RT file IO and IO priority network

I have a Subvi that receives UDP packets and apply a time stamp to each.  The Subvi is defined on the system of execution of data acquisition (LabView RT) and high priority.  This UDP receiver puts data in a RT FIFO.

I have an another sub - VI, which sets up a TDMS file (creates and adds properties of channel etc.) which is called at the start of the acquisition.  The Subvi is the priority normal, and on the standard runtime system.  Another Subvi runs the RT FIFO in the TDMS file on the same system of execution of normal priority.

When installing TDMS VI runs for the first time, there is a significant delay in the UDP VI that causes a number of backup packages in the Protocol UDP receive buffer (which causes a flurry of timestamps that are incorrect).

What can I do to receive the Protocol UDP Subvi didn't get interrupted?  It seems that the Protocol UDP receive function itself may not run at the priority of the Sub - VI that calls it.  But I don't know why.

The other oddity is that after the first performance of received UDP Subvi, he can run again with no apparent effect on the Subvi the UDP receiver (even if it does the same thing).

Thank you

XL600

Answered my own question.  Trace RT Viewer is your friend!  I had a FGV the priority value subroutine that was blocking the high-priority UDP receive Subvi which took place to run in the same thread, but only in the first inning through the VI.  Go figure...

Note for later...  Look at these priority settings!

  • Domain network cannot activate file sharing and print?

    Hi all

I get an error message when you try to share a folder "an error has occurred. trying to share folderxxx Incorrect function ". After research I see that file and printer sharing is not enabled.

I went to control panel | Network and sharing Center. Advanced settings - sharing on the "Discovery of the network" and "File and printer sharing" I select "turn on...» "for one or the other and save changes - but neither is saved! Ebb in advanced sharing settings both return to "Turn off"... "State. (I am local and domain admin).

Windows 7 computer is joined to a domain and the firewall settings are defined mainly through Group Policy, although local settings are allowed (merged).

I would add that I can access the admin shares (c$, d$) on the computer without problem on the network so advanced in this regard firewall settings are ok.

At a loss as to why file and printer sharing will not allow?  Thank you.

I found what was wrong or the problem.

During the process of deployment of our new systems Windows 7 wipe us the rules of default outgoing firewall who do seem to not be a problem because outbound connections have been set by default to "allow". But we have learned that only when outbound rules for file sharing and printer available (enabled or not) can share news can be created.

After the creation of the joint ownership, these outbound rules can be removed and sharing still works fine to keep rules to incoming traffic.  I guess this is normal, but it is not quite make sense to me why the outbound rules are explicitly required for files and printers share when you create a share... but that is what has worked for us.

So, recently, I was on my computer of gf and noticed she had some updates, it could use his computer which included the SP1 update.  So I went through the process trying to update his computer and he has been a disaster and have had many problems and seems to have tried everything.  It has a Dell inspiron 1525 and has no CD and no key for its program of Vista.  I burned a Vista recovery disk and tried troubleshooting by using that, but have not had much luck.  When I use the Startup Repair tool there is no nothing.  So I tried to use the restore of the system with the Description of "install: Windows Vista Service Pack 1.  He had a restore point saved just before I tried to update to SP1.  Whenever I chose this method, it's but the whole process then in the end it says:

"System restore was not entirely successful.  File system and the setting of your computer have not changed. "

then he begins to list the details with the error code (0x80071AA7) and then gives me the option to close or 'Run System Restore"once again that is an endless loop, because I just end up with the same error each time.  If anyone has had this problem and bring myself through it.  I don't want to reinstall windows because it seems simply ridiculous and plus that she a lot of pictures on his computer and I want to get rid of those.

    Hello

Follow the steps and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

I suspect that your security program may be responsible for this. I would suggest you temporarily disable all security software and try the system restore.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note : Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Step 2:

As for installing updates is concerned, I you should install them after you put your computer in aclean boot State. There could be a third-party software in conflict with updates. Clean boot helps eliminate these conflicts.

Note: Restart your machine as usual by following step 7.

  • How can I use Powershell to create shortcuts "File Folder" in the section network location?

    Hello

I am trying to create a powershell batch file that will create a bunch of shortcuts to files to Sharepoint document libraries network.

To get an idea, the manual method would be to go to computer--> right click--> Add a network location

From there, I can enter the path of the URL to a Sharepoint document library and it will create a folder shortcut in this library of documents that allow people access to the library without having to go through Sharepoint to access.  So when the user clicks the shortcut, it opens an Explorer window to view and manipulate the files.

