  • HP Pavilion g6-2264sd: adapter replace Ralink Wi - Fi RT3290

    Hello guys,.

I recently bought a new router that supports 5 GHz to increase my internet speed. Unfortunately, my HP Pavilion laptop 2274sd g6 only supports 2, 4 GHz. is there a way to replace my network adapter so I'm able to connect at 5 GHz?

My laptop uses the Ralink RT3290 8011.11b/g/n

I already checked the service manual for supported devices, unfortunately none does support 5 GHz:

    Thanks in advance

    Hello:

The Ralink RT3290 wireless adapter is a single band wireless (2.4 GHz only) card.

Note: whenever you see a wifi adapter N with a suffix of b/g/n, it is a single band card.

Dual-band cards have a suffix ending with a/b/g/n or a/g/n.

You are right... HP offers not all cards dual band for your laptop, and if you try to install one, BIOS refuse the card and put an end to started until the wlan unsupported card is removed.

I would like to uninstall win 8 & install win 7, but said that you can't do that with certain models, the serial number on my Pavilion is [personal information deleted]
Is there a problem with this device?

    Hello:

FYI, your model is a HP Pavilion g7-2240us laptop PC.

In order to install W7 64 bit, here are my recommendations.

First of all, do your W8 recovery media set before trying to install W7.  Once you install W7, the Recovery Manager will probably no longer work, and you will be up the Creek without a paddle if you need or want to reinstall W8.

Here's a guide to how to do this.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03481733

Then, you must change some settings in the BIOS to install and continue to run W7 on your model. Please see the info on the link below on how to do it.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03736054

After W7 install, you can use all the drivers and software for this model, except the Bluetooth.

DO NOT USE ALL DOWNLOADS OF BIOS OR FIRMWARE OF THIS MODEL

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4063&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=5278311

When you install the drivers, you install these first 4 in the order that I posted the and restart after every single driver installation.

    1 Intel Chipset Installation Utility

2 Intel HD graphics driver (do not install graphics driver amd.)  Your model has only the Intel HD graphics chip)

    3 IDT Audio driver

    4 Realtek LAN driver

Your model has the Ralink WiFi card (as you know, so use this driver).

Install the Realtek card reader driver. (in storage)

Under the section of chipset, install the USB 3.0 driver and Intel management engine interface driver

Install the HP ProtectSmart hard drive protection driver (under options).

Install the software cyberlink youcam for the webcam (under media)

Install software quick launch for the Fn keys

Install the bluetooth driver and software for bluetooth.

I think that should take care of everything.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook 2247 g7: using Windows 8 - cannot connect wireless rt3290

According to the Windows Compatibility Center RALINK rt3290 wireless driver is not compatible with Windows 8, I guess that this computer has been upgraded to Windows 7 to 8.  The computer belongs to a member of the family and seems to last 6-8 weeks is therefore more able to turn on the WIFI.  After several hours to review all the options available, I went to the Windows Compatibility Center to find that the rt3290 is not compatible with the Windows 8 operating system now on this laptop.  Y at - it a bet on day of the rt3290 to make it compatible driver or another wireless driver that can be installed to allow internet access via a pilot wireless that can be downloaded or is it necessary to connect to an external wireless router to get connectivity?  I have the opportunity to use my computer to download a compatible driver to a flash drive and then upgrade or install on HP laptop.  Someone else has solved this problem with their computer compatibility to the rt3290?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello:

G7-2247us came standard with the W8.

There are W8/W8.1 drivers for this card is compatible with the W8 and W8.1.

Try this driver... it is the most recent to W8 from HP.  It is much more recent than the one on the support page of the g7-2247.

I just want an alternative WiFi & Bluetooth card installed on my laptop. I'll pay for the spare card offered.

Already visited local HP service center, but the team was not useful enough able to check the list of possible alternatives for this laptop cards.

Please help by listing the alternative maps I can have to make me check that useful with linux.

    Hello:

Here is the link to the service manual for your PC.

Chapter 3 lists the cards supported wireless.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us & dlc = in & docname = c03918427 & lc = in & product = 5440102 &

The only alternative support for you is Mediatek card that isn't better than the card Ralink because they are the same company and probably use the same bluetooth radios.

It seems that HP has deleted from the white list of BIOS that allows to lock the cards not supported wireless.

Since your model has AMD hardware, an Intel wireless card will probably not work, but I think you should be able to install a single-band Broadcom (2.4 GHz only) or double band 2.4 GHz/5.0 GHz) wireless with bluetooth on your template card and it should work perfectly.

  • Switchable Graphics (AMD Radeon HD 7670) problem in Hp Pavilion g6 2305tx-windows 8.1

    Hello

I would like to draw your kind attension to this serious problem, which I do face with AMD Mobility Radeon HD7670 driver for windows 8.1

I use Hp pavilion 2305tx g6 that has double graphics. I bought it 6 months ago and it cost about 60 grand in Bangladesh.

