S2340M not recognized, cannot set an appropriate resolution

We have a user who is using a laptop dell and docking station.  "She was just an external monitor (lenovo 23") and we have recently added just on the other, the 23 Dell ' S2340M - in display settings, it shows up as a monitor generic PnP and we are unable to set the correct screen resolution.  When you try to install the drivers from the CD that came with the monitor, it is said that there is no dell monitor detected and the drivers will not be isntalled.

I removed the card graphics, restarted, and he came upward as no generic PnP and allow me to set the size of appropriate resolution.  However, he only let me duplicate monitors, not extend them.  Using the dell CD once again, he might not, always recognizes the Dell monitor.  Finally windows automatically re-installed the other graphics card, I was able to extend the monitors instead of both copies, but the Dell returned to the generic PnP and will not let me set the appropriate resolution.

I also tried to use or monitor in various combinations of VGA and DVI ports.

The S2340M must be connected directly to the laptop through its video cable. The driver must be installed from the Web site, not the CD. The S2340M should appear in the Device Manager. Once done, both turned off. Connect the S2340M to the dock. Dock the computer. Turn on the monitor, then the laptop. The S2340M should always appear in the Device Manager. Connect the monitor Lenovo to the wharf and set up.

  • Windows 7 sees my second monitor as "generic non - PnP" and will not let me set the correct resolution

    Hello

I just installed Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on a new hard drive on my Dell Studio 540. The PC has a graphics card ATI Radeon HD 3450 and has a Samsung 226bw 22 "monitor on the digital output. This works very well, and has the resolution of 1650 x 4050. When I am running Vista (on the previous hard drive), I got a monitor flat 14 "old on the other out, and it worked fine (although at a lower resolution).

I added a monitor AOC F22s + on the other output, expecting to be able to put this to the recommended 1920 x 1080 resolution. Unfortunately, Windows has developed the driver for this monitor "Generic non - PnP" and will not let me set the correct resolution. To the maximum it will allow is 1600 x 1200, (as well as all other resolutions it allows) do not use the monitor at maximum capacity, which is the ratio of evil anyway, so the display seems tense.

I run Windows Update, so have the latest drivers. I tried to install the other drivers, but nothing helped.

I tried to unplug the Samsung monitor and restart the PC, so that the AOC, one was the only monitor it and he always had as 'Generic non - PnP' with the wrong resolution.

Someone at - it ideas? I'm at my wits end. AOC support did not understand and could only suggest that the monitor was faulty, but the place where I bought it insist that it works very well and so no Exchange or get a refund (no restocking fee, which is a RIP-OFF).

I really want to use both screens and would appreciate greatly any help that anyone can give. I hope I gave enough information. If I didn't, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance,

    Alan

    PROBLEM SOLVED!

It turned out that my VGA cable was wrong and that it was not send the right signal to the computer. The screen worked fine with a VGA monitor, but the PC has not said that the new monitor is a PnP I tried a different cable and it worked fine.

Thanks again to all who have suggested things.

  • Portege Z30 - A - 18 M - cannot set the native resolution on the external display

    Hello

I tried to connect two different displays full HD to my Portege Z30 - A - 18 M and I was unable to set the native resolution - maximum resolution I can put for those is 1680 x 1050... I was not so surprised by the first that I had a few problems with a native resolution when I connect to the laptop computer Satellite I had before. But then the same thing happened when I tried the other view.

I thought that this notebook can handle a higher resolution external... Is there a way to force the native resolution of the external display in Windows 7?
    Thank you!

Just a question: have you plugged your Portege with HDMI cable and use only the HDMI option?
With other words went from the desktop to the external display only computer?

I don't have this machine, but I think you should be able to see the desktop on an external device to the HD full 1920 x 1080 resolution.

  • DVD - ROM not recognized with setting of M/S

Hello, I just bought a DVD SD-R2412 drive to replace my dead drive (same model). However, my old drive was CSEL type and this news is M/S. I didn't know there were differences in the same model. This new drive is not recognized by Windows XP (SP2) and disappear the second IDE controller. In addition, it is not possible to boot from the CD, so I guess that the BIOS is also not recognize the drive.

I saw an exchange of views on the reverse (CSEL M/S, new old) and some solutions for this case, but I have not seen all the comments on my problem.