I found the script next, but it will create a shortcut 'Internet' when I put in the path instead of a shortcut of the file folder. So when the user clicks on it, it just opens the web page.  Any help would be great!  Thank you!

    [Environment]: GetFolderPath ("ApplicationData")
    $path = [Environment]: GetFolderPath("ApplicationData") + '\Microsoft\Windows\Network Shortcuts\ACL Documents.lnk.
    $comobject = new-Object - comObject WScript.Shell

#targetpath can be the UNC path or physical path to .exe
    $link.targetpath = "https://finance.domain.net/ACL/Shared%20Documents".
    $link. IconLocation = '% SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,137 '.

  • Four years and more: no network, no network, no network...

Four years and more: no network, no network, no network...

I have three Windows machines: two 7 running an XP running. I posted here and elsewhere to infinity, bought a new router (Cisco) and am not able to find even the most basic explanation for what is wrong. I am invited to a "user name" and password when I try to access the network (which, in the network and sharing Center, recognizes the other Windows 7 system).

I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT MEANS "USER NAME". I walked so systematically the computer name, or the name used to identify my primary system (on which I work to establish the network connection). Then I copy and paste the password on this computer. I then - FOR FOUR YEARS - get a big red X and a logon error.

I am middle-aged and refuses to learn all other operating systems. Microsoft holds my soul online. This isn't a screed; He is really sincere indignation that this issue is made infinitely more difficult to establish that she should NEVER have been.

Thanks in advance for any help. I don't know even why I keep longer. (Yes, I ran a few offensively childish tool called Fix - It, who said that I have problems of network...)

Oh, Tommy Stanley, please read again. I did, and the DOS prompt has three entries. The first was a Director. The second was invited. The third was my first and last name.

BUT WHEN I TRY TO LOG ON TO THE NETWORK, THE NAME OF THE COMPUTER - THAT OF MY NAME ONLY (NOT THE THIRD ENTRY THAT APPEARED ON THE PROMPT BACK - I. E., MY NAME AND SURNAME) TO POSTER. How can I get the Windows security log - on, which lists the NAME of the COMPUTER and asks for the password and eternally rejects the connection to the network, either use administrator or guest or my name and surname? I am the administrator, then why don't the Security Windows log - they say "Administrator"?

What is the meaning of your last question - the third listed name? If THIS is the name that appears on the Windows log - on, security why it doesn't appear? (Again, I have NO user account with my first and last name).

You're not * the * administrator.  Since Windows Vista, you can be * a * user administrator-level, but only with some effort would you connect as * the * administrator account.

If there is a name in this list (from the command, I have given you), it was your first and last name - which * is * a user on your computer.  You can choose to believe that or not – but it's done.

Your user name * is * of course your name and first name (Yes, user names may have spaces, etc in them.)  It will not just "appear" anywhere... When you connect remotely to this computer to another, you must type in the full username and the password to access all the actions that the user shared...  Or... NOM_ORDINATEUR\NOM_UTILISATEUR.  So, for example if your computername was "ShenansPC" and your username is "Tommy Stanley", then you would need to put the quotation marks around that and your complete username would be "Stanley ShenansPC\Shenan" (the quotes help to manage the space).  -You will manually need to know that when connecting to a share on the computer "ShenansPC" - he does not know the first time for you.

This will be particularly true for the Windows XP computer - but with the good use residential groups, not so much for between two windows 7 machines.

Another way to look at the accounts of actual users on this machine...

Press the "Windows" key and the "R" on your keyboard at the same time key to bring up the dialog box "RUN."

    Type:

    Control userpasswords2

    Click OK.

It will list users 'Users' tab (display not 'Guest' or 'Administrator' - I think that if they are not activated.)  However, it is not necessarily where I want you to look at.  At the top is another tab (Advanced) - select it and halfway and then locate and click on the button "Advanced".  Which will open the consol lusrmgr where you can select 'users' in the left column and see in the column right or middle, a list of all users on the computer.  See your full legal name here?  That's because it * is * a user.  ;-)

What do you mean 'network connection '?  You mean on the one hand you have created?  A folder that you shared or a printer?  If you try to manually map or use the browser of network card \\COMPUTERNAME\foldershare or \\COMPUTERNAME\printershare?

