Returning to a PDF file

Is it possible to return to a PDF file to a Word or page file? I made the file and it has exported in PDF form at the time, and for some reason any I did not save the Word or Pages version (I don't remember which one I typed up on). I need to update the document and it would be nice not to have to start from scratch. Thank you!

This converter PDF to Word (.docx) works well for me.

    Hi kathyv30365453,

You can convert PDF to Word using the online service ExportPDF, or Acrobat. I checked your account, and it's not like you have purchased a subscription ExportPDF. If you want to try Acrobat, we invite you to download a 30 day trial from the link that I reference above. In Acrobat, choose file > save as other > Microsoft Word > Word Document.

  • Hello! I have FF 10.0.1 and me lived an annoying bug for a while. Every time I open a PDF file, the scroll function on my computer becomes invalid and does not return until the PDF is closed.

My mouse scroll function crashes whenever a pdf file is opened.

I searched online and that you have not found a solution. I would appreciate help!

    Hi cjromano,

Have you checked to see if your PDF is updated? I would take a glance files PDF view in Firefox. There is a lot of information in there, and it lists some different add-ons PDF. I would like to try both to see if it is localized to a single.

    Hope this helps!

  • How to open a PDF file using the built-in Viewer? (Windows 8.1)

When I try to open a PDF file I have the pop-up dialogue "you have chosen to open *.pdf Firefox do with this file? And display in Firefox is not one of the options. I am sure that what is happening is that there is no dialogue, and the PDF has just opened in the integrated Viewer pdf.js. If something is wrong with my profile I guess.

I tried the instructions here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/view-pdf-files-firefox-without-downloading-them

I checked through all my extensions and you do not have open a PDF (I have uBlock, NoScript and Zotero).
    I completely uninstalled Adobe Reader.
I checked that in preferences/Applications, PDF is set to "Preview in Firefox.
I did as I went through: config and change all settings with 'pdf' on their return to their default values
But none of these things work.

Is there anything else I can try to get this working?

I think the problem I had was that some of the PDF files is served by Web sites with a "header" (I don't really know what that means) called "Content-Disposition: attachment", and when this happens, Firefox refuses to load them into the integrated PDF Viewer. (I don't know why Web sites this.)

It is very helpful, especially because Firefox gives no indication as to what is happening (why the user preference for a PDF file is not respected). I just thought that the PDF Viewer was broken and spent hours trying to fix it.

If anyone runs into this problem, there is an extension that fixes it: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/inlinedisposition/

There is a Bugzilla bug open about it: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=773942

As far as I can see, it would be trivial reflect changes the extension above in Firefox. In the bug of no claim that it would be a bad thing to do for safety reasons. But Firefox should at least present the user the ability to open the PDF file in the integrated Viewer or even more at least have explanations on why the PDF is not currently open in the Viewer, for example "this PDF file was marked for download, so for safety reasons it has not been opened in the integrated Viewer. Who would save people like me, who don't know the HTTP headers that are complicated, just think that Firefox is broken.

  • How to remove the downloaded PDF files?

I use an android phone and can access the PDFs using Firefox, I downloaded but how to remove PDF files, that I can't keep?

By default, Firefox stores downloads in your device's standard download folder. So here's what I suggest:

    (1) removal of in Firefox: menu > tools > downloads > press and hold the > delete

    (2) check the downloads app system to ensure that it has been deleted physically there as well and, if not, delete it using this application

To confirm the interaction, you could open the app downloads system first, make sure that the PDF file is there, then delete it to in Firefox and when you return to the downloads application, it should be gone.

    It works on your device?

  • PDF files now have a firefox icon

WIN XP. Have you checked the settings of binding files and pdf files are oriented toward using Adobe reader. Finished uninstalling FFox31 and icons back to Adobe. Cleaned computer and clean up the completed installation. Icons remained as pdf two reboots and then changed back to FFox icons. Everything works normally, but the icons are like FFox. Have defined FFox application options to "always ask" temporarily.
I have a second WinXP machine that has updated to 31 FFox without this problem. Strange!

Hi CMBANA. I got exactly the same problem as you, and after much research could not find an answer that worked.

But I have now solved the problem of appearing in the form of documents HTML Firefox pdf files. Maybe you can try this, and hopefully it should work for you.

First, it was not quite a Firefox problem. The solution is also in Adobe Reader itself.

    1. open Adobe Reader
    2 edit - > Preferences
    3. in the categories column, click "General".
    4. at the bottom of the page, click on the button marked «Select default PDF Handler»
5 in the dialog box, select 'Adobe Reader XI' and click 'apply '.
    6. a screen Configuration of Windows. Let him do his thing (takes a few minutes), and then restart your computer when you are prompted.

After the reboot, you should find that all your PDF documents are returned to being the Documents Adobe Acrobat and have the appropriate icon. I also noticed that in Firefox options request the option 'use Adobe Reader (default)' had appeared. Then, you can change the options of Firefox application as described in the earlier messages depending on how you want that Firefox to manage the document, for example whether to display the preview, download or open it directly with Adobe Reader.

Took a lot to sort out, but it works now. Hope it does the same for you.

  • I cannot download a .pdf file using Adobe Acrobat module 11.0.6.70. Disabling the add-on allows me to download the .pdf.

I tried to download a .pdf file and open it with Adobe 11.0.6.70 module in FF 25.0.1 and received a message that the file has been damaged and cannot be repaired. I called the Technical Support of the site, and they asked that I have try with another browser download (ugh!) and the download worked. I returned and disabled the add-on Adobe in FF and the download worked in FF also. Don't know who developed the add-on, but one who did, left a bug in the process.

