection is spotty/slow

I recently installed a new Comcast wireless gateway, which includes a built-in router.  My Ipod and Ipad work perfectly with this new router connection.  My Dell laptop, however, connects to the router without a problem, but it surfing the internet very slowly and sometimes can't access it at all.  The router connection remains strong during these periods of power failure, however.  I don't get online no problem when I connect directly to the router/modem with an Ethernet cable.  Network troubleshooting does not detect a problem, I have released/updated my IP address, and made sure I had updated drivers.  The issue still [persists.  Any input on what to try next?

    Hello Scot,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forums.

The description of the problem, I see that the Internet connection is very slow on the computer.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. We are here to help and guide you in the right direction.

Maybe there's a chance that some network settings, start services application or a third party or a security software restricted it to connect properly and is responsible for the internet connection is slow.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and see if it helps.

    Method 1

I suggest you try the procedure described in the following Microsoft Article and check if it helps.

Internet Explorer is slow? 5 things to try
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/Internet-Explorer/slow-five-tips-to-boost-performance

Warning: Reset the Internet Explorer settings can reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings.

    Method 2

If the problem persists, I suggest you to follow the steps described in the following Microsoft tutorial and see if it helps.

    Wireless and wired network problems

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/network-connection-problem-help#network-problems=Windows-7&V1H=win81tab1&V2H=win7tab1&V3H=winvistatab1&v4h=winxptab1

Why is my Internet connection so slow?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/why-Internet-connection-slow#why-Internet-connection-slow=Windows-7

    Method 3

If after performing more high question method persist, try to perform the clean boot and temporarily disable security software and then check the speed of the Internet.

Step 1: Perform the clean boot

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135/en-us

Note: See "How to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting" to reset the computer to start as usual after a repair.

Step 2: Temporarily disable security software.

    Disable the antivirus

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attack.

    Method 4

Since then, the issue is not resolved by disabling the security software, Windows Firewall could be the next possibility. So, I suggest, temporarily, disable the Windows Firewall and check if the problem persists.

    Refer to the following steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + R, type firewall.cpl , and press ENTER.
    2. Click turn Windows Firewall on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. Click turn off (not recommended) Windows Firewall under each network location that you want to stop trying to protect, and then click OK.

    Caution:

You should not turn off Windows Firewall unless you have another firewall is enabled. Turning off Windows Firewall may make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers. You must reactivate as soon as you have completed troubleshooting.

For more details, you can see the article mentioned below.

    Enable or disable Windows Firewall

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

    Kind regards

  • Access restricted without the split tunneling

I'm disabled with Split tunneling VPN concentrator. Split tunneling has been disabled to carry the internet traffic of vpn clients via our internal web filtering server. But I must restrict access to my internal servers. How can I do that. I tried with filters/Rules but his does not work, and depending on the traffic of documents filter applies only to the traffic unencrypted.

    Thank you

    Avil

If you use a VPN3000 while you can apply a filter to the users configured in group. This filter can restrict access to the servers as a list of specific protocols and access. This filter certainly applies to ENCRYPTED traffic, do not know what you are referring to your last sentence.

You must first define the rules to define the traffic you want to restrict address., see here for more details:

    http://www.Cisco.com/univercd/CC/TD/doc/product/VPN/vpn3000/4_1/config/polmgt.htm#1321359

Define a filter, then add the rules you just set it to him:

    http://www.Cisco.com/univercd/CC/TD/doc/product/VPN/vpn3000/4_1/config/polmgt.htm#1007037

Thne go under the group that these users are configured with, and then apply the filter to it.

A couple of sample filter are the following:

Allow access to 10.1.1.2 and block everything else:

To block access to everything, but 10.10.1.2, create a rule that is Inbound/Forward, Source of Anything, Destination of 10.1.1.2/0.0.0.0. Create another rule, it can be left at the default value which is incoming, drop, no matter what Source Dest what whatsoever. Create a filter with the default action of the front and add two new your rules, ensuring that rule that allows access to the host 10.1.12 is above the default rule which will pass everything else.

Block access to 10.1.1.2, and leave all the rest:

To allow access to everything except 10.10.1.2, create a rule that said, drop, no matter what Source and Destination of 10.10.1.2/0.0.0.0. Add a filter that has a default action is to send, add the rule to the filter.

    Notes:

-You can allow or block access to subnets simply by changing your address/mask to something like combination: 10.1.1.0/0.0.0.255
