S170 unit - M1 Port disconnects

I have a random question with a whole new S170 where the M1 (mgmt) port disconnects after about 3-4 hours of availability.  Reboot (reboot soft) brings the M1 port online.  P1 remains connected.  P2 is not used.

This unit is a more recent which was replaced because the old unit did the same thing.

The code has been upgraded to 8.8.0 - 085.  The unit is not in production.  It's just sitting there connected to the network.

It is connected to a 6509-E.  I had the port and the M1 cable has been connected.  The same problem occurred on the new port/cable.

My guess is that the problem lies in the S170 because when the S170 low state of M1, a reboot fixes it... to move the port/cable when there in a low State M1 IS NOT correct it...

Could it be a setting in the 6509 which tells the S170 to drop its M1 port?  (I've personally never heard of a switch something like that, especially for 3-4 hours after the connection).

Has anyone seen this behavior before?

Hello

Thank you for reaching out, this 'State' can occur if two MAC addresses in response to the ARP broadcast, for default gateway for the interface of M1.  default ger table ARP "Refresh" every 4 hours.

What is a next step:

If possible take a packet capture which will show you the MAC addresses in response to ARP broadcast and one entry will be valid (owned by D/G of M1 interface)

or

Open a TAC case and an engineer can help.

Kind regards

    Hello Joe

I saw in some your previous assignments that you use external DVD drive too.

I use my Tecra with Replicator port and a multi LG external DL disk attached to the port replicator (due to the fast data transfer firewire connection). Everything works fine and I wonder how you can have all of these problems.

If your device is set up correctly, including all the original drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba download page should not have any problem. I hope that you have installed the unit without port replicator and you don t forget Mobile extension tool. As much as I know there is no driver for Replicator port and all the signals are loop just to the ports of the replicaror port.

  • Aspire Switch 10 (SW5-011-18R3) Bluetooth pairs and disconnects

I have an Aspire Switch 10 (SW5-011-18R3) with Bluetooth connectivity question.

Already updated BIOS 1.06 and all windows updates of fact. Pairs of Bluetooth with other units and then disconnects after 15 seconds.

I have exchanged the Tablet for another brand new and same problem again.

Someone at - it one Aspire Switch 10 (SW5-011-18R3) with a similar problem?

I'm just checking if this is a widespread problem with the Aspire Switch 10 (SW5-011-18R3)

or extreme bad luck with 2 units I got.

Think about it, someone at - he sucks a 10(SW5-011-18R3) switch with a fonctioning fully Bluetooth?

Your last post made me think about the problem in a different way and I did some more poking in the system.

My goal was simple, being able to transfer files from one phone or another Tablet at the Aspire, and it was the problem because the connection was not the transfer did not follow.

I found the way to do it and also discovered that there may be some kind of problem of firmware or software with the device, but it can still be done.

    Solution:

    -Bluetooth must be turned on

-Pair of devices (matching initiated from Aspire), connection will not remain, but it does not matter

    -Go to the office

-Right click on icon (taskbar) Bluetooth and get the Ribbon options

--Select receive a file in the menu (new Panel opens)

-And send your file from your other device on the Aspire

Now, normally when you send a file to the Aspire, the Aspire should normally give you an alert that another device tries to connect or try to transfer a file, but it doesn't (even with the bluetooth settings correctly configured for notifications).

If essantially, unless you call system by opening this Panel "to receive the file", the simple system refuses all incoming traffic and does not give you an alert to authorize the transfer. It starts the transfer, but disconnects because there is no authorisation. Open the file 'receive' is used the permission and can proceed with the transfer.

Thank you for your contributions and especially for the last one which made me think the problem from a different angle.

  • Disconnections of VPN with EA8500

Strange problem. Connect remotely via VPN to the office. Whenever an explosion of data traffic on my home network to any user (for example start-up Skype or streaming, or even log) my VPN interrupts the connection (reason code 631 - port disconnected by the user). This behavior is completely reproducible. I can reconnect the VPN and continue working until another burst of network traffic causes VPN to drop again. It is easy to see the relationship by running a continuous ping (-t) on the Desktop server when connected to the VPN.

Windows 7 PC, gigabit ethernet/WiFi at home and an EA8500 network. Internet connection is fiber 200 / 20 Mbps.

I spent weeks playing with the firewall settings, change the router settings, open ports and replace the network but the problem just disappeared when I replaced the Linksys with an older router. I returned all the firewall (Norton) PC back by default settings after changing routers and VPN remains stable.

Any thoughts or is it just a faulty EA8500 router?