    HI central_texan,

Please upgrade to the latest version of Firefox by going on the subject of Firefox from the Firefox menu. If download hangs at the last minute (just before reaching 100%), the cause may be an antivirus software that tries to parse the file and during this process the instance of Firefox crashes. It can also occur when the download is corrupted. What I want to know is in the system requirements, which means "Firefox Extended Support Release".

To resolve the issue, try disabling the analysis as follows:

    1. In the address bar, type Subject: config and press enter. The subject: config "this might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
    2. Click on I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue on the subject: config page. A list of parameters must appear
    3. Filter the list by typing in the search bar at top. Enter scanWhenDone. Now you should find the browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone preference.
    4. Double-click this preference to set the value to false.
    5. Then, try to download something and see if it still crashes.

Please reply and let us know if this helped you!

  • When I try to open a linked pdf file, Firefox asks me where I want to save it!

Firefox has never used to do this. It does with our intranet and other external sites. I don't want to save the pdf file. It's very exasperating, and if it is not resolved, I will change to another default browser.

A recent Firefox update to v 23 also causes our site Intranet https must be blocked. You must select allow. Whenever we go to a different page the same thing happens. It is hopeless and totally inapplicable. How to return to v-22?

In order to change the default reader for PDF files (allow Firefox open the PDF file instead of save locally), follow these steps:

    1. Go to Tools > Options (or Firefox > Options).
    2. In the Options window, select the Applications tab.
    3. In the Search box, type PDF. You should find Portable Document Format (PDF).
    4. On the right referring, you should find a column of Action . To select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDFs in Firefox, choose Preview in Firefox.

The report please come back shortly.

  • My office print 8600 ProPlus will not print pdf files sent from an iPad with ePrint.

My office print 8600 ProPlus will not print pdf files sent from an iPad with ePrint.  I just get an error message when I go to the HP Eprint centre.  It prints the address email of the coverage, but nothing else.  The attachment is not sure that I can see.  I tried to send an attachment from my Mac and worked well.

Thank you for your response and I am sorry for the delay to return to you.  I tried save the Pages document in a Word document and send it to the printer using ePrint but it is even.  That is to say the handout printed but not the attachment.  However, when we removed the accompanying document and sent the attachment in its own it has worked well for we have managed to solve the problem. Thank you very much.

  • C5580 does not print pdf files

My HP Photosmart C5580 all-in-one print and copy perfectly except for PDF files.  When you try to print the PDF files, whether on the web or on my hard drive, a blank sheet of paper is passed through the printer and I get an error message saying there is a paper jam.  However, there is no paper jam.  I contacted HP support twice by phone.  Every time they say they'll call me in 1 hour with the solution, but they do not return calls.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the program, and now the printer works perfectly.  Hope this helps someone else in the future.

  • Search for content in pdf files stopped working after the migration of Windows 2008 Indexing Service

    Hello

We have designed a search custom as an aspx page that uses the Indexing Service to search for content in a set a which coexist document types (doc, pdf, xls, etc.)

We moved to a Windows Server 2003 Indexing Service to Windows 2008 and since the Indexing Service has stopped the search pdf files. The search returns only another type of pdf files.

On the new server where the Indexing Service, I installed Adobe PDF iFilter 11 for 64-bit platform, I think it's the plugin the Indexing Service uses to find the content of pdf files.

Does anyone got the Search Indexing Service content in PDFs on Windows 2008 server?

    Thank you

  • Windows Search returns "cannot access the file ' res:...» »

Lately, whenever I use Windows Search, then click on a file that was returned in the results box, I get a weird error message that begins: Windows Search.  Cannot access file ' res:... "and so on.  Sometimes it opens then the file I want; other times, it opens a file that has nothing to do with my research.

In my situation, on two computers, I checked with Windows XP, this seems to happen when I click on an Adobe. PDF file in Windows search results. The exact message is:

Unable to access file ' res://ieframe.dll/navcancl.htm# [path to file]-.pdf [file] "."

The Windows Search Preview pane does not display the contents of the file, but the file opens successfully in Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat. It comes with a simple click on the file, not a double click.

  • PDF file size

I have a HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z (network) that I use at home to scan to a PDF file, and I know exactly how to move the cursor from the 'Smaller' in 'best quality '.

However, the size of PDF files are far too large when the picture quality is acceptable, and if I move the cursor to reduce the size of the image would become unacceptable.  It is impossible to scan a legal document of more than a few readable pages without producing a volume of file too large for email.  I have to divide these scanned documents into pieces of 3-4 page.

A simple disclosure form HOA, to 220 DPI and the cursor in the middle of balance, a page produces a PDF 699ko.  I used the other scanners printer to work (different brands) to the same 200 DPI which translates documents very clear less than 100 K per page.

In my view, that there is something wrong with the algorithm of scan-to-PDF of HP.  The problem must be due to a qualified (or defective) software design.  That you need HP or third-party developer (and developer staff supervision) take this seriously - compare HP vs other scanners brand PDF files - and update the drivers from HP for this problem?

Thanks for the reply.  My problem was scanning and sending 10 or more pages of legal documents, that came out of the scanner to approximately 700 KB per page with the last parameters of previous compromise.  The 10-page document has been an unacceptable 7Mo.

However, after posting the problem I went on a process of trial and error throrough with 200 vs 300 dpi, 0 to 100% increments of cursor, and p.c. / color / gray.  I got an acceptable 200 KB per page by using the grayscale 200 dpi and weight 90% - 10% for smaller size.  I have my paper of 10 pages to an acceptable 2 MB.

But I have always problems with contracts of 30-50 page where each page must be initialled by four parties, scanning and return back several times.

    Kind regards.
