Ok

I wiped the OS and re - install a new copy of WIN7 (32 bit) starter on my Lenovo little. Downloaded the latest drivers and software.

I have:

  • NetBook - problems with the size of the screen when you play

Hello, I recently got a netbook 9 "and when I try to play games on it, the entire game screen does not fit into the netbook screen.  This means that I can't play anywhere the menu or game etc controls are at the bottom of the screen. Can someone tell me if I can fix the problem please?

    Hello Janspack.

9-inch netbooks generally have screens of 1024 x 600.  Most games have settings to choose their resolution, choose something like 800 x 600 or 1024 x 600, if they support it, and that should solve it for games that operate at full screen.

If you talk about browser based games, unfortunately they often have a fixed resolution.  In Internet Explorer, you can go to tools-> full screen to hide the browser frame that will free up a little space, but other than that there is not a lot that can be done about it, it's an a limit to have such a low vertical resolution. • Netbook problem

I bought a netbook for my son, recently Windows stopped loading on the computer, because it is a netbook there is no disk drive and no restore disk. I contacted Best Buy where I bought the computer and they said it was a problem with Windows and told me I had to contact Windows and ask for our program of restoration on a memory stick to re-install our windows program on the computer. What should I do to get our WIndows XP reinstalled on his netbook?

    Hello shortandsweetrn,

Unfortunately, I think they meant you must contact the manufacturer of the computer to get the recovery media.

Please let us know what's going wrong on the machine as well and that we are able to solve this problem without having to restore.

    • Microsoft office on netbook

I recently bought a netbook and I already have a version of Microsoft office 2007, I bought earlier and put it on another computer. Is there a way I can go through the internet to put the product code on my netbook without having to buy an external CD drive for my computer to it?

No. but you can install Office without buying an external optical drive if you have another computer and a USB thumb drive with a sufficient capacity (a 1 to 2 GB drive would be nice since IIRC the Office installation files are somewhere a little less than 500 MB).

    1. go on a computer that has an optical drive and put your office installation disc in the drive. If Setup starts, exit out of it.

    2. put your USB into the computer and make a new folder called "Office". Double-click this file to open it and leave this window open.

    3. double-click on my computer if you see icons for readers. Right-click on the drive and choose 'open '. Now, you'll see all the files on the Office installation CD.

4 Ctrl + A to select all files on the Office installation CD. Right-click/drag them in the Office folder, you did on your USB. Release the right button of the mouse and you'll get a Menu - choose 'copy '. Now, all the files from the office installation disc will be copied on the USB.

    5. you're done with this computer so remove your office installation CD and your USB key (use safely remove!).

    6. turn your USB drive into your netbook and place you in the Office folder, you did. You will find a file named setup.exe. Double-click and start the installation of Office.

It will take you less time to see that it took me to write it. ;-) MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • PROBLEM WITH NETBOOK! Help, please

    Hello guys,.

I'm having a serious problem with my HP mini 210 netbook 1028TU.

I formatted my hard drive to create two different partitions, about a month ago and installed Windows 8 Preview Release from the Microsoft Site
After 2 weeks of use, once Windows defender detected and quarantined 4 Trojan virus. When I saw that I tried to remove them, while eliminating the netbook suddenly stopped without any BSOD or a message.

I tried to restart, but now it just won't start, nothing happened since the beginning of the start screen. So I did a USB bootable windows7 to reformat the hard drive and do a clean install of windos7 Starter as it was over early. It went well and I deleted the partitions and developments and begin the installation. During Installation when it reaches 35%, he stopped and showed windows cannot be installed. I tried again, but now he hung up while he was showing "the installation program starts.

Now when I start my PC it shows: -.

Your PC needs to be repaired
and an unexpected error has occurred.

    Error code: 0xc0000034

In addition, I ran test drive by the bios and it stuck and showed "Replace hard disk 1" in RED

Please guys help me I really need for my netbook

    Fix.

Removing and reinstalling the drive is a troubleshooting step to determine if your hard disk is damaged.

    Do that first.

If no joy, then the hard drive will be replaced by a new to make you a netbook to a usable state.

  • In Hotmail, I can see only the Inbox but can't open messages. Also, I can not open all of the other categories. It is only with my netbook and is a recent problem. From an office, the account is fine.

I was read and send e-mails from my netbook and desktop computer without problem. This week, on my netbook, I can only Hotmail and see the Inbox. I can not open the mail, nor can I open one of the other sections or even get to page 2 of the Inbox. There is no problem with the desktop computer. Is there something I may be changed by chance on the netbook that prevents me from using Hotmail? Thanks for any help you can give me.

