can I use the AMD Phenom II X 4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4 GHz Socket AM3 125 w HDZ965FBGMBOX processor Quad-Core processor in my machine even tho, the power is much higher then in the "processor upgrade info" at the top?

It looks like the same mentioned in the upgrade info... but I just wanted to be sure.

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion Slimline s5710f. According to the specification, this model supports the following processors;

Max TDP: 95W
Only Socket AM3 processors are supported with this motherboard.
AMD Phenom II X 6 Six-Core (core Thuban) 10xxT
AMD Phenom II X 4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (core Deneb)
AMD Phenom II X 3 Triple-Core (heart Heka) 7xx/7xxe
AMD Phenom II X 2 5xx (nucleus of Callisto)
AMD Athlon X 4 6xx/6xxe (undactylopodite)
AMD Athlon X 3 4xx/4xxe (Rana)
AMD Athlon X 2 2xx/2xxe (Regor)
1xx AMD Sempron Single Core (core Sargas)

As you can see, the TDP max for this model is 95 watts and the AMD Phenom II X 4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4 GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX is 125 watts. There is only two Phenom II X 4 965 CPU I know. Both are 'BE' or Black Edition which is not supported by the motherboard and two 125 watts or more, which is not supported by the motherboard.

So the really short answer is... NO, you cannot use the AMD Phenom II X 4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4 GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad - Core Processor in this computer HDZ965FBGMBOX.

Please send Bravo

  • HP Pavilion Slimline (HP s5000: I need more memory on my s5000 HP (HP s5710f))

I have had this machine for about 4 years and am currently running out of memory when in common applications such as Facebook.  The machine has 3 GB of memory on the motherboard that contains only 3 memory locations.  The maximum memory seems to be only 4 GB.

I need advice on what I should do next?  Analysis the new tablets in Office Depot I learned that most of them have about 12 GB of memory.  I suppost I shouldn't really that much but I would like to have at least 8 to 10 GB of main memory.  I can't do it on my current motherboard.  Is it better to just get a new machine or if I could install another motherboard that would be both mount my current box but also have enough connectors memory to support a higher total memory.

Thanks in advance for your help on this problem.

    Hello

If it's your PC S5710f, then there are only two available memory locations.  If you look at the specs of your PC, you will see that you can install two 4 GB DIMMS to bring the total memory up to 8 GB which works very well with the 64 bit OS in your PC.

If you want to increase the memory of your PC then buy two DIMMS to 4 GB corresponding to one of the following manufacturers.

The best way to avoid problems is to contact one of the major manufacturers of memory such as Kingston, Corsair and Crucial and use their tools of memory, then followed by a call to technical support to ensure that you have selected the DIMM that is appropriate for your PC. When you buy directly from the manufacturer, then they will remain behind the product to ensure compatibility.

  • Pavilion s5710f upgrade graphics card

I want to update the graphics card in my Pavilion Slimline s5710f.  It appears, reading of the form it is possible to upgrade, but I can not know what card would be a good choice.  It has a Radeon 3000 installed, and I know that the power supply is 220 watts.

I'm not a gamer, but I would like to play the new Diablo 3.  According to Blizzard my computer specs are ok, but my graphics card will probably be a problem.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    > There an installed Radeon 3000
It is the integrated chipset, see your listing:

With your diet, it will be difficult to find a graphics card that works.
And with your slimline box, it will be difficult to find a better diet, since you cannot use a standard PSU.

I can only tell you the same thing that other users here - a slimeline is no pc gamer - and you can't make a good.

Try to reduce the graphics settings of the D3 and test if it will run.

    Hello:

Here is the link to the page of product for your PC specifications.

    http://h22207.www2.HP.com/us-en/document/c02627981

It does not come with wireless networking capabilities, or this feature should have been included as well as the 10 Base T wired network specification.

The best thing to do to give your PC wireless networking capabilities would be to install an external usb wireless network adapter.

It's the one I use on two of my HP desktop PC.  It works with several OSes including Windows 10.

