RVS4000 lose network access and internet - reboot required

I have recently bought a RVS4000 router and experience of major service disruptions.

Almost daily router RVS4000 loss of internet connectivity.

I noticed that when this happens, I can not connect on my pc which is connected to the network RVS4000 router.

The only way to restore connectivity is to restart the RVS4000 by of disonnecting power and voltage to the top.

WAN router is connected to a cable modem.

The RVS400 has two connected on PC. (port 3 & 4)

I have a 8-port switch Cisco connect to the RVS4000 with 3 PCs/devices additional to this topic.

Is it possible to determine what is happening?  Newspapers do not seem to indicate a lot.

What is the cause?

Please need help, ideas, suggestions!

Thank you.

Tony

Hi Tony, first thing to do is to make sure the router is running the latest firmware 2.0.3.2

http://www.Cisco.com/Cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=282414013&CATID=268437899&softwareid=282465789&release=2.0.3.2&relind=available&rellifecycle=&RelType=latest

For good measure, after the upgrade of the software, reset the device to factory default. Once completed, I would put the minimum requirements just to have internet access and then wait and see if there is a problem.

If the problem happens again, best thing maybe is set up an external syslog server so it can capture events when the router is not accessible, which can point to a good direction.

Not sure if the problem is hardware or software. Reinstalled Vista (32 bit) and all programs. Make sure that the appropriate driver has been installed at HP. Can access the internet via ethernet, but wireless is detected with excellent resistance but will only give local access. I would be grateful for any feedback. In addition, it used to work properly. Not sure what happened to bring about change.

  • Cannot access the internet through a wifi router

Hi, I recently bought a method 3 G USB wifi router. I connected physically on my desktop and internet wifi works very well. However I have problems to get access to the internet using my laptop Vista. The laptop is a connection for the wireless network connection, but that's what I get. Any ideas what is the problem?

On my system, I connect them BOTH to the wireless network connection AND Internet (there are separate connections for each installation) on my laptop wireless.  If I don't connect to the Internet, I'm just locally connected to the wireless network.  If I am not connect to the wireless connection, I can't connect to the Internet.  I know not how your needs to be installed, but that is probably the problem.  You may add an internet connection for your laptop, and then connect both to achieve a good connection.

    I hope this helps.

    Environment:

I have a workgroup Windows 8 pro PC with all updates from Windows update. The PC is connected via WiFi (home) to a router (the same thing happens if I am connected to the router directly via RJ45). It's my "private network (NAT). I have the Windows Firewall is enabled in its default configuration. I use "Windows Defender" as my protection\firewall of virus software.  "When I go to: change options for sharing different network profiles" under advanced sharing options. I try to turn on file sharing and network discovery in the private profile. It shows that "the private sector is the current profile. The radio button lights. However, when I go to the file Explorer / network I got the message ' network discovery and file sharing are turned off. " The network computers and devices are not visible. Click here to change... " I click to change, however when I click to change it keeps returning and gives me the same message. I then go in ""network control and Internet\Network and sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings " and the option buttons in private profile for the network discovery and file sharing are turned off."

  • installation of updates from windows to windows 7 after 10/25/10 makes me lose all access to the internet (wireless and others)

I have r530i samsung that is less than 8 weeks, after that 1 week, a new set of windows udates appeared which caused my Internet to lose. I spoke to my internet provider, between us, we confirmed there was nothing wrong with the connection or otherwise (I was able to access the internet from another PC using the same provider and user name) it was suggesteed downloads had done something for my wirless modem.

I did a complete system restore and it worked just fine.

a few weeks later, the same problem occurred after some updates of windows. Unfortunately the fault can be diagnosed because I can't access the internet? I did a full recharge of the system of 23/10/10, this has worked fine, windows then downloaded updates and my internet access has failed once again so I have disabled the automatic updates and everything seems fine.

all connections work well, I can still see the home hub it won't let me access the help please

    Hello

There are various reasons for internet connection doesn't work after installing the update of windows on the computer.

First of all, I would say that you check the update is causing the problem.

To see the updates are installed on your computer

    (a) open the updates installed by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking programs, and then r undeprograms and features, click view installed updates.

