• Unable to capture video with the Canon Vixia HV40 HDV - why?

  I am unable to capture video HDV via Firewire to my Cannon Vixia HV40. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on a computer HP DV6T Quad Edition laptop, using the native Firewire interface. I can capture DV standard definition without problem (when the unit is set to DV mode, Windows detects the device and the guests of action - if you select HDV mode, Windows does not, and the camera does not appear in Device Manager).

  So far, I tried to capture HDV in Sony Vegas, Windows Live Movie Maker, Cyberlink PowerDirector 7 and finally HDVSplit (considered as the common denominator of simpler, the lowest for the capture) without success. NOTE: the camera IS recognized in HDV mode. In all the above applications, I can go back, play and fast forward - there's a link that works at least at this level. When I try to capture HDV, I get different results - no success. HDVSplit starts playback on the camera and stops after 3-4 seconds, indicating that no data has been transferred from the camera. If I turn off scene detection, capture runs indefinitely, but the generated file is never more than 0KB. Director of Windows also appears to capture, but the file is still 70 KB and is not valid. Sony Vegas, same, begins the capture but never see any video. CyberLink Power Director, somehow, HDV recorded once a band - and can always record a live camera HD stream.

  I tried a lot of things:

  1 using the older driver 1394
  2 turn HD/HDV
  3 reinstall the capture software
  4 press the 'PLAY' button first, then enable "record", then the workflow is running.
  5. install the Canon software (despite the fact that it contains all drivers for camcorders) - in fact there is no driver for the Canon Vixia HV40. It is supposed to work with the Windows 7 driver. I tried both (W7 and legacy) with the same result.

  The Canon Vixia HV40 is documented as supported in Windows 7 by Microsoft and Canon - and yet there are many people on the Internet claiming to have this problem (although some people report no problems at all). I am sure that I do not see a 'Pink Elephant'. As this is a forum for Microsoft - I would be happy if I could capture in Windows Live Movie Maker - to keep the inconsistencies of the third part of the road. What should I try next? Is there a 1394 a generic driver that is certified to run on Windows 7?

  I went and hooked the camcorder new just to make sure that I can hardly believe it is now capture HDV. Perfect work. Believe me, I've tried evey solution I could find on the internet and it is the only one that worked for me. I found the solution on this forum and started to find only no sooner. I've only used it with Pinnacle Studio 12 so far... never mind, I just tried HDV Split and it works too. I had also planned to buy a SIIG NN-EC2812-S2 and if it had been less expensive, I did not hesitate. I tried from Best Buy's Dynex Express card, but he had the camera recognition problems and sent. I thought that you get what you pay and was actually looking for the best price on the SIIG when I came across the solution. I wish you good luck.

  I've linked download these drivers and nothing works. Can someone help me please?

  Let me try and help you with the problem.

  1. you try connecting the camera for the first time on your computer?

  2. have you made sure the Firewire cable is working correctly?

  3. What is the status of the camera in Device Manager when you connect?

  To open Device Manager, press the key Windows key + X and choose Device Manager.

  In Device Manager, check if the camera is recognized.

  If the camera is not recognized, you may need to check the issue by using a different firewire cable.

  I also suggest you to run the hardware troubleshooter and check if that helps.

  1. Point to the upper right of the screen and then move the pointer of the mouse to the bottom and click on search.

  2. Enter Troubleshooting in the search box, type or click Troubleshooting, and then click hardware and sound.

  3. Click hardware and devicesand follow the instructions on the screen.

  Thank you for posting.

  You can transfer videos recorded with your HV40 to your computer by connecting the camcorder to your computer using a DV cable.  The DV cable connects to the terminal of the camcorder, then to an IEEE 1394 of the HDV/DV computer port.  Then, set the camcorder to the play mode.

  You will need to use video editing software to put the video on, treat it how you want, then save in another format of media, such as a DVD.

  I'm on first pro CS3 on Windows XP Professional.

  I have difficulty to be able to seize the tapes. Firstly this camcorder is not recognized. Sometimes no capture is possible, sometimes it captures but the capture preview pane is completely black, clips, however, appear to be correct.

  Is there a way to fix this problem?

  There is no need of a plug-in. PR has understood everything. I would upgrade to 4.1 because of closer integration and better support for HDV, XDCAM, etc. for me 4.1 at least seems more stable.

  Used head set with microphone; Koss simple mic and rode ntg - 2; went to a set of equipment and the audio preference there for creative-it doen't want to the other entry.

  The audio 1 line - best I can do is to get a small audio audio green line 1 and master. I am mode audio mixer. I went to the control panel and identified the micro as well as see the audio up/down transition. This does not, audio output / in in Prem pro. Unfortunately, I'm stuck and need help.

  Note: Have 2 t (7200) on c and other readers. I7 and 12 GB of ram.

  PS front and back jacks-same results. Music / audio from other entries OK.