  • HP s5710f led failure indicator

The ' light ' has failed.

    Otherwise, the computer works fine.

The light is usually blue when the computer is turned on and amber tricks during the "sleep" mode

Problem now is that not knowing what computer mode causes unnecessary reboots (accidental), because the thought of current switch that turned off is pressed.

I opened the folder and a saw that the light was yellow/orange wire leads.

I have their trace on a motherboard connector.

Think the dirt or corrosion may cause a joint high-strength, I unplugged the connector and re-connected, with the intention to clean the contacts.

It does not solve the problem.

    Hello Tony617,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that your power light is no longer shows if the system is on or off, and if you're constantly reboot the computer when it is just in mode "Eve". To resolve this issue, you will need to part (511607-ZH1) number - Power switch LED support (Longitude), which is no longer sold by HP, but is available online, you need to simply do a search for the part number and you will locate many.

Now to replace the switch / LED support Assembly you must follow the instructions set out for you below:

Before to intervene on the installation that you have done the following.

Step 1. Turn off all the devices connected to the system.
    Step 2. Shut down Windows.
Step 3. Identify and mark all the cables. Disconnect the cables from the system. Don't forget to disconnect the modem cable before disconnecting the power cord.

    The power switch

The power switch is located in the upper part of the system. The hard drive activity light is lower on the front of the system. The two parties are wired together and must be removed at the same time.

    Withdrawal of the power switch

To remove the switch a first remove the trim...

    .. .the front...

    .. .the optical drive...

    .. .the system fan...

    .. .and the cage.

The power switch also branches to connect to the activity of the hard drive LED, which is located inside the front and drive IO memory combination.

Remove the connector of the power led hard drive the rest of the power switch wiring harness

Resume the threads on the guide to small cable systems.

Detach the connector from the power switch to the motherboard.

Release the connector of the three guides cable near the top of the PC.

Inside the PC, slide the latch beside the sons of the connector...

.. .and while pressing the lock...

.. .slide power switch slightly to the right...

.. then pull the power switch and connectors on the PC.

    Power switch replacement

The switch has a small hook on the side...

.. .that fits into a small slot on the front of the PC.

The switch has also two small tabs...

.. .that fall into the slots on the PC.

To replace the power switch, first feed the connector in through the rectangular slot on the front of the PC.

Align the tabs on the switch and hook into their slots on the PC...

.. .and slide the switch to the left until the latch snaps into place to fix all.

Enter three cable guides the power switch connector near the top of the PC.  The cable Guide helps keep cables compact and are important to maintain the circulation of air in the PC.

Replace the connector on the motherboard...

... replace the connector to the guide of the seal...

.. .and re - pair connector on the cable of the hard disk activity light coming from the IO Panel front.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • HP Pavilion Slimline s5710f desktop PC

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU and posibble my GFX card as well. Mainly for the reason of being able to use the program again for my school.

I looked up on the specs of the computer processor, but I was wondering. Those are the only processors which can be accepted or are there more options.

What gfx card would I also be able to put?

    Hello

The processors listed under processor upgrade information should work in your HP Slimline PC with a few exceptions like the 960.  This list of AMD for socket AM3 95 watt processors is what AMD says will work in AM3 95 watt sockets.

I'm not familiar with Revit, but this tool can be useful.  Look at Revit heresystem requirements.

HP has graphics cards for PC Slimline with a 220 watt power supply, but I do not know if these cards will meet the requirements of Revit.  Look here in HP Partsurfer for video cards that are used in the new Slimline models with a 220 Watt power supply.  These cards have been made specifically for the HP Slimline PC with a 220 watt power supply.  The 530 GT is probably the best of the bunch.

The biggest problem with the HP slimline is the possibility to install a good video card because of the limitations of power supply and the requirement that the video card must be a low-power low profile card.

    Hello

1 Actuually it is up to you, BUT if you do not use the machine to say 3 or 4 hours, keep it to save energy.
