Router EA6700 + IPTV

Hello!

Is it possible to assign 2 ports in the router EA6700 for my IPTV devices?

If you speak of VLAN tagging for IPTV, the EA6700 does not support that. Take a look at the ASUS routers because they support VLAN tagging for IPTV.

Linksys Smart Wi-Fi was unable to connect to your router. This can occur if the router doesn't have Internet connectivity. Try to access the router again later, and if the issue persists, troubleshoot your router's Internet connection.

  • R7000-can not get to work with iptv

Hi, I have problems to make my r7000 working with plusnets iptv... Recently signed to it and they sent me their shitty router that feeds their iptv perfectly but I can't figure out how to get the nighthawk for this...

Current firmware 1.0.4.30. in advanced settings, there is an option allowing to the VLAN / bridge I had some success using: iptv works for a bit, but not internet traffic outside of iptv is passed to the youview box - so can't watch netflix etc. It stops also work after I have change the channel so it does not seem in any case the right fix

PlusNet cannot provide me details for tag vlan, so don't know not where to go from there... every time I have activate the Internet is not just connect - tried VLAN 10, 101, 301 and the thing that I could think of...

I read that there is an option to enable the VLAN / IPTV on some firmwares, but I don't see "enable VLAN / Bridge" on mine.
This feature is still supported on the R7000? or would be running DD - WRT work?
    I hope someone can help

And we have a solution! Flashed the CFW, a quick reboot of the router, and a bit of higgery pokery - work with enabled IPTV YouView.

Here's a note in case others run into this forum and fall into the same obstacle. These are the settings you need once you have flashed the CFW:

You must configure 'Enable VPN + connection DHCP' to 'No' to the terms of the WAN option.

    Parameters used were:

-Have the router to the latest firmware: 3.0.0.4.374.130

-Use the following settings in the LAN > IPTV:

-"Select the ISP profile" = None

'Choose the Port STB IPTV' = None

    -"Use DHCP routes" = Microsoft

-"Enable routing multicast (IGMP Proxy) = enable".

'Enable the effective transfer of multicast (IGMP Snooping) = enable ".

    -' UDB Proxy (Udpxy) = 0

I hope this proves use for others in the future and thank you for all your help.

  • Block of parental control of Linksys EA6700 when they shouldn't

    Hello.

I have the EA6700, which I think is an excellent product. I use parental controls for my 10 year old son devices (iPad, a PC and Smartphone). It has worked fine until recently when one morning he wasn't able to access the Internet at all. The only way I can grant him access is to disable parental controls for devices. I have not changed the settings on the router on this subject, so I do not know why it stopped working. The access time is the same for all three devices, which is blocked between 21 h 00 and 05:00 and then released the rest of the time.

    I hope someone can help.

    Best regards

    Jens Christian Andersen.

Try to unplug the router and insert him plugging in again.

  • Problems of configuration of IPTV, WRT1900ACS.

Hello. I have big problems getting my IPTV to work with my WRT1900ACS. I'm failry certain that it has something to do with something in the router configuration, but what and where is the question. VLAN? Port forwarding? If I go with my cable ISP directly on the uses of the socket of the TV, it works, but as soon as I go through my router, it doesn't. Everything else works, and after reading about this a little bit on the net, it seems almost obvious that I have to click or configure something in my Smart Wifi of Linksys. I'm a lot of people thought have had these problems and in the hope that they were able to solve them.

Someone has good directions on where to start? I'll also call support for IPTV, but since signals will be mainly done in the router, my guess is that they will not be able to solve. I'm really grateful for any help I can get. I had so many technical problems the last few months, I don't even start taking place with them here...

I live and the Sweden and the IPTV provider's Viasat. The box is a Samsung.

    Kind regards

    Thomas

  • EA6700 gel / disconnects randomly

    Hi all

I recently bought the Linksys EA6700, because my Linksys E1000 wifi signal did not cover the whole House. Unfortunately the EA6700 was not yet able to give me a complete coverage, probably because there are a lot of walls that the signal must pass through, so I decided to use the E1000 to extend the signal of EA6700.

