S50 satellite - B - 15 p increasignly uneven screen hinges.

When I first got this laptop I've read a lot of bad reviews with about the stiffness and strength of the hinge of the screen on this laptop, there are many complaints about the wrong version of these hinges and many people know they broke up in the first year to get the laptop, despite taking great care when opening it.

Take this information into consideration I took great care when you lift the lid. I've had this laptop for not even 3 months, and the left hinge has become quite substantially uneven.

When the lid is closed, the left side of the cover fits up to 2cm of the body, while the right side of the cover is more or less on par with the body, as it should.

I activated my free 1 year warranty a few weeks ago.

What can I do about it?

You talk about unwanted material...

I recommend to local ASP contact and check if this problem could be solved...

I'm sure that the ASP would be able to provide good assistance

  • Tecra M1 screen hinges

I have a Tecra M1 and when I put the screen hinges on both sides are trying to die in the back of the box under the speaker housings. Does anyone know of a repair for this? I probably can supply replacement hinge (s) but could use instructions for repair. Did a search before posting, but nothing only shows that I've seen a similar problem on another forum that has not been answered.

    Any help much appreciated

I had long ago Tecra M1 at the office but I ve never had this problem so I m really, ask yourself what the problem is here.
I imagine you can find parts for this old Tecra on eBay but the problem is that the maintenance manual is not a public document and you won't find it online.

You have friends who have good knowledge on PC and laptop computers that can help you with this?

  • S50 satellite - cannot get Toshiba welcome screen

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite S50, it s around the age of 6 months. Now, when I turn it on all I get is the screen "Toshiba leading innovation" and that s it.

It doesn t go past, stay right there. I can't get into the bios, I don't have the original hard drive came with the laptop, I have a 500 GB 2.5 "Toshiba hard drive. I want to put my windows hard disk 8.
I ve created a bootable USB key with windows 8, set the laptop to boot from USB, changed to the UEFI BOOT, but nothing happens when I restart the laptop. Just on the screen "Toshiba leading innovation.

Any ideas that I can do or is the motherboard tired?
I m assuming that the guarantee is by the original window as the hard drive is not in my possession, as the original owner he went out as he had his private data on it. Toshiba will fix this for me?

I want only to make this Toshiba screen... but no joy...

    Hi Billy,

In the BIOS you also enabled "Secure Boot" under "Security" options in the BIOS, WIndows 8.1 requires for it to be activated.

Also your warranty depends on if the disc is "User Accesible" - did you to remove the bottom cover together to change the HARD drive or just remove a door? If you had only to remove a door you will not have cancelled your warranty because it is a part of the user accessible, if the HARD drive is the cause of the problem that you will be charged for the repair, if the motherboard is the cause that you shouldn't pay.

    Hope this helps,
    Z

  • S50 satellite - B 15 P - Fans running at high speed and system crash

    Hello

I have a new SATELLITE S50 - B 15, i7-5500U, 8 GB Ram, SSD etc., IV and v have some problems with it.

for unknown reasons the CPU fan starts to operate at high speed, even if the temperature of the CPU hit is not 35%.
It also froze about 10 times since I got it (April this year).

The only way to make it work again would be me to hold the power button down until stop and start it back up.
Once launched upward there is no mention of potential problems in the newspapers of events other than the forced closure.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced problems?

    Thank you

    Chris

The only way to make it work again would be me to hold the power button down until stop and start it back up.

Forcing order restores the fan activity and performance?
Hmm it sounds like there must be some sort of system emits probably the bottom of some process locks the CPU and therefore increases the activity of the fan.

You could start the the Task Manager and in the process tab, you will find all background applications that would appeal to the CPU.
Click the CPU column to display all the processes of loading the CPU.

However, you can also try to change the option of cooling method that is available in Windows Advanced Power options.
Go to control panel → power options.
Click here on the power plan that is currently in use.
Then click on advanced power options and access the cooling method.
Here you can change it from active to passive.

In addition, you can decrease the status of CPU max at 90-05%

  • Z930-119 satellite crashes in hibernate with black screen - reset?

My Satellite laptop was working fine until I closed the lid during the boot process (no doubt).

Since then, the screen is white/black, although I can change with the power button between "operation", including HD, WLAN activity and alternative (long press) 'Hibernate' with a fading power symbol of the operation.

I tried all the combinations of keys, power, FN + F5, FN + F8, long-press-button etc. There is no output signal to the external VGA connector. I haven't reached any change at all.

    All I need is something like a * hardware-reset *.
There is no easy way to remove the battery as shown in the internet.

You have any suggestions or tricks like "press xy and uv.." or similar to produce a true the hardware reset to make the device from the beginning?

I can't believe that a product sophisticated as the Satellite Z930 has no provision for restart in the event of a software failure. In some cases, things like this happen in real life.

    Hello

As far as I know that you need remove the bottom cover just to get access to the battery.

Here is a video on Youtube:
    [Toshiba How - to's: Z930 and Z935 disassembly Instructions | http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSmEhiK3Njs]

But I recommend trying something different.
Did connect you the external monitor to the laptop just to check if something would be seen on the 2nd screen?
    Do this.