  • 3 USB ports too shallow for USB 2 connections

I have a new HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 CTO. The laptop has two 3 USB ports (two USB 2 ports). Each device/device USB 2 cable I plug to one of the 3 USB ports plug far enough. The smallest movement of the appliance or the cable is disconnected from the system. What I've read, USB 2 connectors are supposed to work on 3 USB ports. Has anyone else seen elsewhere? If so, were you able to solve the problem?

I solved the problem, but do not know why the solution worked. I decided that if the USB 2 connector does not far enough in Socket 3 USB, the USB 2 connector should be too long. I took a junker USB cable and filed down to the upper part of the connector. When I inserted in socket USB 3, he went inside. I unplugged the junker and plugged the cable USB 2 of origin. It went as if by magic at bottom! I tried the USB cable in the USB 3 port 2nd and he went only all 3/4ths of the way. Plugged my junker cable into the port, disconnected the junker and plugged the unmodified USB cable... and it went all the way. The two ports are now (at least with USB 2 devices). Couldn't tell you what a shortcut connector plug has to do with but fixing it.

It is a problem with the TC model AC. We do not know the cause, but he just has problems with a number of different cable modems. (others are also affected, but cable seems the problem of principle).

What is happening is the WAN constantly talk to the modem port.

There is nothing you can do... neither is defective... they are simply not happy punks when together.

The solution is to replace one or the other...

Around here people seem to think to replace the modem a better idea... the zoom model seems to be working... but check with Cox is in their list of supported modems.

  • Peripheral PnP USB - muted, is unplug sound when not touched, "device not recognized" or a malfunction, etc...

Here is an exhaustive list I hope what happens (it's the Microsoft forums, so I think you guys are going to read a lot of information):

    • The sound on my PnP USB audio device cancels randomly without any reason. It is not to be touched at all, and often happens when I'm even not listen to all the sounds.
    • Before he died, it emits a blur in the helmet noise as it is to be disconnected or the cord is cut or something. I have to unplug it and plug it back several times to make it work.
    • It has been for several months, working properly, this month started anything, for about a week.
    • I can't use my headset because it is loose. I had the USB key to solve this problem, because it's too expensive get taking fixed. I did not buy the device at first hand, I got it from a family member who took my laptop in for repair and the guy he recommended and we sold two of these jacks.
    • When it goes off during a game, I can't sound to return. Sometimes I can fix it on a game (as Portal 2, for example) by going to options and change the type of sound (or any) what's called it headphones to speakers, then back to the helmet. However, the game freezes often when the sound goes off and I have to remove the usb key, and in this case the game should also be repeated. In addition, everything has sound options like that.
    • This happens randomly, but it tends to happen every five minutes or every few seconds, and coincidentally it almost always happens during a loading on a video game screen.
    • It is not always give me a warning sound, especially on the games. He's just quiet.
    • Device Manager does not display a point of exclamation or question marks next to any audio device and the key USB pnp is indicated correctly. In the options of the sound in the Control Panel, there is of the sound bars next to the USB key that indicates that his is read, but it is not in playback mode. The USB pnp is listed as default device, so don't tell me to do. The microphones are turned off as well.
    • It does the same thing in all my usb ports.
    • The driver is up-to-date and meant for Windows 7.
    • I do not install the Windows updates. Updates are bad.
    • Box for what he calls a "USB stereo Audio Adapter external" StarTech.com, or "ICUSBAUDIO". It came with a disc that I used to install the driver, and I went on their website to get one for Windows 7 specifically and installed.
    • I use a computer laptop 64 bit Windows 7. In Device Manager, there are three things listed under sound: Realtek High Definition Audio Intel (r) display Audio and USB PnP Sound Device. None of the USB devices have exclamation points.
    • For the first time today, when the usb unplug sound, my computer tells me "Device not recognized" and said it could have malfunctioned. When I clicked on it for more information, he said that he could not tell me what the usb was even because it was not plugged in, which was not true. I also had a window appears which has tried to install the device driver (already installed) and then was told that the unit had been disconnected before he could do (not true). It just happened, for the second time today a few seconds ago.

  • HP Deskjet D1320

I have a problem that aid is not able to resolve. I got a new printer (an hp Deskjet D1320) at Christmas time last year (2007). At the point where I had a Dell Dimensions 866r with Windows XP Home Edition on it. This computer went south this last June. So I bought a new Compaq Presario with Windows Vista on it. I plugged my printer and everything worked. Including the solution, with the Toolbox inside Center. Last Monday my printer suddenly stop working. I had to uninstall, and then reinstall it. Then I had to go online to get the drivers for it, just to get the operational printer. Now I don't have the Solution Center. The icon is on my desltop and when I click on it I get this error message:

"Parsing error in HP Imaging\bin\hpqscloc\1033.xml C:\Program". When I click on the button 'ok' for this error message, the main screen to the Solution Center appears.

When I click on the button that normally leads me to the Toolbox (which is empty, as in no icon or text), buttons menu void come (which incidentally are also empty). How can I fix it?  The installation CD supplied with the printer, when inserted, says that the CD is not compatible with Vista. in other words, he's too old.

  • thin horizontal black line down page what scan on HP Officejet Pro 8600 more

I've owned an HP Officejet Pro 8500 and scan was perfect.  I recently bought a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.

When I scan from the ADF HP 8600, I get a thin (several pixel wide) black along the lower edge of the analysis that results.  This line will be sometimes slightly twisted or appear only through half of the page, in which case, it tends to become thicker towards the edge of the page).  According to me, this line is an artifact of the analysis of the edge at the bottom of the original document.  I think it is to show where the bottom edge of the page was when parsing.  If the document is that a little offset, then the black line down will be a little twisted, probably following the edge of the page.  This issue is consistent and reproducible.  It is in the mode "Scan mail" and in mode 'Scan To Network Folder.

When I scan from the flat bed, I get a very narrow black line along the side of the analysis resulting very superior, but the background seems in good condition (although I have not tested this widely).

These fine black lines occurred when scanning the HP 8500.

I wonder if there is a setting to adjust it, or if it is a firmware difference between printers needs debugging.

    Hey KenAlker,

There are a few things I want to check if you have lines when scanning using the 8600. I see that mention you that lines appear both through ADF and flat glass. There may be something both of the glass sections used by this printer, but more often that otherwise, this isn't the case.

I would check if the printer is connected to a surge protector. If this is the case, then try plugging the 8600 in a direct outlet. Often the surge protector can cause this problem appears because the printer has a built.

    Also, try a hard reset:
    * Unplug the unit while the
Disconnect the other end of the wall socket direct
    * Wait 30-60 seconds
    * Plug the unit to the top

Also, try to take a look at the steps in the document found here.

    I hope this helps.

  • remove usb

Hi, I use a USB6211 with windows XP, LabVIEW 2009. The onboard on a measuring device that the user must be plugged in when they want to take action and then remove once the measures have been made. The user will be repeated several times over the duration of the trial.

I wrote a code that determines when the device is plugged or unplugged and this seems to work well, however I had a complete windows crash randomly and I wonder if this is due to the plug/unplug the USB device.

I had a search and the post below implies it is that it is safe to do so, however, I want to assure you that this will not cause me a problem down the line.

    Any ideas?

Hi, thanks for the responses - the devcon utility could be useful to me in the future however, I managed to solve my problem as follows.

In my original code (figure 1) I tried to access the serial number of the device, which, if connected error return = FALSE. If an error has been detected that I would try again after 5 seconds, however if the device was connected/disconnected while communication was in progress windows would break.

I have now modified the code to check the names of active device (figure 2). If my device is not connected, then the search function will return the index = - 1. Because I'm no longer directly check the unit is is more important if the unit is connected/disconnected when checking.

  • String to number conversion problem

I have a VI that pulls in data from a device using VISA, and I got it on another computer to work a few weeks back. I had to transfer the VI to a laptop computer to run a few tests, and now I can't make it work. I am unable to put my VI because the laptop on it's is unable to access the network companies, I will do my best to explain it all, I apologize for the inconvenience! My problem is not however with VISA, it's with an exit VISA number conversion chain.

I have attached a painting drawing of VI to better explain it.

I use the block series Visa football match in baud rate and all that many good things to the unit and port settings set of device management. Then, a while loop is entered. The loop will run until you press the stop"" button. The next block of visa is the writing block, he asks for a reading of the device. The next block of visa is the first block of reading, he returns playback in the form of "NA-XXX. X' where x are numbers. The next block of visa is the second reading block, this block just echoes back the command sent to the device. Playback of the first visa read block, "NA-XXX. X' is going exponential/fractional chain to digital converter.

When you perform a run/debug to highlight run, the release of visa reports the correct value, is the value of the device reading - however the string to number converter generates a 0,000, no matter what channel number is. I am at a loss as to what may be wrong because it's the EXACT set up I had to work very well a few weeks ago!

I'm using Labview 10 on the laptop, the old computer was labview 7. I'm guessing that this is perhaps the rub... I Redid the VI from scratch, although I have not opened the old VI in labview 10.

Any help would be appreciated. Again, sorry I am unable to attach the VI.