My guess is that the drive is configured as a slave and the BIOS is not able to recognize in this position. If so, the question would be if there is a way to configure the drive M/S to act as a master.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Hello

It will be very interesting to know what unit of Toshiba you have. As far as I know, the drive is already set to slave, but I put now on exactly the position of the rider. However, take a look on the label which is located on the drive. You can find a picture how to affect the small rider master or slave.

  • Satellite M30-104 - cannot set a good resolution on external monitor

    Hello world

    I have a Satellite M30-104 with a nvidia GeForce FX5200.
This works well but when I plug in an external monitor, which is a widescreen 1440 * 900, I can not put the correct resolution, even if I install the latest driver.

    What can I do?

    Thank you

    Hello

First of all you must check in your manual if your graphics card would support such a resolution external.

But note; you will not be able to select this resolution if the graphics driver doesn t contains, although this resolution would be supported by the graphics card.

As you can see two facts are important: driver graphics and graphics card can support this resolution if you want to use.

    Welcome them

  • Cannot set the screen resolution to 64-bit on windows 7 64-bit edition.

So, I bought a laptop with windows 7 64 bit is installed. I rolled back my driver after a few months to fix a crash on a game I was playing. I'm running a nvidia geforce gtx 260 m. Under the nvidia Control Panel, I see I can use 32-bit resolution. I updated the driver and I checked the other updates. However, I can not yet use 64-bit color. How can I set it so I can use 64-bit?

    Thanks in advance!

'64 bit,' in this context, describes your mother/CPU card and your
    version of Windows.

"64-bit color," in this context, describes how many different colors
can be displayed. This is a * completely * different question of the
mother/CPU card and Windows version question above. The number of colors
that can be displayed depends on your video card and how much
memory, there is on this topic. If it has all video cards that can make 64-bit
color, I don't know of them. It would be a waste, in any case, since your
eyes could not distinguish that many colours. Still 32 bits
color can provide over 4 billion different colors.

    > However, I still can't use 64-bit color. How can I set it so I can use 64-bit?

You can not and not need to. There is no advantage to do so.

  • I uninstalled my laptop vista & installed XP now the internnet does not work, cannot set up

Unable to connect to the internet after re install Xp.  excellent signal level.

Are you really connected to the wireless, and that's how you know that the signal is good?

If you are connected but internet is not working, or you are having trouble authentication you may need to install Service Pack 3 for Windows XP. In my view, WPA wireless security is not introduced to Windows XP up to Service Pack 3.

To test this, log into your router from another system or connect directly to it and set up the WEP security. If you can connect and authenticate correctly that is the question.

    I hope this helps!

  • Cannot set the native resolution

    Hello

I have Dell Vostro 200 and recently upgraded to Windows 7. Since the upgrade, I can't resolve native resolution for my monitor (1680 x 1050), the above, I can go is 1280 x 800. Before the upgrade and have Windows XP, everything worked fine. I tried to get the driver for video motherboard (I use an integrated video card), but can't seem to find the right driver. Can someone suggest a solution for this?

    Thank you!

  • Windows 7 detection as a generic non - PnP monitor, cannot set 16:10 resolutions.

After the reboot, I noticed my resolution has been reset and when I went to go put my Native resolution. I discovered that it wasn't on the list more, and that it has detected it as a 'generic Non - PnP monitor '. Updated video card, CCC, he admits to 1680 x 1050 60 Hz max resolution.

Video card is an ATI Radeon HD 5750, Monitor is a 20.1 "Soyo MT - NI - DYLM2086 DVI.

    Drivers Vista will also work.

Cannot set the resolution 1368 x 768 on connected usung Sub - D LCD TV Samsung 32R72
There is no resolution 1368 x 768 in the available resolution list.

The graphics card hardware support different screen resolutions, but if the driver doesn't contain this resolution of the screen so that you cannot choose it.
I think so you re not able to choose this special resolution on the external display.

In my opinion it has nothing to do with the graphics card or with the screen, but only with the graphics driver.

  • Tecra A4: Cannot set the resolution of 1280 x 800

    Hi all.

I have a Tecra A4, and for the last 2 days I am trying set up the screen at native resolution of 1280 x 800, without sucssess.