  I don't have Adobe Audition but will look into it as well. Just a tip, I didn't there's an extra step that I never knew. In preferences/hardware, I needed activate the asio section which opens another box. Once I mentioned at the mic I used, no problem. The problem has been resolved by my nephew in 5 minutes. Well, you learn something new every day. Thanks for your comments.

  But I can't have internet on my Windows XP.

  Of course, it works with connection NAT but I want a bridge connection, so I can set a manual IP address to my windows XP.

  Here's how my Windows Xp is configured:

  IP address: 192.168.0.2

  Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

  Default gateway: 192.168.0.1 (this is my Windows Vista for IP configured on the NIC)

  Check which physical adapter network bridge is connected to.  I assume that your host also has an ethernet port?  Run the application 'manage virtual networks' administrator and check.  You can use this to change the connection open to use the wifi adapter.

• How do to digitally capture taped video digital camcorder when my laptop has no IEEE 1394 port.

  I have 80 digital tapes (SV) to transfer to the computer. I have a nice Canon Vixia HV40 camcorder with HDMI and IEEE 1394 out output.  My Sony Vaio laptop has only 2 USB and 3 connectors and an HDMI output.  I found an old Moviebox Pinnacle on ebay that has a USB and IEEE 1394 output.  (Hard to find)  Other than buying, please recommend a solution to transfer (capture) digitally in real time in my PRE 14 on this laptop.

  • It's Firewire input USB Out and examiner claims to have got the same results if firewire... and Setup included recognition of camera
  • The device is described for Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP, no mention of 10.

  If it worked for you to put your shots on the computer, you would take the captures in Premiere Elements with a project add Media/files and folders.

  Then... discussion I posted a few weeks ago, I have been diligently read and you are looking to buy a new camcorder.  I currently use a nice Sony handhelds Handycam, but my problem is when I put them in Premiere Elements content, I'm having some problems of quality.  Play the good DVD on their own and the content that comes from a tripod without a lot of movement is correct, but when I move the camera around pan through a scene I get nervous and video effects.  Looks like it's a result of me trying to decompress and recompress the video from the mini dvd VOB files, I'm looking at Mini-DV tape based camcorders. All my research seem to end up with the Canon VIXIA HV40.  It's a bit pricer then I had hoped, but I like the fact that is has 24 p and 30 p modes and what looks like anything decent around performance.  I read some comments suggesting that he is not the best in the dark but.

  Y at - it of you using this platform, and if so could you give me your opinion about it?  Any other ones I should consider seriousley?  I'm hoping to do this update just once or my wife kills me!  I want TO find a camera that does not require me to use the Ribbon (this seems to be a horrible step backwards away from the simplicity of flash or HARD drive memory), but I guess I'm resigned to the fact that if I want to use the first it is not a current device that works well for me unless it's mini-dv.

  Also, if it's important, my computer is a box of double-quad core Intel... new processor, 1 GB graphics card and 8 GB of ram.  I hope that's enough power to manage the creation of HD movies.

  I went through the same process of tormenting, to decide between AVCHD and HDV. I have a Quadcore Alienware and downloaded some AVCHD as a test, and even is he she handled pretty well, it was very slugish compared to HDV. I then bought a Canon XH - A1, used, B H & for about $2800. The miniDV has been a dream, and PE7 it handles very well. Take a look if you want to

  Encoding YouTube messed up some of the timings of the edit with the music, but you have a good idea of the image to 1440 x 1080i quality.

• Apple Watch, calling emergency since the update services

  I was wondering if anyone else has this problem, but since the upgrade to ios3 in my watch randomly called emergency services when I rode my bike with my jacket on.

  Obviously gloves are putting pressure on the power and set up the menu, but then the watch button connect to emergency through any way wrist movements activating.  I had understand if it was my right wrist (wrist of accelerator which is constantly moving) but it's my left which is mostly static.  And it shouldn't be activate as clothing.

  Anyone else having this problem, it's a huge problem, apple watches call emergency services at random.

  I have not encountered this problem. You can change the path of emergency sos is started by going to the app shows general, emergency sos on your iPhone and turn off hold automatic appeal. You will need to then press and hold the button side, followed by a simple touch on sos emergency. It may be a solution working, or at least temporarily?

  I read here: Record audio and create a voiceover in Premiere Pro , and watch videos, but I simply can't find info, why I can't see "settings of voice recording. My menu looks exactly the same, but witout "settings of the voice-over".

  There are two changes
  (1) I moved the first commitTransaction above this createOntologyModel API call.
  (2) I used ALLOW_QUERY_INCOMPLETE

  I am able to run the code has changed (using the latest Jena adapter).

  (1) is necessary because this call createOntologyModel will in turn call the GraphOracleSem API to graphBaseFind. However, the implication was not created. So there was a little problem of synchronization in your code.

  (2) is necessary because model.create (...) will add new triple in the graph resulting in the incomplete state. So, we have to allow this status.
