... Rumors about the M9600T motherboard?

First... I'm definitely a 'NewBie' on this HP FORUM!

Due to health problems, I'm sitting 3 years with my brother Geekish... gift a HP m9600t (renovated).

Recently, I tried to get him on the line as a replacement for my old and less powerful PC DeskTop self-built.

1 / I've updated the Vista operating system

2 / I rumoved a lot of the trash that is are installed programs

3 / Vista worked pretty well... saw it was VISTA!

4 / I obtained and installed Windows 7 OS

5 / by updating Win7 online, this new/refurbished HP m9600t restarted and when he cycled back up on the

reset, he showed in RED , which both of the 1 500 GB drives RAID had not (I think that the message came from the BIOS).

6 / I took at a local store and paid $75 for them to verify and evaluate the 2 HDD (s) and install a base OS Win7.

7 / took the PC at home and proceeded to update OS Win7...

8 / after a minimum OnLine updates during the first start-up I and now see Red information/Error Messages that indicate a problem with the first ['0'] RAID 1 disk... but that the reader is "always Bootable" !

9 / Googling through the whole InterNET this problem shows that HP has experienced problems with some motherboards in this model M9600t PC.

Q1 - can shed you some light on the issues and concerns my RAID 1 or a motherboard!

Q2 - I should continue my OnLine updates to Win7?

Sam aka MrSafety44

[Personal information]

Dave,

I think the BIOS is updated now and I will check that with the Belarc Advisor program!

You've been "on the spot" with all your suggestions... much more accurate than my local

Repair shop who blindly Chantilly my HHD (s) and stood in my view that we need

address also the drivers & BIOS questions!

Unless it takes another turn for the worse, I consider it another success

history of you... a feather in your hat somehow!

Thank you... Sam

  • Funny thing about the problems of its flag

As for my funniest sound quality in my HP Pavilion - I can hear very well with my helmet, but the sound just in itself is horrible.  I don't get what everyone said about the demos, can't hear the lyrics of songs and television. I ordered to install speakers. If this does not work, I don't know what else to do.

Am I condemned not to sound as if I had with Windows XP.  I didn't have to get another computer. Mine crashed unexpectedly. I had no choice. I guess that sometimes life is not fair. I liked my other computer.  Who knew what would happen.

Is there something I can do?  Can anyone help?

I don't have any time of las answers when I left a message. I guess there is no help.  I buy the computer wrong? I do not know. I just paid a lot of money for something that doesn't work well. And do you know what someone told me when I had a problem? "Come back in about 2 weeks, so that we know more about Vista." Great! Not even the experts know how to help. I guess I'll have to figure out the problem myself. I can't afford to invest more money in more computer "fixing".

The one who said, 'come back after 2 weeks while we know more about vista' should not support. Honestly.

Vista has been out for about 2 years and I used it for the past 2.5 years while he was still in phase BETA and I'm currently testing windows 7 where we talk so no it isn't that NEW.

What I first need is your computer model number so I can find the sound card and the OS type if it is x 32 or x 64.

I had a few questions for you:

    (1) how old is the pc?

    (2) never sound work well before?

    (3) have tried to update your driver, or reinstall the original driver on hp.com and look for your model of pc?

    (4) have you tried green ports the front and back audio and see if that makes a difference.

Most likely the speakers still sounds like the helmet will be.

What I would do in this case is to run a system recovery if you don't have much personal and start from scratch and then if the problem is still there while you may need to have the good card/motherboard replaced by a new and you must call 800-HPINVENT support number and let them know what's going on and steps did you.

Reply back when you can. Thanx.

On the bottom is says ENTER: PRESS to START NORMAL or something similar! He has never done before, so that I have to reset/upgrade to update the BIOS or what? I would appreciate your help regarding this issue... and I thank you in advance!

    Mario,

The problem was, as I installed it and not a certified HP Tech, the new motherboard was not entered in my system for a lack of a better term! Look at my personal tech for all the info he needed and had it fixed in less than half an hour! Before that, I did follow your advice and update my BIOS nothing helps... but at least it is updated! • Question about the V1.3.8.0 Raid driver update

    Hello.
Can someone tell me what are the advantages of doing an update of the RAID Toshiba Windows XP MCE 1.3.8.0 driver or what case?

Also had another problem... I tried to install the driver for interim relief and he made a mistake... my version of raid is always the one I had before and couldn t install this version.
    Any help would be cool.
    Thank you

As far as I know the RAID driver must be installed at the begging of the installation of the OS.
Unfortunately there is no any official documents about the correctional system and the benefits of updates.
But I think that the new driver could be compatible with more motherboards and controller.