I try a lot of things, like updating drivers, use the restoration of the system, the value 'stretch' in the BIOS, etc, but this resolution do not appear on the display settings (I use XP SP2). I've only 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768.

In any of these resolutions, a wide black border appear to the right of the screen. A small border appears on the bottom, too.

Please, how can I solve this problem? I don't want to use the Toshiba restore, some programs I use are very difficult to find and install.

    Thank you.

You cannot set this resolution if this resolution of 1280 x 800 is not part of the display driver.
The graphics card driver contains all available resolutions and if one is missing, I mean not rated, it s not able to select

  • Satellite L505 - 14 d - Starcraft II - cannot set the resolution of 1366 x 768

I recently bought this laptop, it has an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5165 HyperMemory graphics card, however, when I installed the game Starcraft II, and tried to change my graphics settings, told me that my video (could say graph, or display card, I do not remember) card was not recognized, and that I might want to check this... I thought, well, that there is probably no problem, as long as everything works fine, but the problem is this; This isn't. I'm unable to set the resolution of 1366 x 768, which is the maximum resolution of the computer normally. The maximum resolution that I can put in this game is 1280 x 768...

This starts to become quite annoying, not a HUGE issue by any means, but still, I would like to get this issue resolved. ;)

My apologies if you have problems to understand what I mean here, that English isn't my mother tongue. Do not hesitate to ask me if you need clarification on anything whatsoever.

Are you able to set the resolution of 1366 x 768 laptop s display settings?

If Yes, then I guess that this has nothing to do with the laptop but with the game settings.
Maybe the game is unable to use a higher resolution because of the pilot or the graphics card compatibility.

I played a lot of games in the past on my laptop and to be honest game display settings have nothing to do with the general display resolution settings. My laptop resolution is 1400 x 1050, but the different games are available at 1024 x 768 due to the better performance

  • U2515H monitor HDMI output cannot be set to the resolution of 2560 x 1440

    Hello

I just bought two u2515h monitor at Dell.

I have a PC with a graphics card ATI Radeon HD 5800, who have 1 HDMI port, 1 port DP and 2 DVI ports.

So I have no possibility to use two DP, I connected the first monitor (u2515h) with mDP to DP cable included in the package of the monitor. I put the resolution of 2560 X 1440, without any problem with the DP connection.

However, when I try to install the second monitor (u2515h) with HDMI to HDMI connection, I am only able to set a maximum resolution of 2048 X 1152. There is black space around the screen and the appearance of the fuzzy text, so I'm going in the CCC of ATI to increase the size to 0%, after doing some research online. He has only to enlarge the office. The monitor is still not able to use it is (2560 X 1440) max resolution via HDMI to HDMI connection, and the text are still unclear.

I don't know what is the problem here, so I tell myself to ask the forum to see what I would do. Here are a few thoughts that I could solve the problem, please let me know how to solve this problem, as the lower resolution with a blurry text really annoy me for the second monitor.

    Specifications:
    -OS: Windows 7 64-bit
    -Motherboard: P7P55D PRO
-Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 5800
-Monitor Setup: extend monitor Setup with two u2515h
(1st with CDM [monitor] DP [PC] connection: max res 2560 x 1440)
(2nd with HDMI to HDMI [PC] [monitor] connection: rest max 2048 x 1152)

    Problem:
-Failed to set maximum resolution for the second monitor with HDMI connection.
-Blurry text with the second monitor

    Possible solution:
-I don't know if the port HDMI to u2515h resolution 2560 x 1440, or if it is the problem of cable?
-Should I buy an mDP to HDMI cable so that the monitor can connect to my graphics card HDMI port? (If the problem is the HDMI are not support to set max res)
-If the worst case scenario, I need to replace my graphics card? If so, can which option I find? I have an old motherboard P7P55D PRO

Please help me to solve this problem, I really not sure what should I do, I better get some tips before buying anything useless to solve this problem.

    Thank you very much!

U2515H HDMI is capable of 2560 x 1440. We need a resolution "custom" in the display of video card settings. I do not have these instructions AMD Ati and do not recommend to do because it involves changes to registry.

A simple HDMI DP cable video card will not work. Those who aim to do the opposite.
"Video card DP to HDMI monitor".

There are active converters for HDMI DP video card to listen to, but they are not resolution 2560.

My suggestion is to get another video card that has both DP and CDM ports.