  • Problems trying to run Picture it on a netbook with Windows XP.

I'm running only a part of a program of old works, Picture it on a netbook with Windows XP. How to return to internet Explorer 7 to IE8, I read that Picture It works only in previous versions.

I'm unable to install then run Works Suite photo.  I removed my old computer and wish only to use this part of the work on a netbook.  It installs from the installation disk of my works, but as soon as I start a new project, and then click on open it closes its doors / please can anyone help.  I had heard that Word 2002 Works does not work in IE 8 so I thought maybe that's my problem.  [source]

As far as I know, MS Picture It! should still work on a computer in WinXP SP3 with IE8 installed.

That said, Microsoft has dropped all support for Picture It! January 13, 2009 and full support for WinXP SP3 on July 13, 2010. If you want to stick with Microsoft applications (free), your best bet now would be Windows Live Photo Gallery for XP-online http://explore.live.com/windows-live-photo-gallery-xp

  • Upgrade for a Netbook XP installation problem

I have a netbook (with no optical drive) on which I want to install Windows XP Home Edition.

The drive I have is an upgrade version.

The problem I have is that for some reason, the Netbook (even if the BIOS allows) will NOT start from an external DVD/CD drive, even when started he sees the drive and you can use it. Other computers boot this drive so I don't know what the problem is.

I can obviously do a flashdrive bootable for installing XP - my concern is to provide the eligible product if the external optical drive is a little dubious - I have a copy of Windows 98 Second edition on a disc, which is a product qualifies for the upgrade.

If the installation process does not see the CD drive when I am asked to insert the product calling it, how can I get around that?

I tried a Windows 7 disc - would not start from that.

I tried to boot from a floppy from Win 98 and formatting the HARD drive - still did not start.

Finally, I started from a flashdrive bootable Ubuntu 10 and used GParted to delete the partition and recreate a partition FAT32 and Hey Presto! The cd of Windows XP started...

In the process of installing XP as I write this.

    Thanks for the help!

  • How to "Windows did not start because of a configuration of the disk of the computer problem. Could not read the selected startup disk... "on a netbook without a CD/disk drive?

I did a lot of research and unfortunately havnt found a road toward the front of the detroit to a fix. Long story short... I installed Jolicloud as a dual boot with windows xp on netbook gateway of my wife. This netbook has no cd/dvd drive. Jolicloud wanted to screw up the startup option to not allow me to boot into windows, going Strait to jolicloud without option of windows. I tried to change it via the "menu.lst" and Grub.cfg file (I think) the only value I changed was I think 'boot... ". ' value between 1 and 2. When I restarted, then finally got a startup list (although I don't think that my modification of the value gave me the list, I had already installed manually "Grub" via the cmd prompt. I should have just restarted from there without changing anything else... because when I chose 'windows xp' in the start menu... He gave me a black screen and kept going back to the start menu. Then, I tried the "Vista loader" option... hoping that it would some how solve my problem... He asked me if I wanted to run a repair any. I agree with him and when he finished he told me that there is no enough space on the hard disk to copy the files (or something like that) then it froze kind of there. I had to do a hard reboot after that that it froze, then I got the code "Windows did not start because of a computer disk configuration problem. Could not read from the selected boot disk.  check the hardware path and startup disk, please check the windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and your hardware for more information reference manuals.

Again, I have no drive cd/dvd on a netbook... IM assuming that im going to have to return a key USB with windows boot info to load the Manu F2 at startup... But I do not know... Help, please. Thank you

  • WRT160NL problem: netbook does not connect to WAN more wireless

The object just about everything said.

Router is configured for manual installation, Wireless-G only, IP addresses from 2, (varies from 2 to 201).

I have a Gigabyte M912 netbook that used to connect to the Internet via the wireless through my old D-Link and had no problem with it.

With WL160NL, it connects to the wireless all right, but she's not anywhere from there. It gets an IP address, it connects successfully, but not internet sites are available. Ping gateway (192.168.1.1) gives 4 request timeouts. Other devices (Tablet Acer A500, break the smartphones, even a Wowwee Rovio sand) have no similar problem< connecting="" and="" seeing="" each="" other="" and="" connecting="" to="" the="">

    1. I have no idea why this is happening.

2 restart the netbook, ignition and extinction of the wifi module, remove remembered network settings and enter their new etc. does nothing.

    3. manually configure the netbook to use a default instead of DHCP static IP address did not help.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Where should I start looking?

p.s. If it helps, the netbook uses an Atheros AR5007EG module.