I was using Windows 7 and everything was fine. I could play every game I want, but after upgrade to 8.1 window, I am facing this switchable graphics problem. Device manager shows that driver was installed correctly but when I go to high performance for any game, it (game) is not responding but game can start without any problem in IE graphics Intel HD 4000 I cannot use my dedicated graphics card which I bought this laptop!

Here too, no driver to blueooth. Specifically the driver Ralink RT 3290 Bluetooth. I found the driver for this hardware, but not suitable for windows 8.1. Okey BT is not a big problem, but what about the graphics driver? What is Hp? sleep? Where the drivers updated for Windows 8.1? How long I have to wait? As I brought it BDT 60 grand I have right to ask for updated driver and I want to that they as soon as POSSIBLE.

Again, I chart AMD Radeon HD 7670 in my laptop and driver is correctly installed, but every time I spend my graphics to high performance I cann't play any game. It's because I'm not have good drivers for Windows 64-bit os 8.1.

I've been looking for this driver for months, but I don't get a updated driver for AMD mobility radeon 7670.

Please, I beg you! publish drivers for windows 8.1 updated 64-bit os.

The problem is resolved. It took 6 months but in the end I finally thought to her

    Follow the steps precisely

    1. open this Pc or workstation then go to uninstall or change a program

2 appears in the list, you can see graphics driver Intel & AMD Catalyst install manager. You must uninstall both in express mode so that no other previous parameter no longer exists.

    3. Firstly, uninstall the Intel Graphics driver. If you are asked for a restart of the pc to go for it.

    4. that the list appears, you can see AMD Catalyst install manager, right click and uninstall in express mode. Uninstall all components of AMD. Restart your PC because you will be asked.

    5. go on this Pc or my PC and then drive C. open Program Files and Program Files (x 86) the two of them, if you use the 64-bit operating system. In the search box write AMD and you find some removal files remaining them all.

    6. now your PC is free of previous records and other files. Although the right, click on sign Windows and Device Manager. You'll see graphic cards and uninstall both. This step is not necessary, but just to be sure that your PC has not previously installed drivers.

    7. open your browser and download the latest graphics driver for your PC Intel. My driver was Win64_153322. Install it. If you install it correctly you're at half way through. Restart your PC, if she needs.

8 go to the AMD web site and download the latest version of the driver. To avoid the complexity best option is to download Autodetect. Because he will choose the best suitable driver for your system. The file name is amddriverdownloader.

    9. open the amddriverdownloader file and download the driver. Download will end and it will automatically start the installation. Install it in express mode. Restart your PC because you will be asked to do.

    10. I hope your driver problems will be solved. To check it out go to Device Manager and see if the drivers are installed properly. Turn on the CCC and try to play a game of High Performance. You will see that the problem is solved.

Here's how I solved my problem of graphics from AMD. I've been suffering since I installed Windows 8.1 right after being released and today 15 Jun 14, I solved the problem. I can play any game in now high performance.

If you think that my opinion is useful to you, please share it.

If the driver above does not work, the most likely problem is the hardware revision RT3090 of the card you have is probably too old to run W10.

Only the last model rt3090 made in the last two years will take place W10.

I turned on my computer this morning, after a Windows Update and it would not connect to my wifi. Initially, he said I have been connected manually to a former network but I deleted that and tried to manually connect to my home network but no luck. I worked through all the options of troubleshooting and checked to see if the driver was updated (it was) - all of this without success.  My computer allows me to plug in an ethernet cable and the router and use the internet like that. I know it's not the router because I use the WiFi with my iPad. Here are some details:

    Product model: E4X87PA

Product name: HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11-e004au Notebook PC

Pilot: Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn wifi adapter

When I look on the driver details, it seems that it is a driver of 32system while I think, I'm running a 64-bit operating system (but I could be wrong to interpret that as I don't know much about these things).

    Can anyone help?

    Hello @HappyPaul,

I see that you are a problem with the wireless and internet access. I will try to help you with this.

As you mention this just happening and recently updated Windows, I would recommend starting with a System Restore before the problem started. There is a possibility that something for the update has problem.

If this does not help, try the following document: troubleshooting wireless network and Internet (Windows 8).

To go with the document, you can go to Device Manager > network adapters > right click on the wireless adapter > uninstall. Restart your computer, start Windows reinstalls the driver.

If when you do that, you have no success, make sure you did the step in the chapeau of this document has reset power to the router/modem. Yes, the iPad connect, but this does not mean that it is not a problem between the laptop and the router. The iPad is a completely different device, how it interacts is not the same (think people, I will interact differently with someone, then you would). This step usually reduces these conflicts.

Try the above and let me know how it goes for you.
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.