Also, you said residential groups.  I think you should read the following article and follow through it.  It really explains things in detail and would like to get your two machines speaking Windows 7, I think that, at the very least.

    http://www.7tutorials.com/HomeGroup-feature-how-it-works

You will probably need to reconfigure your homegroup - time two machines have the same OS and are on the same network is not because they just see and communicate without some configuration to make sure.  :-)

Now - in addition - truthfully to make things easy, I suggest the purchase and installation of some SIN (storage attached network) houses that you essentially drop into your network and then accessed from all the computers on your network (whether with or without a user name or password - what is usually to you.)  Most are fairly simple to connect and give the advantage to have a place to stuff your local computers backup, but also a central location for media files, that you want to share among everyone on your network.  Start with a simple, like the GoFlex Home Network Storage System: http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/network_storage/home-network-storage/ that would require very minimal knowledge (can you plug a cable or two and install the software?) to get there.  :-)

  • Random virtual machines after vMotion and Storage vMotion network loss

    Hi all -

I have a couple of tickets open with VMware and our supplier of SAN, EqualLogic, on this issue.  Since the configuration of our production and DMZ clusters we noticed that the virtual machines will sometimes drop network connectivity after a successful vMotion and Storage vMotion.  Sometimes, although much less frequently, virtual machines also spontaneously lose network overnight.  What happened only a few times.  The strange thing is that the other guests on the VM host are fine - they lose any network.  Actually, I can do no more than 3 computers virtual host to another, and 2 of 3 can switch correctly, so that we lose the network.  The work around?  Simply 'disconnect' from the virtual NETWORK card 'reconnect' and the virtual machine will start the return packets.  I can also switch the VM troubled return to the host State and it will find the network.  I can it reboot and re - win network.  I can re - install the virtual card completely, and she re - win network.

VMware has seen a lot of mistakes of SAN in our log files in order to update us our SAN firmware to the latest version.  That seems to have fixed that but we still have the issue.  Here are some of the specifications - all environments are virtually identical except for memory:

    Of PowerEdge R810

    NICs Broadcom 5709

    EqualLogic SAN running 5.0.5 F/W

We use frames.  ESXi is fully patched.  I haven't seen a boss or not, it is only some guest operating system that loses the network, but we are a Windows environment.

When a virtual machine loses the network, we can not:

    • Ping to it
    • Ping it
    • Ping him at the virtual machines on the same host or vSwitch
    • Ping outside our network
    • resolve DNS, etc..

I followed some KBs VMware without success, including:

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1003839
http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC & externalId = 1002811 (port security is not enabled)

-All the VMware tools have been updated to the latest version correct and corresponds to the ESXi host
-Connected to the service ESXi console, I cannot ping the VM problem by name of host or IP address, but I can ping do not affected by the issue of the OTHER virtual machines.  I can also pings the service console.
-Connected to the troubled virtual machine itself, I cannot ping other virtual machines, I can't resolve host names, I cannot ping by IP.  The machine virtual CAN ping itself by IP, but not hostname.  I cannot ping other virtual computers on the same virtual switch or network by either IP or host name.  I can't ping the vSwitch network management.
-All vSwitches are configured in the same way and the same.
-Notify the switches is set to yes
-There are a lot of available virtual ports
-We tried the E1000 and VMXNET virtual cards with no difference.
-All cards are configured to negotiate, but we tried to force individuals speeds as well as with no difference

I appreciate your help.  I have problems getting anywhere on this issue with the sellers.

    Still having the issue...

Sometimes, it might be useful to really check that all uplinks VMNIC for all VLAN does work them. Try this is to create a new portgroup on the vSwitch used by your virtual machines on the host of the first, put a test VM on the portgroup, then go into the NIC teaming policy from the new portgroup and select "Override switch command failover."

Then down vmnic all except one in unused, then only a single VMNIC is active. Then set the portgroup VLAN to a production of VLAN and try to see if we could ping some expected from the different addresses. If it works, then move VMNIC work until unused and move up to another asset. Try again, and this for all the vmnic. If it works, then you have verified that the configuration of VLANS and other settings are correct on the physical switch in the face of this host ports.

If several VLANs, repeat the process for all other productions VLAN. Then repeat on the other hosts.

While that may take some time, occurs if everything is properly configured on the physical switches. When occurs a vMotion virtual machine gets a new "Port code" and is assigned to a new outgoing VMNIC. If there is an error of configuration on one or more physical ports that might seem random, but may still happen on VLAN x on y VMNIC. Given that Port ID policy you use indeed spread randomly VMs on the vmnic these problems may be difficult to diagnose. (Make a disconnection of the VM vNIC gives the virtual machine a new port-ID, which it will move to a new outgoing VMNIC, which might seem to solve the problem.)
