RN102 ran out of space, restarted unit and is still rising. Help!

My RN102 ran out of place today so I released about 400 GB. DF h confirmed that I released the space but I was always getting no space left on the device errors. Btrfs showed this:

Btrfs fi df/data
Single data: total = 3.62TiB, used = 3.62TiB

Not knowing that do, I decided to reboot my device, it has been about an hour now and it's still not up to respond to pings. What should I do?

Well, it took waaay longer than usuall but my NAS is back up now and everything seems fine.

  • Time Machine don't prune the old El Capitan backups and works out of space and "backup fails.

With the help of El Capitan 10.11.1, I noticed a change in behavior with the handling of the time Machine of large files, specifically the files of virtual disk VMWare Fusion (about 50 large concerts).  After a few weeks of use of fusion VM virtual machine, Time Machine gives an error where it ran out of space and "backup failed."

I had the same problem occur on a second iMac that I own.

I reformatted my external drive for Time Machine and started fresh, but after a few weeks, I got the same error again.  It seems that Time Machine is not the size or remove older backups of VMware virtual disk to provide a space for the new.

Previous versions of Mac OS X and Time Machine had no problem with the backup of large files such as these.

Has anyone else noticed "backup failed" message with Time Machine on El Capitan?  I know that I can exclude the disk virtual VMware backup, but that defeats the entire purpose of Time Machine backups.  Any suggestions?

Time Machine automatically deletes older snapshots to make room for the new. If your backup history is shorter than expected, it may be because you want to save one or more large files frequently.

Software virtualization VMware, Parallels or VirtualBox creates a large virtual disk container that is constantly evolving. It will not be saved at all while the virtual machine running, and at other times it must be saved each Time Machine performance. Who fills up quickly any backup destination.

You must exclude files from virtual drive of your Time Machine backups. To do this, click the Options button in the Time Machine preferences window. You can also do this to virtualization, application settings. Back up the files on the virtual disk within the comments system, using a native backup application.

A compromise solution is to create a 'snapshot' of the virtual machine in the virtualization software (not a Time Machine snapshot.) This will give you a single large file that never changes and only has to be saved once. All future changes will be stored in a file that is much smaller initially, but will grow over time. You must always exclude this backup TM file. If you need to restore the computer virtual of Time Machine, you will have a working configuration, which will be easy for you to restore the rest of the data in the system of comments.

  • Creative cloud says I am out of space, even after deleting all files from archive

So earlier today, I ran out of space in the creative clouds. I went to archive and deleted all files (archives are now totally empty).

I have some files left in the Cloud, but they occupy only 3.18 GB. In any case, the cloud always said I used 100% of my storage space of 20 GB and I get the "out of storage" error message when you try to synchronize new files!

    Hey,.

So I was legitimately deal with this, but I thought about it.

Apparently, anything you download is checked and it does not show in your desktop folder.

If you connect to your cloud to Adobe online, you can go to 'Archived' under 'Files' and delete everything again.

I don't know if you can disable archiving, but it does not work. I was able to download a * after hours of not being able to file.

    I hope this helps!

This morning, the virtual machine has been closed and it won't start.

I get an error "could not open the disk < the VMDK file name > or one of the snapshot disks it depends on.»

I've made room on the host drive now, but still, the virtual machine does not boo.t

I ran vmware - vdiskmanager.exe - R on the vmdk file, but it was impossible to fix.

    I have a few questions:

    1. are there in all cases to repair the virtual machine?

    2. can I go back to the virtual machine to a previous snapshot and apply my backups to be updated?

    3. should I give up the virtual machine and start over? Not pretty, but I can do it.

The host is Windows Vista Business 64.

Any help or pointers would be great.

    Thank you

In the files in the folder, it seems that your VM was left in a suspended state that now may cause a problem.

What I would say to do is:

    • Close VMware Workstation or at least the virtual machine to ensure that the files are not in use
    • Edit the vmx file and set ide0:0.fileName = XP_Pro_Test-0-cl2 - 000017.vmdk (already mentioned by Ulli)
    • Delete the following files:
      all the .lck files folders
      VMware-vmx - 904.dmp
      XP_FedComp.vmem
      XP_FedComp.VMSs
      XP_FedComp - Snapshot19.vmsn
      XP_FedComp - Snapshot19.vmem
    • Replace the file vmsd by one attached to this post

If the virtual machine still does not start, you may need to remove the "XP_FedComp - Snapshot18.vmsn" or "XP_FedComp - Snapshot18.vmem" also. However before you do this, attach the last file vmware.log for us to see exactly what is happening.

Ounces, that everything is working again, I suggest that you remove some of the snapshots. In VMware products, instantanes snapshots are used in a string your VM which means all THE files are in use and with the number of snapshots, you have, most likely will be much more slowly he could really.

