router in 1941 with the wan, backup interface

people

I am looking to set up an interface to backup to a remote site, I have

the current configuration is a 1941 (15.1 (4) M3) with two interfaces, lan and wan

I now need to create a course of failover if the wan link fails

I am considering using a service provider VSDL who will provide me with an Ethernet port on a modem and then use PPPoE to authenticate to the ISP and get an IP etc.

I intend to use an IP SLA to create traffic and road condition in case of failure of the primary wan link dialer interface failover

traffic on the two links will be also encrypted on a l2l tunnel using IPsec profiles

I have already implemented and tested in VIRL using standard Ethernet ports but have not yet tested with an ip and PPPoE Dialer

I know what I want to do is not new, but I hope someone out there can point me to a recent guide to config or sharing their problems with a similar configuration

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this or answer

Hello

between these docs should almost get up and running that have all examples, pppoe, ip sla failover with the ACB and the nat if needed, just tweak it for your configuration

Whenever you change the modem or modem/router on a network, AirPort Extreme will be reset to the default settings and then set it up again to work properly with the new modem. For this he would be...

Turn on AirPort Extreme for a few minutes... If it is not already turned on

Hold in the reset button on the back of the AirPort Extreme for 7-8 seconds, then release it.

Allow a minute for the AirPort Extreme restart to a slow, flashing amber light status

Make sure that an Ethernet cable connects to one of the four LAN <-->Ethernet ports on the modem/router on port WAN "O" on AirPort Extreme

To start the Setup program, click the WiFi icon at the top of the screen on your Mac and are looking for a list of the new AirPort base station

Just below that, click directly on the AirPort Extreme and then follow the prompts for configuration "Wizard".

When you configure AirPort Extreme once again, you can use the same wireless network name and the same password that you used with AirPort Extreme with the 'old' modem, if you wish, or use a new wireless network name and password

  • Conflict with the L1 backup task backup ARCHIVELOG

    DB version: 11.2.0.4

    Platform: RHEL 6.3

We have a backup archivelog that starts at 22:00 and an incremental backup that starts at 23:50.

The backup archivelog usually ends at 23:00. But lately, he took more time. Sometimes, he finished only at 12:30, which is like 40minutes after the incremental backup is started. That is, backup Archivelog overlaps with the incremental backup.

One of our colleagues has proposed adding 'FILESPERSET 1' to speed up the backup archivelog. So he changed the backup archivelog script of

    BACKUP FORMAT '% s_ %%t p_ manhArc_' ARCHIVELOG ALL DELETE all THE ENTRY;

    TO

    BACKUP FILESPERSET 1 FORMAT '% s_ %%t p_ manhArc_' ARCHIVELOG ALL DELETE all THE ENTRY;

He gave the reason was that "this will prevent channels stuck with the unreachable archivelogs.

Question1. Adds 'FILESPERSET 1' really useful in this scenario?

Question2. 'FILESPERSET 1' in the archivelog script means 1 for each archivelog backup piece. Right? This means that a lot of backup in the backup media.

    The justification is not applicable.

FILESPERSET 1 would not help you here.

Each consisting of 1 ArchiveLog BackupSet would result in a very large number of BackupSets.  Your controlfile would have to create a lot more locations for BackupSets.

  • Problem with the PC Backup on the external DRIVE on the network drive home.

I made backups of my laptop wirelessly through my router to my connecting external hard drive attached to my desktop, when I used Microsoft OneCare. Since then, OneCare is being abandoned, I decided to go to the basics of Microsoft (MS). Unfortunately, Ms Essentials doesn't have the features of OneCare. I try to perform a backup using the backup and Restore Center, however, I get an error message when I put backup settings to location network - error code: 0 x 80070534, no mapping between account names and security IDS was done... the results. Is there a KB or a fix for this problem? I've looked everywhere for answers and keep looking, however, I have found no solid solution (especially scams, i.e. pc scanners and fixers of registry error). How is it that I could make a backup without problem with OneCare (that I have no more:{{class=fontblue}} {.}) Now I try to do through the Center backup and restore, the backup does not work! It makes no sense at all!  I have Windows OS: Vista Home Premium 32-bit 2 Gb RAM SP2; HARD drive external: Maxtor 3200 (320Gb) hdd personal

Thanks, I found the problem. I had to uncheck the ReadOnly property on the folder that I traced to use for my backup location on my HARD drive. In truth, the property read-only (checkbox) is not checked, it is filled (designates the system setting) with a green square in the box (on my Windows XP desktop). I'm sure that others have missed this little nuisance. It's cheating. I don't know how many times I looked at the folder that I use for my backups, forget to realize that the ReadOnly is the default setting for the file. I no longer get the error message: 0 x 80070534, no mapping between account names and security IDS was done. I can't believe it's just as simple as that! My backups work fine.

Karena, R, thank you for your time and help in any way.

  • router in 1921 with the double nat ADSL problem

I have problems with the implementation of a router in 1921 with double lines ADSL for failover. For some reason any internet traffic keeps using Dialer 1 as internet main connection, while 2 Dialer should be primary. What is the model of your Netgear router. 99.9% of the routers wireless (any brand) will be compatible with the normal WiFi configuration. I don't think that your router is on the. list of 1%.

  • Through the WAN backup controller?

I have this design to implement.

2 sites.  on the Wan, there are 3 layer communication.

Site 1 access points, I want to have the Site1 controller PDC, but also I would like the exact same APs have backup controller the controller of site 2.

I'm assuming that once I build the mobility between controller1 and controller2 tunnel, so I can go to controller1 locate access points, and under settings I can simply type the name of the other controller2 (backup-controller) located on the Wan.

    Makes sense?

In addition when you deploy HREAP APs, PSA initially find the controller, and you change their profile to the local mode HREAP, am I right?