  • Replaced the bad motherboard and cannot restore from recovery disks

I replaced a card Pegatron M2N78 - mother in a Pavilion p6130y PC and I tried to restore to the recovery disks, but he says that the restore disks will not work on this system.  Really, I care is in accordance with the operating system (Vista), I don't want to pay for what I have already.  Research I've done shows that the old motherboard was known to be defective.  During the troubleshooting process, the recovery process was started, but then is broken when the card mother crapped out and didn't not recognize SATA devices.  When trying to start, he knew and then wouldn't recognize them, usually about 75/25% respectively.  Because of this, I can't just start it on the HARD drive and update the existing drivers and update the Vista license.  I have more money to buy only 7.

How can I get the installed operating system or perform a full recovery on this system?

    Hello:

The recovery disks only works on exact material they were made for.

Because you have installed a different motherboard, at microsoft a new motherboard = a new PC.

OEM licenses are licenses that computers come with HP (and any other manufacturer).

This means that they are good only for that specific PC and cannot be transferred to another PC or motherboard.

  • Microsoft cares if I use my old OS OEM with the new motherboard?

I am building a newish computer; Microsoft cares any longer, if I use my old OS OEM with the new motherboard? All of the previous answers to this question are all about 2011 are resolutely "affirmative", they care. The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

  • Re-using windows 7 oem on the new motherboard

Hello I know that this question was asked a little, but I ask. I have my code and my physical drive. Right now, my windows is installed on my current motherboard. But I'm going to update my motherboard, CPU and GPU. I contacted I'd say customer live chat was not sure about it. But the person said I could use my key on a new motherboard, I just uninstall windows from my current which I was going to do. I see mixed comments on the OEM version of some people saying that it cannot be used on a system on this map a mother and can not be reused never on anything else. And others say that you can use it on a different build just uninstall etc.  I'm not seriously having to spend $100 on another windows just to update some parts.

    Hello

Sorry to disappoint, but according to the terms of the license, a new motherboard is a new computer. The OEM of Windows version you have currently is linked to your existing motherboard. The only way you could 'reuse' it would be if you took the existing motherboard and built a new system around this motherboard and processor. It would be different if you had a full retail version of Windows 7, which is authorized to the user, so it can travel with you.

Hope this clears the contradictory messages that you saw.

    Kind regards

  • BSOD when trying to install Win7 64 bit with the new motherboard

    Hi all

I have the following BSOD problem:
I installed a new motherboard in my system (a MSI P43 C51). Before that, I got a Gigabyte G41MT-S2P. The rest of the configuration is: Q9650, Thermaltake truespirit 90 cooler, 2 x 4 GB DDR3 1333, GTX 470, 750W PSU, case name, SATA HDD 500 GB, Windows 7 64 bit.

Well, the problem started when I tried to boot into windows with the new motherboard: I got BSOD 1 second after windows starts loading. I thought... new motherboard, install new windows, so I tried to install windows 7 64 bit DVD and USB stick, I get the STOP: 0x0000000A error during installation. I changed the HARD drive, thinking that it could be a bad sector problem, but no, the other hard drive behaved exactly the same thing. I got BSOD at 40% extraction, extraction of 90% and for the moment "Complete the installation..." ». I also tried to install with the stick of memory only one, spent between ports, everything. The material I have works, as I played on my PC every day in the last month and received no. BSOD, also had a small overclock the CPU and the GPU (100 MHz on the processor, that the old motherboard supported more than 343 fsb and about 100 MHz on the GPU). It was stable, no errors, no nothing.

My thoughts are only, after asking some knowledge that work in computer support, it could be a problem of version of the BIOS (BIOS is 2005..) and the fact that my Win 7 installation kit is without Service Pack 1 (a colleague told me that he had this problem for the PC more than once and after trying to install SP1 It went smoothly and without errors)

I just got a new "blank" DVD of Win 7 64 bit with SP1. What I'll try today is to Flash the bios with the latest version and install the OS on a HARD drive new, sealed. He could not be my system components, because they are compatible and they worked 1 day before with no problems! I have literally NO IDEA what could be the problem. Today, I'll try the installation of the new DVD and with the new version of the BIOS. If this does not work, I have no idea what I can do... It is a sucky situation.

If you have any suggestions, please, don't keep it to yourself :-D

    Thank you!
    Alex

    ==============================================

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Drivers could be at fault, however the problems of disk or security/antivirus/antispyware products are
just as likely to be the root cause that they can force a driver to corrupt or go out of bounds.
The video driver or something affecting it would be questionable.

At the end of this message, I'll post a bluescreen generic and in the next convenience store
How do to update the drivers and BIOS but also to check memory message.

    -----------------------------------

    BCCode: 0a 0x0000000A

    Cause

This bug check is issued if the memory paged (or invalid) is accessible when the IRQL is too high.

The error that usually generates this bug check occurs after the installation of the faulty device driver or service system, BIOS.

If you encounter a bug 0xA control during the upgrade to a later version of Windows, this error can be caused by a device driver, system service, an anti-virus or a backup tool that is not compatible with the new version.