Since the installation of El Capitan, my streaming to my Audioengine DAC D2 cut after 12 minutes (the default duration of sleep). It will restart by pressing the space bar. When I change the duration of sleep, the cut outs are becoming more frequent and intermittent. Help?

I checked the wifi and changed frequency (new modem, frequency change made no difference). The Board battery seems fine - all updates well. My computer is an iMac (2011), 3.1 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, with a new AMD Radeon graphics card. I recently installed a State strong 1 TB SATA drive and fitted with a LaCie Porsche 4 to USB for backup and a 4TB disk storage RAID LaCie drive.

I'm frustrated, having to come in my computer since my living room every 12 minutes to continue to listen to Spotify on my stereo system.

My guess is there a bug in the software of sleep in El Capitan, which disrupts his (I've tried different USB ports connect the Audioengine sender and same thing).

Should I go back to Yosemite?

Can I disable the download of photo sharing but allow for photo streams to make this or how can I make this happen? I just want to still my photos go to my Mac and iCloud so I can have my photos without danger...

    N °

iCloud is a synchronization service, NOT off of storage of the unit.

You could cut the phone out of sync from your library. Just move them to your Mac and synchronize your Mac with iCloud. Now, you'll have plenty of space on your phone, but no pictures.

From your Mac, you can then make an album with photos that you want to access from your phone. This will require ongoing work, but will keep your clear phone in most of the time.

    Hi Shannon,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers community.

This is because the computer was arrested while playing game. The game files might have been corrupted.

Method 1: The restore of the system on your computer.

System Restore will take your computer state permeable when it did not face such a problem, this can be done by selecting the correct restore point.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.
    3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
    4. click on finish.

    For more information visit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212/

Method 2: If the same problem then I suggest to uninstall and reinstall the game and check.

    Hope this information is useful.
Let me know if it worked.

You say that a "report" is 30 GB?  Or a folder containing files?

Maybe overkill - but unless you have less than 1 GB of memory (live RAM) of the system, the upgrade of memory was probably exaggerated too with WIndows XP.  ;-)

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

  • I deleted my pictures and videos to free up space on my iPhone 6, but the settings and iTunes still say that I've not left storage. Help, please.

    Hello

I have an iPhone 6 and uses iOS 9.3.2,and I recently deleted all my pictures and videos to free up space, "Manage the storage" in still however said circles I 23.4 GB of photos/videos like iTunes when I connect my iPhone to my Mac. I deleted my recently deleted folder and follow the instructions of a guy showing a year, which suggests to set my phone date about two years back and deleting the photos recently deleted the file and both of these solutions do not work. I have reset my phone (home and power button operation / stop) and also, it does not work. I don't want to wipe my phone and restore it if possible, but it's the only option I can think of next.

Are there other solutions before I try this?

    Thanks in advnace

    Ben

    Hey Ben,

Thanks for stopping by the communities Support from Apple! Looks like you are trying to free up space on your iPhone by deleting all the photos and videos, and you still see 23.4 GB absorbed by these files. You have already made sure to empty your recently deleted album, fix the date of return on your phone and performed a hard reset on your device. You did an excellent job so far, and I'll be happy to give you some ideas to move forward from here.

Before diving into other troubleshooting procedures, it would be useful to ensure that you have a recent backup of your iPhone is available. This will help us ensure that all your important data is stored safely for you. Here is an article with information on how to backup your device:

The backup of your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Once it is in place, I recommend you to reset the settings on your phone. This is not the impact of your personal data, but you will have to perhaps adjust the user specific settings, but also re - enter passwords and Wi - Fi networks. To complete this step, go to settings > general > reset > reset all settings. When you restart your phone, check if the local storage on your phone has updated to reflect the changes you did related to your photos and videos.

Beyond that, you want to look at your phone erase and reset to the factory settings. It is possible that some kind of software corruption causes the divergence of storage that you are experiencing. Set up your phone as a new device via iTunes install a new copy of iOS and also to exclude the corrupted files, etc. in your user data. This is a resource for this process:

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings

For later use, it may be useful to use iCloud photo library to transfer and store your photos. There is a feature that allows you to optimize the storage on your iPhone so that your photos and your videos do not have as much local storage space. You receive the error "your computer is running out of memory" message when you start Flight Simulator:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/892610

When you start Microsoft Flight Simulator, you receive the following error message:

Your computer is running out of available memory. Flight Simulator will now exit. You can't have enough free space on your hard drive. Run Disk Cleanup to free up space, and then try to run Flight Simulator.

Method 1: Space available hard drive

    1. Click Startand then click my computer.
    2. Right click on the hard disk where Flight Simulator is installed, and then click Properties.

Note Flight Simulator is usually installed on the C drive.

    3. Make sure that the amount of free space is more than 500 megabytes (MB).

Note the 500 MB space available disc is required to play Flight Simulator. 1 gigabyte (GB) of available disk space is recommended. If you do not have at least 500 MB of available hard disk space, you must delete or remove some files or programs on the hard disk.