All connections work properly except for an annoying bug which causes both the Wi - Fi signal and disconnects for a few seconds. I can reproduce this disconnect when I do a network scan on my Tablet google nexus. Sometimes it seems just random and at different intervals.

I also feel that it's somehow triggered by the combination of wired connections & wireless or even the number of connections I was able to watch a full movie and the hickups yesterday began when I used my Tablet nexus. This could be a coincidence of course.

No one else has encountered a similar problem with this device or in another configuration maybe?

Here are some of my current setup.

    1. ISP wireless modem is placed in the basement. I disabled the wireless signal is, so he cannot interfere with the signals of linksys. A DMZ for the EA6700 was the installation because I needed an external access to my NAS device.
    2. Wireless modem is connected to a switch in our living room that gives the signal for our digital camera to the tv and to the EA6700 router. The IP address for the router and digital tv are managed by DHCP from the ISP.
    3. The EA6700 is connected to my smart TV, home theater and media player AC Ryan and was also in our basement where another switch. The IP address of all these devices is managed by the DHCP EA6700. A DMZ on my NAS is also handled here. The wireless signal uses 11 channels & 48 as suggested on another forum. I also updated the UMT manually 1472, which was the largest packet size that he could manage. Because I had some problems to reach my NAS device remotely I temporary disabled the firewall here.
    4. The last switch in my network is connected to a NAS, my computer and router E1000.
    5. The router E1000 disabled the DHCP & NAT and used the same SSID & credentials as the EA6700 to obtain a seamless wifi signal. I also disabled the firewall here and setting up channels for the WiFi at 4 & 64, so it doesn't interfere with the signal from the EA6700.

    Hello

Since the EA6700 has a dual-band feature, you can try to create a different SSID for the band of 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz. After you have created it, observe the connection. If it's always the same problem, try to disable SimpleTap. Access your router configuration page then go to Wireless -> SimpleTap -> Turn OFF SimpleTap.

  • EA6700 Cup internet high speed two

    Hello

I just sign up for Time Warner internet Turbo, which promises speeds of up to 20MBPS down and 2 Mbps upward.  I use a Motorola SB6141 modem and a Linksys EA6700 router.

When I test the speed using Speednet or Speakeasy speed test clean of TW, my downloads are constantly between 15-16 Mbit/s so that the rock download at speeds between 5-6 Mbps.  So although the download speeds are not advertised, my download speeds half are announced.

I removed the router from the system and directly connected to the modem and tested again several times. the upload speed has remained in the range of 5-6 Mbps, while the download speed went to 33-34MBPS constantly.

    So it's the router.

I reconnected the router and tried different configurations, the most fundamental of which was connecting to fixed my computer to a single port on the back of the router without other connections and wireless off.  By download speeds back to the range of 15-16 Mbit/s.

I also replaced the Cat5 cable between the modem and the router.  No change.

    Any ideas?

Was when you did the test directly connected to the Modem via Ethernet? If it was have you done the same test connected via Ethernet to the router?

If your tests for both were made via Ethernet then my tests with Linksys hardware is probably this QOS\Prioritization or the Parental control is activated.

For wireless WMM support must be enabled.

    I recommend disabling SimpleTap.

  • What to buy... EA6500 or EA6700?

    Hello

Decided to buy one of these, but which is generally better for 2.4 and 5.0 ghz wifi (N and AC)? The EA6700 costs only £10 UK and more, but can't decide between the 2. Have ports USB 3.0 on the EA6700 is no big deal for me, for me as I will not be with them, but I understand the has EA6700 of a dual core processor and a different antenna to the EA6500 configuration... but it's better than the EA6500 for speed and wifi coverage? This review was apparently told that the two routers are identical in performance:

    Steve

If you check on the list of tested discs USB hard and printers for the EA6700, the maximum capacity is up to 3 TB only. This could mean that the USB port on the router does not support 4 TB hard drives. The link is the list of printers for the router Linksys Smart Wi - Fi, EA6700 and tested USB hard drives.

