  Suggest you download and save the fix it.

  Then close all open programs and browsers before running MS fix 50686.msi.

  I'm a student in computer engineering at the University of Waterloo 1A, and I run a very serious problem with my HP Envy 15 "TouchSmart laptop computer running Windows 8.1.   Before I had my MATH 117 conference (Calculus 1 Engineering), I was in a nearby lab where my laptop was open and turned, works correctly. I've had NetBeans IDE running since I wanted to work on the second part of my current assignment of CS 137 (principles of programming).   If you have windows 8.1 on it then it looks like the update of kb2903939 killed. I fight with this problem since Christmas.

  Power cycle the cell several times without leaving start completely. It should bring up a screen of recovery. If you can find the path to start safe mode, you can uninstall kb2903939 and then restart. That fixed my problem.

  Otherwise, it should be a call to HP or Microsoft support.

  I have a Satellite m50d-a-103, which takes place in Ubuntu.

  The operating system crashed recently. I'm not sure if the laptop off really or not. But the screen is dark, and the laptop does not start when you press the power button.

  For the white flashing indicator power, it is said: "Indicates that the computer is in mode 'sleep' and that there is enough available power (mains or battery adapter) to maintain this State."

  So I guess that my initial assumption may be correct. I still don't know not how out of fashion "before" however.
