  I installed Windows 8.

  It looks and runs great and I think that will be a great success.

  My first surprise is when I open a PDF file. By default, Windows 8 reads all PDFs with a pdf reader applicattion windows. This means that if a pdf containing Rich Media elements is open nothing will happen. You see a "flat" pdf document.

  I think some code to alert the user that Adobe Reader is required to see the Rich Media elements.

  Any ideas?

  The best way to ensure that a PDF file is opened in the reader is to use JavaScript (or more precisely, use the lack of it).

  In case you have not yet resolved, this should help:

  1. Open the 'Control Panel'.
  2. Open "Folder Options".
  3. Select the tab 'display '.
  4. Select 'display the hidden files and folders '.
  5. Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files".
  6. In the warning message you receive, click 'yes '.
  7. Click on 'OK '.
  8. Close the control panel
  9. Navigate to that folder in my computer: c: documents and Users.Windows users.   There is a folder called DRM.
  10. Right-click on the DRM folder and rename it DRM.old.
  11. Close this window and open the OverDrive Media Console software.
  12. Go to tools > Windows Media Player Security upgrade.
  13. Once the WMP security upgrade has been done, download audio book title again.
  14. Optional: return to the display of the Control Panel - folder Options - and restore your folder view options to their original state.

  I want to send to someone living in Italy, a PDF with Flash Player, video MP4 and my annotations files audio all housed in a single PDF file, it can display correctly with a free Acrobat Reader software. In other words, I don't want to send a PDF links to external MP4 files and relies on whether or not it has a FLASH player installed on their computer.

  I use Acrobat X Pro and I find it very useful if someone can point me to a link that explains the creation of autonomous multimedia PDF file. Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Acrobat Pro 10 to reach what I'm trying to accomplish?

  You can integrate media into PDF file (it's the only option anyway if you're incorporating local files), but there is no way around the need for Flash Player must be installed.

  It's weird! There is no difference in functionality between the trial version and what you get if you purchase Acrobat. They are one and the same.

  Maybe it's that you have created a form of EchoSign (now called DC eSign Services). When you are in form editing mode, click more > Options > return to the Acrobat form.

  (b) click on the file-> tools-> Options-> tab security->

  Sorry, but you need to use your original Roxio media and license key installation.  If you do not have these because the Roxio program was preinstalled on your computer when you bought it, it is possible remotely your computer manufacturer may be able to help, but I doubt it.

  Depending on what features you want to be able to do, you may be able to find free apps by using your favorite search engine.  The alternative is to buy a new Roxio or one of its competitors (for example, Nero).  If you phone Roxio and are convincing enough, they might allow you to buy at the upgrade price, but yet again, I doubt it.