Where nothing could be seen on the 2nd monitor that you could try to remove the battery and press and hold the power button / 30 sec long.
Not quite sure if it would be useful, but in some cases this procedure could help the reactivation of the unit again.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - 15A - Windows XP screen white when the cover is open

    Hey,.

So when I closed the lid on my laptop for a while and then reopen the lid, the screen remains white (black). The only way I found to get back on the screen is to re-boot.
In power management, I put 'Status quo' for when I close the lid on my computer and power management is ' Always on '.

I have the latest Bios and updates to the system.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hi ib1.

You use the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba or is it your own installation?

What to update the display driver? Take a look at the Toshiba page for the new display driver:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Don t forget to look in the * archives * on Toshiba page because this model is a little older, so all of the downloads are moved in archive.

  • Satellite Pro M10: image on the screen is very dark

I have a portable Satellite Pro M10, which has a black screen, i.e. the backlight does not work. There is an image on the screen, but it is very dark. When you connect an external monitor, I get a normal picture on this screen.

Information from other messages here, I conclude that there is a problem with the backlight of the lcd screen or the inverter. I checked all connections, but it does not solve the problem. If I bring the laptop to a service center how much it will cost about for repair? The thing is 2-3 years, so if it is very expensive I could better get a new laptop.

I'm sure I'll be able to change the inverter Board myself, but how am I going to be able to determine that the inverter is the problem? How to get a new inverter? Is anyone of you know the number of good product?

My Pro M10 itself has PS630E-G205Z-OF product number.

    Hello

I agree with Tobi. You sounds description as a faulty FL inverter.
This part is placed behind the LCD screen under the lid.
As mentioned this part isn t very expensive and you could order the partner of Toshiba service in your country. But be aware that if you have no experience of replacement if you ask technicians for assistance.

  • S50 satellite - A - 10 H - new battery

    Hello!

My Toshiba Satellite S50 battery - A - 10 H becomes really low and Toshiba Health Monitor also told me the same thing and I would like to replace it.

Now my question is: what battery is correct for this model? I did not find the details on the page of the manufacturer or google and you want not to blindly order any battery.

    Thanks in advance!

When you remove the battery, you can check the label and find the number on the right side on it.
I found the info that your laptop is LI - PR 4-3220 battery inside.

Problem is that the battery is under the lower lid for the battery Exchange should be done by an authorized only partner.

  • Satellite A300 - "password" on the splash screen

Hello, I have a problem with my Satellite A300-14 PSAJ0E-00W00PSK.

    * Screen with input "Enter password" appears every time when I turn it on can guess when I put wrong password 3 times, my laptop turns off. I had installed windows 7 with ubuntu for 2 years with no problems, but I can't boot any operating system present (even when I boot with the CD/DVD inserted with windows/ubuntu).

    * When can I get correct password? Or there is another solution to this problem? *

Thank you for all the advice!

I assume that your laptop is locked with BIOS password.
BIOS password can be set only but I put t understand your situation.
You have blocked your notebook with BIOS password or someone did it without your knowledge.
Do you have an explanation for this situation.

In any case, if the BIOS password is not known to you, you must contact the nearest service Toshiba and ask for help. They can remove for you.

  • Satellite A500 - crackling sounds and blue screen

    Hey everybody.

I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite A500-19w about 4 days ago (today it is Sunday, March 7, 2010).

I had the sounds of crackling of my speakers which have been mentioned so many times in the forums, no real solution.
I also experienced the crash of the blue screen, that's already happened 7 times while I was not strongly using my newly buy laptop.
I'm not looking for a repair or a replacement, because I find it quite unacceptable to have to think about the errors, faults & fixes as much as the laptop is brand new.

What I want is a refund, but I'm not sure on how to do it.

I know that Toshiba has some sort of refund policy, but if someone can tell me exactly how it works, because I want to get rid of my laptop as soon as possible (I will not buy any more portable Toshiba, especially since I had some similar problems with my Qosmio f30).
If someone can give me some guidance, because I don't want to be mocked or used and cheated out of refund.
I bought my Toshiba in the Middle East (perhaps refund policies are different here).
    Thank you.

    Hi mihran.

If you want to pay off your laptop, you should talk with your computer store where you bought it. Only the can repay your laptop and not Toshiba directly.
Of course it is also depending on the country where you life, but normally you can pay within 14 days I think. So in your case I speak with the seller or give them a call. They explain how to do this.

But let me give you a little advice: regarding your problems with the crackling sound and blue screen I recommend that you contact an authorized service provider or ask a new A500 (this should be possible if you have only 4 days). Generally, I can say that a friend of mine has Satellite A500 and he is quite satisfied with her. This laptop has a great design equipped with new material for a good price. :)

  • Satellite P200 - minimizing on its own screens

    Hello

I just bought a laptop Satellite P200 - 1 K 8. I'm having a problem with the screen pages minimize while I'm surfing the net / opening files, etc at random times?
It's pretty frustrating - and I'm not sure if this is a Vista issue or the laptop itself?

Someone at - it experience of this or had the same problem?

Thank you very much in advance for your help with my question!

    Jay

Check the touch pad settings, go to control panel, Classic view - mouse, then player settings and click settings for the touchpad. Then go to the box 'type' and disable tapping.
"tapping" allows you to activate the touchpad to do different things when you tap the corners.

(at least it worked for me on a P200-1EE)