May help to adjust your browser settings. On IE10, you may need to activate the authentication of the user. Try the following steps:

    1. go on tools (the symbol of gear on the top right corner).

    2. Select Internet Options.

    3. go to the Security tab and click on the custom level button.

    4. scroll down the list and the user authentication section, select "request user name and password.

  • E4200 - Wireless die channels 2,4 / 5 GHz when I watch IPTV.

The E4200 work very well, iphone 3gs / s galaxy on channels 2,4 ghz and the Sony Vaio on the 5 GHz channel.  I have a satellite/iptv receiver connected to the E4200.  Whenever I have switch from satellite to IPTV channel, stream of the channel of the TV is fine but I lose channels wireless on the E4200, until I have restart the router.

I placed a 5 port gigabit switch between my Internet (100 MB Fast Ethernet) and the E4200 and plugged the E4200 and IPTV receiver directly in the gigabit 5 switch ports.  When I'm connected like that IPTV and E4200 wireless are fine and don't give up.

I am running the latest firmware 1.0.02 and I do not use media/usb port.

    Thanks for the link.

I replaced the switch Gigabit 5 port Netgear that I had previously suspended behind the E4200 with a Linksys SE2800 switch and it seems to be very good at the moment.   I have the pc, iptv, the nas connected to the SE2800 and the SE2800 plugged into the E4200.  IPTV and the wireless is working, no abandonment so far.

I don't know what was really going on, perhaps the netgear switch is going bad and causing problems with the E4200.  Has either been thanks for your help reloving this problem.

  • IPTV/Multicast via VPN

Currently have a requirement for our users VPN / wireless, to have the opportunity to view CNN/other via IPTV channels. We are using VPN concentrator 3030 of Cisco for our needs. This box is able to support multicast? What needs to be fact/set up to allow this works? Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    -Matt

The 3000 series concentrators VPN currently does not support multicast. Concentrators 5000 series more do as well as the PIX and VPN router. There was some talk to the 3000 series support multicast traffic in a next version, but don't hold your breath. Code of the v5 is perhaps what I mean.

    I hope this helps.

  • Tips to add a VPN router to my current network configuration

    Dear all

My apologies if the answer to this question already exists, however, I searched in many situations and none seem to match what I'm after.

I currently have an ISP modem/router in Bridge mode connected to a TC of Apple which is my wireless router, I have 2 Express airport connected to this acting as the extensors of the range.  I have a VPN service through the MyPrivate network I activate on the desired device when required and everything works fine.

What I want to do now is to be able to use my AppleTV and burning Amazon via the VPN as well so you need to add a VPN router in the configuration.  I want to finish with 2 wireless networks running together for these devices who need VPN and those who are not.  I don't want to lose the opportunity to extend the network to express it however airport.

If someone could explain to me if this is possible and if so how do I set up the network.

    Thanks in advance

    Mark

Basically you would need a device that supports VPN-passthrough and VLANS for your goals of networking. MyPrivate network, seems to be a VPN SSL, which is a user-server configuration. In other words, you install a client VPN on your Mac and you connect to the VPN network MyPrivate server to establish a VPN tunnel.

Networking two or more "separated", should be using a router that supports VLAN services. Each segment of VIRTUAL local area network, in essence, would be a separate, she either wired or wireless network or a combination of both. This would probably be the 'easiest' part for the installation program.

Now how combining the two would be the question, and I don't know what would be the best way, or even if it is possible.

    A few thoughts:

    • Use a router that supports VLANS. Create at least two VIRTUAL LAN segments. One for Apple TV & Burns, one for Internet access in general. Connect the device to VPN client host on the first segment, and configure for Internet sharing.
    • Download a dedicated VPN network application that supports hosting of third-party VPN clients, like yours. You would still need a router that supports VLAN to provided separate network segments.
    • Hire a consultant network. Let them know what you the goals of networking and ask them to offer potential solutions.
