• Required radio buttons - Possible Cause of unable to submit the form?

  I'm missing something about radio buttons.  Create a form of 9 page using the layout fluid and with the previous help from this forum, am being tested now.  It's a long questionnaire and questions are radio buttons, some are checkboxes.  For radio buttons, they are a Yes/No, each set contains 2 buttons and I use the question numbers under the name of link, for example the Question a 17, 4 sets of boxes for Yes/No to sub questions A, B, C and D, thus binding names Q17A, Q17B, etc..

  I have a form with pages having engineered.  JS for spawning exception works very well.  However, a text field on model is driving me crazy.  I wish that this field ("CaseNum") to dynamically display the page number, given that the page number also matches the file number.  On templage ("getcase"), I can calculate the value for CaseNum using custom script calc (event.value = this. PageNum).  But it does not work because each page having spawned Gets the same value (that is to say, what is the latest issue of the page generated).   I am new to Adobe Livecycle Designer (version 8.0). I created an interactive pdf form of 3 pages with many objects (text fields, radio buttons, drop-down lists, etc.), our company wants to quickly start to use.

  I'm having trouble with some of my Javascript does not not with some of my items on page 2 of the form. Specifically, there is a drop down menu to "Country" on page 2 of my form. When the user selects, for example, 'United States' in the list, I have the Javascript code that is supposed to change the 'currency' list drop-down to "Dollars" rawValue accordingly (on the change event).

  I think that my Javascript syntax is correct, but I am not sure. Here's my simple Javascript associated with the "Country" drop-down list (Note: rawValue 80 = 'United States' and 105 rawValue = "US $"):

  It sounds pretty simple and it WORKS when my "Country" drop-down list is moved to page 1 of the form, but it WON'T WORK when I move the combo box "Country" return to page 2 of the form (i.e. where it belongs).

  Anyone has suggestions or solutions? I spent probably 6-8 hours of racking my brain trying to figure out why it works when on a single page, but it does not work when to move to another page. I guess I can have corrupted something OR that I not address fully the proper name of the object?

  Yes, it's a quirk of... in the drop-down lists when you select an item in the DOF it is not committed until you exit the field, unless you do the following:

  The xfa.resolveNode stuff was not necessary that both objects are of the same subform, and as such can 'see' each other.

  Think like a folder structure subforms - elements can see what is in their own folder but will say where to find things in other folders. If cmbCountry was subform1 and cmbCurrency was so in subform2 that rawValue above lines would look like:

  subform2.cmbCurrency.RawValue = 1;

  It's a good idea to name all your objects, subforms, etc. it is to work with script is much easier - so you won't have to deal with things like these pieces of xfa.resolveNode you had before (as well).   There is no event.target in AS2. However since AS2 has no way to remember the scope object where the target object, you can use this to your advantage to get the name of the target using the command 'that' in the function when you use the format above "mc.onPress = myfunc". FYI, the delegate popular workaround solution, enabled when you called 'this' in the function, you can retrieve the scope object where the target instance. So without her help, "this" will return the name of the target object. In any case, this is the code that you can use:

  I'm very green with actionscript and coding in general so please forgive me if I ask you something that sounds super easy.

  Is it possible to take the "event.target.name" value, which in my case would be something like 'SW5005_mc' and change this value.

  I use this value now to tell another clip of gotoAndStop (event.target.name); I have identical to the event.target.name marked images.

  I would like to take the value of event.target.name for example "SW5005_mc" and delete the "_mc" and put a dash between the 'SW' and the '5005.

  for "SW-5005" and then I'd spend it in a text field.

  I don't really know where to start, or if this is possible.

  You can use String.indexOf to find the _ and just get everything entered, then use substr and substring for the rest:
