S1800-514: upgrade of the CD - RW drive

I have a Satellite S1800-514, equipped with a DVD-ROM SDC2502 player. I intend to upgrade to allow me to rewrite the CD does anyone have experience of this or information on the appropriate players. I saw a Toshiba SD-R2512 on ebay, anyone know if it fits?

Hello

Unfortunately there is no public document or a compatibility list and it is not easy to give a precise answer, but I'm sure that it will work properly.

If you want to make a call to the service partner and ask them. They must have this information.

  • Install Windows 7 upgrade on the new hard drive?

I have the Windows 7 upgrade version that I installed last September, but a few days ago my hard drive died.  How do we install the version 7 upgrade on the new hard drive without using a previous version of windows on it?

In order to install the Windows 7 upgrade version, you must have a system of eligible operating Windows installed and activated.  You cannot install a version upgrade of Windows 7 on a drive blank.  The installation procedure you do not insert a Windows disk in the drive for verification, eligible operating system must be installed.

If you do not have a qualification system of operating Windows installed with an activated genuine license, then you can not use the version upgrade of Windows 7 - you would need a license of Windows 7 "full version".

    In summary:

    1. a Windows operating system to eligible address must be installed.
    2. the Windows operating system to eligible address must have a genuine license (product key) and it must be enabled.
    3. to upgrade, boot on the eligible Windows desktop, insert the Windows 7 upgrade disc in the DVD player.
    4. when the menu appears, select custom (advanced option) to a clean install procedure.

You should be able to repair the installation, if your installation one fall. I suggest create you a System Image (backup) of your installation of Windows 7 after installation of Windows 7 in order to spare you the trouble if your computer one fall in the future.

You can work around this two ways, I would suggest that you create a System Image (backup) of your installation of Windows 7 after installation of Windows 7 in order to save you the trouble if your computer loses the system failure or instability. Since you are in possession of a valid license of Windows Vista for this computer, you can use the following method to do a clean install with upgrade support:

You cannot use an upgrade disc to install an OS on a new hard drive.

You could clone the old hard drive to the new hard drive using a program like Macrium reflect free

  • Latitude D810 PATA for upgrade of the SATA HARD drive

I have a laptop Dell Latitude D810, with an ATX hard disk controller interface (at least it is what I was told that I have, in addition the Linux kernel reports ATX so), but the installed hard drive is a Hitachi Travelstar 7 K 100 60 GB: HTS721060G9AT00, which a Ultra ATA drive with IDE interface. It connects to the motherboard with a Foxconn adaptor (p/n 59PJA). I have two questions:

    1. How can I be sure that I actually have an ATX interface for hard disks in my laptop?

2 if I do, can I get an adapter to connect the hard drive to the ATX system board?

  • Satellite A60: Question about upgrade from the CD - RW drive

I have a laptop A60 sitting with a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive. I want to upgrade to a CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive. I understand that I have the choice between UJDA 750 and the SD-R2512. Someone can offer a preference and I need firmware / drivers for these to work?
Is it simply a matter of just replacing the unit?

    Thank you.

    Hello

I assume that the best idea is to have the DVD burner. In this case, there is possibility to burn CDs and DVDs all formats. I found the info A60 also comes with super-multi drive (TEAC DV-W24E) and this should be also compatible with your A60.

For the feature, the firmware is not relevant as the compatibility of the player.

  • HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition: upgrade of the current HARD drive

I have HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition laptop which currently has a 1 to 5400 RPM HARD drive. I'm looking to upgrade to SSD drive and need help with the following responses

    (1) the laptop does support more than 512 GB since the laptop computer maintenance document lists (and does not) support max 512 GB

    (2) any 2.5 SATA 3 SSD should work with the configuration given my laptop as long as its not more than 9.5 mm thick. Please confirm.

I was chatting and asking for a response for the last month 1 HP support and I have not received a positive response. Forums suggest that capacity any no where like the cat and people on HP customer service gave the following answer.

The manual list only up to 512 GB because that's all there was when the laptop was sold or just would not be a market for the 1 TB SSD. Not too long ago, they were $7-800 and beyond almost anyone means. But there is no reason that your laptop can not run a 1 TB SSD. Also, you are right. All SATA 2.5 inch wide SSD will work as long as it's not more than 9.5 mm thick. These days, almost all of them are 7 mm. I would recommend a Samsung 850 Evo but there are a lot of good ones out there. We had a set of trouble on the series MX Crucial reports, however.

  • Upgrade of the 12 latitude drive

Is the SSD to the latitude of 12 7275 of the same type of player than the xps 12 specification? I have a xps 12 that I had upgraded to a larger ssd and it is irreparably broken. Rather than replace it, I thought the latitude 12 instead. So I was wondering if I could use the player to upgrade the drive in the 7275.

This will be a PCIe m2 model that can take the most recent system.

It seems not too difficult to change the disk in this model.

  • The upgrade of the storage Appasure drives

I have an Appasure camera with 12 discs of 600GO. They are 85% full and I need to increase the size of available storage. I also have a second remote system reproducing the main unit. Storage in the main unit is in two tables. Can I replace each table with larger disks and rebuild the replicated copy recovery points?

What is the recommended way to upgrade capacity?

    Hi GlennMark,

If you use a serial device Dell DL (DL1000, 4000 or 4300) you cannot increase the capacity of repository without first ensuring you have the right, according to the capacity purchased license.  For example, if you purchased initially licensed 5 TB of capacity of the device, but now require 10TBs, you'll need to buy another license of 5 TB and extend the storage capacity of repository using a tablet of MD.  Impossible to replace the drives in the system.

Extending the repository is covered with these measures within the basic UI AppAssure: www.dell.com/.../Adding-a-storage-location-to-an-existing-repository-; lang = en - us

If you have your own AppAssure database server and choose to replace larger capacity disks, your roadmap for the reconstruction of the RAID and reverse replication replication is a good method to accomplish the task.

  • Upgrade to a Satellite 1805-514 with a CPU and HARD drive

    Hello

Several years ago I bought the laptop mentioned above. Unfortunately, the laptop no longer starts because of a damaged hard drive.
Now I'm looking for a replacement. My dealer offered me several hard disks with a capacity of 40 GB to 80 GB. 1805-514 does support large hard drives?

In addition my dealer gave me a 1, 13ghz Pentium 3 mobile. Does make sense to replace a processor 1 Ghz Celeron with a 1, 13 Ghz P3?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English

    Samson74

    Hello

In my opinion, it makes no sense to upgrade the processor 1 GHz to 1.13 GHz to form
The difference between these two processors is not high and you have no sensation of the increase in the performance of the laptop.

I put t know compatible hard drives for Satellite 1805 but for Satellite 1800. But these two units are very similar.
As far as I know, you can use the 10 GB, 15 GB, 20 GB and 30 GB.
I think that the BIOS will not recognize the larger HARD drive.

    Hello!

If you need drivers for Satellite S1800 you must look in the * archives * on the Toshiba site:

I think you mean the touchpad, not cushion Tracker ;)

  • Satellite Pro M10 - the (original) display driver upgrade?

    Hello

is it possible to upgrade my display driver on my laptop M10 with the original driver? I'm using the latest drivers nVidia Toshiba (36,48) but NVIDEA has already more recent upgrades, but it will not recognize the my graphic card and refer to the use of Toshiba drivers.

Any way to install the original NVIDIA driver instead of the Toshiba driver?

    Thanks for the help
    Andreas

    Hello Andreas

I put really don't know if it is possible to install the original NVIDIA driver but it is recommended to use the driver provided by Toshiba. The reason is very simple. This kind of restriction is done to save the cell damage equipment. As you know the cooling of the hardware components is not so easy and.

Because of this, he cannot allow that this graphics card works with maximum power. In this case, it produces a lot of heat and it may happen that the card may be damaged or the laptop turns off due to overheating. If there is a message that the card is not there it's just a mechanism of protection, and there is no way that the hardware may be damaged. Believe me the repair costs are very high.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite P10: Question about the limits of upgrade of RAM and HARD drive

What are the limits to upgrade my laptop Satellite P10? Currently, I use 1 GB of RAM (2 x 512) and I still have the original 60 GB 4200 RPM HARD drive. I'm mainly interested in upgrading my hard drive to at least get a 7200 RPM 100 GB disc. Better would be one of the ones 24 hours server as Hitachi HTE721010G9AT00, I have just turned off my computer. Which one to take and are there limits (BIOS) (keeping in mind that there will be 200 and even the 250 GB drives next year)?

RAM: should I put two 200pin SO-DIMM 333 or 533 or should not change at all as it works very well and stabil now?

    Hello

In my eyes you should follow the guidance of Toshiba line and must use the memory modules that are recommended in the user guide. But if you can also try to test with 400 Mhz or 533 Mhz. I think that each dealer notebook or memory could do that.

I think the BIOS might be able to handle the hard drive with capacity of 30 GB / 40 GB / 60 GB / 80 GB, Bus Master IDE with ultra DMA 100 synchronous
In my opinion the BIOS does not recognize the larger HARD drive.

  • The upgrade on Pavilion 9667ea hard drive to SSD

I think the upgrade my computer laptop 9667ea Pavilion by replacing the first hard drive of 160 GB with an SSD, as the Cruicial M500 240 GB SATA 111, or similar.

Could you tell me if there are problems in doing this, because I see no other posted messages it may be according to the model of your laptop?

I advanced and bought the SSD (Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB), which has been installed on the HP Pavilion dv9667ea. Everything went well and I used the Samsung software cloning with the SSD drive (I backed up the C drive beforehand). I have power and data cables, so I need just the package base. The new 250 GB SSD drive replaces the original 160 GB hard drive, I decided to take out the other drive so hard 160 GB. The laptop is much faster at startup and is also faster by using the programs on the laptop. As there are now no hard drives on the laptop, there is now virtually no fan noise, which was inconvenient.

    Thank you for your advice.
