Run 16-bit programs on 64-bit OS?

I have a few old 16-bit games that will play on a computer with Windows 7 32 bit, but will not play on my other computer with Windows 7 64 bit. On one of these games in particular Setup works even in 64-bit.  Is it possible to install and play these games on 64-bit? Can someone tell me how?

As far as I know, XP Mode is not supported by the editions of the House or Basic. You can download and use an emulator BACK. There is a utility called DOSBox available for free download at: http://www.dosbox.com/

This is not quite accurate. 64-bit Windows 7 (which must be what you)
have) does not 16-bit, but Windows 7 32 bit programs.

    Thank you for your support.

    Hello

I agree with the user above. According to your VPN software it will maybe work on 64 bit OS because it s also able to handle 32-bit programs normally

In your case I would try to install the software and then you can give us feedback: how it works. It would be interesting, and I think for other users. :)

  • Running 32-bit executables on 64-bit operating system fails

I'm trying to run a test program compiled on a 32-bit Labview (Labview 2011 running in Windows XP) on a 64-bit Windows 7 environment Home premium.

When I open this application, it performs some actions, but there is no accumulation of front panel and then it just stop respond (there is activity Central 100%).

Applications only use a USB-6009 module of NOR to collect data and change some faucets (what he does during the initialization of the program, so it seems to be OK).

Does anyone have experience with this problem?

    Thank you in advance.

    Best regards.

You can download the latest driver (OR-DAQmx 9.6.1) from here. I recommend having the latest version of the driver.

  • How to solve (can't run 16-bit windows) Windows vista.thanks in advance

try to load a legacy program that requires Windows 3.1

    Hello

Windows Vista does not include a 16-bit subsystem. You will not be able to run 16-bit applications on Windows Vista directly.

You can check if the program works in Windows XP compatibility mode.

Make older programs in this version of Windows

If you use Windows Vista business, Windows Vista Enterprise or Windows Vista Edition integral, you can try to install Virtual PC and then you can install Windows XP on your virtual PC to run 16-bit applications.

You can download Virtual PC for Vista from the link below:
Download the full version of Microsoft Virtual PC 2007.

  • 12/04/2015: how to run 32-bit software on a laptop teacher Win7 64-bit?

12/04/2015: initially, my laptop running Win 7 Home Edition, but I want to run Topo series National Geographic, which had been purchased several years ago.  Since I had invested so much money in the complete series of Topo, more accessories drives and NG had no 64-bit version, I thought (wrongly) that Win 7 teacher would allow me to run 32-bit sessions at the same time, or at least to switch back.   I bought the upgrade professional Express - no luck.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.  The laptop has 8 GB of memory.  (NG US Topo series offers topographic maps of the whole, as well as detailed maps of smaller areas, with the ability to print customized maps with different parameters.)  It was a substantial investment, and one I am reluctant to throw.  Yes, I could go buy a 32-bit computer, but that seems extravagant only to run a program.

    Dear Sir

64-bit Windows is capable of running 32-bit programs and FYI if you have a product key for any architecture of windows, you can install a version that suits, but in this case you have 8 GB of RAM, so 64 bit is right for you.

Best choice is to go for a clean install of Windows 7 Professional (X 64), and then try to install your software.

Another test is right click on the .exe program then properties then compatibility then choose the configuration that you want to try.

    Good luck.

Most 32-bit applications work fine on Windows 7 64 bit.

If you have an application that does not support Windows 7 64 bits, you can try compatibility mode:

This is a misleading message. The Tablet Surface RT can run regular Windows, 16-bit, 32-bit or 64-bit programs, more than an Android tablet. The Tablet Surface RT is identical to an advanced Android Tablet architechturally but running a version specially made for Windows.

Please read the specification - it is clearly stated.