Once you know the update's KB number then visit the Microsoft Download and put the number in the search box, download and install the update manually after placing the computer in a clean boot state.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    I hope this helps!

  • WiFi connected but unknown network and internet access

    Hello

I think I've read enough forums and done enough research I finally post my question. My other laptop is Dell Inspiron 1545. It connects to my home network, but says unknown network and no internet access. I tried wifi and ethernet cable. The IP address is set to auto detect, I have reset the router, reinstalled the drivers for the card wifi, without success. Any ideas?

    -Taylor

Only, I solved this problem on my Dell XPS, so I decided to share with the community.

After the call to Dell and discover my warranty had expired (a little more than one year) and knowledge it would cost me $129 to get a response from time, I decided to go look for solutions. I found a thread of 2009, attributing the cause to a thing of access network Mcaffee. I knew that's the question because I don't personally like the major anti virus makes (they tend to pull up of stunts like this) so I had ripped my PC McAfee, as soon as I started. But this thread has helped me understand how to solve this problem.

The problem seems to be an Agent of network access Protection on your system configuration (your start up programs). Make sure it is off. It wouldn't hurt also to try to disable the Internet Explorer ETW Collector Service (has a name shady so I nuked it too: P). this fixed my connection problem not identified immediately.

    Follow these steps (Windows 7):

    1. click on start.

    2. click on search at the bottom bar.

    3. type: msconfig

    4. press enter

    5. you should have a new window named System Configuration

    6. click on the Services tab.

    7. scroll down until you find: Network Access Protection Agent. It will be defined as stopped. It's normal.

    8. uncheck the box next to the network access Protection Agent.

    9. click on OK.

    10. restart your computer.

Your internet connection should work now. If this is not the case, repeat the procedure until step 6, and then follow these steps:

    1. scroll down until you find: Internet Explorer collector Service to ETW. It will be defined as stopped. It's normal.

2 uncheck Internet Explorer collector Service to ETW.

    3. click on OK.

    4 restart your computer.

If these two steps don't fix your problem, go back to the Configuration of the system (Services tab) and it look for any other Network Access Protection Agent, such as Macafee named ones or something similar. Please be aware that uncheck essential services can cause pc problems, so make sure you know what you're unchecking before you do. If in doubt, feel free to google it.

Another solution would be to temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall and see if that helps. If Yes, then you know where you need to focus.

Good luck and hope it works!

    Hi, Omer,.

You are using a wired or wireless network?

This problem may occur if there is more than one wireless network set up on your computer.

If you use a wireless network, I recommend you to uninstall and reinstall the wireless network and check if that helps.

    1. Click Start and select Control Panel.

    2. open the network and sharing Center.

    3. click on manage wireless networks.

4 remove all wireless network listed in this list.

5 restart the computer and you reconnect to your wireless network.

  • When I turn on my computer, already set up profiles disappear and are replaced by 'Kiosk' and 'other users' options that require passwords. I can get into 'other users' and find my previous user accounts, but lose them again after the reboot.

I bought a laptop with Windows 7 installed a few days ago. I started to set up user accounts, administrator and a guest. So far, I had been able to shut down and restart with the accounts of users even reappear. I turned on my computer and two 'user accounts' had replaced my previous. Named "kiosk", which requires a user name and password which I do not have access, and one named 'other users' that requires a user name and password. I type in comments and no password and then I can access the guest account. When I disconnect my administrator profile is available next to my usual guest account. Restart the "kiosk" and "other accounts" reappear. If it's any help, as soon as I put on my computer, I had named MDX kiosk and administrator accounts. I deleted the account kiosk MDX. I don't know if this is related at all. It is not necessarily a problem, but a disadvantage however and I panicked when this popped up on my computer.

Yes, you can uninstall MDX (it is called the digital experience of Microsoft) and it will remove the kiosk account and no trace of it, and then restart your machine. All other accounts on the machine should stay, but I would like to make a backup first. This should solve your problem. Associated with the store, you bought from should have done that for you, why they failed, I have no idea (we are instructed to do before the release of the machine to customers). If you don't mind asking me, where did you buy the machine?
