s5740uk: add more RAM question

Hello

I bought 2 x2GB Crucial ram using their scanner system. I already have 2 x 2 GB in 2 slots, but when I added the new sticks to the 2 remaining slots that the machine does not start. Remove them and it starts fine. Read the HP plug my machine should take up to 16 GB of ram.

Any help would be appreciated people

Thanks in advance

TAM

Hello

Remove all DIMMs and test each of the new DIMMS one at a time. If OK, then try the new DIMMS in slots where resided the original DIMMS.

Try this memory bootable Diagnostics CD. Download memtest86 iso file and burn the disk using Imgburn.

Memtest86 4.20 more Installer USB.

  • Satellite M70-131 - I want to add more RAM

    Hello

    I have a Satellite M70-131
    Part number: PSM70E-01500RAR

I want to add more RAM, because I know you have to check three points to buy a new:
    -How can I add?
    -The type of RAM?
-The number of the BIOS or BUS?

I'm not sure about the third point, I know that I can add to 2G, and the type of RAM is DDR2.
But if I have the right point, how can I check the number (BIOS or BUS)? Because I tried to add one, but did ' t work!

    Help me please
    Thnx 4 all

    Hello!

The Satellite M70-131 can be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM and you have already said you need DDR2 RAM.
Specification for RAM is DDR2 400/533 and you can add two modules with 1 GB of capacity of each module. The reference is PA3411U-1M1G.

What do you mean with many BUS and BIOS? This has nothing to do with an upgrade of RAM.

    Good bye

  • Equium A100-303: looking to add more RAM

    Hello

I recently bought a laptop equium A100-303 and am lookin to add more RAM. I was just wondering if it should be buffered or non-buffered or is it important?

I currently have 1 GB of ram (512 + 512 MB as it is a dual core processor) and I'm looking to move to 2 GB (1024 + 1024). I know that the guy is PC4200, 200 pin SODIMM.

Also where would be the cheepest place to buy these? Thank you.

    Hello

    > just wondering if it should be buffered or non-buffered or is it important

Well, Toshiba has recommended using own memory as PA3411U-2M1G modules, but I put t find any information if the module supports ECC (means stored stamped) or Non - ECC (means not stamped)
To my knowledge, the buffer ECC is about 30% slower than Non - ECC modules.

He name of your choice what you will buy, but I would recommend purchasing a brand s module.
I know modules without name are cheaper brand modules are much faster and performance, but the quality is better in the form of modules without name.

So googel a bit and you will find many offers online. Simply compare prices

  • Can I add more ram?

Hello.i have a laptop computer hp laptop g62 (a80sv I think) and I have 2 GB of ram (ddr3 elpida in 1 ram) I have room to add more ram (I want to add more than 2 GB), but I don't know if my laptop can recognize it.also I want to know how much it costs to buy another one.i am from Greece and I went to the store and he told me that it costs 70 euros but now I don't know if this price is real.do you know if it's old price or something? Thank you

    Hello:

The best thing to do is to run the crucial memory free analysis tool, who will report what type and how much memory you can install on your laptop.

Since I live in the United States, I will not be able to help you memory source or prices in Greece.

  • SL500 and I want to add more RAM

    Howdy.

I have a new Thinkpad SL500, such as here: http://www.hemini.com/products/product_details.aspx?prodid=425737&cp=1&sc=1&sct=

It has an Intel Core 2 Duo (T6670) 2.2 GHz processor and 2048 MB of RAM.

I want to add more RAM to make it even more effective that I use a lot of programs, sometimes at the same time.

I wish it have 4 GB, and what I understand is the maximum that it is supposed to be able to handle.

Then what should I do? I buy a 4 GB of RAM and remove the 2 GB that I have now and install the 4 GB one?

Or should I leave the 2 GB RAM inside and just buy a 2 GB of RAM and add together inside?

In addition, the brand has a role? Wouldn't be brand of Lenovo? What other groups are good for RAM?

They are all the other things I have to consider buying RAM. ?

    Thank you very much.

If you use 32 bit os I works perfectly with 4 GB but system uses 3 GB. Add the next module that means you probably have 2 GB module inserted. You can simply put another beside it mounted origin. Check with everest, aida, cpu - z or any other things how many modules is placed on your motherboard and you have free banks.

  • I can add more ram to my dimension E510

I was told that I needed more RAM to run my games.  CPU works real slow and all the time.  I have Windows XP Service Pack 3 in series.  My Dell is 6 years old and don't me you have confidence to buy another because of complications related to the death of my son, so I'm stuck with this one.  Please help with possibility to add more RAM for this 6 year old machine.  Thanks may Stevens

We don't know how much memory you have, but this system can accommodate 4GB.