    Solve the problem

If a kernel debugger is available, get a stack trace.

To resolve an error caused by the faulty device driver or service system, BIOS

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. Press F8 to character-based menu that displays the choice of operating system.
    3. In the WindowsAdvanced Options menu, select last known good Configuration . This option is most effective when a pilot or a service is added at a time.

To resolve an error caused by an incompatible device driver, system service, virus scanner, or backup tool

    1. Check the system log in Event Viewer for error messages that may identify the device or driver that caused the error.
    2. Try disabling the cache in memory of the BIOS.
    3. Run the diagnostics of equipment provided by the manufacturer of the system, in particular the scanner memory. For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.
    4. Make sure that the latest Service Pack is installed.
    5. If your system has cards (SCSI) small computer system interface, contact the card manufacturer for updated Windows drivers. Try to disable sync negotiation in the SCSI BIOS, check the wiring and the SCSI ID of each device and confirming the proper termination.
    6. For devices (IDE) peripheral electronic integrated, set the built-in as only primary IDE port. Also, check each IDE device to the right setting master/slave/stand alone. Try to remove all IDE devices except for the hard drives.

If the message appears during installation of Windows, make sure that the computer and installed devices are listed in the list of the products tested Microsoft Windows market.

    Comments

Before upgrading to a new version of Windows, remove all third-party device drivers and system services and disable any antivirus. Contact software manufacturers for updates of these third-party tools.

  • Why finder hide Documents and office files in the home directory of the user by activating iCloud drive? What about the behavior of Time Machine backup or third-party applications?

I'm under MacOS Sierra. I am connected to my iCloud account. I activated the option Desktop and Documents, but I did NOT activate the option optimize Mac storage, because I wanted to make sure that all my files would be available locally, just in case, I would need to work without an internet connection.

-J' noticed there now a menu iCloud in my sidebar in the Finder, with links to Documents and desktop.

-J' also noticed that Documents is no longer presented in my favorites in my side bar of the Finder.

-This last suggests that files saved in 'Documents' are not saved more on my HD... but only in iCloud, which isn't what I want.

-Then, sailing in the Finder Macintosh HD/users / 'My account' /, I noticed that my Documents and desktop folders are more visible, as if these files are not saved in my home folder most. Which raises the question: where are My Documents and files on my HD, so they are still?

-Using a shell session in the terminal and again navigate to/Users / 'My account' /, I noticed that my Documents and desktop folders are still there. Which suggest that records and records of office reside actually still in my home folder under users, but Finder actually hide it and present them as being stored in iCloud only disc. It's very confusing.

    This raises several questions:

-In the first place, why Apple hide Documents and office files in the directory? Why not view these folders in iCloud and directory?

-Whence the iCloud folder or drive, reside actually on my hard drive?

-What time Machine. Is it still back up my document files and folders?

-What games third-party app mirroring backup of My Documents files and folders? They still work properly? (I use Livedrive backup and Sugarsync for files mirrored across several macs).

-How can I understand that Apple is doing with my folders and files? Some users might be happy with the iCloud drive concept, without worrying about how it works, but I don't take chances, and I want to keep a good understanding about the functioning of my system.

Could someone explain what is exactly happening?

With office and selected Documents, access to these files are now in the iCloud Drive, not in your home folder.

My guess would be that they do not appear in your file because it would be confusing for many people to make them in two places.

If you want in the Favorites, open iCloud Drive and drag them in the sidebar here.

All about iCloud drive has been saved on your Mac. With the exception of the office and the Documents, they are in ~/Library/Mobile Documents. However, if you choose optimized storage, older documents are removed from your Mac. I don't know what is "old".

~/Documents and ~/desktop have new metadata indicating probably Finder does not display them in a Finder window, only in iCloud drive. They are not hidden in one of the normal methods of unix.

I have not tested Time Machine or any other backup program. The folder still exist in your directory home, and they still have all the files, I don't think that changes anything.

  • Ask about the feature find my phone

    Hello Apple support Team,

I have a question about the find my iPhone feature which is as follows.

-If I had put in place the "find my phone" feature when I bought the iPhone and did not open at all in 2-3 months. So that the disconnection of the app itself?

I ask this because my phone got stolen yesterday and looking for opportunities that could have gone wrong.

On my laptop, I'm always a corner of yesterday in front of https://www.icloud.com/#find to find the location, but its doesn't help not.

(PS: this my second time that find my iPhone is not useful for me, I really wish that Apple must lock the turning the option off when the phone is in mode Code (lock mode))

    Waiting for your response.

    Thank you

    Ravi

If you enable find my iPhone, it will be on except if you have disabled (requires your password to iCloud).  The location will only show if the phone is connected to a network and still has the power.

Hmm, you are using the all-in - One Sidebar extension? It has a compatibility issue with the Page Info dialog box in Firefox 42. See: FF42 - view Page Info - media tab is missing.
