DVD burner does not recognize blank dvd inserted into the pc

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

  • DVD Drive Power Off and does not restart

DVD Multi hunt in my ThinkPad W530 assignments after a while to save battery. But when I go into my computer, make a straight on the drive and click to turn on, nothing happens. The Player opens and allows me to put the disc in it, but no program on my computer does not detect the drive. Not Windows Explorer, not any program, not Windows Media Player to DVD burning. When I disconnect, then reconnect, the drive simply disappears from the hard disk.

So far, the only way that I was able to get the DVD drive working again is by restarting the computer.

  • DVD burner does not recognize blank DVDs, but will recognize blank CD?

I read through several similar messages, but none seem to have a solution to my problem.  I'm NOT very technically savvy, so this is as much I know:

    I have a Dimension E310

It was supposed to come with a cd burner and a dvd burner combo.

The reader says DVD R/RW RW DVD rewritable Compact Disk its Ultra Speed

I was able to successfully burn CDs from itunes, but have not been able to burn any kind of video file.  In fact, when I insert a blank dvd in the drive, the computer does not recognize that everything is there.

As I said, I'm not the person most computer savvy in the world.  I know how to work with my applications, but I know little about the way in which a computer is set up, so I apologize in advance if my question is ignorant, but I appreciate any help you can give.  Thank you in advance.

  • Optiarc DVD + RW AD - 7717H ATA does not recognize discs

Dell Inspiron N3040 [Amin Note: Service Tag published by policy TOU], o/s Windows 7 SP1.

I want to assure you that I need to replace the DVD + RW on my Del Inspiron N3040.  I ran the test Hardware diagnosis customize for the CD/DVD device.  It is built in self test (test all the) first hardware test, but the test of trust returns an error message "No. disc or can not read the disc in your drive.  You insert a disc that contains data such as a software installation disc if you want to try again.  You want to try again? "I had inserted the Dell installation disk when I started the test but went ahead and insert another disc to install.  I had the same error 'no disk... ". ».  I ran the test of reading and look for and received the error message "no disk...". ».  The DVD is reported in the BIOS and Windows Explorer.  Windows Explorer displays the DVD in drive D:, but returns the error "insert disk".  Device Manager lists the DVD and properties related material under the general tab, "this device is functioning."  The DVD region is correct, the pilot is reported and the last update is already installed, but the Volumes tab shows "no media".  I deleted the Upperfilter and UpperFilter files in the registry, rebooted and it still does not recognize a disc.

Is there anything else I should check or do I have to buy a new DVD player?  Please notify.

    Hi sjeffer01,

I think that you have correctly diagnosed a bad drive. You need to replace it.

Don't forget that Device Manager checks really just the drivers, not the hardware.

  • I had to replace my hard drive and now windows does not recognize my product code valid what to do?

I don't know what else to add, it's an HP computer and I've had it for 3 years. the hard drive has become corrupted and I replaced it and now windows 7 Home premium that I bought from best buy does not recognize as valid product code. What now?

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • DVD Sony player appears installed but does not recognize any CD or DVD

I just bought a Sony Optiarc AD7260 DVD RW drive and installed in my system. I am running Win XP Pro sp3. My Bios says the drive is recognized by the latter and in the Device Manager in Windows, the drive shows up and says that "this device works properly." However, any disk I put in the drive (self burned cd / self burned dvd / retail music cd / dvd retail game / virgins DVD) never presents itself as being accessible. When the drawer goes in, I get the icon of the cd spinning for about 15-30 seconds, but then it goes back to the usual pointer. If I try to access the drive in Windows Explorer or any other program, it does not appear. I tried to use ImgBurn to get media info I had placed in the drive (blanks & with data) but it still says "incompatible medium installed" in the drive. The Optiarc is my 4th Sata device, 3 others are hard drives. The system is a dc7100 HP Compaq with 3 GB of ram. Any suggestions?

    Hello.

Do you have the old disk, or access to another drive, try in the computer?  If these work then you will have a faulty drive.  It is possible to have a defective out of the box.  Also try a different SATA cable.  These can sometimes be problematic.

    Hello

It looks a bit like a malfunction of the equipment. Maybe the lens of the drive can not calibrate correctly.

    Another clue;
Have you tried to delete the upper and lower filter registry entries?

  • DVD burner does not recognize a DVD + RW

I recently bought a DVD burner, after getting advice from Dell, to replace the original equipped DVD ROM (?) in my Dell Dimension 4500, so that I could record my video movies on DVD discs.

The DVD burner, I was recommended is the ASUS DRW - 2014L 1 and this was provided by one of the "registered partners" from Dell. Unfortunately, this "Registered Partner" was useless, aggressive & dismissive to all after sales help or advice, where my request on this forum for assistance or advice.

I had no trouble to record my videos on blank DVDs DVD - RW drives, but when you try to use DVD + RW discs (to use in my Sony Home DVD drive), the drive will not recognize them. Both the + RW & - RW discs are brand new Maxell disks, the RW - 1-2 x speed, single-sided 4.7 GB & the + RW 1-4 x speed, single-sided 4.7 GB.

When there is no record of any type in the DVD drive, it shows in my computer as: DVD - RAM Drive (D). When a DVD - RW disc is inserted it changes to: CD Drive (D) with an icon of DVD - RW & this is also confirmed when I check on the properties.

However, when you insert a DVD + RW and the DVD - RAM Drive (D) going to Drive (D) CD, as with the DVD - RW, no icon is displayed to indicate the drive is recognized, or it appears in the properties.

As far as I can determine from the card, the ASUS DRW - 2014 L 1 is designed for both + & - DVD.

I'd appreciate any help or advice... or am I just dumb?

    Thank you

    Tony