You can read the manual of your system here:

    http://support.Dell.com/support/eDOCS/systems/dim5150/en/OM/WD846A02.PDF

A popular place to buy memory and have your system checked to see what you have now and what you may need is to use the scanner found here:

    http://www.crucial.com/

Depending on what game you play, it can do not even work on your system (optimal).  Your system meet or exceed the requirements of game?

If you are unsure of what you have right now, follow these steps (we can watch your video driver too):

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click OK, and when the system info summary appears, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here.

For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.

  • Initial size (MB) and maximum (MB) size should I use to add more RAM to my memory?

I followed the instructions on a video on how to add more RAM to your computer without taking it apart.

I followed all the steps up until I came to the part in the dialog 'virtual memory '.  Where it says, 'custom size' you have to put the ' initial size (MB) and the ' size maximum (MB).  How do I know what size to put in this area?

I looked up my information on my computer:

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

    Memory: 1.00 GB

    System type: 32-bit

Now, while I was following instructions to add more RAM.

    my computer displays this information:

in the performance option dialog box:

In the tab advanced under virtual memory, it is said:

"page for all readers file size: MB."

In the virtual memory dialog box:

    for the C: drive:

There's the initial size (MB) - white

and (MB) maximum size - White

What should I do in this case?  What would be the initial size and maximum size?

    Hello Palette,

You talk about 'virtual' non-physical memory. There is a difference.

UPN based on the amount of RAM 'physical' you have in your machine the ' virtual RAM should be of approximately 1.5 hour of Aries. You have currently 1 GB of physical RAM Windows allocates already 1.5 GB RAM virtual and, frankly, it is better to let Windows manage the virtual memory file.

If you want to improve then install the physical RAM more. Your guide to computer manufacturers will tell you to what maximum physical RAM, you can install and what type it is. I admit that I have changed the physical RAM to many times so know what I'm doing, but, frankly, it's less of a hassle to change the physical RAM which play with virtual RAM.

RAM memory modules simply slide in and are cut in place. Change the RAM in a desktop computer is easier than a cell phone, but you will get much better results increase the physical RAM that you would changing virtual RAM.

Of course, this is assuming that you need in the first place of the increased RAM. I recently increased my physical RAM of 4 GB to 8 GB and hardly noticed any difference.

  • Possible to add more RAM, maximum allowed on HP - Compaq Presario SR5233WM?

HP-Compaq Presario SR 5233WM PC, Windows Vista Edition Home Premium, drive HARD 250, 2.8 ghz and 2 GB of RAM now.   (from 2007ish)

The specification of State HP 2 GB document.  I've read elsewhere in their manual maybe says 4 GB, but I do not.

I checked the BIOS page and it shows only 2 slots for the Rams.

And ran scan from Crucial.com showing 2 GB as max.

Is it possible to add above stated max 2 GB?  This amount feels slow for this type of PC.  Impossible to find anywhere, any information on the website about it.

Is there a device that can fix somehow, that would take more memory?

    Thank you very much.

    HP, welcome to the forum.

No, the motherboard is capable of supporting the 2 GB of memory. There is no way to add any device which will add memory, either.

Am new to laptops and was looking to increase its performance for games current RAM is 4 GB (3.48 GB usable) any help telling me what higher RAM sizes might be compatiable would be greatly appreciated.

What follows is probably necessary, but just in case its of any help here are some of my computers laptops other specifications (type 64-bit operating system), (processor AMD A63410MX APU with graphics Radeon (TM) HD 1.60 GHZ) using windows edition Home premium.

Sorry think it was the wrong number, I gave the full name is HP pavilion dv7-6b05ea if all goes well which is a bit more useful, also came its a site saying I can switch to 16 GB and wanted to make sure that its correct before buying a link for the site here

This is correct information and Crucial is a great brand of memory. Crucial memory is guaranteed compatible memory when you use their memory finder. Take advantage of the 16 GB.

  • I'll be able to add more ram?

That I upgrade my processor of my HP-G4-1010US one of 8 GB to 16 GB processor (support of ram), I'm wondering since the processor I get (i5 - 2540 m) supports 16 gb, I'll be able to throw my old GB 8 critical sticks and add in some new 16 GB sticks instead? Just outta curiosity, thought that would be pretty impressive considering 16 GB is all you ever really need RAM... (unless you're doing some EXTREME high end game in 3D and editing videos/pitures graphics at the same time haha...). Please and thank you for a quick response

    Hello

In terms of hardware, the RAM upgrade, support... jobs rely on the mother/card motherboard.
