Running Win 7. Process of FF DL stops at DL of 'stub '. Help.

When I try to download and install FF on my Windows 7 computer, the process stops after successful downloading [apparently] Setup Stub 29.0.1. I tried several times to do it, always with the same results. To go forward would be, by definition, insanity.

My Windows 7 machine (s) has / have all available updates.

CHF 100 to 1000 attempts of the user must be affected by the same phenomenon.

There are some security software on Windows that flexes the installer of Firefox heel as unreliable and refuse to download and install Firefox in this way.

If you have these security software, you should contact them and inform them of this problem because they should have fixed this weeks when Firefox 29 released.

    Hello

IE was running is very important to the solution to the issue - check below.

    -----------------------------------

BEX errors often are caused by toolbars such as Google, TrendMicro and others. You use one
3rd toolbars in IE? Cause and solution is the same for Vista and Windows 7.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have NEVER
on this machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave remnants behind which emits causes).

Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore advanced settings, and then click RESET - APPLY / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - click on Reset all areas - APPLY / OK

Close and restart IE or IE with no addons

Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if she's here, it is no longer necessary but Java still
installs and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again). Look for other
    possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look right.
Allowed are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If in doubt about a program, ask
    topic here.

Could be that a BHO - SpyBHOremover - free - program of autonomous, needs no installation, download, unzip
and run. Also not all the BHO is bad, that some managed bars of tools and features that you added.
    http://securityxploded.com/bhoremover.php

    Startup programs
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/79612-startup-programs-enable-disable.html

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you never think malware updated, then
    run as a scanner.

    I hope this helps.

  • Host process for Windows Services stopped working and was closed & Windows must now restart because the DCOM Server process Launcher service terminated unexpectely

my computer keeps stopping and restarting itself. I get the same messages of 2 error: host process for Windows Services stopped working and was closed and; Windows must now restart because the DCOM Server process Launcher service terminated unexpectely. How can I fix? I used the norton support, run analyses of many, nothing has helped.

None of the above works though... I didn't know by another forum to download Hitman 3.5 http://www.surfright.nl/en/downloads/home that he got rid of a virus that norton, Norton 360 and Malwarebytes antivirus support could not. I had no problem since :)

  • Can I Exchange an old HD XP to my new HD running Win 7? I need to recover data

    Hello

I have an old m10560y of HP Media Center PC with a PJ751AV 160 G hard drive SATA 7200 RPM, which I removed because the motherboard is damaged. I was running Win XP on this machine. I only need to retrieve data on this drive... not going to use it with the new HD (below)

I currently have an HP Pavilion Elite e9150t by the following:

    Windows 7

    10G RAM

    AVO47AV 750 G 7200 RPM SATA 3G 8 / S HD

    Model #: e9150t
    Product #: NY810AV-ABA
    Software Build #: 93NAv6PcA5
    Service ID #: 110-811
    PCBRAND: Pavilion

I want to disconnect the existing 750 G HD (Win 7), plug the HD 160 G (Win XP), retreve data on an external hard drive and then plug the HD 750 G and be on my merry way.

    Can I do this?

Will there be a problem running the old HD 160 G because it works under XP or it will be plug and play?

If connected to a USB port, so no, the computer should detect Windows on the internal disk and boot off that. Not all models have motherboards that can even allow the boot off the USB connections. You should be fine. Even if it does not, simply unplug the USB cable before entering Windows and then plug it to the top.

  • SMBus and usb drivers for Pavilion P6-2312ea running Win 7 x 64 3

    Hello

My step daughter has finally threw his arms up in the air and agreed that win 8 is more pain on a desktop that is worthwhile and is not for her.

We have installed Windows 7 64 bit and are now just trying to find the compatible drivers for SM Bus controller and usb 3.0.

I'm assuming that the drivers for usb 3.0 as the keyboard and mouse are ok, just the 2 front usb 3.0 do not work (although that seemed to have given up after a week).

We executed the 'original' pilots when he was running Win 8 x 64, but they don't seem to have. Maybe a compatibility problem, can be me as it was very early this morning when I gave up for a while.

    Any help/pointers gratefully received

    TIA

    Hi BobM202,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. you receive an error message?

    3. do you have security software installed on the computer?

    4. are you referring to freezing except office mouse movement?

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

  • "Audio Windows has stopped working" and "host process for windows services stopped working.

Hello. I recently had to reinstall windows vista on my computer. Everything works well except that I continue to have problems with the audio. When I play youtube videos or to make Skype calls, that the sound disappears and I get the message "Windows Audio has stopped working" immediately followed by the message "host process for windows services stopped working." I remember having this problem in the past, every time that I had to restore the operating system, but I don't remember what I did to remedy. I went to the history of my problem and it's certainly a problem with Windows Audio. What can I do?

How should I do? and my lower start bar turned white based

    Hello KenricLow,

Try this to see if you can connect.
    Boot to safe mode.

    To access Safe Mode:
    (a) restart your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
    (b) select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and press ENTER.
    (c) when the boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.

Of in safe mode, type msconfig in the start in the start menu search box and press return. Then on the Startup tab, uncheck the box any reference to the verisign/authentec software. Then, go to the services tab, sort the columns by manufacturer, then uncheck all references to Verisign. Then click ok and restart in normal mode.

If please reply back and let us know if that helped to turn out to get rid of your error message.

    Sincerely,

  • CD/DVD on my D610 running Win 7 does not detect a blank DVD

I just bought a Dell D610 with Win 7 and my optical drive doesn't detect any blank DVD in the drive.  CD is fine and I am able to burn a CD, but do not detect any DVD, be they + R or - R.

The player is able to detect and play the burnt meadow or store bought DVDs very well.

I've been to the Section of the driver of dell and get the message that the OS is not supported.  I tried to load the driver for my drive but no luck.

I have two D610s, one running XP and the reader detects and burns DVD fine.  I swapped the drive of the laptop with Win 7 and used on one with XP and it works very well.

Tried both discs on one running Win 10 and again, they fail to detect any blank DVDs, I tried, including Memorex and Maxwell discs with no luck.

    Both drives are HL-DT-ST CDRW/DVD GCC4244 ATA

Current driver version: 6.1.7601.17514 Date: 2006-06-21

I also tried the Driver on the Dell download site, but that doesn't work anymore.

I have read suggestions to remove upper and/or lower limits, but this info is not listed in the section of the registry.  Could this be the issue perhaps?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi acamara,

This disc is a CD-RW/DVD-ROM. It can read and burn CDs, but it can only read DVD, not burn DVDs.