Thank you and I would appreciate your response.

I really don't know how I missed this post! Yes, you are 100% correct! This is the correct procedure.

  • Roll forward standby database with the incremental backup, when a data file is deleted in primary education

    Hello

I'm nologging operations + deleting some files in the primary and you want to roll forward the day before using the incremental backup Yvert.

I do in particular, as the files are dropped?

I got to meet ( Doc ID 1531031.1 ) which explains how to roll forward when a data file is added.

  • How Controlfile SNA remain synchronized after moving the database with the cold backup

    Hello DBAs,

    I doubt that:

Every time you pass a cold backup database. We create a new controlfile with new locations of data/redologs etc.

And then we execute "create controlfile reuse...". noresetlogs...; "to create the controlfile.

    After that, we will open the database as > > alter database open;

    Now the question is:

We are able to open the database without clause "resetlogs.

Here, we create a new controlfile so SNA to controlfile will not be synchronized with the SCN of the datafile and redo the file.

Please let me know how the new controlfiles' SNA is synchronized with the data file and redofile and wea are able to open the database without resetlogs clause.

    Oracle: 11.2.0.4

    OS: Linux

If your cold backup also includes online redo logs, a RESETLOGS is not necessary.

The controlfile is created if it does not have a SNA, it reads the data file headers the YVERT database. For a cold backup, all the headers of data file are consistent.  (This is also the reason why a RECOVERY is not required).

  • Need help with the automatic backup feature - please!

    Hello

I recently started a flash animation and the AutoSave feature is enabled.  I got a good animation, but decided to play a little with it.  After a few moments, I decided to call one night and you exit the program ensuring NOT to save my work.  When you open this file the next time, I just found out that Flash has my file saved automatically while I was playing.  Now I have an animation worthless and have to start over again.  Is it possible to go back to an earlier backup or AutoSave at this point or I am about to do a lot of work again?

Thanks to all who can help.

As far as I know, the auto save feature is not able to track down the previous versions of the document being saved - that calls for a specified version control system. I think that Flash saves the file only if it is requested to the. There are several ways to enable or disable auto-save:

    1. in the dialog "new Document." You can choose to activate the automatic backup.
    2. In the "Properties of the Document" dialog box, you can set the check mark.

If these are true, it will not happen of any economy car. The problem may be, there is also a section called ASR. Backup and recovery is not the same when it comes to Flash, but people tend to consider the same. You set the AutoRecover feature in preferences under general.

    • Windows: Edit > Preferences: general > auto salvage
    • Mac OS: Flash Professional > preferences: general > auto salvage

Both has a default value of 10 minutes and it can confuse the user. Please see the document to make sure, that you have not disconnected ASR instead of the Auto-Save. You can do this:

    1. Go to preferences (Ctrl + U on Windows, and command + U on Mac OS) and check if the automatic recovery is set.
    2. Go to the properties of documents (Ctrl + Windows and cmd + D on Mac OS) and check if the Auto-Save is set.

The first (in preferences) is ok to have fixed. It is the second, which could have caused problems for you.

  • Problems with the Firewire Audio Interfaces

I use a Presonus Firebox for all of my recording and playback. I just bought a new pc HP with Vista64 and I had problems with my audio since then. Symptoms include random audio dropouts, crackling sounds when you scroll through the menus in my software, no noise at all from windows media, no windows generally sound player. Everything works sometimes, but inevitably fails. Once the audio is de-energized my only solution is to restart the computer, and then it still doesn't work sometimes. I don't understand. My last computer was a couple of years and built the hand. It worked perfectly with this unit until the motherboard is dead after what I bought my new HP desktop with terrible results. The main difference between my pc and this one is that I was using XP and XP64. However, I have the right drivers for the home and the computer recognizes it but I can't operate consistantly and correctly. This new HP has more power than my last, and more then enough power for my needs recording software. I would like to know, I've been recording music on PC for 8 years. Any advice would be welcome.

I am now convinced that the long nightmare is finally over. I tested my home over and over again with no failures. Record and playback midi seem to work perfectly. Here's what I did:

1 optimized my computer for audio streaming using the guide written by sweetwater.com.

2 uninstall all the drivers from Presonus and all software, including the removal of all PreSonus files on the registry using the instructions provided by the technical support of PreSonus.

3 disabled WLAN and then physically disconnected from the motherboard.

    4. my computer has two firewire ports. The front port was connected to the motherboard via a short cable. I physically unplugged the cable from the motherboard.

    5. I bought an Express(1x) PCI firewire 400 card with a Texas Instruments chipset. The exact brand is inner Pro PCI Express(1x) 4 port 1394 a. The firewire card is a power port. I plugged the power jack on the same line, connected to the DVD player. I don't know if it's important, but I'll try to document EXACTLY what I did. The firewire card requires no driver work. It came with a disc with a B.S. video editing software I was not installed.

    6. I turned on my computer and disabled the built-in firewire in Device Manager, leaving only the new active firewire card.

    7. I installed the drivers from the Firebox from the original disc supplied with my unit (v1.20.0). I had good results from these pilots in the past that may be because I use XPsp2.

    8. I have connected the combustion chamber when prompted to by the installation software.

    9. rebooted the computer with the combustion chamber connected and everything's fine.

    By the way:

The inner firewire card cost me $ 30.00

    My computer specs are:
    HP a6745f desktop
Dual core AMD 5050e 2.6 GHz
    XP sp2
    GigsRAM 4 (3.25 because I'm on XP)

If you are confused in the store on the question of whether a firewire card uses a Texas Instruments chipset. Try to get a glance at the map. You should see a chip bearing the logo of TI: the State of Texas, w / Ti. YeeeeeeeHawwwww!
