retrieve the missing dll files in Vista

After starting, I get the messsage App Data\Roaming\new not found next.me\nengine.dll. As a result, the system blocks whenever it accesses a new screen after an early upward. How to restore this software? I have a recovery disc I made when I bought the PC in 2007, but no instructions on how to use it.

I now run malwarebytes and hitman. The results were not going as I was expecting from your instructions, but maybe it's because I tried malware a month ago but was reluctant to use without a recommendation. As a result, that my trial period has expired but he stll allowed me to do a full scan.

Malwarebytes reported 524 detected objects, but did not provide that they be withdrawn instead, it offered hibernation (maybe not the correct term) I chose to accept.

Hitman has identified 1 threat and 1 highjacker. and 67 pieces of malicious software. It also identified that a file does not exist - AppData\Roaming\Dropbox\-exe. It looked a lot like the file which has been identified as being absent whenever I logged on. He offered a repair option. I took the option to repair the file and remove malware.

I rebooted (twice) and the message that the dll file is not found no longer appears.

On this basis, I am happy to record a success and thank you for your help, expertise and patience.

It leaves me with a problem of what to do about the future with regard to protection against malware. It seems to me that my current anti-virus software is not fit for purpose. I am drawn to using malwarebytes and hitman, but I intend to completely change my COMPUTER (hardware and operating system) resources when my course ends in September, I won't take any short term decisions of others to pay attention to everything I do and what I have access.

So thanks a lot for your help.

If I bought a used computer, no matter who previously owned the
first thing I could do with it would be to reinstall the operating
system itself. You don't know how the computer has been maintained,
which has been improperly installed, what's missing, what virus and
There may be spyware, etc. I would not live with someone
other errors and problems, possibility of kiddy p0rn, etc. and I
would not recommend anyone else to do.

    Hey Chellse

one of the worst things you can do for your computer is to use a registry cleaner

the best you can expect is that it does not damage

    Run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-click guest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

If the sfc finds issues it cannot repair consider to borrow a vista of microsoft dvd and do a repair installation upgrade

  • Windows 7 computer said that the DWM.exe could start not due the windowscodecs.dll file is missing.

    Original title: Windowscodecs.dll missing

IM using a windows machine 7 and one day, he said that the DWM.exe could start not due the windowscodecs.dll file is missing.

I don't have to go back, any system restore points

I ran the/scannow sf in command prompt and it says that the file is corrupted.

I tried to put the machine in safe mode,

I tried troubleshooting and software update

and I tried to download external software to replace the file.

It also affects the Aero theme, so my background is just a black screen!

What else can I try that actually work?

Why we just know it is a virtual machine?  Well...

Have you looked on your system here to check that the file is actually missing (of course that mine has been replaced):

I downloaded a file called on my OneDrive:

    64bitcodecs.dll (64-bit version)

The link to my a drive is:

    https://onedrive.live.com/?ID=EC673DF6F8DFEE84%212368&CID=EC673DF6F8DFEE84

You must visit my OneDrive, upload this file to a place, you can find, rename it to WindowsCodecs.dll and then copy and paste in your c:\windows\system32 folder (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive).

When you have done so, check again with Explorer that the file is really there (if it was missing before) and if everything looks good, reboot your system and see what things look like.

Where can I find them to download?

    Hello

    1. do you receive messages pop up?

    2. Once you get this message pop up?

    3. are you referring to winhlp32.dll?

    4. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

Please provide more information on this problem in order to help you best.

In the meantime, I suggest you to download and run the latest Microsoft security on your computer Scanner and check if it helps:

Note: the data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

  • Lsass.exe - Unable to locate component. This application has failed to start because the oleaut32.dll file not found

    Original title: oleaut32.dll xp

My system XP pro/sp3 does not start normally, without danger or with the original sys disk. I get a message
Isass.exe - Unable to locate component. This application has failed to start because the oleaut32.dll file not found. reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
However, I can't in the operating system to do a re-install.
    Any suggestions?

If c:\windows\system32\oleaut32.dll is missing, you will see messages like this:

Lsass.exe - Unable to locate component
This application has failed to start because the OLEAUT32.dll file not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

If the missing file is the only problem, you might have to do a reinstall to fix.

There should be a copy of Oleaut32.dll in the c:\windows\system32\dllcache folder, so if you can get in the XP Recovery Console, you can just replace it - then you are going to have to start on something to do.

Once started in the XP Recovery Console, you must enter this command at the prompt:

    Copy c:\windows\system32\dllcache\oleaut32.dll c:\windows\system32

If the file is not in the dllcache folder (it should really be), depending on your installation, this command can work:

    Copy c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386\oleaut32.dll c:\windows\system32

Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace any existing file.

I don't know what the Microsoft Support Engineer think that KB307545 or KB922371 will help you.  I think that the MSE is just throw a few things to try and some links.  You don't describe symptoms consistent with the need to use one of these methods.   I would say the MSE has never seen this problem before, made no attempt to reproduce the problem, and has no idea how to fix this.

If your CD does not start in the Recovery Console, or if you don't know what kind of CD do you have to do a CD of XP Recovery Console and boot on it (no media XP required).

    Here's how:

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

After replacing the file, remove the CD and type 'exit' to leave the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.
